Stumptown Coffee Roasters

I've been buying Stumptown Coffee beans for at least a couple of years, so I definitely wanted to check out one of their coffee shops while in Portland. They did not disappoint. The latte was great, the staff was friendly and I enjoyed the art for sale on the walls as well. They were also kind enough to allow my party to eat our Voodoo Donuts there. Highly recommend.

The place has a great atmosphere and is well A/C-ed. It's an ideal place for your remote work needs. There's also a security person at the door, which imo is a nice thing.

As usual for stumptown the coffee is amazing. The atmosphere of this particular coffee shop is a bit busy it's beautiful but just very busy. I enjoy stopping in here for coffee though and getting it to go. They are busy because they are good I just don't like crowds and wish I could enjoy the space more. The coffee is great and staff are always friendly.

We ordered 1. latte: 19 gram dose with 29gram of extraction…loved it. 2. Hot chocolate: The chocolate syrup is housemade here so you can adjust the sugar level as per your need which is rare! There were 2 people on the counter making the coffee and hot chocolate and they were so adorable and customer centric.

Oh so good coffee here!! I bought an americano and a cute little notebook. The coffee is great, and the service was great. Everyone seemed happy to be working, it was nice to chat a bit about the coffee. Reusable cups are allowed here, dogs are allowed inside and there is a security guard at the front door. There is a unisex Washroom, its simple and kept clean with feminine products available. Place is very spacious with various types of sitting areas including a big boardroom style table for people to share and collaborate to. I brought my voodoo donut here and I wasn't alone, I believe there was 3 other groups with voodoo donuts. Staff seemed used to it. The latte in the picture is the rose gold latte. I didn't have it but it was so beautiful I had to take a photo of it.

I'm from out of town and kind of a coffee snob. This place did not disappoint with the quality of coffee. I thoroughly enjoyed the espresso and the Liquid Death paired with it. Not many places will give you carbonated water with espresso and I appreciate it! The staff has been wonderful and kind in both locations I've been to and their ambiance is very welcoming.

Great little coffee shop with lots of room to sit and chill. It's pretty spacious with seperate seating areas. Great vibe, great ambience, music and staff. Inclusive, and trendy esthetic. We can't forget the lovely security guard out front, who greats everyone patron or not who walks by. What a guy.

Always bought the beans from Stumptown and finally got to try their coffee in person. The latte was good but the chai latte was more spice than tea.

The atmosphere is very pleasant and there is a good amount of places to sit. I ordered a breakfast sandwich and it was very tasty. The liquid death mountain water was actually refreshing and had a nice clean taste. The employees were very kind and welcoming. Overall, I would definitely come back.

The store is quite spacious with indoor seating. Very welcoming vibes when you enter. They even have someone opening the door for you. Tried their seasonal item - spicy strawberry mocha. I was visiting Portland for the weekend and heard so many great things about Stumptown. I got their iced latte with vanilla syrup and it was incredible! It was sweet yet very tasty and quite strong. Can't wait to go back and have the same thing again!

This was the first stop I made when I arrived to Portland and I did feel unsafe walking here but luckily they have security outside their door. I stepped in the shop coming from a 92 degree weather and you feel a cool breeze of cold air cooling you off inside. I was suprised, the barista recommended an iced flat white and I put my trust in him and ended up enjoying the drink! My friends were right about the coffee in Portland, it's really good. The Coraline cold brew was worth it too. I've never watched the movie but I thought the Coraline theme was interesting.

Great airy space to get work done or to sit and relax with a coffee for a bit. I ordered their seasonal pomegranate latte and it was good. Interesting fruity and sweet coffee latte.

Only stopped in for a quick latte. The vibes were very twilight hipster with some dark music but super friendly staff. You can tell they take pride in their coffee which I always appreciate. All the coffee based drinks are made with oatmilk unless you ask for something else. I thought it was an above average latte although super tiny for $6 only 6oz..I savored everything drop ha. Would stop by again for a little treat!

Cute little coffee shop. Spacious and artsy. Great for relaxing, reading a book, and of course a great drink. Super friendly staff. LBGTQ friendly. Our drinks were delicious and totally hit the spot. We ordered an iced matcha and an iced chai! Our barista recommended the Madagascar vanilla and we were not disappointed! Would totally come back my next visit to Portland! Cheers!

Excellent coffee. Excellent service. The best thing about this place? Standard is oat milk unless you specify otherwise. And they let you eat voodoo donuts there even though they have a full pastry case. They have a security guard at the door. It's a wide open cheery space! I got a vanilla oat milk latte and it was exactly perfect.

Mocha - 5/5 - Ordered an 8 oz. mocha and it was the perfect blend of sweet and coffee. I appreciate all drinks are made with oat milk, and had no upcharge for any other dairy alternatives (lactose intolerance rejoice!). Bacon & Egg sandwich - 5/5 - A good sized sandwich that tasted super fresh. They used an english muffin which was buttered and toasted. The bacon is thick, reminding me of ham. The arugula added a nice element of flavor to contrast the saltiness. Service - Friendly service. They even have a security employee in front! Ambiance - Great wide open aesthetic.

Very cool cafe with great espresso taste and nice art. Stuff are very friendly and their service is great.

Heard a lot about Portland Coffee! Finally got a Cortado! I did enjoyed it but again not the all time best like local places. I guess as soon as they turned to franchise, they lose a percentage of quality sadly. You overall I give them 4 star!

Decided to try out another Stumptown Coffee location! I had gone to the SW Stark St location a few days prior, and wanted to try the more reviewed spot. The area isn't good here. First time seeing a security guard outside of a coffee shop. Lots of homeless in the area. I got: -cold brew $5.75, standard -croissant $5, below average. Wasn't offered to heat up. Was dense without much flavor. The inside decor is a lot bigger than the other location. Definitely a bit more busy with more foot traffic. Overall, would prefer the Stark location. Street parking only.

Stopped by for a coffee go to with a Voodoo donut on Wednesday around 10:30am. There were no lines at all, which is great. Inside was very spacious and open. I was was interested in getting some coffee beans so I picked a bag and ordered a chai latte and a latte. Apparently when you buy coffee beans, you get a discount in your coffee. Coffee was ready rather quickly and out I went. The chai latte was not very sweet and definitely does have a little spice kick to it... a lot stronger than other places. If you like your chai like this, this is your place. I thought it was just okay. I didn't think the chai latte was as smooth as I'd like it to be, but overall okay. My friend has the latte and she was it was okay as well.

I wanted to experience the Stumptown brick and mortar in Portland and this location didn't disappoint!!! The coffee is pretty small probably like a tall at Starbucks but it's really good. I walked out with ground coffee and other souvenirs they carry. It's so spacious so I enjoyed my coffee sitting in the corner people watching LOL. Highly recommend this Stumptown location in Portland for the experience. It's right next to Voodoo Doughnut so you can bring a doughnut to enjoy with your Stumptown coffee!!!

One of the coffee companies most highly recommended to me by locals is Stumptown. We have a coffee shop locally that buys their beans, so I knew visiting the source would be special. They've been successful, so there are a few locations around Portland; this one was convenient for us to visit while exploring the city. Entering, it was welcoming with big windows, high ceilings, and great lighting. It's sparse but comfortable - we sat at the back to take a break after a long walk. The store had various freshly roasted beans to take home, canned and bottled coffee and drinks, plus a counter with all the fresh poured hot and cold coffee and other drinks. If you purchase a bag to go, you get a free cup of coffee so it's worth doing that if you're planning to stay. All the staff was welcoming and engaging, talking about the various beans and pouring methods. Restrooms were also available and kept clean. Prices overall are reasonable for the high quality. If you're a coffee fan, this is a great place to stop and relax with a hot cup.

Tried their seasonal mint matcha and loved it! The mint wasn't too overpowering and was perfectly mixed with the matcha.

This particular coffee shop was very spacious with multiple tables and places to sit. +Nitro Cold Brew for $5.50 (12 oz) - This is excellent. - 5/5 Overall, I am now a fan of Stumptown Coffee Roasters and would absolutely come back. The Nitro Cold Brew was great here. The service was phenomenal, and the coffee shop itself was awesome. I would recommend this place if you're in downtown Portland.

I had such a blast with my cup of coffee at this spot! I went for the Rose Gold latte with almond milk, and let me tell you, it was downright delicious. Even though they've got limited seating, I lucked out and got a spot. But hey, that's just a minor hiccup compared to all the other awesome stuff about this place! Plus, they've got sugar-free syrups for those who can't have sugar. With a fantastic interior to boot, this place is a winner in my book. Can't wait to swing by again for another round of great coffee and good vibes!

Visiting one of my favorite coffee bean companies in their hometown was a real pleasure. The aroma of the fresh brew still lingers in my mind. Portland is undoubtedly a great place to enjoy good coffee!

I love how some town doesn't charge for oatmilk. I really like how they have a lot of open seating in space and there is free Wi-Fi. I haven't tried any of the pastries yet, but they have many vegan options. The bathroom was broken yesterday, so I was very disappointed but otherwise it was a really nice place to study. And it seems like many people come in to do their work and chat.

Tasty coffee, I had the seasonal beverage. All beverages are prepared with Oat Milk unless specified otherwise. No extra charge for alternative milks. I also liked there was a security person at the door. Much needed due to all the individuals living on the streets.

I learned that Stumptown started in Portland and actually has coffee locations. This is a coffee that I have seen at the supermarket so it is quite popular. There's a long line so if you're in a hurry, this place is not for you (unless you are lucky and pass by when no one is here). There were two-three employees when we were here so it does take some time for your drinks to get made. There are a lot of options and substitutions with seasonal items to checkout. I ordered a matcha drink with oat milk substitution and it was surprisingly good. I'm glad they did not charge extra to replace whole milk with plant based milk for those of us that are lactose intolerant. Overall, if you're visiting on vacation, make a stop. If you're looking for a quick coffee place, this is not for you.

Big open space with dine-in options available- a community table, a couple 2-seater tables, and I think possibly a couch area too Modern minimalistic style and very calming atmosphere I opt for their seasonal Black Sesame and Matcha Latte -- eh, it was ok. taste pretty standard and like what it sounds, no really 'wow' factor. I had 2/3 left when all the ice melted and from there, didn't feel like salvaging it anymore aha Not sure if I ordered the wrong drink but don't think I'll be stopping by next time ~ happy at least to check it out due to its Yelp popularity

Hairbender in person is so much better than making it myself. Oatly is not ridiculously upcharged--it's included! Friendly service. Large space. What else should be said?

Visit this place all the time while in Portland! Coffee was good every single time. Prepare for a wait line but other than that is worth it

We were in town for the weekend and we always want to try a local coffee place vs the big chains we can get at home. I looked up places before we left and saw good reviews on Stumptown and decided to try it. I'm so happy we did! The place is very cute and clean and I love the art displayed on the walls. The line wasn't too bad but shortly after we got there the line was to the door. I had an almond milk latte and a pistachio croissant. Both were DELICIOUS! The latte was made to perfection and had a pretty little design in the foam that made it aesthetically pleasing. The pistachio croissant was amazing tasting and pretty big. If I lived there I'd be in trouble because it's one of those things I think I'd crave. Stumptown was a great choice for us! We are back home now and I'm debating ordering some of the ground coffee. WHY didn't I purchase some when I was there? Anyway, I highly recommend trying this place!

Very nice service, wasn't very crowded and had a chill vibe to it. Staff were very sweet and adjusted my coffee to my liking. Love that this place is oat milk based! I got a 12oz Vanilla Latte ‍. Would recommend.

Delicious coffee. I usually get the drip coffee here, really flavorful. Really nice atmosphere to hang out with either friends or just by yourself.

I liked how open and spacious the layout was. It would be a great study spot or somewhere to chill with a book. I ordered the seasonal Sugar & Spice Latte with oat milk. I expected to taste more spice. Overall, it was a good latte. If I lived locally, I would routinely go back.

Stumptown was a-okay. I ordered online and when I arrived, they had our drinks ready already. This location is very spacious and has some street parking. I got the Iced Rose Gold Latte and enjoyed the hints of Rose in the latte. My friend got the Ginger Cold Brew, and she enjoyed it. I tried a sip and wasn't a big fan of the flavor though. Both drinks costed $6.50. Overall, I'm glad I gave them a try, but it's not must-visit worthy. Next time, I would give other coffee spots a when I'm in Portland again.

This review is exclusively about their subscription service. I wish I was living in Portland so I could visit this coffee shop often. But now since I live in CA, I have to settle for the next best option which is getting their coffee via their subscription service. The sign up was super easy on their website. The shipping is free with subscription which is awesome. The coffee beans smell soooo good. I have tried their decaf coffee and the coffee taste is sooo settle and it is just perfect. I am super excited to try the other beans soon enough. I know the single origin beans are the best, but personally I have always loved the blends. That is why I ordered them instead. PLUS: Most of their beans are ORGANIC, which is a must for me. Comparing these beans to the beans from the big chain coffee companies, I am so happy that not only I support an amazing coffee shop but also I get to enjoy a great quality beans!

I'm a coffee fiend and probably spend way too much money on coffee - but it's gotta be good coffee! Stumptown definitely hits the spot - the quality of the roasts are incredible and I appreciate the unique flavors of the lattes they've got. Also they don't charge extra for oat milk!!!' Ambiance of the shop is lovely - great big windows with lots of natural light and cool decor (including lovely greenery!). Staff is nice and responsive to your needs! Efficient and great at making the awesome lattes.

Great coffee but their music taste is absolutely atrocious. I have never wanted to rip my ears out more. Just a thought, maybe don't turn your music to MAX and play heavy metal. Absolute dog water.

We came here since we had just purchased donuts for breakfast at Voodoo Donuts, and needed a place to sit down to eat them. Seems like a few other people had the same idea and followed us. Here, I ordered a rose gold matcha. I enjoyed my drink, has it had rose water and honey. They asked for my preference in milk. I asked for almond milk, which they thankfully had. We had a lovely breakfast just chilling here before we headed out to enjoy the rest of our day.

The coffee here is one of the best. Good quality and service. Nice place to chill and enjoy a cup. Surprisingly big on the inside. The staff here a welcoming and fast. The only draw back is the surrounding area which is questionable at times but worth a stop if youre nearby and want a good coffee option.

OMG, so happy I had this spot and had it bookmarked ahead of time on my list to check em out. Happy to know it would be so close to hotel so we could check em out. It was about a 5-10 min walk and glad we were able to make it in before the rush behind us. The aesthetics in here are super cute and they have some seating indoor and can have your drinks to go as well. They do have some small treats you can purchase in there as well. Their seasonal menu got my eye and so I had to order the maple coffee. It sure did not disappoint me and had great tase with every sip! Coffee was so good and service was superb!! Def a fan and can't wait to come back on my next visit to Portland!

No Charge for Plant-Based Milk! Excellent decision by the owners! Added Oatly for no charge. I needed a coffee after a tour of Portland Donut Shops, and this Stumptown was close to the final stop of Voodoo Donuts. The coffee was good and did the job that coffee does, especially on a somewhat brisk morning. Staff was friendly and helpful during this quick stop for a caffeine fix.

Cool, coffee place with alot of space, ressembling an art gallery, where you can sit and drink coffee while admiring the art. Tried matcha latte and cappuccino.

Stumptown is one of Portland's most famous roasters, so we obviously had to stop by for a try. Unfortunately, it was one of our least favorite coffee stops during our stay. I got the hazelnut latte, which is a seasonal drink. It was certainly decent, with a nice, toasty hazelnut flavor. It did taste artificial, and was overly sweet for my taste. The drink was overall quite creamy and rich though, which I appreciated. My friend got a normal latte, and it just tasted off to me. Maybe I just wasn't used to the beans that they used, but the flavor was off putting and definitely did not inspire me to take a second sip. I would recommend stopping just to say you gave it a try, but wouldn't really recommend for the coffee itself!

Like many other tourists in the area, we decided to visit the original Stumptown! My sister had their Sugar & Spice while I tried their Salted Maple. The ordering process was fairly smooth, but slow to get the drinks. My sister loved hers and mine tasted alright, but I cannot say I would order it again. What knocked them down a few stars, was the disgusting bathrooms. Pink mold in the sink, gross toilet. Yuck! You have to get a code for them as they make it clear they're for paying customers only. If they can't be bothered to clean their bathrooms, what does that say about their cleanliness elsewhere?

This place has a great almond milk latte. Worth waiting for. Can you please come train the folks at my local Peet's?

Like others before me, I got the bright idea to grab a coffee here for my impending wait in line at nearby Voodoo Doughnuts. It's also the first time I've had Stumptown Coffee at an actual Stumptown location (not counting the airport of course) so I figured we might as well go to the one that started it all. The spot was your average, run of the mill coffeeshop. Nothing really stood out as unique or particularly interesting to me. My oatmilk latte was a half step above average. Ironically, when I've gotten drinks made with Stumptown at other shops it was more memorable (like Ernest Coffee in Palm Springs, for example). With all the awesome coffee to be found in Portland, I don't see myself coming back here. But hey at least I can check it off the list and it did make the wait for donuts go by a little quicker. #2VS

It's the most famous coffee shop in Portland, so it was a coffee shop I really want to visit when I come to Portland. It was delicious, but Its below my expectations, I ordered a latte, but the temperature of the latte was low, and there were a lot of milk foam, so I felt like coffee balance didn't fit. And I'm from LA. The Stumptown coffee in LA is more delicious than the Stumptown coffee shop here. But it's a coffee shop that is a symbol of Portland, and if you like a nutty style coffee, I recommend this coffee shop.!
