We really enjoyed this place. Drinks were reasonably priced. Service was great. Good location that is nice inside. I would definitely recommend this place.

This was my first time coming here and I felt very welcomed. The bartender Fredo was a delight to talk to! Katie was the kindest bartender I have encountered in the greater DC area. I will definitely be back! A place where people are friendly and the atmosphere is exactly where I wanted to be.

Stopped by here randomly with a friend of mine. We had been bar hopping all night and needed a quick pick me up for brunch. The bartender was very friendly and informative. He suggested I get the tacos which were probably the best ones I’ve had in dc this far. And the prices were fairly cheap for the quality of food and drinks we received. It’s a cute little bar with indoor and outdoor seating.

Nice bar in the DC area. It has great specials, food was real good, and the bartenders were nice. It's probably the best bar/sports bar for the price in the area. I'm a wings guy and these are quality wings. They must bread the wings a bit, but I love it because it soaks up the Buffalo sauce some more. The Buffalo sauce is real good as well, a good blend of hot sauce/butter/whatever else they use. My wife got the chorizo quesadilla and it was pretty good as well. Nice char and grill marks, chorizo made it a bit greasy but that's expected. Overall great meal. Definitely would recommend as a neighborhood bar!

It's a sports bar with multiple TVs. We were looking for a place to watch the baseball while on U st and we were happy to have found this bar. There's a large selection of drinks and I was able to try a bunch of different beers I had yet to try in DC since being there. The bartenders were up for a chat every now and again and they made sure we always had something to drink which definitely kept us happy. My partner ordered a fried sampler which had a bunch of different fried foods including mozzarella sticks and chicken wings. The items were delicious but it did feel like a lot after eating only half. I'd recommend it as a snack for at least three people unless you think you're good with fried foods in which case order one for yourself!

Welp- discovered Sudhouse only because our PubPass & the experience was very different from what we expected. Researching locations on the PubPass, we chose Sudhouse because of their ample craft beer variety posted & HH promotions via their website- Upon arriving, we were informed, despite what their entire website/yelp says, the HH only covered a small section of domestic brews, the draft local brews were $10+ a pint, & mostly everything listed was tapped. Was very frustrating to have an unexpected high bill , especially when the brewery is nearby offering same beer at $7 & we were even there on HH-not like the ambiance carried the upcharge, as the bartender basically left us, ignoring us the majority of the time- leaving some random guy from the bar nearby to just go behind the bar & help us.. Not worth trying out.

I hosted an event at Sudhouse on a December Saturday and was thrilled with the outcome. Ally and Simo were super friendly and available for any assistance I needed. We had our own semi private space which was affordable and perfect for our group. The staff were courteous and friendly and made sure to check on us throughout the night. Sudhouse is a gem and I highly recommend hosting your parties there! Thanks again, Ally and Simo!

Sudhouse has a awesome bar like atmosphere with great happy hour prices! Most dishes are between $4-9 and drinks between $4-6!! They also have a few tv's that show mostly sports games... we watched a tennis match! They have jamming modern music and bar type food and drinks! *The drinks we got weren't on the happy hour menu because we like to be extra !* Laura and Bridget were awesome! They were very attentive, made great dish suggestions and kept us and the other customers laughing the entire time. We'll definitely return!! This has been one of favorite dive bars in DC but nowadays they have up the menu and the decor so it's much better! The food smacksss, try the wings or even the burgers. You can't go wrong with the Happy Hour drinks. Affordable, Divey, and great interactions. I usually got to see Tony. Just to catch up on life. The bartenders are attentive and alert! What more could you ask for.

Came to meet a friend on a Thursday night. First time here! Great mix of crowds of people! There's 3 floors. The middle floor is tiny and big enough for like 3 tables and overlooks the bar on the first floor. The top floor is kind of small too but they have some games up there. People were playing corn hole when I went up to look. I think there was another bar up there too Main floor, seemed like the bartender was the only person working - besides the people who brought out the food and cleaned the areas. So it seemed like it took a long time for her to swing around - but she was a beast, handling everyone's orders and drinks! Give her a raise :) Happy hour everyday from 4-6. A 2 min walk from the U street Metro. Mozzarella sticks were good! The buffalo wings were just okay- I wasn't a fan of the blue cheese lol

Sud house gets high marks for food and price, and looses ratings on ambiance and service. Good news first--the food is great! The jalapeño poppers were hand-made as were the mozzarella sticks. The 50/50 burgers were a novel treat and nicely made with fresh ingredients. The drinks were competently made. Two rounds of drinks, appetizers for two and dinner ran $90 before tip. This is very reasonable in DC. And that's the good news. Now... The place is small, and it was a busy Saturday--but not slammed. Everyone had a seat, either at the bar or at one of the handful of tables scattered around. However, table service was intermittent at best. Our drink and appetizer order was taken at the table, but I had to go to the bar to place our entree order, order our second round and ask for the check. Napkins were never brought with anything. I had to ask for a fork (...good thing I speak rudimentary Spanish). Atmosphere? Forget about it! The restroom is truly open to the public--prostitutes, drunk club kids, etc. It's unbelievably loud, and the narrow space makes for a challenging dinner experience. One of the aforementioned stumbling locals tripped over our table and filled my eyeglasses case with beer. Lastly, the bartenders--even when the bar is half full--will work on their phones before servicing the tables. You can probably do better on a Saturday night on U St.

Bridget and the bar team are actually so fun here!!!! They were so friendly and made me the drink I was dreaming of! Will definitely be back, and if you want a fun music vibe on the weekend come here. Couldn't recommend it more!!

Always a classic. Great bar scene with happy bartenders service is great and attentive.

WARNING: They will charge a $20 hold for certain cards without letting you know beforehand. The costumer service representative was not forthcoming in her response to my initial review on google. My friend and I were both NEVER made aware of a $20 charge to be placed on our cards until we saw it in our bank statement the day after. This appears to be an ongoing problem with this bar as confirmed by the costumer service rep who mistook me for another patron who was also confused about this matter the night before. She also confirmed that she has had previous calls about this problem with other patrons which has resulted in no change in the processing system or prior warning of the charge to paying costumers. In general, wouldn't recommend coming here.

Sudhouse is definitely a bar you go to any time of day or night! The service is really good, all the bartenders are attentive! The wings on Sunday are $5, definitely go get a basket of wings however you want 'em! Love their green tea shots! We're here every other month or so, and we've never had a bad experience!

I always enjoy Sudhouse. The management staff is so friendly and the bartenders keep you coming back ! It's a great place to watch the games, has happy hour on weekends.

Greatest bar on Earth. Come in and ask for "The Nelson." You won't regret it. Unless you hate fun! Liz is the best bartender on the planet!

Loved hosting my birthday here. Ally was super helpful, attentive and responsive with booking and setting up for my reserved area. The DJ was great as well. Definitely recommend for those looking for a spot to host their birthday or special event - I think the only thing I'd do differently is book the top floor, it looked amazing.

Came here for an event and we had the whole room upstairs. There were a lot of people and the acoustics were painful due to the walls being brick. But as far as spaces go, it is out of the way. Bar service was attentive. My drink was good. The fish tacos were awesome. They don't come in fast but they are worth waiting for.

Great sports bar with awesome drink/food deals. Wings were pretty good, lathered in sauce and quite meaty. The clientele and atmosphere is very chill and Laura is a VIBE.

I love this place. Best value in the neighborhood. happy hour everyday including on the weekends. Great cheap food and drinks. Wings are money!!! They have free popcorn and specials everyday. Tons of beer on tap and a huge selection of canned beer. I've used their free party room for a few events that have been awesome. This is the best place to host private events because they don't charge some crazy minimum like most other places. My favorite is the beer and shot combos on Wednesday's for $6 I live in the neighborhood and come here all the time.

Sudhouse is a multi-story bar that serves cocktails and lite bites. It is located in the U Street Corridor. They offer happy hour daily but times vary per day. Behind the bar, there's a sign that says "For the Love of Beer". My friends and I started with Lemon Drop shots. Then, we shared Pork Sliders, which consisted of three grilled buns filled with tangy pulled pork and coleslaw. In addition to the Suds Lemonade, which consisted of Ketel One Vodka, fresh lime juice, simple syrup, and lemon lime soda. It was garnished with lemon. It was bubbly, refreshing, and quite delicious. I was surprised to see a plastic straw, but prefer it over a paper straw. After consuming the Suds Lemonade, I became sleepy, and was warned that I must stay awake at the bar.

Came here on two Fridays this summer for their Happy Hour specials (4pm-8pm) and they did not disappoint. Plenty of good drink & food deals (mostly "finger foods"). They have a wide selection of beers on tap, and I tried both a piña colada & Paloma, which were both really good. Bartenders are chill and really attentive. Food-wise, I've ordered the chicken tenders, fried pickles, and tater tots. It was nothing earth-shattering, but each item was hot and crispy and came out quick. I love the ambience. A few TVs playing sports games, good (but not too loud) music bumping in the background, and decent crowd. There's also a few tables outside, and it's under a canopy so you're out of the sun. It feels more "divey" than some of the more glamorous DC bars/happy hour spots, but it's a really clean, classy, well put-together spot (if that makes sense). Clean bathrooms too. Came with friends the first time, then came back for a first date, and Sudhouse's vibe worked for either occasion. I definitely will be back again, and I'd encourage y'all to stop by sometime after work for happy hour!

My friends and I decided to watch the MSU vs Minnesota game here on Saturday night. We arrived around 7:30 and the place was buzzing. Lots of folks in the bar watching bball games and catching up. They also had an event going on upstairs at The Hooch. I was greeted with hugs and smiles per usual by the staff and owner. A table was available for us in the back of the first floor with a great tv view. We had food and drinks that came out promptly. We had fish tacos, chicken wraps and burgers with sweet potato fries on the side. The prices are very inexpensive coupled with great service. I always love coming here.

I normally come to this place is always a vibe but tonight the bouncer was only letting his friends and girls in (and when I called him out he caught an attitude and was like just go the fu k in) after denying me entry. He was also purchasing weed from his friend and rolling up ( he tried to stick it in his pocket before noticed)

Food was DELICIOUS!!! Got the jalapeño poppers, pork slider, and sweet chili wings with range. Everything was 9.5/10. Will be back soon. Oh and did I mention the price. Let's just say I'm totally full for $16. Drank water sooo yeah. Just water haha

Overall a really solid spot. Great happy hour! food is good and comes out quickly, pretty nice selection as well. Could do with a couple more beers on tap, but not going to be too harsh on that. Service is good, it's a cool vibe. Would definitely go back.

Luka!! What a guy! I came in here with friends from out of town, when we wanted a quick break from our tour. It happened to be HH so we were here for some cheap eats and drinks. Both were really great! We really enjoyed their thai wings and taters. I love me a good tater, and they were very generous with those portions. ::winning:: We came back on a Monday night after a fun time at Marvins and Luka was at the door AND REMEMBERED US! What a guy. It was a chill vibe, we hung out again and the food was just as good late at night as it was earlier in the day, another win. The 14th & U corridor has so much history and things to see and learn, this bar is a great place to take a break and catch that second wind.

Great place! Fast and friendly service. We are a group of 4 and we were seated quickly and at a great table. Food was good. Highly recommend the tater tot nachos.

Friendly neighborhood bar where we grabbed a drink one afternoon with friends. Although I don't think they were open, they let us in to get some drinks. They were out of Allagash, but I found a comparable beer. Further, someone brought out a bowl of water for my friend's dog. Awesome. Lots of activity to watch from the patio. Considering we were the first patrons there, the place was pretty empty. However, inside was DC muralist Aniekan Udofia working away on another mural. Cool. Would definitely return.

Hosted my husbands 50th birthday in the private upstairs room. Amazing staff, great food and absolutely perfect space!!

I love Sudhouse, I've been here on a date, I've come for a birthday party. This bar in DC is literally the chillest bar for any occasion. If you come here on a weekday after 5pm to close you will be surrounded by business professionals of any age as well as young millennials of the legal drinking age to the older generation of millennials. The barkeeps here are always so friendly. When I came here on a date, the boy I was with was so nervous he spiked his 75% spent beer all over the countertop and the bartender laughed made a joke about being with a pretty lady and gave him a new one of the house. There also always seems to be a special going on, sometimes it's a $5 glass of wine other times it's shots of the bartenders choice. Honestly this is the place to go if you like the people you're with and want to unwind over a drink. There are also regulars that come here alone just to chill after a long day. I can't say enough good things about this bar, but honestly if you're on U-street you might as well come and check it out for yourself!

I almost don't want to tell anyone about this place. They are literally too good to be true. DC is wayyyy to expensive so HAPPY Hour here is my go to. They have the best happy hour prices. Simo is awesome. The private event room they have is FREE to book and they always serve with a smile.

Never been to this place but I'm so glad I was able to experience it for happy hour. My husband and his friend planned on going here for happy hour and I decided to crash it with my cousins. Sudhouse is actually a really cool place. First of all, it attracts all types of people which I'm a big fan of. You'll see customers with suits on to customers wearing jeans and sneakers. The weather was also awesome so it was nice to be outside (the only downfall of being outside is being with all the smokers). Their bathrooms are 'Whichever' which I absolutely love. Sudhouse has different specials every night and Thursdays, they have $5 draft beer and $6 burgers and wraps. The burgers come with fries. Outside, the menu states that there are $4 wings, but that is false. When we bought wings, the total amount was way more than expected (I'm the only one that questioned it). The food came out and I was starving so I ate everything and thought everything was delicious. False. It's great for the price but the food was totally mediocre. The wings have multiple sauces like honey bbq, Cajun, dry rub, plain, etc. I wasn't impressed with the food, but you get what you pay for, I guess. I loved the atmosphere there though. The bartender was pretty quick and attentive. Will defInitely be back to hang out there again.

Went during COVID and the lone bartender was awesome! We insisted on sitting outside in the freezing cold and the heating lamp was immediately lighted for us. They have an extended happy hour (until like 7 or 8pm) so we definitely took advantage of the specials. The food was good. The presentation reminded me of a ball game or school cafeteria lol so not instagram worthy but a great deal. There was a glitch in the computer so the bartender gave us a free shot for the wait and it was SO good, we ordered some more. The food and drinks weren't stellar but weren't bad either, but the service was amazing and is the reason we're definitely coming back!

Sudhouse is such a great neighborhood bar! After going to a friend's 30th birthday here and having a great time (maybe too good of a time...) I've gone to them several times for hosting events. They are incredibly accommodating and responsive, so I've held alumni events on either the second level (for small events) or the third level (for larger events). They're so fun to work with, the bartenders are nice, and the prices are really reasonable. They have lots of TVs and are pretty flexible - last time I was there, a football game was starting, but I wanted to watch Serena Williams play, and the bartender made it happen. They've hosted debate watches in the past, too, and I spent my 30th birthday watching the Hilary-Trump debate there (we miss you, girl). I like the food, too!

My friend and I came to Sudhouse one Thursday evening after stopping at another happy hour. Sudhouse had later happy hour options than most places in DC, which is what initially brought us here. Happy hour is Monday all day, Tuesday to Friday 4-8 PM, and weekends 2-6 PM. The Thursday we went also had trivia night, but we did not participate. I stuck to ordering a few Gin and Tonics (HH $5), but they also had Moscow Mules (HH $6), which I would try in the future. For our snacks, we ordered the Mozzarella Sticks (HH $4) and Chicken Quesadilla ($6). The rail drinks were standard, but the mozz sticks and quesadilla were good for bar food. The bartenders were extremely nice and prompt, and I plan to come back here soon!

We went there for Halloween and they had stand up. It was great! The bouncer was really cool and nice. Great drinks and atmosphere :)

Happy Hour until 8:00pm, cant beat that.... especially for someone who lives in VA and avoids traveling across the bridge during rush hour but, still wants to make it to HH :) Good food and drinks here

I stopped by this spot on a Monday night just to grab a quick drink and catch football and found it to be a cool little neighborhood bar on U street, one probably only local DC residents are truly familiar with. It sits in between several other hookah lounges and bars on a busy block but I'm always looking for the hidden gems. I stepped inside and there's nothing spectacular about the place but has a warm cozy feel to it. A few small bar tables surrounds the longer bar which obviously is the main attraction (apparently there's a second level but the weather didn't permit that to be open). I take a seat, the bartender instantly greets me with a menu and a complimentary bowl of popcorn (basically the equivalent of the free chips and salsa at Tex-mex locales). The menu consists of typical bar food nachos, wings, fries etc. I had an order of fries which were pretty solid, a can of beer and a couple shots. The kicker is that they have happy hour all night on Mondays and also have a game day menu which consists of various items such as $4 rails, $6 mixed drinks, and beer bucket and food combos which range from $17-$27. All in all the service was good, the drinks decent, and the bar vibes pretty chill. Perfect spot for a lowkey outing with friends or just stopping in to grab a drink and catch a sporting event. I doubt the place ever gets overcrowded which in DC is a great change of pace.

You can't go wrong with Moscow Mules at any bar. Tried the Mule which was excellent and the overall decor is pretty laid back. They even give you popcorn! The Happy Hour seems nice from what I saw on the menu, Drinks around 6-8 dollars, not so bad. They have a wide selection of beer and cocktails. I'd probably come back for a drink or two.

After (unsuccessfully) finding a U street bar that not only had a good tap selection AND serves food, we finally landed at Sudhouse. Not going to lie, I didn't have much faith in the food options here. It's your typical bar fare (burgers, wings, mozzarella sticks). But I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised! Although I had a basic cheeseburger, it was juicy, flavorful and they even had housemade aioli (my fave). Paired with a seasonal stout, it was perfect. The bartenders/staff were super friendly, and Sudhouse really gave off a neighborhood vibe.

Sudhouse is a modern gastropub on U Street catering to the young and hip crowd. They have a narrow bar that you may miss if walking too fast, but once inside you are greeted with extra seating and lots of televisions blasting the latest game. The bar has a modern industrial hipster look with friendly staff and a cool hip feel. The beer is cold and pricey, but competitive to other places in the area. This is a place to impress your friends or date, but a night out with the guys will get expensive fast. At least they have some good free popcorn!

This place is awesome! My boyfriend and I were heading out for a night on U street but wanted to grab a quick dinner first. We found Sudhouse on yelp and decided to pop in. We were able to grab a seat at the bar very quickly and the two bar tenders were really sweet. The drink specials were great (beer and shot for $8) and the food was good. I had a burger and my boyfriend had chicken tenders. Our total bill was around $70, and that included the two meals, 2 mixed drinks, and 4 of the drink specials-10 drinks total! We ended up spending a lot more time here than we planned and neither of us were mad about it at all. Also, the music selection was awesome (Kaskade and Elephante?!)! We will definitely be back next time we're in the area.

If this place was closer to our home it would be our neighborhood bar without question. The servers are super friendly, they make delicious Moscow mules and have a decent, extended happy hour every day, including weekends. Bonus: they give you freshly popped popcorn to munch on as soon as you sit down. It has an old fashion feel to it with lots of wood. Reminds me of an old time saloon. A second level overlooks the ground floor and I think I remember a few seats outside(?). I had the happy hour pork sliders, which were very tasty and he had the chicken avocado wrap. I also couldn't resist a $5 Moscow mule or two (they have Kentucky mules also.) Sudshouse is our go to place when we are looking for a quick afternoon pitstop on 14th street.

I get the sense that all the bros who have realized that Dupont is no longer the place to go out have just found their new hangout. Seriously, the bro-vibe is palpable. Vibe aside, there were a lot of people inside on Saturday evening enjoying a beer and watching some ncaa action. The problem is that the beer list is short and not offering much in terms of variety. We didn't have a bad time here, but it doesn't really set itself apart from the rest of the scene. Worth a shot on a crawl if you crave some sports.

Recently was here for a birthday happy hour and had a great time. We had the entire top floor for the party (the "hooch"). The space was very cozy and the food/drink specials were good. They offer specials daily (yes, including weekends!!!) Not sure what venue was here before, but I like this place and I will be back for those Moscow mules : )
