Catching Up with Philadelphia’s Best Food Truck Owners | Eater Philly

"One of the earliest new-wave food trucks in Philly, Sugar Philly launched in 2011 with two partners and after a couple years of desserts came to specialize in French macarons; at the 2013 food truck heyday they hit their stride—feeding 400-plus people at some events—and after more than a decade (during which the truck morphed into a storefront) the business closed last year as founder Daniel Tang sought a lifestyle change and moved into a chef-manager role at Jefferson Hospital in Cherry Hill." - Eater

I had a great experience at Sugar Factory, thanks to Clarissa’s amazing service. She was friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect throughout our visit. She really added to the overall vibe and made us feel taken care of. I also loved my drink the Lemonade Smash (without strawberry) was super refreshing, perfectly balanced, and exactly what I needed. Between the great service and delicious drinks, it was definitely an enjoyable experience. I’ll be back for sure!

We went on a Monday afternoon. We ordered the Brioche rolls as an appetizer. The rolls weren't warm and the cinnamon butter was cold, so it couldn't be spread. I ordered the Flaming Hot Cheetos burger. I liked the taste and it was big burger. The staff was welcoming.

OK, so I came here for my 17 year-old daughter‘s birthday and I must say the atmosphere is nice but the staff in the food is not what people think it is. I believe that is it is overhyped. I feel like the quality of the food is not Worth the price. It was me and Six children so my bill was a little hefty and there was a mandatory tip of $50 which I didn’t expect because they did not say anything about the mandatory tip. They just automatically added it to my bill which I didn’t mind but at least let the customer know that you’re adding a mandatory tip. Second, I feel like the food it’s regular. I ordered a pasta and it was disgusting so I did not eat while we was there, but I did allow my kids to enjoy themselves. They enjoyed their food, but while we was there, they said that they wish we had went to Applebee’s or Chili’s now I know Applebee’s isn’t quite as extravagant but quality food wise I feel like it’s better. And coming out of my daughter‘s mouth she’s the one who said that it is overhyped $40 for a non-alcoholic beverage is ridiculous and $50 for alcoholic beverage. It just blew my mind when I seen the prices. For it to be a kid friendly place there is no kids menu so your little kids would have to order adult portions. I don’t think I would return to this restaurant unless my kids absolutely requested it before my preference. I’ll stick to my regular places. Oh, and one more thing, there was a woman there who not even five minutes after being seated, came to our table, wanting us to take pictures with different poses. She went to develop every picture we took framed them and then asked us to pay $25 per picture if we wanted them which is also ridiculous. What is the point of taking an unnecessary amount of pictures And framing them and then asking us if we want to purchase it !? If we don’t purchase it, what do you do with our images? And again these questions did not come for me. These came from my 16 and 17 year-old children. We took our complementary photo and left it at that. My four year-old daughter had to use the bathroom and there was no tissue and none of the stalls we had to use napkins from our table MAJOR PROBLEM FOR ME! It was nice going somewhere new I love the decor. But I don’t think it’s worth coming here multiple times spending ridiculous amount of money for food you can get somewhere else at a cheaper price.

Finally got a chance to indulge in the establishment. I ordered spicy Thai Noodles and the other party had a burger. Everything was very tasty🤗 This is a kid-friendly place to. Took us a while to decide but once we ordered food came back quickly and hot. Will visit this place again and next time going back for one of their ice cream specials.

The restaurant's decor is captivating and beautiful. I love the Christmas theme addition as well. Even if it's dark and gloomy outside, the mood immediately brightens upon entering. I stopped by for a drink after work. I sat at the bar and was greeted by the bartender, Clarissa. She can make a drink! In fact, she made me several different drinks, all top-tier! The drink menu offers a variety to choose from. She was able to help me navigate what she thought would be good based on my preferences. Excellent drinks, great service! 👍🏼

This place was really cool and hope to visit again soon. Janet was an awesome waitress. She was warm and welcoming, had great suggestions to start with and very attentive. The atmosphere and the decor during the holidays are amazing. My kids 9 and 5 both had a great time and really enjoyed the shakes I highly recommend visiting if you haven’t already.

My son Aiden and I had an amazing experience at Sugar Factory, and a huge part of that was our waitress, Janet. From the moment we were seated, she was warm, friendly, and genuinely welcoming — the kind of energy that makes you feel instantly comfortable. Janet is truly a people person. She took the time to make sure we had everything we needed, answered all of our questions with patience, and went above and beyond to fully accommodate us. She made sure both of us felt taken care of, and her positive attitude added so much to our visit. Great service can make or break a dining experience, and Janet absolutely made ours. Because of her, our time at Sugar Factory felt special, relaxed, and enjoyable. We will definitely be back — and we’ll be asking for Janet! Thank you for such wonderful service! 💕 -Markesha

Google
I planned a lunch here with my niece on NYE since they had holiday decor and their usual crazy desserts. Our server Janet was great- friendly and just the right amount of attentive. The food was just okay- tasted fine but we expected more given the prices. More flavor, more excitement, not more portion. The decor and desserts were great.

Yelp
My Best Friend & I just went to Sugar Factory in Cherry Hill this past Saturday, 11/15/25, & we definitely enjoyed our time here! They had a Christmas pop up going on & the whole restaurant was decorated for the holiday season which was so cute! Unlike other Holiday pop ups I have gone to I felt this Holiday pop up had a lot of variety in both beverages & food options! Unfortunately I did not see a lot of GF options on the menu but everything was still so good! Our waitress was super sweet & very attentive! I ended up getting the Sangria Flight & loved all of my choices (see picture description for the options I chose) & for lunch I did the Jack Frost Sliders! I did not get them with the onions but they were still tasty! Would definitely go back!

Yelp
honestly everything pissed me off lol. we had a large group so that's always tough for the staff. i understand. they took a long time to get us water. by then i was very thirsty. the glass looked disgusting and scratched up but you can't expect perfect sanitation when eating at somebody else's house. i should've trusted my gut tho. there was toilet paper or something weird in there along with other trash and dregs. obvious unwashed cup. waiter didn't have a great attitude dealing with my family. that's expected with such a large group but it just was not cool. that said, due to my cup situation i couldn't eat and my stomach was turning like dale earnhardt foodwise, it was ok. i enjoyed the bite of thensignature burger that i had. i would get the burger again. and the doneness was correct so kudos to my chef. we didn't like the flatbread with hunks of crudely chopped tomatoes on it. also it was cold. fingerling potatoes good. most people complained about the steak lol. the chicken tenders and waffles looked ok. as far as timeliness of prep, our drinks were delivered just after 5pm. our food came out after 6pm -__- it's still a nice spot for the ambiance or if you have someone who's really interested in going here. but just do your research on what food items you'll like. and our big group wasn't handled well in my opinion. ambiance and general allure were great but they weren't on point at all for our visit.

Yelp
My rating is actually 3.5 -- My son and I visited the Sugar Factory location in Boston, MA. He liked it and when it came time for his birthday, he decided he wanted to have dinner there. We arrived (He, his father and I) without a reservation and were quickly sat at a table. However, because we brought a cake with us, we were told it was a $35 cake cutting fee!! (Why would we need them to cut the cake?!? Ridiculous!!) We were able to quickly order and receive our food. We ordered: -- Oreo Madness Insane Milkshake -- Cookies'n cream shake served in a chocolate sprinkle mug, topped with a Oreo® cupcake tower, whipped cream, Hershey's®, Oreo® bar, chocolate sauce and powdered sugar -- Ocean Blue Goblet -- Adventure awaits in the deep blue sea. You'll be reminded of the ocean nearby when you see all the sharks swimming in this Hpnotiq cocktail! -- Sugar Factory Rainbow Sliders -- Classic sliders served on colorful buns with American cheese, crispy onions, pickles and signature Sugar Factory sauce. Accompanied by a complimentary Sugar Factory Duck! -- Strawberry Cadillac Reposado Margarita Goblet -- Cruise into sweet strawberry sunshine with this Villa One Reposado margarita! Crafted with Villa One Reposado, Grand Marnier, strawberries, triple sec, fresh lime juice, simple syrup, and a dash of sweet & sour. A Cadillac margarita goblet wouldn't be complete without a garnish of pink Cadillac gummies, gummy apple rings, and key lime fruit gummy slices on the rim! | Designed and tasted by John Varvatos and Nick Jonas -- Cajun Chicken Penne Alfredo -- Spicy Cajun Alfredo sauce with roasted garlic, basil, and parmesan cheese -- Chicken and Waffle -- Buttermilk battered fried chicken (or crispy chicken tenders), classic vanilla bean waffle, whipped butter, maple syrup | I chose the chicken tenders this time!! The food was brought in good timing. We weren't waiting too long for any items to be brought to us. Our server was attentive with more drinks or other items such as napkins and to go containers. The staff brought our cake out from the fridge and put a candle on it and sang Happy Birthday!! Absolutely wonderful. Since we didn't do any cake cutting, the fee was not applied. The overall ambiance was nice as I think a couple of the other tables were also celebrating life milestones as well, so the noise and atmosphere was average in noise. As with all Sugar Factory locations it was VERY EXPENSIVE -- I spent well over $300

Yelp
Service was super slow, water had a strange taste, refills were not offered for water or ordered drinks(unsweetened tea). Food was sub par along with service, ordered 2 pretzels and a "Christmas" tree appetizer for the table. The pretzels arrived but the "Christmas tree" app came out after our main dishes were served. We asked to pass on the "Christmas tree" app me were told it was not an option. The mains were nothing to write home about, the Grinches Alfredo had a chemical taste to it, the hot Cheeto smashed burger lacked taste and was over greasy, margarita flat bread was rubbery, cheesesteak egg rolls were filled with oily grease, and chicken sliders were flavorless. The only main that was on par was the red sauce platter. All in all the glitz and glamour of the restaurant does not make up for the lack of service and good quality. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.

Yelp
Was hoping for a better experience but it wasn't that great. Overly priced sub par food, milkshakes were sky high but mostly whipped cream, milkshake wasn't even filled to the top after you take the slice of cake off of it. Interior decor was cool and it gave me some opportunity to do a mini photo shoot for my daughter who I celebrated her 13th birthday for. But service was slow, and the waitress kept disappearing, very slow to get us refills etc. it honestly didn't seem like they were fully staffed and they were short on waitstaff. Ordered burgers and fries and they were just okay, nothing spectacular. Ordered the rainbow sliders for the birthday girl and she picked at them, they were burnt. It was an experience but I wouldn't go back again. The food and service wasn't worth the money. The highlight was then bringing out a sparkler and sang happy birthday to my daughter but even the desert they brought out was nothing but whipped cream and the ice cream had no flavor. Next time I'd go just to take photos and leave. Food is not worth it. It's crossed off my bucket list of restaurants but would not come back.

Yelp
We were blown away by this restaurant the way it's decorated it's a really cool spot to celebrate a birthday or a special occasion! We sat at the bar to have our desert because, for the regular tables you need to make a reservation as it's a super popular spot! The music was on point too! Such a fun restaurant! I want to try the food next time!

Yelp
This was the most disappointing dining experience I can ever recall having. Not only were the desserts at The Sugar Factory beyond disappointing, the service was off in every respect. I have worked in the industry for many years and dined tonight with my restaurant owner brother and his family. The staff needed to be cued for their every move. Water refills, utensils when desserts were placed, clearing of plates, orders being taken in a timely manner - all of it required our pursuing your team and directing the action. Zero table maintenance, zero foreknowledge of guests needs, zero sense of urgency, zero support for the server, from the runner, candy shop retailer or the woman in the white shirt whose role was not clear. After a decent enough set of entrees, which were better than I expected for what I thought was a dessert destination, we were met with a brownie sundae featuring boring and bland - definitely not house made ice cream - over a stale chocolate cake, not a warm and fudgy brownie. The pink "hot" chocolate was watery, lukewarm and unfinished by my little one. The giant cookie monster shake was strange and spackled with weird crunch. The Sugar Factory was a let down and the crash was not from sugar, as we hoped. So sad.

Yelp
I was invited to come celebrate my besties birthday by her younger sister! This place is clearly for the young for Instagram or Tik Tok Moments! The food offerings were standard and looked over processed - I stuck w/Chips and Salsa! I see the business model of this place is the kids will bring the parents and the parents are offered watered down and overpriced sugary drinks! The booth rental..Yes..rental was $300..it comes with a XL Sundae and a Tik Tok Birthday Dance....No Thank You to both! Our Server Janet was lovely..but the Sugar Factory has no need to worry about me walking through the door again!

Yelp
Today was a treat! Literally my shake was tall as a mountain top! Yummy and delicious! This is definitely a place for family and friends, the kids thought they were in candy land. Inside nicely decorated with candy and holiday decorations. Our waitress was very nice and patient because we really couldn't decide what to get everything looks so good you just can't decide. As we were eating we took a family photo and received a complimentary holiday photo. How nice!

Yelp
Menu didn't match what was advertised online. Food was descent. Gotta give it one more shot to provide an additional review on a weekend to better compare.

Yelp
This place was nice. The blast of colors made the vibe really energetic. The food was ok, I feel like the burger patties were too cooked. The service was great! Janet was also kind enough to celebrate my moms birthday, keep up the good work!

Yelp
One star because ZERO stars isn't an option.. We arrived with a party of 15 to basically empty restaurant. The hostess complained immediately about the size of our party. She then began to talk about us to her coworkers. has it not been for the fact it was a birthday celebration we would have left immediately. Unfortunately the mother of the birthday child had her dinner ruined by the staff talking about us. Would love to hear from corporate regarding this HORRIBLE experience.

Yelp
My beautiful wife and I are Gen X, but my wife believes she's as old as her eighth graders. She asked to go to the Sugar Factory in AC for her birthday. We were up here and within walking distance so we thought we would try it out. Let me preference they were very short staffed, but our server was doing the best she could. We started with the Dashers pretzel off the Christmas menu. It's okay, but it tasted a little like a Pizzelle cookie. I'm guessing Dasher is in to pizzelles. Anyway they gave us the milkshake first and, I'm thinking 8oz of milkshake with a bunch of whipped cream and candy. The wife got the Tis the season insane milkshake. I got the classic chocolate milkshake. They look great and taste good, but I wouldn't call them milkshakes. Milkshakes are almost always cool. Mine was like a really good Hershey's chocolate milk. The eggnog tastes like eggnog, but again milkshakes always have ice cream. If they had ice cream it melted before they hit the table. I really liked the 3 cheese grilled cheese with fries and the wife thought her sugar factory signature hamburger and fries (she forgot to upgrade the onion rings) was pretty good too. She still wants to come here for her birthday, but probably will not be getting a milkshake.

Yelp
2.5 stars. I wanted to like it here. Saw the recommendation for it on a S Jersey FB group because I wanted to take my teens somewhere festive without driving in the city. Food was ok but waaaay overpriced (I regretted not getting dinner elsewhere first). The coleslaw with my fish and chips had no flavor, there was no salt and pepper on the table so with the slow service didn't bother to ask. No malt vinegar either which is weird if you're going to serve fish and chips. Fries were room temp. Sliders were good. The place was really cute and def a good place for a celebrations. Tons of bdays there the night we went. Our server was nice and sweet. As for the dessert and drinks, that was the main reason we went. Although I couldn't believe how some of the cocktails were almost 50 dollars?? (Granted they are served in like fish bowls). My daughter liked her ridiculous Barbie shake and my son's Oreo Sunday was ginormous. First time ever packing up dessert but if you're gonna spend twenty dollars for each dessert, you're taking it home! My drink (margarita) was festive and cute so that made me happy. So for a meal for three, including tip it was 190. I'm guessing I would have spent close to that in the city but yeah I might be just telling myself (and my husband) that to make us feel better. Haha. If we came for just drinks and dessert, it'd still be a lot. But if you wanna try something new and get cute pics, this is a good suburban option.

E M.

Yelp
Really bad food (hamburger rolls so dry they crumble if picked up, dry chicken). Food and apps come at the exact same time, what restaurant does that? Shakes are fine, ice cream isn't good, the cup cakes and brownies and whatever else they pile on top aren't good either, but nice for a picture I guess. The prices are insanely high compared to the quality of the food. Save your money and go get your diarrhea from a Friendly's if you can still find one!

Gracelyn H.

Yelp
This place is shit. Actually my friends were all throwing up and shitting after. Super rude staff. I have a concussion from being hit in the head multiple time by the waiter cause the tables are so close together. Literally worst place I've ever eaten.

Yelp
First time visiting Sugar House, and definitely wont be my last. The ambiance is a breath of fresh air and can make you feel like a kid again. I initially thought that this was just a kids place, however, it is definitely not. It is definitely a place for both. The menu has a variety of choices from Burgers, Club sandwiches, to Pasta. They also have a professional photographer that goes around taking pictures if you would like. She was very kind and snapped an amazing picture of my daughter with her milkshake. Yes, you pay for the picture, however it does come with an amazing frame and yes, i did purchase that picture of my daughter. Our waitress Alicia M, was by fare amazing. You talk about customer service. She was that plus more. She was very friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, timely and conscientious. I ordered onion rings with my food, however it came out with French fries. I did not even have to say something to her, as soon as she saw it, she was on top of it immediately, which is something that you don't see very often. With it being busy, she was very attentive and ensure that she checked up on us. GREAT JOB ALICIA!!!! Should anyone choose to visit, make sure you asked for her, you wont be disappointed. I ordered the steak sandwich melt, which was seared thinly sliced steak with caramelized onions, sautéed mushrooms, and herb mayo, topped with melted provolone and Parmesan cheese on a toasted baguette. Now, the seasoning of the sandwich with everything in it was amazing, the only failure to the sandwich was it really had no meat on it, you tasted more of everything else than the meat, which is sad because it would be even more better if it did. Overall, great spot for lunch, brunch, and dinner, weather with family and/or friends. It also has a bar that you can also sit at.

Yelp
Terrible experience. We ended up walking out before ordering. We had a 6:30 reservation for the family to celebrate a special occasion- we weren't seated until 7:05. Bathrooms were dirty, missing toilet paper, toilet seat was barely attached. Waiter was friendly though. He informed us that they were sold out of the item which of course happened to be the one my daughter was looking to order. While looking over the menu the lights turned off and the restaurant started blasting music at an insanely loud level, scaring our kids. We were fed up at that point and left.

Yelp
The sugar factory in this location, was horrible and I don't recommend. I know alot of family's go here for birthdays and date nights but I will never return here. 1. The place is really small so they have tables all over the place, it was a mess. I asked to be moved and they forgot about me and my partner we sat in a cold area near a window for 45mis I was so close to walking out. 2. After being moved Some random waiter noticed we was not being served after 25mins go by. 3. We order and the food comes but we have nothing to eat it with, we noticed They did not give us forks, knife or napkins. we are just sitting there waiting while our food gets cold 3. I asked my waiter for a fork and he brings only 1 to table of two people. He would go missing and not check on the table I just got pissed off, like that just ridiculous 4. The food was mid, I ordered pasta Alfredo and it just tasted like water and noodles it was disgusting I didn't even eat it. The chicken sliders and chicken and waffle we're OK 5. The bathroom was disgusting I couldn't even use it I had a really bad experience was not worth the price we paid I normally tip good but the waiter is lucky it was Valentine's Day so I gave him something better then nothing. I went to the AC sugar factory and had the best time I would rather go there then to go here. I didn't even want to take pictures here thats how upset I got and yes I'm just a girl thats a big deal .

Finian B.

Yelp
Food is extremely overpriced, will charge you a cake fee if you want to bring in your own cake. Even if the never inform you of this policy. Also, I don't like my grandkids eating all that food dye. Money trap!!!

Yelp
Recently celebrated my granddaughter's 12th birthday at the Sugar Factory in Cherry Hill, NJ...Alicia and Lourdes were our servers, both seemed to know what we needed before we had to ask! The atmosphere, food, and service went way beyond my expectations. If anyone is looking for a place to celebrate a birthday whether child or adult or just for a bite to eat, this is the place to go! Food is great! Thanks to the servers and staff for a wonderful time!!!

Yelp
This was the perfect place to celebrate my son's 6th birthday. The kids loved everything. The milkshakes are huge and have tons of different sweets on them. The rainbow burgers are adorable and perfect for kids. The appetizer sampler was also a hit. I enjoyed my burger and the drinks were good as well. It may be a bit overpriced but the service was great. The decor was perfect and the presentation of the food was exactly what I expected.

Ashley J.

Yelp
Do not waste your money here. I went to celebrate my friend's birthday and it was not good at all. We waited over an hour to order drinks. It took another 20 minutes to get the drinks. When our drinks arrived to the table, they were warm and the ice was melted. The drinks are at least $20 each and are small. When the food finally came out an hour later, one the five meals did not come out. we waited 15 minutes until our waitress came back to our table. We asked where one of the dinners were. She ordered a salmon salad. 10 minutes later, the waitress came back and asked would she like to order something else with no reason of why. My friend declined the offer and asked for another drink instead. As we ate our food, it was less than desirable. I ordered a burger and the roll was very stale as pictured. The burger came with cheese sauce on it and I thankfully asked for it on the side. The turkey club was a mess and looked like cafeteria food and my friend couldn't even eat it. It took over an hour for us to get our check. The final straw was when I found a short black hair in my drink, and none of us at the table had black hair. I went up to the manager who was in the front seating people. I told her what happen and she was apologetic. I told her it was not her fault as I seen the restaurant packed and barely any waitresses and one bartender behind the bar. The manager later came to our table and accommodated us on some of the check which was very nice. We were all looking forward to coming here and we were very disappointed. Do not waste your money here you pay for the atmosphere and the hype not the food or drinks. It also smelt like marijuana in there so bad even in the bathrooms and there were even men outside smoking it. I do not recommend this place at all. I hope all sugar factories aren't like this.

Amanda R.

Yelp
FOOD WAS NASTY SERVICE WAS NASTY AND OVERALL WAS A HORRIBLE TIME! Reserved for a party of 10 they sat us didn't even give us enough menus or even enough chairs they asked if I needed a high chair for my son I said yes please and didn't get one had to ask 4 TIMES!! Yet still didn't get one my mother in law had to ask the cleaning guy for one and he immediately brought one I wish I caught his name! Adwoa was our server and she did not care one bit about us she always had a neutral face disappeared would come back here and there to check on us to not even let us finish a sentence and keep it moving .. Definitely will not be going back wish I looked at reviews before we had went for my boyfriend's birthday the one in Atlantic City is SOO MUCH better. I think because tip is already included they just act however they want .. definitely not a fun experience corporate needs to shut that one down. Definitely giving the sugar factory a bad name .. keep it in Atlantic City ..

Yelp
So I had high hopes for sugar factory when I first opened. It looked fun and sparkly. Unfortunately this place is all flash and no substance. The food is WAY overpriced for what it is. I'm not saying it is simply expensive - it is cheap food with gimmicks. Decorative glasses - filled with milkshakes you can buy at any diner. Opulent looking Sundays -with bulk bought cheap ice cream (think Turkey Hill). The food is double the price of the nearby cheesecake factory and of worse quality. They have colorful sliders as an appetizer - but while the sliders are Instagram ready, the burgers themselves are dry and taste like cardboard. When the place first opened, instead of having menus, all of the tables just had QR codes that linked to a PDF of a menu. This assumes that everyone has a smartphone with a QR scanner, which is mostly true, but the print was small making ordering impossible. Shortly after the place opened, it was closed temporarily due to health code violations. It is mostly the food quality and the prices that drive this review down. The only reason I added back one star is because the staff seems ok. It's not horrible service, but also nothing remarkable.

Brian

Yelp
Service is slow, people that work there are rude. I went to the one in Delaware and it was way better. Guess next time I will go back to that one.

Yelp
Our expectations were low, but they somehow managed to dissapoint us beyond what we couldve imagined. Service was horrific from the first moment we walked in when it took them 10 minutes to seat us while staring at an open table. Once we sat down, I noticed my plate and fork had dried food stuck to them, so it was apparent the kitchen isnt very clean or well managed which put both of us off. After waiting 20 min to get our order taken, we were hoping things would turn around.... not sure where the hope was coming from, because our chips and salsa came out with salsa that looked and tasted expired. We sent it back and the waitress gave us a nasty side eye like she was annoyed. The food finally came along with our drinks and it was just sub-par. Not worth the money at all. Horrific, chaotic, early 2010s energy. My wife and I laughed about how bad it was until we eventually paid the check and realized they didnt take off the chips and salsa.... Overall never step foot in this establishment.

Yelp
Food like a 1/5 Service is 4/5 Ambiance 4/5 I read the reviews before going with my wife and kids. And yes, all the reviews are right. Overpriced mediocre food. Applebees and TGIF definitely have better food. The only thing that can't compete is obviously the desserts. Our service was great and it really was more for the gram and to take cute pics. Now that I checked it off my checklist, not coming back.

Me & my boyfriend Alex went into this joint 'The Sugar Factory' & it had a lot of different selections of candy, it also has an exquisite place to eat inside, everyone was so polite and friendly. I was so amazed at everything, & I'm sure you will be when you visit too! Get Ya Sugar On!!

Yelp
Absolutely the worst dining experience I have ever had. We made a reservation and were seated 45 minutes LATER. No one came to our table for another 15 minutes. Our water tasted like pond water. Our waitress was rude and slammed our water cups and dinner plates down. She elbowed three of the kids throughout dinner. We asked for an additional plate and when no one brought it, we asked two more people and still no one brought us an extra plate after 15 minutes. None of the food was good. This was my daughter's 15th birthday celebration with her friends and it was a complete disappointment.

Yelp
The decor is fun and bright and great for 8-16 yr olds--very IG-able. Huge videowalls showing celebs enjoying Sugar Factory locations across the country. Cute, colorful drinks (alcoholic, non-alcoholic and shakes) that cost $12-40! We had their signature burgers (nothing special) and didn't have much taste, their signature fries and sampler platter--everything fried and overcooked!! We had a Groupon that was a gift, and that was a big problem for the manager and the GM. Had to argue with them and call the gift giver to get them to honor it. THEY AUTOMATICALLY ADD 20% GRATUITY!!

Yelp
I would give it a zero if I could!!!! Extremely disappointed!!!! We will never come back. The food was cold and was terrible. The donut on the milkshake was hard as a rock, must have been a year old. Way overpriced for the quality and the service was terrible.

Yelp
Rude slow and not worth the money for anything but dessert. You need a reservation but you can't make it online - you can make every other locations online. Called for hours in the am to find out how to make reservation - NO ANSWER. Got there and OMG - hostess horrible - waitress forgot about us - other people had food and shakes before I had coffee - our food sat at the bar forever. The food is meh - the dessert is the only reason to come.

Yelp
The fact that you can't call the number that's up on your page is unprofessional. Zero stars.

Yelp
Our server was rude, and clearly didn't want to be there; wish we'd gotten the other one working that night, because she seemed much better at her job. I get that this place is going for an "over the top" vibe with the crystal chandeliers, neon lights, flowers on the walls, and fancy cocktails, but it just felt elitist. And if you're going to go big like that, why are you serving the food on cheap plastic plates and cups from the dollar store? Now, all of this is forgivable, as long as they do well with the most important thing, which is the actual food. First, the complimentary water as very chemical tasting tap water. Second, almost half of the menu is burgers and steaks. I bring this up because I don't think I'm wrong in believing that most of the civilized world would prefer a beer to go along with those entrees, as opposed to a fish bowl sized tropical drink with 2 giant lollipops sticking out of it. With that in mind, there were only 3 beer choices from the bar. I had 2 Coronas that were $10 each. I know restaurants are always going to charge higher for alcohol, but I could have walked a block over and got an entire 6 pack of Corona for $8.99 at the liquor store. Additionally, the lime that went with the Corona had brown edges and was less than fresh. The onion rings were rubbery, and were clearly a cheap brand that comes frozen in a bag, the burger was cooked ok, but had barely any flavor, and the bun was stale and falling apart before I even picked it up. A Big Mac from McDonald's would have been better. The business model for this place is obvious: hire a bunch of celebrities to "create" elaborate cocktails, and have extravagant prices to make it seem like the food must be great, otherwise why would they charge so much? Don't fall for it; this place is all style, and no substance. If you want to SEVERELY overpay for terrible food and pretend to hang out with celebrities that are all over the TV screens in an effort to impress your friends, then this place is for you. And if this place is for you, then you need to find better, less superficial friends.

Yelp
Dingy broken tables, half hearted and discombobulated service paired with ridiculously overpriced mediocre food. I would be surprised if they ever had a repeat customer...I wanted to like it but it was a flop. How do you mess up a smash burger? It wasn't good!

Yelp
Private Party Room. Thanks for a great experience Gayle from planning with menu accommodations to day of service. The space looked amazing and I was able to add a few personal touches (neon happy birthday , marquee #10 and signage) we had a table outside of the room that was a little further away from the action but I believe service to that table was satisfactory as well The staff member that made the celebration basket greeted me and certainly got the celebrants approval. It was gorgeous with much appeal. Food was served at great temperature and presentation was on point. The only thing I didn't get a clear understanding of was the beverages and food packages I naturally thought it was included so I would say next time have pitchers of water on the table in addition to the water brought out in glasses. Bar staff provided the extras and it was very close for adults wanted an alternative beverage. Brandon kudos to you as our lead server! Anyone have questions or concerns I would love to share more of the group experience (cmeventplanners@gmail.com) overall it was great for our 38!

Yelp
We came down to the sugar factory in Cherry Hill to celebrate my daughter's 13th birthday . Super cute spot, food was surprisingly good, and our server was amazing... I do wish that the floor weren't so slippery almost like it had a thin layer of grease on it and I worried that someone in my party was going to fall. We wanted to order ice cream but we were told that there was issues with the freezer and the ice cream came out looking like soup so we didn't get to have the full experience but the drinks and food were awesome and we can't wait to come back.

Yelp
Not the Vibe After living in the Orlando area and doing 4+ birthdays at the Sugar Factory at the Eye, this location does not pass for energy, culture, or excitement. I have never been to a restaurant that lacks celebration like this. The music was too chill and the staff was inattentive and multiple customers waiting at the door to even be greeted. We waited to hear greeted for 10 min, with a reservation while multiple staff just looked at us from the bar, stocking straws. The photographer acted like she couldn't even hear me when I tried to get her attention to find the hostess. Just not the atmosphere that was expected. What a birthday let down.

Yelp
Had a great experience this evening! Im glad I tried it on my own vs believing previous comments. Service was great, food great, drink great! A woman named Cola was so nice and sat me at the bar and got me a drink right away while I waited for my friends. Zoe the bartender was a gem. Definitely give this location a shot, much better than driving north or south!

Yelp
I am writing to express my sincere disappointment with our experience on April 1 at the sugar factory in Cherry Hill NJ. My cousins were visiting from Canada and asked for a food experience and I thought of Sugar Factory unfortunately we came on a day there was only one server and what I would later learn a manger on duty. Our server was great but she was alone serving multiple tables and bartending. I actually felt bad for her. Our food and drinks took forever and when they arrived our appetizer looked thrown together at best. See pictures below. The waitress apologized but I honestly felt bad she was placed in this position. We had to get up and ask the manager who spent most of the time in the candy area and doing very little to assist for utensils, ketchup, salt and pepper. If you have cameras please watch the footage that will verify my account of what happened. I didn't want to make the experience worse by complaining so we ate, paid our bill and went to have dessert as Cheesecake Factory. When I finally reached the manager after calling several times the following day and she informed me that she was there I was truly shocked. But what was more shocking was the manager's attitude and her refusal to give an email address to share my concerns and pictures; she told me I had to come in and show her the pictures. It is my hope that this review helps to improve the customer service and experience at the restaurant.

Yelp
Over hyped and they will be closed within a year if you ask me. Not going to bash my server because the issues stem from a over her position. It looks like there is no one really running the establishment. Food took forever, they comp'd us free fries and 2 milkshakes without asking. No silverware at our table. Finally went to another prepped table and took them from there. Seemed to be a hold up at every station that slowed everything down and caused chaos for the wait staff. Got the bill and the "mandatory" 20% tip was already factored into the bill. I always tip 20% and would have tonight to not take things out on my server. However, who makes 20% mandatory? A restaurant that knows it's giving horrible service and knows the tips would be low if they didn't. Highly doubt that the 20% was mandatory on the check when they first opened. You'll probably go once to try it out and doubt you'll ever bother to go back. Too many other better options for the money you're spending.

Yelp
Food was ok but the service was exceptional. The place was a vibe and had great music. The waiters went above and beyond to ensure excellent customer service.. I highly recommend.

Yelp
Food sucked, but the desserts were delicious. Service was nothing to rave about. Inside was super cool.

Yelp
Don't waste your time going here. The service was horrible, the food was not good and there was old food and dirty fork on the floor under my table. Your party will be squished together like a can of sardines. You are better off going anywhere else other than this overpriced place. Service- they were super slow bringing out our food. They kept forgetting my son's fries. They forgot to bring me my soda and it tasted like chemicals. The waitress was ok at first but she quickly became annoying by constantly coming over asking for water when no one needed it. My mother-in-law ordered Buffalo wings and they were cold. She told the waitress and when she came back you could tell they microwaved her entire plate. The celery was no longer crispy. It was a wiggly cooked mess. My salmon salad wasn't good either. The salmon was way over cooked and the lettuce part of the salad wasn't good either. My daughter's Alfredo was nasty and she left it there on the table. I have been to different sugar factory's and it's way better than this location. Save your money, do not go here.

Yelp
A few of us got drinks. $47.00 x 4. Omg. We didnt look at the menu. Everything was so expensive. Food was ok. Took forever. Worst thing, the restaurant automatically puts a 20% tip on the check. Server begged: "Would you like to leave more tip since the owner takes 3% of my tip for himself." My ice tea was $6. We came for lunch. They pride themselves in a wall that says "fell in love" people take their pictures in front of it. The plexiglass covering it is noticably broken and taped. Atmosphere is like a Friendly's. Not impressed.

Yelp
I love the drinks here and food but the party atmosphere sometimes lacks, sometimes it's packed with a good amount of people with plenty of staff to celebrate or order with but sometimes it's completely empty and awkward. If you have enough people in your party not to care or just want really really good drinks you'll love it.

Yelp
You go to Sugar Factory for an experience you can share on social media. You don't go for the food. The ambiance was made for Instagram. The restaurant is bright and shiny. It has flower walls with neon signs under which you can take pictures. The drinks were made for Instagram, not for drinking. My wife and I got a "goblet" drink- an alcoholic beverage poured into a very large glass, which cost $46. The glass had dry ice at the bottom, which created a smoke-like effect once the server poured the drink in. This looked cool. But dry ice is solid carbon dioxide. When you drink something with dry ice in it, the carbon dioxide goes up your nose. Like when you drink soda, but stronger. This made for a good picture, but a difficult drink to enjoy. The food was also made more for eyes than mouths. I got a smashburger. The server warned me that they put cheese on top of the burger. No problem, I thought. Cheese usually goes on top of burgers. That's how cheeseburgers work. Not so. The server poured cheese sauce on top of the bun, which made the burger impossible to eat with my hands. The burger was also not a smash burger. It was a lightly cooked thin burger. No smash to be found. The fries were good, though Our service was also good. Our server was prompt and responsive. Long story short: you go here for the experience. Not the food. And it's an experience you only need to have once, if ever.
