Google
Fantastic coffee shop! Great service, great staff, and tasty treats. Staff was happy to help with recommendations and everything we tried was delicious. Mayan mocha was not too sweet, had a deliciously spicy kick, and was available hot or iced. Pastries looked great too. We tried the spinach and cheese croissant and it was so well done. Highly recommend!

Google
This coffee shop has a lot of personality. Reminds me of old Sugarhouse and how chill and laidback it was. If Sugarhouse Coffee was a girl, she would be a funny stoner who draws all over her sneakers and rides a longboard. The decor and art is delightful and eclectic. Usually, it is a long line, but the service is above and beyond. There's a barista here who is so hilarious and cool, I applaud his energy. It's refreshing how genuine and positive the staff is. 🙏 P.S. Bring quarters!! There is a sticker machine!!!

Google
This is a really nice coffee shop; it is kind of hidden, but it is good. Their cold brew is really good, and I tried the Cuban Revolver, which was good too! The place has great seating for a big group.

Raza Patel

Google
Great coffee, funky atmosphere (in the best way), coffee is strong and never bitter. Highly recommend the Cuban revolver

Naitika

Google
Great atmosphere and great coffee.! They have a ton of different menu items as well if you are not after coffee and what something more like tea or a smoothie. You can get some pretty health food options here as well. They are definitely one of the better coffee houses in salt lake and one of the best in sugar house

Google
Love this spot, the vibes of the place are very community driven and it also has life with a sizable crowd remaining constant. The coffee and food is alright, but their matcha is delicious. Overall, I would recommend this spot on the energy alone! Additionally, this coffee shop is very LGBTQIA+ friendly, which is a bonus!

Vagabond Prime

Google
Great, locally owned coffee shop that openly supports the arts and LGBTQ folks. Coffee is pretty tasty, food items are mostly great, and the outdoor patio is wonderful in the summer. The staff have been delightful every time we've gone in, and even though it's a bit of a college hang my wife and I have always been warmly welcomed even though we're clearly approaching retirement. Lovely shop in a lovely neighborhood, it's one of our favorite places to visit!

Google
My favorite cafe! Sometimes gets a bit loud to work in (but it’s a cafe so that’s expected), but the workers, food, drinks, amount of seats, plugs, etc. is just amazing! The trixie smoothie is my favorite drink and I love the pesto grilled cheese
google avatar

Yelp
Great coffee shop. The coffee is excellent, staff is friendly and they are strong supporters of the LGBTQ+ community.

Yelp
I ordered an iced blueberry matcha. You know when you look at your drink and you know it's not gunna taste good? It was lukewarm, way too milky, and the blueberry tasted very artificial.

Miray P.

Yelp
Their coffee is good. They have lots of seating including a back porch area. The wifi is fast, too, so that's good. The parking situation stressed me out a bit ngl bc you are only supposed to park there for 2 hours. I get it but also parking around SugarHouse seems stressful so idk where else I would move my car to. Also, please add more pastries and desserts! Sandwiches etc. the savory stuff on the menu looked good but more pastries would be super nice. A lot of people love grabbing a sweet treat while working. I am one of those people lol

Yelp
Great coffee and a great atmosphere! I was finally in the area and able to pop in for a coffee. I got a 12 oz oat milk latte and it was very good! Ordering was easy and everyone I encountered was nice. I didn't have to wait long for my beverage but I really loved the inclusive atmosphere. Would definitely sit here and hang out if I didn't order my coffee to-go. They also have a food menu I'll try next time. Highly recommend!!

Yelp
The coffee selection is soooo good! I got the Aussie latte (always will go for an affogato), it's pretty strong, light sweet, but they were more than willing to adjust the sweetness. The bagel was simple but sooooo good. The service, 10/10. Cracking jokes with the bearded fella that was working the register at 9am on Sunday morning. Love the vibes here. Little gifts to buy are SO CUTE!

Yelp
This is the gayest place ever!! I say that, as a queer person myself, with joy. Not only is this a coffee shop, but it's pretty much the hangout location for folks who want to talk about comic books or writers who are pouring over their latest manuscript tucked into a corner or, heck, anybody really. That's the appeal-there's something here for everyone. I wasn't in a coffee mood being that it was an evening get together that I joined, so I had a London Fog, which was delicious. I noticed a fella in our group had some kind of drink with whipped cream and red glitter on top. It was a thing of beauty and I might have to order that next time....whatever it was. There's a large parking lot and a pretty decent sized patio that looks like it would be fun in warmer weather. I can see myself becoming a regular here.

Yelp
A great spot thats local, open late and has lots of seating to work in. Great coffeehouse vibes and background noise with yummy drinks. Parking is limited to 2hrs but its a great place to stop by and catch up with friends or get some work done in!

Yelp
I'm late on the review but sugarhouse coffee be one of my favorites hella, brekkie sandwich with some bacon & a Nice Karmel Sutra Latte, a cool vibe where you can read, journal or even work.

Yelp
The best place to work remotely from! WiFi is consistent enough and there are many spots. It can be pretty busy. I usually like lavender latte or getting the regular coffee. I've tried some of the pastries with friends and it's always a delight.

Yelp
Great coffee, great coworking vibe, and super friendly staff Spensir gave perhaps the warmest greetings I've ever seen in a coffee shop I loved their bulletproof coffee (they all it something else, but it's coffee, MCT oil, & butter) - something you don't see too often in coffee shops They also have a breakfast bowl, which is very reasonably priced and also keto-friendly
google avatar

Yelp
It's a great little place. The vibe is good and the staff was excellent and very friendly. Coffee was very good and tasteful

Yelp
This is the spot I always bring my friends and family when they're in town. In fact, my family all lives out of state and Sugarhouse Coffee is always their first request of places to go when they're in town visiting. It's alway priority, usually on the first day they arrive, to come check out this spot. The staff is so friendly and welcoming, and there's always a friendly face with a cheeky comment to greet you at the counter. Their food is delicious and so are their drinks. Although I'm not a coffee drinker myself, they have smoothie and other delicious beverage offerings. I'm an avocado toast girl and their options are amazing. I love their avocado, lemon pepper, and cottage cheese toast. I've had their juices, smoothies, breakfast bowls; everything on the menu here is classically delicious. You can't go wrong. They also support and celebrate other local businesses such as Sweet Hazel & Co and local kombucha companies. They have plenty of both vegan and gluten free options. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, although I typically try to sit outdoors because their outdoor seating gets the best sunshine in the morning on a sunny day and it's my favorite place to sit, no matter the season.

Yelp
The atmosphere and space are inviting, and it is easy to hang out. The service was friendly and helpful, as it was my first time. I had the Mediterranean Bagel, which was a great combo and tasty. Their drip coffee was delicious.

Christina B.

Yelp
I LOVE this place! Not only is it the cutest coffee shop ever, their food and coffee is delicious. Everyone who works there are so kind and willing to help you. I got the Cuban revolver coffee which was delicious and packed a punch, along with the breakfast bowl. I am gluten free and they were educated and said cross contamination can still happen but they try their absolute hardest to keep it separate. They are super inclusive, definitely a safe space. I will be coming back anytime I'm in SLC.

Yelp
This place is popular! So many happy customers all over- sitting inside, in the patio, and at tables scattered throughout the parking lot! I was so happy they had a pretty big parking lot, by the way. The cashier was super nice and even the barista behind him joined in on our friendly conversation. There were signs everywhere about this being a safe space and it really felt that way. I got a Turkey pesto sandwich which was alright. My bread was quite cold and I couldn't taste the pesto. Tasted like a sandwich I'd throw together at home. But I was pretty impressed with my non-dairy hot chocolate! Usually oat milk is gross in hot cocoa when I order it at coffee shops. But it actually tasted nice here! And I loved the foam on top!

Yelp
Without a doubt the best chagaccino in Salt Lake City, a must if you're in the area! The place is always packed and the food also looks incredible. Would highly recommend!

Yelp
We popped in for a quick coffee and pastry with friends, and this is a very inviting space. There is covered seating outside with murals on the wall, as well as games to play inside. It is a welcoming space for the LGBTQ community and there is also merchandise to purchase such as mugs and hoodies. It also seems that they serve meals for breakfast and sandwiches/wraps that one might get for lunch. My friends enjoyed their respective coffees, and my pastry, a pineapple coconut muffin, was moist/good consistency. I would definitely return and encourage others to patronize!

Yelp
I love coming here. They have lots of seating, friendly barista's with personality and charm, and delicious drinks with an expansive menu. The chia pudding is some of the best I've had as well as the quiche.

Yelp
I love this coffee shop so much. I'm from Southern California and often work in SLC. I have visible tattoos, neon color hair, and latino, and I usually have a hard time feeling comfortable in Utah (with eyes often darting right at me for my appearance.) I was only looking for a coffee shop to sit and do some work in, and i was so pleasantly surprised to see a pride flag on the window. Before stepping in i knew i found a safe place. The inside is just as comfortable, with hand painted art for sale on the walls and colorful merch on display. The Batista who took my order (i apologize for not recalling his name) was so kind and told everyone to make sure they had a wonderful day and to stay hydrated. I got a dirty chai with almond milk, but that's just because I'm a creature of habit. their menu was really good, and i think the next time I'll probably have the Golden Graham. Definitely recommend, and I'll definitely be back

Yelp
Best coffeeshop and best coffee in SLC - the people are amazing, and it's not BEIGE, beige and white, or beige and brown.

Yelp
the best local coffee shop in Utah. (imo) Sugar house coffee is one of the cutest coffee shops I've ever been in. It is truly the heart of Sugarhouse. I love how accepting it is and the amazing employees who make your experience truly a treat. Highly recommend to anyone who is looking to try a new coffee shop. Drinks: 4.7/5 Customer Service: 4.6/5 Experience: 5/5 Prices: 4/5

Yelp
Tried this my first trip to SLC, recommended by a friend and did not disappoint! Line gets hecka long but it think it was worth it, service is quick once you out in your order. Tables fill up quick too however outside seating is available too. They're very big on enforcing masks, not a big deal but just FYI Reeeeally good menu, lots to choose from food and drink wise! Definitely would recommend! Love the vibe very diverse, fun and welcoming!
google avatar

Monique R.

Yelp
The only complaint I have about this place is that it's always so busy and sometimes have a difficult time finding a place to sit. Other than that, the service has always been exceptional. I love their hot chocolate and more recently tried their Affogato with lavender and honey. It was very good! I love the ambiance as well.
google avatar

Yelp
I have missed this place! I haven't gotten to go enjoy a healthy dose of caffeine here since 2019, before covid ruined all good things, particularly spending hours on end in coffee shops! They are still doing service via a window that you walk up to outdoors. Masks are now optional. The staff are still upbeat, engaging, and awesome as always. I could not believe the barista recognized my face after all this time! That's a quality local spot *insert wobbly eyes* ...where the people who make your coffee make you feel loved, what more can you ask for. The back patio is open and has umbrellas for shade, which is necessary even at 9am right now. Love the murals they have right now. My iced soy Caramel Sutra was fantastic. I used to always get the Mayan Mocha (also fantastic), but I am glad I branched out. Delish!

Yelp
Every time I visit SHC I find something new to love: the people, the menu, the swag, the art... all so comfortable and inviting. Thanks for creating such an inclusive space that invokes community!

Yelp
Was very excited to try the coffee here given all the glowing reviews however I got a chaga latte and it was very watery and flavorless.

Nooshi B.

Yelp
We popped in here on a Thursday afternoon to find a packed house! The space is big and loud. They have tons of drink and food options with their menu listed above the registers. I grabbed a dirty chai with almond milk and it was fantastic. Service was also great. I'd definitely recommend this place if you're in town!

Michael M.

Yelp
Amazing service! Absolute nicest staff! Brooklyn was so sweet and helpful. Keep up the great work!

Beatrice K.

Yelp
Great service and ambience. Excellent good. We biked there for a morning burrito and enjoyed the outside patio.

Cooper B.

Yelp
We ordered a breakfast pita and an Aloha bowl. The breakfast pita failed to come with the pita, making it essentially spinach and eggs in a Togo box. And the aloha bowl had the consistency of water, making it more of a juice. Disappointing breakfast stop.

Yelp
Kind of tucked away from the street. But worth the tiny parking lot and effort. Very inclusive atmosphere, really good drinks - and can we talk about those cinnamon rolls?? You'll see, just go..

Bryna W.

Yelp
What a warm and welcoming space. Such great energy, and a fantastic menu! Bought merch and played some of the games they let you use. What a treasure, SLC!!

Yelp
I almost never leave reviews, but I wanted to set the record straight on Sugar House Coffee. This is Utahs "Starbucks" of Coffee Houses. Their only core strength is the rainbow wash gimmick that they do. They have very inconsistent roasts, and drink quality. You never know if you're actually going to get a drink that taste the same as the last time you were there. It is the busiest coffee shop in the area because it is so close to Westminster, sometimes the line takes over 30 minutes. This place should convert into a work co-op space because of how bad the table camping is. Theres constant Wi-Fi code changes, it's over priced for the quality, the music is always way to loud, the parking lot is horrible, and the inconsistent quality landed it on my Utah businesses black-list. If you're looking for coffee in that area, go to Urban Sailor just up the street across from Sugar House Park instead. High quality roast, quiet atmosphere, cheaper coffee, and very consistent. 3 stars is generous, Sugar House Coffee is really 2.5 stars. I do not recommend this coffee shop.

Yelp
This is my favorite coffee shop in all the land. What more could you want than a friendly barista, tons of gluten free options, and free LGBTQ+ Sugar House Coffee stickers?! I've never had a bad experience with the customer service here. There's always a line, but it goes quickly, and the barista is always waiting at the register with a welcoming smile. As far as gluten free options go, there are a plethora of options. They usually have 5 GF muffin options, they carry gluten free bagels for breakfast sandwiches, and always have a few baked goods, almost always gluten free. I haven't even mentioned how great the coffee is, but I'm sure you've already seen that from the many reviews about it. The coffee is superb.. we'll just leave it at that. Go to SHC.. you will be so happy you did!

Yelp
my family and i are pretty much regulars at this place. it's the only coffee shop we go to frequently because the quality of the coffee is AMAZING. Not to mention the environment makes me feel so cozy and warm and oof the vibes here are immaculate. my go-to is the honey smacker!! i also love their brekkie sandwich. it was made of sourdough bread, eggs, havarti, spinach, tomatoes, garlic, and pesto! without a doubt, MY FAVORITE COFFEE PLACE in the slc area.

Yared N.

Yelp
Great Place to have a chill evening. Staff is super welcoming and food is awesome, worth visiting
google avatar

Samar H.

Yelp
I love the crowd here so much. It is hard to find a spot inside on weekends but still worth the trip to hang out. Coffee is good and food as well. The baked good are a miss for me because they are often stale or have an interesting after taste. But the pesto grilled cheese, aloha bowl are on point! I go mainly for the crowd and a place to get work done.

FaithAnn G.

Yelp
Very friendly staff, good food and quick service, I love the LGBT+ friendly atmosphere. Will definitely be going here again when I'm in the area again
google avatar

Yelp
The Salt Lake business that I am most grateful for is Sugarhouse coffee. They provide exquisite beverages prepared with cheer each time I visit. I have begun frequenting this establishment to study. They are very friendly, LGBT inclusive, and offer a comfortable and relaxing environment for studying and brews.
google avatar

Yelp
In my opinion: it's over-rated ‍ I have recently moved to SLC from out of state and have been searching for a good coffee shop to make my regular stop. I would definitely consider myself a coffee snob and have struggled to decide what to try first when the google reviews for every local shop here say "best coffee in the city!!!". Here's where Sugar House let me down: The espresso was watery and acidic None of their flavorings/syrups are made in-house The cold brew was cloudy and muddy tasting At the minimum when I visit a coffee shop I hope to get a better latte than I can make for myself at home, I didn't find that here. Giving 2 stars because the environment was cute and inclusive and the staff were friendly. If you aren't a picky coffee drinker you would probably like it here just fine.
google avatar

George H.

Yelp
I love this cafe! The people working here are very chill and cool, the sandwiches delicious, and we sat out in the parking lot that had picnic tables and benches, and so much sunshine! it felt COVID safe too!
google avatar

Priscilla S.

Yelp
This place is DELICIOUS!  I love their wide variety of gluten-free baked goods.  They're also super flexible with substitutions, as I found when I requested a chai latte version of their Golden Graham coffee--chai, white chocolate, and brown sugar.  Holy CATS that was delicious!  I also added sausage to their Mediterranean bagel sandwich, which was yum city.  I love the ethos of this place, and I'll gladly support them whenever I'm in town!
google avatar

Tara H.

Yelp
If you are looking for an inclusive coffee shop where everyone is welcome and treated with kindness, this is the place. My family has been going here for several years, and I get such good vibes every time I'm there. The coffee is great, and so is the food. I like to get the chia pudding with fruit or the caprese sandwich. They are very accommodating with whatever you want your beverage to taste like, and never look at me funny when I ask for half sweet with two different non dairy milks in the same latte.
google avatar

Malan N.

Yelp
This place deserves more hype....seriously. My go to is the golden graham, and I always add Chaga. The first time I tried the Chaga-latte, I broke the high score on a bop it and now I'm pretty convinced that it is basically the ultimate pick me up. Food is killer and the people always so genuine. Would give it more stars if I could.

Tibby P.

Yelp
Love this place! Welcoming environment, free WiFi, and great coffee. Also wine options!
google avatar

Yelp
Does anyone know what happened to Sugar House Coffee? ever since Covid things changed quite a bit? Last I heard they're wasn't even the old location that is behind the animal adoption place?
google avatar

Penny M.

Yelp
I have to say this Coffee House in my favorite. I use to come here so much when I was in school many years ago, studying, reading and just to hang out with friends. Now i take my kids to just lounge around for breakfast and hot coco. The positive atmosphere and the vibe of this place makes you feel relaxed and happy. The service is great and very cheerful. Even the people the come are just super friendly. Perfect place to start your morning or having a rough day come here to relax. It has gone through a few moves and locations, but the vibe has always stayed the same. They serve the best coffee, breakfast and there's free WIFI.

Yelp
Ordered a black coffee and had a great morning meeting with a teammate. So happy the shop is back open for in person business. Yay!
