Traditional sushi & sake in a chic, intimate space

"When Maia wins her boss Alyssa’s favor (the character played by Leighton Meester in the most nauseatingly perfect girl boss tenor), she gets treated to a one-on-one Sugarfish lunch in Alyssa’s private office while the rest of her colleagues have sad desk lunches outside the door." - Eater Staff

"We finally made it to the bottom three. Has this Hollywood outpost come in handy from time to time? Sure. Where else was I supposed to eat before seeing Cats in theaters back when the Arclight was still around? However, have I also waited over an hour for a pick-up order and gotten stuck in bumper-to-bumper traffic here? Yes, and yes! Another tip: If you’re going to drink tea during your meal, get it hot. The hot tea comes in these gorgeous ceramic mugs, uses water from a special faucet, and, if your server really loves you, they’ll tie the tea bag string around the handle to keep it from slipping. The iced tea on the other hand, is pre-made at the beginning of the night and uses water from the kitchen sink." - kat hong
"Picnics and sushi might not seem like a great combination, but Sugarfish is perfect for outdoor eating (because there’s apparently nothing these people haven’t figured out). Takeout boxes are handily compartmentalized and easily stackable, and there’s no dealing with paper plates when everybody has their own Trust Me box. Stop at the Hollywood location before the Bowl or a cemetery screening." - jess basser sanders, brett keating
"You probably don’t need us to tell you what Sugarfish is at this point. This one is right on Sunset next to NeueHouse, and is no different from all the rest - great quality sushi for a not-outrageous price. It’s even more affordable at lunch, and the takeout situation is as convenient as it gets." - brant cox, arden shore

"Sugarfish is located less than a tenth of a mile from the 81-year-old Palladium where sashimi, sushi, and hand rolls are on full display. If overwhelmed by the menu, simply order the Trust Me omakase where the chef picks a selection sure to dazzle before the show." - Mona Holmes
