PLEASE SCHEDULE A RESERVATION or you will have to wait, but it is certainly worth the wait. You won't be disappointed going to this establishment. This is "THE BEST" Brunch spot in Scottsdale, AZ. The food is always delicious and the drinks/cocktails are amazing every single time. Even though the vibe and atmosphere is AMAZING, the parking is a little tight. She definitely needs to find a single BIGGER building of her own OR at least consider opening a second location. Nonetheless, you will love it here. I will say the only thing I DO NOT like is the fact that, if you bring or have a group, the entire bill is on one ticket, they will not separate the meals individually. So, 1 person need to be prepared to pay the entire bill.

I heard so much about this place and decided to visit once I got in town. We specifically came for the oxtails and was so disappointed when they told us they were only served on the weekends. So we settled on the shrimp and grits and the chopped cheese. The shrimp and grits were decent. It was filled with plenty of shrimp and it tasted good. The chopped cheese was just okay. It was just chopped up hamburger meat. The drinks were good too but not worth 15-30$. It was very well decorated. All the artwork was so cute. And the people were really nice. If you are ever near def check them out.

Sugar Jam was such a great experience! The service was friendly and attentive, and the food came out unbelievably fast — we barely had time to settle in before our plates arrived. I ordered the shrimp and grits, which came with two crab balls that were absolutely amazing! Everything was fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The music selection kept the vibe lively and fun. Definitely a spot I’ll return to next time I’m in Scottsdale!

My wife and I had the pleasure of eating at this restaurant prior to the game on Sunday. First class service, and the food came out hit and fast. Drinks, the vibe, music selections was A-1. God willing we'll definitely come back to Scottsdale and patron this establishment. By the way we had chicken and waffles and the jerk chicken and sweet potato waffle. A+

Great Host and awesome server Dillon made this experience top tier. The DJ added an extra tier of how great this restaurant is. The food came fast and hot and every bit was excellent.

This restaurant is full of life, culture, and fun all while offering a wide variety of southern style food made from scratch. Delicious meals and spirits served. Memorable stop to be sure! I would come back in a heartbeat. Love DJ is so fun and their French Toast is like none other. I would recommend making a reservation during weekend brunch times..

Great vibes. Reservations recommended but not necessary unless you like a long wait time on the weekends. Great service. Super polite and have great recommendations on drinks. The music was vibing. All around good experience!

Had a great time at this brunch spot. My girlfriends and I were in town for the weekend and this place came highly recommended. The atmosphere was lively, music was on point. All in all it was a vibe! I had the fried snapper which was humongous and my friends had Rasta pasta, lobster, chicken and waffles and wings. Most everything was on point. My fish was just a tad bit overcooked and under seasoned. I was picking from everyone else’s plates so I didn’t feel like I missed out. Amazing time, great food!!!

Yelp
THAT'S MY JAM What's so sweet about SugarJam? This place is a vibe. With a live DJ spinning hip hop tracks from the 90s and 2000's this restaurant is bumpin during brunch. So after Sunday Service and bible verses about Jahovah and singing gospel music to praise the heavenly Father, you can come here for bar service and verses by Hova and listen to hymnals by Big Poppa. With the full bar, you can keep the party rolling from the night before because this seems like a place to show up and show out. The restaurant offers contemporary fusion southern and soul food with a twist. With quite the extensive menu you have plenty to choose from and decent size portions so you don't feel like you are getting ripped off. I was torn between what I ordered and a couple other dishes I had my eye on. I would want to come back to try the other items JERK CHICKEN AND WAFFLES- The jerk could have been more Jerk-y. I think they played it safe and went mild with the spice and seasoning. Maybe as the first meal of the day they didn't want to knock peoples' socks off with heat. I'm sensitive to spicy but it had no spice whatsoever and I was a little disappointed. It was still a decent bite with the sweet potato which had a good fluffy texture, not too dense and not too soft. APPLE PIE FRENCH TOAST AND CHICKEN FINGERS- Is it an entree'? Is it dessert? It's both? Yes, maybe. But one thing you know for sure, you will get the itis. I am surprised this dish didn't come with a complimentary pillow. The chicken was super crunchy and flavorful and contrasted the softness of the french toast with this sweet and savory delight. The space is not the biggest but has a quite a few tables available set up inside and was a little cramped in some areas. Because of how busy it was, you may end up having to wait a little while even if you have a small party. There is a small patio available if you are willing to sit outside. Luckily at that time of day, the patio is completely shaded. This is a nice restaurant to provide some representation and flavor in the area of north Scottsdale. Finally!

Yelp
SugarJam is a true experience. I would give it a 4.5/5 as there are some areas that need to be worked on but overall I had a good experience. My friends and I made a reservation for 3 people for a Sunday. We were running 30 mins behind on our reservation. We called the restaurant and informed them and they held our reservation for us. The food was to die for. I was not disappointed at all. I ordered the shrimp and grits with a side of biscuits. The shrimp and grits were so flavorful and done right!! The grits were not gritty and had the perfect texture to go with the well-seasoned shrimp. The broth/sauce that accompanied the grits was also very flavorful but did not over power the rest of the plate. The shrimp and grits also came with crab balls and eggs. I got my eggs scrambled and it was a very nice addition as I added my eggs to the shrimp and grits. The crabs were also delicious and reminded me of mini crabcakes. The biscuits were great! They are huge so I was only able to eat 1 though it came with 2. I loved it. Now for the ambiance, we came on a Sunday. There was a live DJ and it was overall lit!!! I was truly overstimulated with everything going on. The music was so loud I could not hear my friends. It was nice to see the waiters and staff having a good time dancing and vibing to the music, but sometimes that got in the way of the service as they were forgetting stuff and not being 100% attentive. With a few reminder, we were able to get what we needed but there was a lot going on. The food was good. The Sunday brunch experience was cool just a lot going on. I would recommend this place as the food was delicious but i would advise to be mindful of when you go.

Yelp
My friends and I did an impromptu brunch just this past Saturday. We had an amazing time and we didn't enjoy it ourselves so much. We were unaware that our full party had to be at the restaurant prior to seating; so luckily, we had chairs available at the bar and the bartenders were very nice and friendly. We ordered a variety of food selections from oxtails and grits, oxtails and rice, shrimp and grits salmon croquettes the sugar jam, wings mimosa flight flights. All of our food was very delicious prices can range anywhere from $18 and up depending on food and drinks. The chicken wings were small and a little overpriced for me due to the size and wish they were a little bit bigger or you get more for the price cause they were $15 on your only received six or seven of them. I heard on Saturdays and Sundays. The vibes and music are so much better with DJ as well..

Yelp
The food here is so good. We were greeted warmly upon arrival. We came on Wednesday for brunch. There were plenty of options and I wanted to try them all. But ultimately we went with their popular shrimp and grits and my husband got the chicken and French toasts. Both dishes came out fairly quickly. Everything was delicious. We didn't opt for any of the alcoholic drinks but there was plenty of options to chose from. This place is definitely going to be on our rotation when we come back to Arizona.

Yelp
2 people welcomed me upon entering. The door is so lovely. For my health concerns the menu was limited so I chose the vegan dish. I'll return for southern grits & biscuit.

Yelp
I remember Dana's window pane cookies from my Phoenix Public Market days. So when i recently recalled the name of her business and then discovered she opened a restaurant...i was seriously thrilled. My husband was thrilled as well cause the cookies are that daymn good. Went with a girlfriend this weekend and were excited cause everything in the menu sounded fantastic. Unfortunately, Chantel C and Elizabeth B's reviews are spot on. Read them! TLDR - Under Seasoned - Underwhelmed (except for Salmon C's). Disproportionate sauce to entree (gravy and syrup). 18% gratuity automatically added for ALL table sizes. The Dish - No sooner than our food arrives, we're greeted by a photographer. Felt like when you are at an amusement park and the people hit you up as soon as you walk in and ask if you want your photo taken for a souvenir. If you're gonna do this maybe have a designated area set up for the photographer with a backdrop instead of having photos taken while everyone is sitting at a table in front of their food. Otherwise, its strange and as my teenager would say...kinda cringe. Anyhow...on to the food. My order - Biscuits and gravy. The potatoes on the side (I'm allergic to potatoes and there's no substitutions). Eggs scrambled with cheese (cheese extra charge). The eggs were nice and cheesy but needed a bunch of salt and pepper. You get 2 biscuits and they are huge but the gravy to biscuit ratio is WAY OFF! After you finish up the gravy, the biscuits are dry. Ask for your gravy on the side, hopefully that will help. I mentioned the ratio being off to the server and asked for a little bit more gravy. Extra gravy - Extra charge. At least the gravy didn't taste like uncooked flour, but it was under seasoned. My friend sampled the potatoes and she said they were ok but needed more seasoning. But seriously WHY was EVERYTHING under seasoned. (confused look) Thank goodness there were 2 sets of salt and pepper on the table. No joke. My friends order - chicken and french toast. She said hers was good. Waffles were pretty big but you only got a tiny plastic portion cup of syrup. Think Wendy's plastic 2oz catsup cups size. And it wasn't even filled all the way up. Side orders - Hot links - these were good. I've had better ones though with more flavor. Bacon - friend said that was good. Extra side order - cause the ladies (sisters in town from Tucson and Charlotte NC) sitting next to us ordered them and they looked awesome. Southern Grits - Cheesy but again way under-seasoned. 3 Salmon Croquettes - This was seriously the best thing ordered. The flavor was amazing and when pared with the chipotle remoulade ... EVELATED! NEXT LEVEL! The ladies next to us asked how we liked the grits and salmon. They agreed that the grits were under seasoned. Honestly the salmon was the only thing we finished, it was that good! (note to SugarJam website admin - You need to update the SJ website online menu cause you're prices are not up to date. Salmon Croquettes are $11.99 online) I just checked a recent photo of the menu..the price is $12.99) We finally get our check and my friend left the tip. Which neither one of us noticed they add an 18% gratuity to even the smallest table. So the waitress got an extra cash tip, but her service was good. $30+ good, meh. We decided to leave shortly after the DJ started and it got seriously loud. So loud even in tucked in the corner i had to start yelling and couldn't hear a thing my friend was saying from across the table. I try to make my way to the restroom but they have tables so close together that it is hard to get around. Only 2 restrooms in the entire restaurant and had to wait in line. I know it is a restroom and people have to do their business, but please consider adding an auto air freshener to the ladies room at least cause i walked in and good lawd. Lastly, i was hoping to take home a dozen window pane cookies for the husband and kid, but dessert aren't even an option anymore. :( Took home a bunch of leftovers (biscuits, my extra gravy, the potatoes for the hub and kid, and my hot links). Family thought agreed that everything being under seasoned. Dana girl, I'm happy for your success but aside from the Salmon Croquettes, the kitchen staff missed the mark yesterday with flavor. :/

Yelp
I heard so much about this place i just i had to try it. It was underwhelming. It has a decent amount of space but the layout of it is very crowded get hard to maneuver. They also only have 2 bathrooms for the whole place which creates a line. They have a dj on the weekend who creates a nice vibe but beware it can get loud. The decor is a little eclectic. Food was OK most things were overpriced. The French toast was good and i liked the pecan syrup. We got the wings to share and it was just plain fried wingettes. Service was decent but we weren't checked on that much and took forever to get out servers attention to check out. I had high hopes and enjoyed what I saw on social media yet it didn't live up to the hype.

Yelp
This is one of my new favorite breakfast spots!!! First of all the ambience and decor is beautiful and cozy, I love it. Secondly the staff is super nice and welcoming, attentive for sure. The food comes out quick and is Delicious!! I mean, there's no place like it. I'm drooling just thinking about it. And if you're ready to get your real fun brunch on they have a variety of delicious southern style drinks, can't wait to go back!
google avatar

Tiffany D.

Yelp
Highly recommend making a reservation! If you want the vibes of the DJ, make it for after 11am but if you prefer that it's quieter then go early. The southern style food is always pretty good and so is the service. The only complaint is that you can tell by looking at the menu from 6 and 3 months ago and now that the prices continuously keep rising.

Yelp
I'm going to do the compliment sandwich for SugarJam. SugarJam has a great vibe, with beautiful artwork, fun colors, and a cute entrance to set the tone immediately. Other plus, lots of parking. The critique middle. SugarJam has a LOT of rules. Most are understandable for a popular restaurant but they are VERY in your face with them - they are on website, reminder emails and texts, bottom of menu. It's like there is zero trust or expectation of basic manners from their customers and while I get it's probably warrented, it bothered me that I was told four different ways to dress nice to eat there, but they had a server in grey print running shorts with his tshirt. It also bothered me that they have hidden at bottom of menu that any dish with eggs has a $2 surcharge. It's printed onto the menu - just price the dish what it needs, instead of sneaking it in. Last critique, seating. For both our group and at least two other groups I saw, they tried to put us at tables that were clearly not meant for groups are size. We all said not happening and they gave larger tables, but unless a table tells you they are willing to be uncomfortable in order to not wait, don't put groups at tables clearly meant for less people. Now the second piece of compliment bread and why I would go there again, although just during week versus brunch so hopefully a little more relaxed. The food. It is amazing. Their cooks know how to season. The brisket is flavorful and tender, potatoes are crisp outside with soft insides and Cajun seasoning. Biscuits are tall and fluffy. Ox tail was melt in mouth with a little bit of a kick. The remoulade sauce for the salmon croquettes was delicious. And for coffee drinkers, big mugs with good coffee. So to recap, go, but during week if going for the food and on the weekend if the vibe is just as important.

Yelp
This place is a total vibe live DJ and music, people dancing around having a great time. It is kinda small and is packed. When we arrived we were unaware that we needed reservations. We had to be placed on a waitlist and waited about 40 mins before we were seated. Because we didn't have a reservation prior to arriving we were seated out on a 103 degree day. That was awful. We asked several times to be seated inside but because so many people had reservations they were not able to move us inside. Which is why I gave them 4 out 5 stars. The menu had many savory options. I got the shrimp and grits which came with two crab balls and two eggs. My friend got the Lobster, shrimp and grits. Both meals were delicious. We also ordered a few drinks, all of their drinks are premade which we didn't really like because we wanted to order our drink a certain way which the waitress said we could not. Also why they got 4 out 5 stars. Overall this is a fun place but next time we will be more prepared and make reservations so we are not dying from the heat while trying to enjoy our meal.

Yelp
We were so excited to find a black owned restaurant in Scottsdale! I was not sure what to expect but this place is so cute! Beautiful art and decor, very clean. We decided to sit on the patio because the day was beautiful. Our server was very pleasant and attentive, she explained the menu very well. I was not a big fan of the menu items nor did I enjoy the food I ordered. The French toast was pretty decent but the syrup had small bits of pecan, I personally didn't enjoy. The chicken wings had potential but I would prefer plain wings with such a sweet French toast. I was not a fan of the food but I am glad I got to support and experience Sugar Jam during my time in Arizona!

Jainae S.

Yelp
I visited Sugar Jam in Arizona for my best friend's birthday, and it was such a great experience. Even though we arrived straight from the airport with our suitcases, the hostesses were incredibly welcoming and accommodating. The DJ was a solid 10/10 and set the perfect vibe. Our server, Robert, was super nice and helpful. We enjoyed it so much that we came back again with a larger group. Although we waited over two hours since we went last minute, the energy was still great once we were seated. The food came out hot and fresh, and our server was sweet and patient. l'd definitely come back the next time I'm in Arizona!

Yelp
Tried SugarJam for the first time and had an overall good experience. Decent food, great service, the restaurant was nicely decorated. Solely due to location this is probably not a go to spot however will consider coming again if in the area.
google avatar

Sheri M.

Yelp
Sugar jam was a fun place to brunch. We went on a Wednesday, but the customer traffic was steady. The food was good. Hubby really enjoyed the shrimp and grits. Our pescatarian friends had a harder time piecing together a breakfast without spending more, but they found a suitable meal. Someone took our picture while we waited for food- so they could offer to sell us a print later. The decor was top notch. We enjoyed our time and would return again. The parking is right outside the door.

Yelp
I visited on a Wednesday for brunch. I was so happy to share the experience with my sister who was visiting from our of state. The place is so charming. I totally dug the vibe. The food however was very a disappointment. Born and raised in the south, I was a bit insulted that they advertise what they delivered to the table as southern food. It's not. I ordered the All-American. There was zero flavor or seasoning added to the eggs, potatoes, or sausage links. I was baffled and couldn't get pad a couple of bites. My sister order the Veggie Omelet which, according to the menu, is topped with tomatoes. When delivered, it was missing tomatoes. My sister inquired about the tomatoes. The waitress stated, "We haven't had tomatoes in a long time". My sister stated, "Well, that was the main reason why I ordered the dish". Hmmm, to me, if there is a change in menu items, then update the menu or when a person orders the amended dish, do let them know that a particular item in the dish is no longer available so that they can decide to keep the order or edit it. My sister try the dish and immediately stated that it was lacking in seasoning. Totally bland. Shame on Sugar Jam! There is accessible parking as well as entrance.

Yelp
Let's start with the good: -Service at cafe while waiting for our table was excellent -The music for Saturday brunch complemented the aesthetic -Cocktail made with black owned whiskey -Blueberry biscuit is a must try, it was moist and each bite better than the last -Older woman bussing tables had great attention to detail and saved dining experience Now on to the need for improvement: - Server-Rusty-was just that. It took him a while to greet the table, when food was delivered he never checked in and any soft drink refills had to be requested and fulfilled by someone else -Friends at table ordered sprites and they were flat -Some main entrees come out cold meaning they had been in the window waiting for other entrees to be finished The menu is very explicit about details regarding what's in their dishes and how their kitchen operates. From this I had an expectation that was not met. I don't think I'll be visiting again.

Yelp
We found a great place to eat at! Sugar Jam had a fun DJ playing good sounds. It was breakfast but they had a great bar. I had the best Fried Catfish and Grits. My wife really loved her biscuits and gravy so much we took an order to go on the biscuits!! The service was great and the food was all prepared deliciously and tasted wonderful. We are on vacation but if I lived around here this place would be a regular place to eat at and fun with the DJ !!! Highly recommended !!

Yelp
My friends and I decided to step out for brunch this weekend and Sugarjam was first on the list. We made a reservation, which I highly recommend as the wait can be a little long on the weekends at high volume hours. Food was really good, I got the salmon croquettes and my friends got Rasta pasta with shrimp and the sweet potato waffle with jerk chicken. The wait wasn't too long on the food and everything came out hot and sizzling Food was really good but I definitely could finish it as they had a live DJ and I was more interested in enjoying the vibes and attempting to finish their mimosa tower. Had so much fun, will definitely be back.
google avatar

Yelp
The food was exceptionally good, but the volume of the music made the experience barely bearable.
google avatar

Yelp
The food was tasty as can be! The server was friendly and timely. The atmosphere was clean and cozy. My only complaint is it's pretty pricey for brunch.
google avatar

Shae B.

Yelp
Vacationing in AZ and this Sunday Brunch was a whole vibe. The DJ kept the hit hop and R&B hits going and we danced and swayed the whole time. My husband had the French toast and I had the salmon croquettes. Both delish!
google avatar

Monique R.

Yelp
You need to make a reservation here! That's really the only downside, the wait time. Food was so flavorful. Ambiance was fun and vibrant. Wait staff matched the energy of the restaurant too!
google avatar

Yelp
Two words: LOVED IT! The vibe was spot on the staff was welcoming and accommodating. We had a party of 10 for a bachelor/bachelorette weekend and everything was perfect! The food was delicious (especially my oxtails and grits) and the drinks were great also. There were tasty brunch shots and an epic mimosa tower for us to share. The DJ was fantastic and we loved every single thing he played! All in all, everyone enjoyed themselves and SugarJam was a perfect choice for what our group needed. Cheers!

Yelp
The music was simply too loud...we were shouting at our table. My order was wrong (probably because the waiter couldn't hear me), and took forever to receive it. They food was ok. Finally, me and my two girl friends were sitting adjacent to a separate table of six other girl friends. They were there before we arrived, finished their meals and paid, while we were still eating. When we were finished and paid our bill, they were still at their table socializing (like most people do). An employee came to our table and told the three of us that they "needed the table." Never in my life has that ever happened to me in a restaurant, but what was bothersome was the table of six were NOT told the same thing and carried on socializing. One of my girlfriends asked to speak with a manager because it truly felt discriminatory and unprofessional. She did speak with a manager, who apologized for the incident. That was my first and last time at this restaurant.

Yelp
Drinks tried: Strawberry marmosa (margarita/momosa I guess, wasn't my drink) Apple Cider Side Car Both weren't bad. Unfortunately, you can drink a regular side car to the end. This one had bits and syrup. Biscuits were YUMMY! Food wasn't bad. I didn't know what I wanted and our server was not too helpful in that area. Shrimp and grits were fine. The brisket was also okay. Kinda dry and disappointing because this was a splurge meal for me. I probably should've tried the smash burger or chopped cheese. I may return to try some baked goods. Drinks were yummy and the ambiance wasn't bad. DJ was decent and there were a few birthdays. Normal brunch vibe. There was a dancing waitress and she brought energy and a joyous vibe to the establishment. I would go again, if in the area, to try the vegan sweet potato hash. Try it and tell us what you think!

Yelp
We came for the funky brunch and it was jumping. The food was decent. I ordered the Fisherman platter but wished I ordered the oxtails bc they were falling off the bone. My daughter's grits were creamy & delicious. Portion size could have been larger. The service could've been more attentive - bc the food arrived but no one had flatware for some time. I would return again, just not with a large party.

Yelp
Yeah! Made it to Sugar Jam!! My niece flew in to have brunch with me. We arrived just after nine without reservations and was able to be seated on the patio. Our server, Nevonte is excellent and provided amazing service. I'm really loving my first time. The food was DELICIOUS! My niece ordered the Fried Lobster with Creole Shrimp & Crab N' Grits. She enjoyed it. I ordered the Fried Catfish N Grits. I asked for cheese on the eggs but I didn't see or taste and cheese. I also ordered a side of bacon. It was good but I can pass the next time the Friday Catfish was well seasoned and very tasty. The food didn't take long at all. I went to wash my hands after ordering and the food was on the table when I returned. The restroom decor is amazing. The weather was perfect for patio seating. When we got up to leave, inside was jumping. We came at the right time. They give a shot for birthdays but my niece told him I wouldn't want one so they gave me a cookie. It was delicious and tasted like there was some spice in it. It was an overall good first time experience.

Blueberry pancakes are the best. Great environment and vibe!! Extremely good service!

Yelp
Great Southern style cooking and a very fun spot for a weekend visit! They have live music and a DJ on Sundays to entertain while brunching. My two favorite dishes for brunch are the French Toast/Fried Chicken- Grand Marnier marinated challah bread served with buttermilk fried chicken tenders drizzled with SJ signature BBQ-maple sauce served with eggs, housemade vanilla butter, and rum pecan syrup! The second favorite is the Fried Lobster/Creole- Fried lobster tail on top of southern-style creamy grits layered with seven sautéed shrimp in savory creole gravy and two handmade crab balls. The staff and service are both very pleasant and easy to get along with. They are PACKED on the weekends so best getting there as early as possible on Saturday's or Sundays.

Yelp
Nothing like a good weekend brunch ! SugarJam is one of those places you have to visit to catch a good vibe and eat good. The staff were friendly and service was great. I had the catfish n grits which were pretty good. I also had some of the shrimp which were also good.

Yelp
02/07 Came in before 11 AM on a Friday and was able to immediately get a table but I hear that it can get crowded fast. Service - our server was cool...all of the food came out piping hot and drinks stayed refreshed. Food - I had the French toast and fried chicken combo. The French toast was very tasty, the eggs were fluffy w/ a perfect amount of cheese, and the fried chicken was crispy & seasoned well. The kool aid was a perfect balance of sweet & tart as blue. Ambience - the DJ was on the 1s & 2s spinning all the 90s hits...we could barely contain ourselves as this was the music we grew up listening to. I'm so glad we came...a good time was had & we sending everyone we know here that comes to PHX. Next time I'm in PHX, this is my first stop.

Yelp
The fried chicken and French toast were absolutely delicious! We went on a busy Sunday for brunch, the place was packed, but luckily we had a reservation and were seated right away. The food came out quickly, and the staff were all super friendly. There was even a live DJ playing music, which added a fun vibe to the atmosphere. Overall, a great brunch experience!

Yelp
This has been some of the best food that I have had in a while. The ambience of the place is a little crazy, but if you're looking for a place to have a birthday party or to have some fun this is your spot service is always fast and friendly food is always amazing and drinks are also really good if you're wanting a quick bite this is not your place as it is always busy, but it is busy for a reason

Yelp
So glad that we made time to checkout SugarJam before heading back to Vegas. To my surprise i was able to make a reservation for Sunday brunch and snag a table that same morning. You do have to use a credit card to hold your table! We were seated right away, greeted by our server, and placed our order all within 10 min. My sister and I both decided on the French toast with the peppered bacon and eggs. The challah bread French toast was cooked perfectly. Toasty and warm on the outside with a chewy inside. The cinnamon butter and warm syrup with little floating pecan pieces. The eggs were good, nothing too special, just good. The peppered bacon was a true banger! Crispy, salty, slightly greasy...just what I wanted and expected! My husband had the salmon croquettes with eggs and Gouda grits. He loved EVERYTHING. He was too full to eat the biscuit, but ate it later. It heats up nicely and he said it was awesome!!! Perfect price point for the service and food quality. They would've received a 5 had they not run out of milk. My sister wanted a glass of milk and they ran out. How do you not have milk at a brunch spot and run out by 9am? Oh well, we'll be back! Overall, great vibe!

Yelp
When visiting the area we like to look for local and small businesses to support. Sugar Jam came up on Yelp with great reviews. Parking is a bit challenging but worth it. The wait was not bad- once inside we noticed a live DJ, murals and fun decor. The staff were friendly and provided very good service. The menu has a great variety and if you are a foodie, this is your place! My husband ordered the pulled pork plate and it did not disappoint- flavorful and hearty. I ordered the All American breakfast and devoured it. The sourdough toast and jam were amazing- I wanted to drink the jam! There is also a photographer that strolls around taking photos of the customers, we bought ours because we always enjoy getting a souvenir and the picture she took made us look like rock stars! Definitely make it a stop for your craft kitchen cravings.

Yelp
I can't say enough about this place! Was in Arizona to visit Sedona and stopped at SugarJam after landing in Phoenix. The vibe was great, the staff were super friendly, and the food and cocktails were so good! I would highly recommend stopping here whether you're local or visiting. We tried to come back for Sunday brunch and couldn't get a reservation so if you're going on a weekend, plan early!

Yelp
Great vibe! Awesome drinks! Food was hot and fresh! Service was amazing as well. I gave a 4/5 because my French toast was dry but I would definitely go again

Yelp
I came to sugar jam during my first time in Arizona last week & this place was a top tier experience. The music was great, everyone was friendly and welcoming. The vibe was on point with great music and so many beautiful people. Our server was great & they gave free shots to the birthday girls in our group. I had the catfish & grits , it was really good. I also had a wake up Mary & I wasn't crazy about it. I also tried the fried lobster & shrimp Mac & cheese, the brisket on brisket and chicken & waffles, SO FREAKIN GOOD. I would come back to AZ just for Sugar Jam

Yelp
I LOVED everything about SugarJam! The food, energy, and service was amazing. Easily one of my favorite brunch locations in the Arizona region. To start, my party of three (3) was unable to get a reservation online. We arrived early with the hopes of getting a seat inside. After about 5-ish minutes, we were seated near the kitchen counter with a great view of the main seating area. Soon after being seated, the live DJ was set up and ready to go! The staff (and some customers) began to jam to the music, snapping and dancing, creating the element of what brunch is supposed to be (IMO). The environment was vibrant and the food was unmatched. I ordered biscuits and gravy (typically not my thing, but I wanted to try them), grits, potatoes, and egg whites. It was soooo much food, and even though I tried to stop eating...those darn biscuits and gravy was probably the best I've had in a restaurant!! My other two (2) friends really enjoyed their food and drinks as well. There was also a photographer who would help you pose (should you decide to do so), for pictures you could purchase for $20 per photo. They are delivered in a frame, bagged, and given to you after purchase. NOTE: There is a fee for using a credit card to pay for these photos, so use cash if you have the ability to do so. The pricing for the food and drinks were affordable, which makes it a great option if you're in the area and want some good comfort food. Be sure to make a reservation or show up early early to have a better chance at getting a seat! Until soon...

Yelp
First time here, really loved the DJ set up and the atmosphere was very welcoming. Ordered the shrimp and grits with crab and salmon croquettes. Food was good, just the grits came out like someone just slapped the ingredients onto a plate and said "order up!". Service was good, we did not have to repeat orders and she got everything right.

Yelp
Bruh. This spot. The foood. The vibes. The atmosphere. I just can't say enough good things. Definitely make a reservation, definitely be on time. Dj had immaculate vibes. Our server was the best. I had the sweet potato waffle and jerk chicken. The waffle was perfect and the jerk chicken was delicious, for the price I thought that it would be a little bit bigger of a chicken piece but regardless was delicious. I will definitely be back!
