11 Best Bakeries in Charlotte, North Carolina | Eater Carolinas

"In the spirit of the Quechuan word meaning “the ideal and beautiful fulfillment of life,” Sumaq pays homage to Peruvian delicacies and the simple art of communing over a cup of coffee in this stumble-upon location down South Boulevard. Its spacious layout is fit for lounging with Sumaq’s top-selling passionfruit cheesecake or the pastry drizzled with dulce de leche. Pair those with the signature Sumaq latte, a lighter take on a brown-sugar cinnamon latte (according to baristas, Sumaq latte is best hot). Alongside the sweeter items, Sumaq serves a panko pesto sandwich, empanadas, and smoked ham and cheese bread. The South American roots, generous hospitality, and green leaves at every corner make this light-filled space a must-go." - Kayleigh Ruller

Peruvian-owned café in LoSo with empanadas, Mason-jar desserts, and a calm, sunlit room. Spotlighted by Charlotte Magazine and flagged by Axios Charlotte for remote work; the panela-sweetened Sumaq latte is a house signature.

This is truly a 5/5 star establishment. Great staff, awesome food, delightful atmosphere. It is very roomy, and the greens add to the relaxing environment. There is even outside seating to enjoy the fresh air. Foods are made fresh and there are so many options (not just what is on the white board). Their ranch and sauces are home made. Plating is fantastic (I like the wooden trays). Delivery can be obtained via GrubHub or Door dash. What to take coffee home to prepare on your own? No problem with their JAGS HEAD COFFEE.

This coffee shop is truly a hidden gem. Loved the interior design. The employees are friendly and polite. I had a vanilla latte and an empanada. Both were delicious. Definitely will have to try their pastries and sandwiches next time!

February 27, 2024...my first time at Sumaq Coffee. The first time was absolute charm! I got there at 10:15 a.m.. The first thing that I noticed was people from many different cultures. Beautiful people! The ambience was very nice. They also have very nice outdoor seating. They have coffee, tea, pastries, empanadas, and excellent sandwiches! Vegan friendly. The staff was wonderful! Very friendly and accommodating. Lots of smiles. 🙂 Five stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Google
Peruvian Coffee is delicious and delivers a smooth satisfying sip. I tried the Dulce Du Leche in an Iced Coffee. It was delicious. I also tried the empanads. Those were unique and meaty. My favorite was the cheese. We also had a light and fluffy waffle that was amazing.

Google
Great coffee shop. Tons of work space and free WiFi. The price of the cinnamon apple cake is pretty high at $7.28/slice and we didn’t care for the heavy spice in it so that was $7 wasted. I’d skip that next time. The lady working was very nice and the drinks are filled to the brim giving you the most bang for your buck there. Overall an enjoyable shop to get some afternoon work done at.

My wife and I love Sumaq. We are passionate about our coffee and try different coffee shops every place we visit. My wife is Spanish and I am Italian and we both grew up drinking good coffee. The coffee at Sumaq is excellent. It has a smooth taste, isn’t acidic, never over roasted or burnt, they understand how temperature impacts a coffees taste and it the lattes are sweetened but not overwhelmingly sweet. We recommend their Sumaq latte. I was very impressed that the owner remembers us and what we drink and genuinely takes an interest. If this says anything, we drive 40 minutes just to come to this coffee shop! Highly recommend. :))

Another great coffee shop in CLT. This place is so nice. It’s nice and open with lots of seating and room to work if you like to work from coffee shops. Staff was friendly and the drinks were good. We tried the Dulce de leche, iced vanilla latte and carrot cake. All were good. The parking and location aren’t the best but that’s ok.

Great place! Smooth coffee, not bitter. The food looks amazing, need to come back and try it. Friendly staff, and the vibe/space is awesome.

Yelp
We love this place. The inside is well designed with fun plant vibes. As "coffee snobs" this is one our short list for great coffee in Charlotte. The food is also delicious and plenty of gluten free options. My favorites are the Dulce du letche latte, the waffle, and the empanadas! Also plenty of tables with charger access for those working.

Yelp
I made what I thought was going to be a quick stop at sumaq today. Parking was at a premium, I had to make my own spot in front of the building. Not sure if there's parking in back. I thought, this place must be good. I went in for gluten free items I saw on the website. I was told that the GF empanadas weren't available so I ended up ordering the regular ones. I also order a gluten free waffle, a dulce de leche coffee and an espresso. The coffee drinks we made in maybe two minutes. I was impressed. Here is where my visit took a turn for the worse. I stood by the pick up counter for ten minutes. I decided to drink my espresso. Another ten minutes, I decided to take a seat. Another ten minutes and still no food. As names started getting called, I noticed customers frustrated as they grabbed their food. After forty five minutes, my order was ready. Two empanadas and a waffle. If I was on my lunch break, I would have had to leave without the food. Saving grace, my wife enjoyed her waffle and dulce de leche latte very much. Empanadas were lovely. The wait time killed this visit for me.

Yelp
This was such a cute spot!! I'm not a coffee drinker so I went more for the wfh vibes and they delivered. The space is very inviting and spacious. Lots of tables if you're coming to work or study. I was so grateful to see that they mindfully placed outlets around because there is nothing worse than having to go on a scavenger hunt for an outlet. The pastries, sandwiches and all the food looked so yummy that I will be back just so I can try! It is a bit loud just because there are many people working, just hanging out, but nothing a pair of headphones can't fix! Also, bring a sweater. It was a bit cold, but that could also just be me. I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness of the bathroom. It smelled divine. The bigger stall had a changing table and a bench in it, which is great for moms! Overall, I enjoyed my time there and can't wait to return for that Nutella toast!

Yelp
Stopped by here for a quick pick me up and got a matcha latte. It was so cute inside and staff was very kind. I was eyeing their passion fruit cheesecake and if I had more time I would have tried but more reason to come back!

Yelp
I like that this is closer to my home. I visited Haraz based off the hype they created on Instagram, but the overcrowded scene killed the vibe there for me. A Coffee bistro/shop is supposed to be like Sumaq. A relaxing place to enjoy a delicious treat and/or coffee. We ordered two of their pastry options, a coffee and a macchiato. Needless to say, amazing
google avatar

Yelp
I loved visiting Sumaq coffee! The ambiance was beautiful, service was fast, and they had so many unique food options. I'll definitely be changing up my home office and coming here to work during the week!

Yelp
Sumaq is a sunny, scrumptious space on South Boulevard with South American style. I love the look & feel with large windows and plants. You order your food/drinks at the counter, and the staff will call your name to come get them once ready. To drink, we got the Dulce de Leche latte and the Sumaq latte, which the staff explained is brown sugar and cinnamon. Both were sweet (but not cloyingly so), comforting, and prepared well. To eat, we got the Wahi House sandwich, which was much tastier than I expected. I typically don't like when sandwiches have a third piece of bread in the middle, but in this case it makes sense - and is delicious - since this extra piece acts as a barrier between the cheese & pineapple layer and the chicken layer. The flavor combination is pretty unique and works well! We also got an alfajor, which is a sandwich cookie with dulce de leche in the middle and powdered sugar on top. This was very nice and shaped like a Christmas tree for the season. Fun & festive! I'll surely be recommending Sumaq for someone seeking a 5-star experience!

Yelp
Beautiful atmospheric place, we came with a friend to have a snack and chat. A very comfortable place to work and study. Beautiful design inside and patio. We took a chicken sandwich and matcha, everything was delicious, the staff was friendly and kind.

Yelp
I've heard so many great things about this place from friends and Yelpies, so I've been itching to check out this place for awhile now....and I finally did, and this was my experience. First of all, the place has its charms. It was minimalistic, but had this rustic leaf-motif...and a nice, open, relaxing vibe. It had a good amount of space, and a nice variety of seatings. I also loved its overhead music...very cool! Now, sadly, must mention some disappointments. Their pastry selection just didn't appeal to me at all...but I thought I'd try their Ham & Cheese Pastry, as well as their Panka Pesto Sandwich. I also ordered Matcha Latte. Overall, I thought their menu was a bit too skimpy...a bit incomplete. Although their plump Ham & Cheese Pastry looked appealing enough, it was bland and tasteless...almost shockingly so?? The Panka Pesto Sandwich was very nicely presented, but I can't say it was delicious...'cuz it just wasn't what I had hoped. For some reason, I thought Chicken was included, but it was basically Prosciutto, Cheese and Arugula. It was really my bad since I didn't thoroughly check the ingredients before ordering. The most disappointing part for me was the Matcha Latte. Given that this is a coffee bar, I expected this to be stellar. The Matcha flavor wasn't as great as I had hoped. Also, the latte usually comes sugared...but not this one. I'm surprised the staff member didn't even ask for my preference. Anyway, I was able to fix it by adding sugar myself...but only after destroying the "Latte Art". Also, since this was a coffee bar, I expected better Latte Art (as seen in other Yelp pics!)...but mine wasn't all quite there. BTW, initially, they didn't even add any "Latte Art"...so I actually had to ask for it. *SIGH* Maybe I'm being too harsh, but the last Matcha Latte I had was at Renaissance Patisserie just last week, and theirs was much better (and I didn't have to ask for "art' or sugar!)...though I expected a better version here, given their name. Overall, I was more impressed with the ambiance than the foods and the Latte. Maybe it was an off day?? In any case, am glad I checked it out.

Yelp
Wow, this place is pretty awesome! I'd heard about this spot before and the pics of it look amazing. I'm usually not in this area so I always forget to check them out, even though I've wanted to for so long. Luckily, a late afternoon meeting brought me to Sumaq Coffee and I'm seriously impressed. Their food menu was really different and everything looked amazing. I was actually sad I had just eaten before I got there lol. I HAVE to come back and try their food. I ended up ordering their tumeric honey latte and it was absolutely delicious. It was the perfect balance of ingredients and I could drink this everyday. Did I mention how beautiful this place is! There's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. It's nicely decorated and very bright and open. This is a top tier coffee shop for sure. I can't wait to go back!
google avatar

Carlos G.

Yelp
Such a great spot! We got the Dulce de leche latte and the Sumaq latte. We also got the Wasi house sandwich, which was both sweet and tangy, and the alfajor paired perfectly with the coffee.

Yelp
A large and airy interior which apparently has some event space function as well greeted me on a rainy day. This place claims to bring the taste of Peru, so I went for a dulce de leche breakfast pastry, which was hearty and interesting, though I couldn't help but ponder many other options. A chai delivered a contrasting spice blend. I noted that the place offers vegan beverages, a quinoa wrap, and a vegan pastry as well, so those in need should be well served here. I wished I could have eaten more.

District R.

Yelp
Superb cortado and service! First time customer, will be back for eats next time... the pastries look like a dream come true
google avatar

Yelp
Yummy coffee and food. Beautiful white and wood decor. Variety of seating options and patio space too. Gluten free waffle option and delicious syrups for the coffee-- highly recommend! They brought out the waffle to me, which was kind. Also, they have the big fancy ice for the iced coffees.
google avatar

Yelp
I just love this place the vibe is so organic. There is plenty of fun seating options for socializing or working. The staff were super friendly and answered several questions. The latte was so smooth and had great espresso flavor. The dessert we got was just the right amount of sweet. I can't wait to return this will be our new post dinner spot.
google avatar

Rachel K.

Yelp
Amazing food and coffee! Weekends are pretty busy so arrive early lol I got the vanilla latte and the spinach and cheese empanadas and waffles. Best coffee I've had in Charlotte so far!
google avatar

Latavia C.

Yelp
Sumaq coffee has a unique calm nude color vibe as soon as you come through the door. With their summer inside tone with the decor. It makes you want to dine in and fellowship with others. They offer a variety of different coffees, non coffee selection, that pairs well with their food options. I decided to try the Frappe with a Carmel mocha. Yummy! The empanadas were amazing, very moist, and flaky with a side of delicious dipping sauce. They have plenty of space out sitting area inside. Everything was very relaxed and clean. The staff was helpful with my order
google avatar

Andy B.

Yelp
This place will quickly outgrow its small parking lot. What a great coffee/eatery on South Blvd! Staff were super welcoming and fun to chat with. The coffee drinks are delicious and you must try the baked goods too. We are already planning on coming back to try some of their sandwiches in the future. Honestly I never thought I would find such a calming coffee shop in this part of town, truly and oasis.
google avatar

Yelp
This is a really cute coffee spot located on S Blvd. It's kind of oddly placed b/c of the surrounding establishments but it def brings its own curb appeal. When it's warm they have a good amount of outdoor seating also. We stopped in with friends for a coffee break Sunday morning around 10. The place was packed and the line was long. Thankfully we were able to find enough seating to accompany our group and the line went by fast. I was able to try the passionfrujt cheesecake, chicken empanada and the hot chai. Hands down then was hot chai I have ever had. I will come back just for that. The chicken empanada and the accompanied sauce was good but was very small. Next time I will get two and also try the beef one as I heard it was delicious. Now as for the passion fruit cheesecake...it was different. It was bad but it was just not giving cheesecake. It gave more flan b/c of the texture and I am not a flan girl at all. Texture aside it did taste good.

Yelp
I would say it's a hidden gem but Sumaq Coffee can be pretty poppin'. It's a great space to work remote, meet with peers, family and friends, and enjoy all the fresh baked goods and cafe menu items. The cafe beverages are unmatched - you definitely need a Sumaq Latte in your life. Good luck NOT licking the mug. Jk, don't be gross - but you will enjoy it. Service is impeccable - the team there really goes above and beyond to ensure customers are happy.
google avatar

Yelp
The ambience in here was so refreshing and cute! The plants in the interior added so much character and really made this place stand out from the rest. I tried their signature Sumaq Latte and it was divine! They give you a napkin to blot your mouth with because it's so foamy and I really appreciated this touch of customer service! I'll definitely be back to try their food and sit on their gorgeous patio!!
google avatar

Yelp
Such a gem in an unnoticed neighborhood. Great to hang, have a meeting, or even work remotely with delicious drinks and treats

Yelp
Super cute, vibey coffee shop on South Blvd. I'm not a coffee drinker and usually go for a chai tea or other tea options. I didn't see any teas on the menu but when I asked about it I was excited to learn they do in fact offer chai tea lattes. I think it was $5.25. Delicious chai served on a cute little platter. They serve the drinks to your table but at the counter they have a condiment/utensils station with honey, sugar, cinnamon etc to add to drinks at your liking. Their chicken empanadas are good, small but good. I think at $3 each they're a little pricey for the size. I've never had an empanada with hard boiled egg on the inside, an interesting addition. The dipping sauce was tasty. It added flavor with just the right amount of spice. There is lots of space to hang out and socialize or do work. Benches, high top tables, chairs etc. They have free WiFi. There were two of us and we weren't able to connect iPhones or iPads but the nice gentleman behind the counter helped us out with a different network. Background noise wasn't bad. play Typical "cafe style" music at a reasonable level. Acoustic covers and such. The bathrooms were clean. The women's bathroom has a large full length mirror which is always a plus. I spent about 2 hours here and think this will become my new go to coffee shop to come relax.
google avatar

Nazhat S.

Yelp
Open floor plan with greenery around. Definitely a cute and chill cafe. Matcha latte was well-made and I enjoyed the two pastries I selected: one savory, one sweet. Prices are reasonable and the staff were friendly. I only wish they were closer to me!
google avatar

Janelle B.

Yelp
The parking lot is small, you can park in the front and on the side of the restaurant. The ambiance is very relaxing and inviting with white and brown decor with greenery and mellow music. They have indoor and outdoor seating. This is a great place for networking, studying or just a day out with your boo.The service was welcoming and they provided assistance when needed. The food, coffee, and matcha tea was a delight. My daughter and I had a power bowl salad with a balsamic dressing and empanadas (Columbian) which was very delectable. It was worth the 30 mins drive. I will definitely be back!
google avatar

Vy D.

Yelp
The signature sumaq latte was my favorite! Also tried the dulce de leche latte. This one was good too but didn't stand out like the signature. The inside is bright and spacious, I think some more real plants might thrive in there, but I'm no plant expert. Service was very good!
google avatar

Ederlyn C.

Yelp
This place gives you Tulum vibes. I love the ambiance. My daughter and I had the beef empanada, dulce de leche latte and Oreo cake. The beef empanada was my favorite. The dip was a tad bit spicy for me but I couldn't stop myself from dipping my empanada in it. It was good. We were going to get the raspberry lemonade as well but unfortunately they were out of lemonade today. The servers were very welcoming and they have smiles on their faces the entire time my daughter and I were there. I will definitely come back here.
google avatar

Vallerie H.

Yelp
Very cute place, nice ambiance. The service is slow paced, so don't go if you're in a hurry. The Wasi House sandwich is to die for!! It's a great portion and amazing flavors, though the third slice of bread might be overkill. The ham & cheese and guava & cheese pastries are really yummy as well! They have a nice drink menu and syrup flavors. I would give them 5 stars if they cleaned the cafe area more often. The appeal of the pretty interior is dampened when the tables and floors are covered in crumbs. I also wish they offered gluten free options. Overall, I recommend this place!

Elana G.

Yelp
Such a cute cafe!! Aesthetically pleasing plus the food and drinks were great! Service was also great. Friendly people!
google avatar

Abby L.

Yelp
I come here just about every weekend. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because of the wait time. Oh the wait time!! It's really a place you come if you aren't in a hurry or you will be pretty upset. I have wait well up to 20 minutes + for drinks sometimes. Average wait is at least 20. The drinks and food are really good. I get the iced Sumaq latte with oat milk. It's delicious! I tried one of the sandwiches and it was good. Pastries are phenomenal!! The menu has many choices that I look forward to trying at some point. The staff is always friendly. Nice environment. Cool outside seating as well!
google avatar

Patrick K.

Yelp
Amazing place to study with big tables where you can work with a laptop and notebook without any issues. fast wifi. The coffee was excellent with iced coffee being one of my favorites! I will definitely be going back
google avatar

Morgan W.

Yelp
GLUTEN FREE waffles (delicious), GF empanadas (amazing), and GF wraps and protein bowls. A great spot if you are gluten free. Nice vibe. Chairs are wicker which is slightly uncomfortable. But brightly lit windows and nice atmosphere.
google avatar

Yelp
If you've been looking... your new favorite coffee shop is off S. blvd. near Archdale Station and is called Sumaq Coffee. It's open everyday from 8am-7pm making it an amazing space for co-working! They have pastries, coffee of course and sandwiches that are all made from scratch and are delicious! My friend got the Alfajores which were perfect and I'm glad she got them because they sold out pretty quickly! So pro tip to go early to get them. I also tried the passion fruit cheesecake which had beautiful passion fruit flavor throughout and was gorgeous to look at! The space is beautiful - it just has good vibes, amazing natural light and a stunning plantscape! I recommend the Sumaq Coffee made with Columbian coffee and the Panka Pesto sandwich - which has pesto, prosciutto, mozzarella and arugula! Only disclaimer is that the sandwich I received was smaller, less toasted and presented differently than the photos I saw on their Insta and menu. The one on their menu is a triple decker sandwich, heavily toasted with fresh mozzarella, and then a balsamic drizzle on top. That was a little misleading but the sandwich I received was still good - it just only has 2 slices, lightly toasted, shredded mozzarella, and no balsamic drizzle on the actual sandwich - just on the plate. IG: @feisty.eats
google avatar

Carrie J.

Yelp
Wow! This whole place is a vibe and the Sumaq Latte is a dream!! The owner is Peruvian and this place is all about South American amazingness!
google avatar

Minna H.

Yelp
Coffee and empanada was good, but the tables and floor was very dirty. I was immediately disappointed because they were not open at 8am as they advertised, so I waited over 10 minutes for the workers to get dropped off, and to open the door. Very unprofessional!! The customer service was terrible, no accountability, no hello, or even a good morning. To add the cherry on top, the bakery items that show in the video were all sat over night and were not fresh and barely has a variety of options to even choose from. Theres also no health rating sign available!
google avatar

Charles P.

Yelp
Consistently good coffee. The cappuccinos are made properly. The food is great as well. Nice staff, always friendly.

Lynn B.

Yelp
This was my ham and cheese. Yep in lower left of bread is the ham and cheese!! Received via doordash. Responded to restaurant thru doordash and thru the website. No response. I liked them before, but this really put a damper on it
google avatar

Bruce K.

Yelp
I stopped in at the start of my Saturday errands for a coffee. Sumaq is in a busy spot along South Boulevard and is a very comfortable space with lots of seating inside and a few seats outside. Power outlets to all of them and some good spots for the laptop workers. And yes, they have a free wifi. Espresso-based drinks and pour-over coffees. Sandwiches and snacks include pastries and wraps. Desserts as well. I had an Americano and I thought the coffee was quite good. Rich taste and served in a ceramic mug filled almost to the very brim. Much enjoyable and it really helped get my day started. [Review 17596 overall - Round number 3300 in North Carolina - 1114 of 2022.]
google avatar

John H.

Yelp
Stopped in pretty quickly to grab an americano and breakfast while running errands. Super clean and whimsical inside with the warm wood tones and giant tree in the center of the action. Staffers were super nice and the place wasn't crowded at all (must of hit the sweet spot). Will have to work my way through the menu, but they also have daily pastries (not listed online). Solid americano. I really like their story origins (South America). All their menu items are super instagramable (I guess that's a verb now). But more importantly: made in house, less processing and starting with great ingredients. There's a cute outdoor area as well, I think I got there too early to where the staff had not put our tables and chairs. Parking lot is a little to be desired especially when it's off the busy south blvd. Ended up parking in the nearby shopping center and trekking in.

Yelp
I swung by here to get some work done and the atmosphere was great! The staff was super kind, the vibes were fabulous, and I loved the overall feel here. I got a matcha latte based off of the glowing recommendations but unfortunately it wasn't what I was expecting. The matcha wasn't mixed the full way which wasn't the best but it definitely had potential. I want to come back here again and re-try because I really wanted to love it. Especially because of the high quality service!

Yelp
Note, UPDATED HOURS: WARM SEASONS: 8am-9pm EST every day COLD SEASONS: 8am-7pm EST every day One our favorite places to visit in the area, great for a snack or a meal, a breath of fresh air from corporatized shops like Starbucks. The FOOD is amazing. We highly recommend the Walpa Wrap with beef (steak). In fact we brought a friend for dinner once and they ordered a second one to take home after finishing the first! All their food is made fresh to order in the back, and it's the quality of a high end bistro for modest prices. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, fast casual style. The COFFEE is delish. We rotate from mocaccinos to americanos to chai teas The PRICE is very fair. Most shops stick to the $5-6 range for standard lattes and this place is no different, except you can enjoy them hot or cold in house, sip from classic coffee mugs that match the tasteful ambiance. The ATMOSPHERE is very chic, mid century modern feel. In fact the shop butts up against a hallway leading to a local photography studio that people rent on a regular basis. Comfy wicker, cushioned seating for parties of one to multiple, including outdoor seating with umbrellas on nicer days. We highly recommend.
google avatar

Jazmine M.

Yelp
I absolutely love Sumaq, this was my second time here and it's the perfect work spot. As an artist I love a place with good lighting to sketch and vibe out. The food options and match lattes are a plus! Every is flavorful, freshly made, and the customer service is impeccable. 10/10 recommend.
google avatar

Rosemary A.

Yelp
From the moment you walk in, you'll be greeted with a warm and friendly atmosphere. One of the highlights of Sumaq is their selection of Spanish bites and sandwiches, including mouth-watering empanadas and delectable guava bread. These snacks are the perfect complement to their delicious coffee and make for a truly authentic and satisfying experience.
google avatar

Meleah S.

Yelp
Such a wonderful, locally owned business. We've stopped in twice now and have had great experiences. The interior is bright and airy. The food is made fresh daily. Both times we've been, I've gotten an iced dulce de leche latte with oat milk, which is delicious! We've tried the ham and cheese bread, the tres leches cake, and the wasi sandwich. Everything is fresh and delicious. I'm excited to continue to visit and support Sumaq! Notes: - because items are made fresh to order, do not come in here in a hurry - my only suggestion for improvement would be for the QR menu to include a description of all items, just so customers can know exactly what is offered before getting to the register and having to ask
google avatar

Kay S.

Yelp
Very nice place to grab a bite. Both sandwiches were really good and the flavors complimented each other well. The staff was super friendly and cleanliness was 10/10. Please keep in mind it's a small place so smaller staff and there may be a longer wait in terms of waiting for food depending on the crowd and what people order. The Wasi house had excellent flavor by itself and the sauce added the extra mile. The cheese didn't overpower the sandwich and you still could taste the pineapple and chicken. The Wallpa quad was chefs kiss. I personally am not a Tomato fan and forgot to ask for none lol but I caught my mistake in time before the tomato saturated the bread and lettuce. I definitely recommend this especially with the side of mayo (it helps) and the hard boiled egg could hardly be recognized as it was more like an aftertaste but not a bad one. ABSOLUTELY LOVED the empanadas, personally I'd do the beef over the chicken but that is my opinion. Definitely going back.

Yelp
5 stars, great find on our trip to Charlotte. Latte was outstanding, and the waffle was delicious!! Friendly service and great vibes to go along with exceptional food and drink. Worth the trip off the highway!!
google avatar

Iwona A.

Yelp
Cute space. The drink and food options are cool too. There is a hispanic influence so you can get pastries like guava cheese. There is both indoor and outdoor seating. There's also free wifi, making it a great place to sit and work. I got the chai tea latte and it tasted delicious. There is ample parking too.

Yelp
This place is to die for. I had the cafe con leche latte and empanadas, and it was muy delicioso. The space is minimalist and beautiful. Looking forward to trying the Sumaq latte.

Yelp
Very cute Quechua coffee shop in Charlotte with a variety of Peruvian inspired coffees & baked treats. Definitely gives Peruvian vibes and is a nice throw back for anyone missing the feeling of Cusco or Lima. Highly recommend trying something a bit different Maracuya (passion fruit) cheesecake or Alfajores. The Sumaq latte was amazingly warm & earthy with hints of cinnamon. Just be sure to get it half sweet if you aren't a fan of super sweet drinks.
