To be clear, there certainly wasn't anything bad in terms of the food, service or atmosphere. That said, there was also nothing in the cuisine to even remotely justify the 2 Michelin stars this place garnered.
On the atmosphere, the restaurant was undoubtedly lavish with beautifully laid out tables, dishware, etc. Service was, like Golden Leaf, quite good though nothing exemplary. And the dim sum, the sum total of the many dishes sampled was lackluster given the accolades. Baked cha siu bao, siu mai, har gao, rice rolls...all good enough and honestly just at the level of a good, affordable restaurant in the Bay Area. The goon tong gao was actually outright disappointing as the meat inside was bland and dry. The one saving grace turned out to be some tasty hot Chinese herbal jelly, a preparation I've not seen at all in the US so far.
For anyone with at least a decent amount of experience eating dim sum, I'd save your money and go elsewhere unless you're truly curious.
