⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Tried this spot off a recommendation and wow — totally lived up to the hype. I’m picky about my coffee (yes, I judge by the color 😅), and my lavender cappuccino with oat milk was perfect. Could’ve easily gone for round two. I had my 2- and 3-year-old with me, so cookies were a must — and they loved them. Huge bonus: there’s a playground right outside, plus a few artsy shops nearby that add to the vibe. The whole setup gave me straight-up LA coffee shop energy. From the start, the barista made me feel welcome, and the one who helped me (swear he looked a lot like Cillian Murphy 😆) was super sweet with my kids. My favorite detail, though, was spotting the LGBTQ flag inside — it made the space feel extra welcoming. 🌈 Add in a rewards program, and I’ve already got excuses to come back. Next time, though, I might leave the little munchkins at home so I can actually linger over my cup.

I visited this café twice at different times of the day, sitting both downstairs and upstairs. The drinks are really good, but if you arrive close to closing time, the service is not as attentive. Upstairs has a bit of an unpleasant smell and feels warmer, but overall it’s a very busy and popular location.

On a road trip to Florida and Needed a great cup of coffee. Found Summit Coffee Basecamp on Google. Everyone's review are right! This was The Best brewed decaf I've ever had. It was super smooth and balanced, with natural cherry and chocolate tones that came through clearly without any added flavorings. You would never guess it was decaf – just a clean, rich cup that feels truly crafted with care.

Friendly and great atmosphere! Love visiting Davidson this coffee shop is a must visit!! Best Coffee honestly ever!! They make their own coffee beans roasted and absolutely amazing!!! I always buy extra beans to take home!! We had 6 different people all together sitting inside enjoying our delicious drinks my favorite place ever!! You must go!! Loved it! They have a beautiful outdoor sitting area as well!!

Summit Coffee is a neat gem in the town of Davidson. My review is surely influenced by coming during a busy time of the day during the Davidson Farmer’s Market. With that being said the shop is very unique and was quite small downstairs but had seating upstairs. The Coffee was smooth and good but took a really long time to come out and the ice while is nice melt really quickly and can water down ur drinks. It is a nice spot but was not the best experience and service was not the most welcoming but were certainly trying their best.

I base reviews of coffee shops/cafes on two things - quality of their drip coffee and bonus points if they roast their own and offer a fresh pour over. This coffee shop has been around for over 20 years and I can see why the community loves it. Happy we got to try it while in town!

Love love love Summit Coffee. Parking can be hit or miss especially on the weekends. It is street parking 2 hour max. On Saturdays there is a flourishing farmers market full of fresh veggies, food, honey, and local meats. Come early because it gets busy! They're one of the few shops who make their own pastry. It is amazing. Fresh, delicate, buttery, incredible flavor. I highly recommend the tomato feta Danish and the blueberry scone. Try dipping bits of your scone in their rotating drip coffee. I tried sweater weather today based on Gabes recommendation. Their lattes are awesome as well! Each cup is perfectly crafted with micro foam and a beautiful design. A++ The shop gives off chill vibes and is full of plants, an upstairs with board games, and plenty of places to sit outside.

I got a vanilla latte and a croissant. The staff seemed nice. The vanilla latte is your average vanilla latte, the croissant was big and fluffy. I got the croissant warmed, but it was still cold on the inside (still tasted good though). They have a downstairs and upstairs. The downstairs has a good amount of sunlight vs upstairs. I would say the environment is good to study in or work remote from!

Summit Coffee is one of my favorite coffee shops in Davidson, with a great location near several stores and Farmers Market. The baristas are kind, and the cafe has a cool decorative vibe! There are small tables lined against the wall so you can sit, drink, eat, and visit. It gives the feeling of community. There are several larger tables outside for working or meeting with a big group. I usually see a lot of families out there as it's a great space for the children to run around. The coffee is great. I like their lattes, but this past visit I enjoyed a black coffee. It was smooth and bold with a splash of oat milk. So good! We drive an hour just to experience this kind of coffee shop vibe, service, and lattes! Can't wait for my next cup of coffee at Summit!

Wonderful coffee shop along Main Street. I arrived around 9am on a Thursday and saw many people walk in and out quickly and then found out why -- mobile ordering! They have a small pastry selection of yummy looking scones and seasonal drink menu along with the usual coffee selection. I opted for a matcha latte with vanilla syrup. There is seating on the first floor and I hear there's a second floor but it doesn't have AC, however the back patio area is wonderful so we sat out there. Friendly staff, yummy matcha and great ambience.

Summit coffee has exploded in growth in the Charlotte area. I am so glad their quality has not changed. They have really great coffee, I think roasting their own beans is probably why. I love their lattes, and their drip. I buy beans from them as well. It is a pleasure to get a Summit Caffe Latte and go walk around the Farmer's market on Saturday mornings. Every location I have been to is great, give them a try!

This is a cute little coffee shop to come to. I got the tomato jam feta danish warmed up it was so fresh followed with a hot cup of chai. The danish was great must try.

Main Street gem. The nonfat latte is excellent, & I'm usually kinda picky. The service is always super fast when I'm there (though to be fair, I usually try to go during off/not peak hours). The inside is super cute. I love the remodel/restyle they've done over the last few years.

Super cute shop and great coffee. Scone was great too. Must come if you're in town. Lots of seating inside and out. Walking distance to the college.

Tea drinkers will love this coffee bar! Great variety of teas offered here and they make delicious tea lattes! Friendly staff and quaint seating areas indoor and outdoor makes this neighborhood gem worth visiting!

Super cute atmosphere. Has a lot of seating upstairs. Great study spot I got an iced chai latte for $5.50. Oat and almond milk are included with no extra cost. The latte was pretty good. They have some fun flavors like blueberries and strawberries.

Came here on a Sunday morning after church. Easy parking, and plenty of seating upstairs and downstairs. Cute building along the Main Street of Davidson college. Staff was friendly, but not very engaging. If you want you're coffee in a for-here mug, make sure to ask for it, default seems to be to-go mug. They used their Kilimanjaro for espresso, which to me tasted smooth with a nutty fruit, medium body. I bought a bag of Alpine beans, love they have roasted dates on their bags! Overall pricey, and they up charge for every addition/substitution.

Very good coffee. Service was excellent and everyone was friendly. There is not a large food selection. A few pastries and some granola. I did get the birthday cake cookie and it was fantastic. I got it each morning because i would crave it. It went perfect with a cup of base camp coffee. There is actually plenty of seating for a small place.

No Splenda!? No reason offered. Not acceptable. Done with summit. Liked the coffee and scones, can not understand how a coffee shop does not provide a very popular sweetener.

Overpriced coffee that is really just a small step above Folgers. Whoever roasts the coffee at this place thinks they know what they're doing but has clearly been mislead. Way too acidic. The managers are also condescending. everything here leaves a bad taste in your mouth.

Visited my son and got two pour over coffes and scones while I was here. One of the best cups of coffee I have had in my life. I know, but it was actually that good. And the scones were delish.

Neat coffee shop in downtown Davidson. The downstairs area by the register is a little cramped and if you're thinking that they're too full for you, do not despair. There is a very large upstairs seating area with tables and a sofa with room for at least 40 people. My cortado this morning was excellent. I'm really enjoying these having switched from latte cappuccino. The difference is that the milk is merely steamed to heat it but not foamed. Free wifi, a bunch of power outlets and great coffee. Never will my family step foot in her again. There were NO mask mandates in Charlotte at all, the pandemic was over and the coffee barista told my husband to put on a mask. Nobody wears masks people!!! It's been over! He let the kid know but the kid walked away and refused to serve him. He literally just walked away. Who does that? Who tries to force masks when that's been over for a long time?! They lost faithful customers. We'll never go there again. FYI, we emailed the owners and crickets. No response at all. Guess that shows the real issue. It's the leadership.

The ambiance was perfect. They have a lot of seating both inside and outside. I chose to sit on the top level to finish homework, but the first level is more so for meeting with friends. I got a chai latte with oat milk (they don't charge extra for ) and a vegan pastry. Overall would go back!

Service was great. Staff was friendly. Prices are typical. Got a latte and it tasted good. Location is small, but it's a nice spot for some coffee to go, or to sit and hang if you're lucky to snag a seat. I gave it four stars because I found the syrups/flavors to be a little lacking. They had the typical flavors and two seasonal flavors which were a bit off (exotic?)of a pairing in my opinion. Overall I was happy with my experience.

Staff are super nice but coffee is flavorless. I also asked for an extra shot of espresso in my coffee and yet it still tasted watered down. The lattes taste like milk sugar without syrup. Sorry, won't be going back.

I've been to this coffee shop two times now and each time I get a perfectly made drink and great service( Chai latte with oat milk, herbal iced tea). I'd come back to do homework on the patio or explore the upper level (not sure if there is more seating up there). The only reason I don't give the fifth star is because it's a bit tight in there and gets so busy that the line goes out the door. I like the vibe of the overall place and reminds me of a coffee shop I would have found back home in MN.

Such a quaint coffee shop. I ordered an iced latte and tried their seasonal flavor peach & lavender and it was amazing. I'm normally not the type to add flavors but I wanted to give it a try and I'm glad i did. Not too sweet at all. The shop is small but has a nice atmosphere and a pretty large patio

Genuinely some of the worst coffee I've ever tasted, and I've been in the coffee business for over 10 years. Franchising like Starbucks is also an embarrassment.

We went to a different coffee shop and it was awful and ended up at summit. The place is super cute inside, staff was very nice and helpful, and the coffee was delicious!

The coffee was just ok. The milk was steamed too much and it makes the flavor off. It didn't seem that the espresso shot was pulled at high enough pressure, there was some depth missing. Could be good in a pinch and maybe we just were there on an off day but we travel a lot and go out of our way to find amazing local coffees, we could have skipped this one.

Love this coffee and the people. Oh and the new savory scones are soooo delicious! Thank you!

The family and I wound up in the Davidson area on an impromptu vacation when we left Florida ahead of Hurricane Irma's expected arrival. The friends we stayed with suggested, when they found out about my love of local coffee shops, that I check out Summit Coffee. I made sure to do just that. On my first visit to Summit, yes I went twice during our four days there, I turned my back on my normal coffee drink. Instead I was intrigued by a special drink Summit was offering that mixed lemonade with coffee. It sound absolutely hideous but, like a rubbernecker or a train wreck, it sound so hideous that I just had to try it. It took a few sips before I realized just how terrible of a decision that was. This drink was not good. It wasn't the coffee's fault. It probably also wasn't the lemonade's fault. Those two drinks just shouldn't be partnered up. Like a terrible marriage, they do nothing but bring each other down. I couldn't leave Davidson with that bad taste in my mouth. I mean the friends we stayed with said this was the best coffee they've ever had and I couldn't believe that their tastebuds would be so far off. So before heading out of town I drove back to Summit and took a coffee to go. This time I was not swayed by trainwrecks or out of the ordinary drinks, I went with my tried and true drink. The iced latte with vegan milk was absolutely on point. It wasn't overly saturated with sweetness, I could still get a sense of the great Summit coffee taste. I loved the taste. There wasn't the lingering bitterness in their coffee that I dislike about some of those chain coffee shops. So, in short, go to Summit and get your drink of choice and you'll most likely be pleased. If you stray outside of that, watch out, you could find yourself face-to-face with something truly scary.

Being a coffee nerd, I made our friends that we were visiting drive us to Summit. I'm always really excited to check out coffee shops, especially ones who serve their own roasted coffee, but sadly, we were underwhelmed by the experience. The space is decent. Very fitting of their concept. There's a really nice outdoor area in the back, and there was live music back there when we stopped in. The inside has a bit of that second wave coffee vibe, which is totally fine (they were established in '98, after all). It was just a bit dark, and a little messy, overall. Perhaps the mess was post-rush. No idea. The staff was friendly, but not super excited about talking coffee or answering questions, so we sort of just ordered. I will preface this by saying that I worked in coffee for a while, and still spend a lot of time with coffee, so I'm extra picky when it comes to the craft/preparation. The lack of passion from the staff in that moment translated into the cup. I ordered a cortado, which was prepared pretty well from a temperature standpoint, but texture was a bit too dry, and the espresso tasted really under-extracted. Sour bomb. If we hadn't been in a hurry, I might've tried another shot just to compare, but it'll have to wait. My wife really didn't enjoy her cold brew. I enjoyed it more than my cortado, but it was a standard cold brew, if a little too dark for my own preference. Overall, my experience was shaping up to be really disappointing, but I picked up some bags of beans to brew at home, and they were solid! Especially the Finca La Toma, Colombian, brewed as an espresso. Perhaps I wasn't fan their Kilimanjaro espresso in the shop, but after trying their other roasts, I can chalk my in-shop disappointment up to a poorly-pulled shot. Bad shots happen and slip through, so I can't hold it against their staff too much. I simply had high expectations. Hopefully next time we're in town and stop into Summit (and I would give it another try, knowing they're roasting tasty beans), we'll have a better experience.

My lovely wife and I.came here on our trip to Lake.norman. Quaint little coffee shop,right in main street Davidson across the street from Davidson college. Exceelnt coffee. Very tranquil on a Sunday around lunch the.which as very nice. My wife had the house drip. She said if was excellent. Service.was 5/5. Coffee was 5/5. Wonderful little place for a little rest on a lazy Sunday afternoon.

This is such a delightful little coffee shop! It's got a great small town feel because it's situated right off Main Street in Davidson. The inside is cozy and homey with wood interiors and a small glass case of local deserts. Don't let the downstairs fool you. It's got limited seating, but upstairs there's some nice tables to study at and outside they have benches and even a stage. I personally love their coffee. I'm a sucker for a good matcha latte, and they make an exceptionally tasty one! I think their seasonal menu is eclectic and delicious as well. I once had a good lavender latte here. The staff is always friendly, and the wait times aren't too bad either. While this is a stones throw from Davidson College, I don't feel out of place here. There's a good mix of crowd from young adults, families, and college kids. They have a good mix of events including Monday night bingo and open mics. This is a place where you can come for the coffee and stay for the great sense of community and home!

Good coffee. Super super quick service. Nice vibe. Asked for vanilla latte and sure got vanilla, a little too much for me, but I guess that's what I asked for. Nothing wrong here at all, good choice for coffee. Open early and late (for Davidson) which is nice.

The staff use to be much more friendly. It seems like customer service has suffered since Covid began. I suppose that can be expected to some extent. When I moved to Davidson in 2015 I thought Summit was absolutely fantastic. It's still ok, but not what it was. Perhaps they need to be more selective in hiring.

This place is such a cool little shop. They have coffee and some goodies, I also saw a sign that they have beer, but it was too early for me to ask about that. I came on a Sunday morning and it was already buzzing with patrons. They have a small inside area and a pretty large back patio to sit on. The patio was too hot for me this particular day, so I enjoyed a nice indoor, tiny table. I ordered a double espresso with chocolate and it was ready fairly quick for how busy they were. The espresso was very good and quite strong. I was happy with my choice. The staff was really friendly. They did a nice job of keeping things moving on a busy morning.

Meh. Bland drinks, surly employees who don't know how to say thank you, buckets everywhere because they won't fix the roof, bathrooms out of orders. I hate to say this, but a freaking Dunkin would be a better choice.

Just started working at the new Firebirds on Birkdale Commons Parkway. Popped in early to get an almond milk flat white. So good, and the staff was super nice! (I'm a grumpy cat until 9:30 to 10!) Only 'complaint' is that they didn't have hazelnut syrup, but I just got caramel and no big deal! If you're happy and giving me coffee at 8:30 am we are cool! The muffins and pastries looked really good and fresh, I'm just not an early bird eater. But super impressive. And mentioning I worked at Firebirds got me surprise 10% discount! Hello tip jar!

New to NC I've noticed that the majority of the people seem VERY friendly and helpful. I'm not sure what happened to this location, but they clearly didn't get the memo on friendliness or customer service. The lanky employee with glasses was not helpful at all and seemed overwhelmed with hardly anyone in the shop. Their menu is very limited and the majority of the food items are gluten free. I asked for an iced coffee hoping it would be sweet and at least drinkable, but it was utterly disgusting! I took one sip and left the entire full glass on the table! She had an Affogato which was also horrible! Bad tasting coffee with a scoop of ice cream which should be gelato. We also ordered a slice of their Nutella Cake which surprisingly was edible and not bad. Overall I would NEVER come back, and truthfully have had better coffee at Dunkin Donuts.

Maddie and Hannah are the greatest baristas. Kind and charismatic. Not only are the workers here great, the coffee and the trail runner breakfast bar are LEGIT. Highly recommend this place for a coffee date or study session (upstairs!).

This nice little downtown Davidson coffee shop sure attracts a good sized crowd especially when it is warm enough to utilize the outdoor seating. Many young parents enjoy their coffee drinks while their kids play on the swing set. The coffee is pretty good, the people working there are nice but the location seems to be the biggest draw and many customers know each other.

Summit offers Davidson a cute small town local atmosphere without the feel of a chain coffee spot. They recently (within the last month or so) painted the interior and changed some of the seating options downstairs. The upstairs "lounge" is COZY. Great for some light conversation, but the real convenience is the ability to grab and go. Food items at Summit have never been a hit for me. I've tried a scone, and a bite of a cupcake and they all felt kind of stale. They don't claim to be foodies, and really put the umph of your experience into the beverages. The espresso is bold and strong and the best thing you can order. The small latte is my go to. I've had some of their dark roasts coffees, and they're just not my favorite. Some of them have unique flavor combinations and others just left me with too much of that sumatra earthy taste in my mouth. If you're unsure of what to get, I'd stick with a latte.

best coffee in LKN area! started going here during COVID shutdown when Summit opened a "drive-to" location (genius idea!) in Davidson and have continued visiting the Main Street location on weekends. Super friendly staff and great cold brew!

Ordered the Allspice Latta and was happy with the taste, but very unhappy with all the spices in my teeth. Seriously! I've never had unfiltered coffee before and will never have it again. The "allspice" was all in my teeth. To make matters worse, my stomach was torn up after that latte. It must have contained gluten, which I wasn't expecting at all. My stomach has never hurt so bad after a drink. I wouldn't go back. The reason for 2 stars is because they serve beer and have a cute place to sit outside. Not for the coffee or slow service.

Meh..., better made espresso made elsewhere with half the attitude. Have been here a few times and have always left seemingly with the feeling of why do I come back here. Shame there is not another place in Davidson to get a well made Cortado with a bit more "we're glad you're here have a great day" and less of a feeling I ought to be happy with what I got, now leave.

Drove here from Charlotte, NC to try something different. A caucasian guy working as a cashier kept giving us dirty looks wasn't a welcoming environment. Racist vibes but the coffee is okay kinda expensive.

Went in yesterday for a bag of whole bean coffee for my little brothers birthday. The staff informed it comes with a free small cup of coffee and I said oh wow thanks so much and got a base camp. I then saw a flyer for their new pumpkin drinks and thought it might be nice to have some pumpkin syrup in my coffee so I asked if I could pay extra for the syrup and she said yeah. Well just at that time another employee was walking behind me and said to one of the other customers there "didn't expect that" and then they laughed. She added my syrup to my coffee and I left. All this to say the staff is condescending and thinks they invented the hipster coffee vibe. Hire less apathetic staff.

We came to your coffee shop to kill some time before meeting friends for dinner. We walked in and took a moment to look over the menu. The cashier was very helpful. Once we got our drinks my partner asked for half and half from the barista. She gave him a half gallon. We poured it in our coffee and saw it was lumpy (had gone bad). He took both drinks back to the barista. He stood there for 3 minutes and she never acknowledged him. He then went to the cashier for help and she gave us both new coffees and new half and half. We really wanted to like your place but it left a sour taste so we won't be coming back.

Coffee with oat-milk had a weird sour taste. Not friendly service either. Cute shop, wish I would've ordered something else.

Amazing coffee in this adorable town. We had several of their fresh scones while we were enjoying our coffee and they were delicious.
