"For the best rice rolls in Chinatown, head to this tofu factory on Henry Street. Order from the window on the street, and you’ll get to watch as rice rolls are made to order right in front of you, going from liquid to gooey noodle sheet in a matter of a minute or so. Depending on your filling of choice (we like the tiny dried shrimp, but pork or egg are good bets too), this will cost somewhere between $1.50 and $2. Top that with the variety of sauces - peanut, soy, hoisin, and sriracha - and you have one of the best breakfasts/lunches/snacks in NYC. There isn’t anywhere to sit, but you’ll also probably scarf the contents of the styrofoam container down in about three minutes on the street anyway. Just come early in the day, as they’re only open from 7:30am to 3pm. photo credit: Noah Devereaux" - Hillary Reinsberg

CASH ONLY. For the price, this is an excellent rice roll that is SUPER QUICK. No more waiting 40 minutes at any other location. The ladies working here will get your order in 3-5 minutes flat. I highly recommend the egg rice roll and add scallions. They also keep sauces outside that are all delicious: hoisin, peanut sauce, soy sauce, and sriracha. I personally just added all 4 and it was delicious. This is really great for the price and might now be my go to spot when I need this.

The woman who served me is not even 1% hygienic. She kept the same gloves on the whole time—she doesn’t change them. I was in line watching her, and she handled money, made food, touched her phone, etc., without changing gloves even once. I find this completely unhygienic because I work in a restaurant, and in our restaurant, it’s mandatory to change gloves constantly and wash hands. I ordered the beef rice roll, and I wouldn’t come back to eat here again.

One of the best rice rolls that I had ever have. Price is very reasonable and you can eat outside next to the shop or take back to your hotel room / office. Seafood and pork rolls are both wonderful and very memorable!

Note: this is a cash-only spot. We ordered the Chinese sausage and vegetable cheung fun, which was made fresh to order and served with a variety of sauces. Later, we also got a small sweet tofu pudding. The cheung fun portions were smaller compared to other places but perfect for a quick bite. The tofu pudding was smooth and comforting—and surprisingly generous for a "small" portion!

Great place to get some on-the-go breakfast. Flat rice noodles done in a very traditional way and to order. Staff are genuine and friendly too.

No-frills Cantonese steamed rice rolls at an unbeatable price. The food is simple yet so flavorful and comforting - be sure to add sauces like soy, peanut, and hoisin after getting your rice roll! This is primarily a takeout spot, but you can still enjoy your meal in the open space outside the restaurant.
