Delicious Korean soups and meats. I enjoyed #7 the beef short rib soup that comes with noodles. I love that you can choose purple rice instead of white rice at no additional cost. They’re open 24 hours a day. Efficient service and friendly although they were busy. Free sides, but they were all spicy vegetables so I would have preferred more variety. A bit on the expensive side, but their food was very good.

Google
First time to Sun Nong Dan and I can agree with the other reviewers that it's good. The staff was friendly in serving hot tea and refilling the banchan of pickled vegetables and also checking in. We ordered the Galbo Jjim. Given my unfamiliarity and struggle with the beef short ribs, the staff was kind to help cut up and aid in us enjoying the dish. Soup looks to be a specialty as I saw countless tables of multigenerational families or couples enjoying. Parking can be a bit challenging as the lot is shared with other businesses but being patient with a wait will yield a spot given the turnover of ppl grocery shopping. The restaurant can also be busy with a wait but there are a lot of tables inside.

Google
They remodeled the inside and it looks bigger by removing some partitions so it is very noisy! Fast service.. delicious galbi and definitely add the cheese ! Is worth the extra if not just for presentation!!

Sun 9/29: 8 am had the #1 Beef Soup breakfast special. $12 for ton of good food. Will come back to try the other $12 breakfast specials (daily 6-10:30am). This branch (all 4 branches?) is now 24/7 which will be handy for late night munchies.

Google
I would leave this place a higher review if it wasn't too loud. It's not the restaurant's fault since they usually have a lot of customers. It is a very big Korean cuisine restaurant that opens 24 hours. Which is very rare these days, especially since after Covid-19. But the place gets absolutely packed during rush hours despite having big spaces. The staff are really friendly so you'll feel welcomed here. The food tastes absolutely 🔥. Like literally, if you ordered one of the dishes, they'll torch it right in front of you. The portion size is big and can feed a party of 4 easily. Whenever I come here, I always order their Galbi Jim (Braised Beef Short Rib & Back Rib). Which is the one they'll torch in front of you if you add cheese on top. It is very delicious and filling. I definitely would recommend it as one of the party dishes if you have a bigger party. Finding parking there is somewhat a terrible experience. It's in the same plaza with 3,4 other restaurants plus a supermarket. So you know people will always be fighting for a spot there. Be prepared. Also, when it's rush hours. Get ready to wait. During its peak hours, you'll have to wait at least 45 mins for a party of 3 or above.

Google
Their signature galbi jjim (braised short ribs) is beyond amazing—rich, tender, and bursting with flavor. The portions are generous, and every dish is packed with authenticity. The sizzling presentation and perfectly balanced spices make it an unforgettable dining experience. If you’re a fan of Korean cuisine, this place is a must-try

Google
MY KOREAN BRETHREN: DO NOT ORDER THE 떡국 I got galbitang as always, but my husband ordered the ddukguk, and it is NOT IT. And it's like 20 bux???? Bruh. It's like watered down 설렁탕 with mad pepper, very unsatisfactory meal. Go to Arcadia Hmart and they do it better for cheaper. I don't even think it's the fault of the kitchen for the day. I think this is just the recipe they serve. Also kimchi was very mid today but that's because I know they can do better.

Max Soi

Google
I got the galbi to go with extra meat and 3 beef noodle soups. The meat was super flavorful and very tender. It was enough to feed 12 people with leftovers.

Yelp
I like that this place is open late. The food is decent enough. However, the service leaves much to be desired. The staff seemed tired and were quite unfriendly.

Hieu H.

Yelp
Opens 24/7, always busy. Expected to wait at least 30 minutes if you go during peak hours. The food is always solid and consistent in the flavor. which is a surprise for a 24/7 restaurant. Food can take a while, I assume they make it fresh to a certain point. It is huge inside with multiple tables, service is very standard. If you crave for galbi jjim all of a sudden at 3am, solid place to go!

Rachel L.

Yelp
We came on a Wednesday night. They're open 24/7 so it's our go to for late night food. There wasn't a wait and we were seated immediately. As with most Korean soup restaurants, our order came with a full set of banchan. We ordered the Koh Galbi Jjim which had both short ribs and ox tail. The extra cheese is a nice instagrammable moment and makes the dish more creamy and savory but we didn't order it this time (i would recommend for anyone coming for the first time tho!). The Koh Galbi Jjim comes with rice (purple/white) as well. Food 5/5 Service 5/5 Ambiance 5/5

Yelp
We usually go to the Ktown Sun Nong Dan but we were in the area so we decided to try this location. The venue is very big, spacious and clean. Food as always was fantastic. Service was awesome. Our waiter Wang even helped to cut all the meat off the bones in our galbi jjim. Would definitely return to this location if in the area again. As a bonus, they have mandu dumplings as this location.

Vicky W.

Yelp
Been here many times and love the food. Came here after work to celebrate my coworker's birthday. Very welcoming and friendly service. We started dinner early as 5pm so not many customers in the restaurant. Spacious and neat dinning area as always. We ordered the most two popular items on the menu: #7 and #25. First time for me to try the Galbi Tang, OMG!!! Super tasty and heartwarming. Generous portion of the beef short ribs, the king oyster is very fresh and tender, soup base is ON POINT. Cant wait to bring my family here ASAP.

Yelp
After a late-night gym session, we were on the hunt for something satisfying and something warm, filling, and packed with all the good stuff. It was already 11 PM, and instead of another night of tacos or In-N-Out, we wanted something that hit differently in the cold. That's when we found this 24/7 spot. Normally, when you think of a place open around the clock, you expect bad service, questionable cleanliness, and food that's just okay at best. But that couldn't be further from the truth here. The moment we sat down, we were served side dishes right away, and within minutes of ordering, our soups arrived piping hot! no more than a 10-minute wait. Service is quick and straight to the point. The vibe? Casual and no-fuss--bright lighting, a laid-back atmosphere, and a crowd that's just there to eat and enjoy. One of the highlights? They have a dish where they bring a torch to the table to melt the cheese--a full-on show and definitely worth ordering. Maybe one day with a bigger crowd of attendance, we will order one. If you're craving slow-cooked, tender meats, spicy and comforting soups, and a hearty bowl of carbs, this place is where you need to be.

Yelp
I should preface this with .... I'm hella white The sides here are definitely more spicy than I'm used to, but this is the most fun I've had at a Korean place in a long time! The service is .... Welll.... Non verbal but they bring EVERYTHING you request. I love this style of service.... Lemme eat baby! Ambiance is .... We all eating Love love love this place

Yelp
Between visits to this location and the one over in HH, I've eaten at this establishment at least five times. There's comfort in being able to come to a restaurant that is reliably open during weird hours and serves a meal that warms you up on a winter night. Most recently, we came here after a concert. There was still a healthy number of patrons dining, and yet the noise level was low. While we did get seated easily, it took a while for the wait staff to realize that we had yet to order. I've usually gone with any variation of Galbi Tang, and when dining with a large group we'd share a Soo Yook. This time around I went with the #15 Guk Bap, which had a rich, spicy taste from the honeycomb tripe and beef broth which went well with a bowl of purple rice. Next time I'll probably stick with good ol' Galbi Tang though. Between the tang and the banchan, it was more than enough food at an hour when food coma hits pretty fast.

Yelp
I've already been here twice this month--it's just that good! One night, we were starving and decided on a late dinner around 10:30 PM. The four of us each ordered a beef soup but couldn't stop eyeing the galbi-jjim. We gave in and ordered it too. It ended up being way too much food, but at that point, we were way past hangry--totally worth it! I had the #1 Sulung Tang (beef soup), and my husband ordered the #13 Roh Guk Bap (beef brisket with dried cabbage in a spicy soup). He loved his choice, though I wish they offered a non-spicy version because I'm a big fan of dried cabbage. The star of the meal, though, was the galbi-jjim with toasted melted cheese. This dish was hearty, savory, and absolutely delicious--a comforting stew-like platter featuring short rib, back rib, tteokbokki, potato, and carrot. We all agreed it was the bomb and happily split the leftovers. We recently came back and stuck to just soup--perfect for the cold weather--but we're already planning another visit soon with more friends to share the galbi-jjim.

Yelp
This place is my comfort food home and I love that they're open 24 hours because you know what I'm doing after the club, I'll be here. My go to's are #10 and #5. I wish they put on the menu which ones have mushrooms and which ones don't because I love to order the #5 beef cheek, but it doesn't come with anything else inside. Every bowl comes with a side of rice and noodles inside. Salt your own broth to taste and it is just a super comforting and hearty meal. The banchan is also super yummy and tastes fresh. Service can be slow at some times as they seem understaffed as of right now, but if you're not in a rush for your food then definitely a good spot to go to if you're craving sul lung tang

Yuqing C.

Yelp
Big shout out to Alex. Alex was amazing! He was very friendly, paid great attention to our needs, and knew the menu well. He made our dinner special and we really enjoyed his service. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Ambiance: bright, busy and bustling, comfortable seating but can accommodate many people Service: given that it was so busy, it did feel more difficult flagging someone down, but we were helped as quickly as possible. I also believe because it was so busy our waitress was a little frustrated taking our order, but understandable. Food: considering how much the su yuk dish is ( ~$65), it does feel like they skimped out on the amount of protein. I say this because in comparison to similar establishments, the dish normally would be able to feed about 3-4 people but the one here feels like it could feed more like 1-2. Other than that, the taste and quality is up there. The galbi jjim is consistently delicious, and I would say more fairly priced. I have had the soy sauce based one (no spice) and the mild spice sauce is significantly tastier and full of umami. If you can't tolerate spiciness, the mild is still very much tolerable. The banchan has a lot of variety but may be too spicy for some people. Overall, it gets busy after 6pm (justified since the food is great and two dishes ~$200 after tips can feed a family of 6)

Yelp
This place never misses... sometimes there's a bit of a line, and the parking you'll usually have to pay for valet, but overall still worth the visit. Love that they are open super late for post evening activities! Another great alternative to bcd Both the soups and the galbijjim are solid picks depending on what you're in the mood for. Good portion sizes and the best kimchi

Yelp
One thing about this area I just found out is that there are a lot of restaurants open super late and one open 24 hours!! Was up again at 2am so I went to go check out Sun Nong Dan off Las Tunas. The place was packed at 2am!!! I was seated immediately since I was only a party of 1. I wanted to try the #7 or #8 but the server said they'd run out of it. Ok so I decided to try the # 17 which is a brisket soup w king oyster mushrooms and green onions w a side of purple rice. NEVER had purple rice before but it was delish!! They set up a table top stove and served it in a very large pot. This soup was enough for 4 people or 2 very hungry people who could eat a lot. I most definitely could not finish the whole thing since it was so much food!! Took the rest to-go for lunch the next day. They also serve banchan which was good too! I really, really like the soup. It had a very subtle, yet comforting taste. It paired well w the purple rice. I love the king oyster mushrooms in it, which gave it a great flavor and its texture was similar to tendon in pho. Service was a bit slow since there were only 3 servers running around trying to accommodate the fully packed restaurant. One thing I've observed is that most tables were ordering the #25, Koh Galbi Jjim, for the "fire show." I'll try that next time I go back w a big group because that dish is $85 and looked like it was enough to feed 8-10 people. I'm happy that there is a spot I can go to at 2am when my insomnia is kicking in lol! Would definitely come back to try the other soups and hopefully one day, the fire show!!

Yelp
I love this place. Okay so my family and i came here for their oxtail dish. We were sseated right away and there was barely any line where went. They asked us what we wanted to drink - all of us ordered their tea and 1 glass of ice water for the child. Then they came around with their banchans - kimchi, cucumber, jalapeño soy onions... everything came out so ddelidelicious and tasty. Their rice is purple! So yummy. We didn't have to wait long for our order to come out. It was not too loud in there considering how many people could fit inside the restaurant. Everything tasted yummy. From the spiciness of the banchans to liiterally fall-off-the-bone meat in our main dish. We didn't order spicy since my kid can't eat spicy... but still. So so yummy We even toolegome leftovers!! Overall an A rating from me. Perks is that they're open 24/7!! Get them late night munchies in!

Yelp
Sun Nong Dan of the favorite spots for a group hangout for big portions and delicious food! It's one of my go-to places to show people from out of town if they're craving Korean food. My go-tos are the galbi jjim and soups. The galbi jjim is huge so be prepared for leftovers! I've tried a bunch of the soups, and they're all delicious and healthy. I love getting the bone broth soups during the cold winter months! There's a big parking lot, but parking can get really busy during Friday nights and weekends. Good luck finding parking when it's busy because the spots are so small!

Kelly C.

Yelp
The food here is sooooooo delicious! The Galbi jjim is HUGE. It comes with a lot of meat. The flavor is delicious. Comes with a bunch of sides that compliments the dish really well. The soups here are soooooo yummy. They need salt. Make sure you season yourself, that's why they have a huge bowl on salt on the tables. The servers are very attentive, not very nice but attentive. The restaurant is always busy. HAPPY GALBI JJIMMING!!

Christopher P.

Yelp
When hunger strikes in the late night hours, Sun Nong Dan's soups bring all the powers. Sulung Tang's broth, so milky and warm, A bowl of comfort, a Korean charm. Galbi Jjim's a feast fit for kings, Braised beef with rice cakes and heavenly things. Add some cheese, then watch the show, A blowtorch sizzles, and the cheese does flow. Purple rice adds a special touch, Pair it with kimchi, it's so much! The meat's fall-off-the-bone, so tender and sweet, And the side dishes? Oh, they're hard to beat! Open 24 hours, so you can swing by, Whether you're hungry at dawn or just passing by. With bowls of soup that'll warm up your soul, Sun Nong Dan's the place to make you whole!

Linda L.

Yelp
24/7 restaurant in San Gabriel?? Amazing!! This place is great, the quality is consistent and they offer a variety of kimchis like radish, chives and traditional kimchi to pair with your food. I usually get the Galbi Jjim with the cheese, a great choice to enjoy with a group and very fun when they torch the cheese on the table. I've also tried their Sul lung tang soups. It comes without the salt so you can adjust it to your preference. The table also comes with green onions and black pepper. The staff are usually busy so you normally have to grab their attention but they're really quick with giving you what you need.

Shirley J.

Yelp
Love that a Korean restaurant that tastes this good is open late and not all the way in ktown. The restaurant is really big and can hold a lot of people. But if you come during the dinner rush you may need to wait. But honestly I don't think I've ever really waited over 15 minutes even during the dinner rush. I LOVE LOVE LOVE their galbi tang. It's so flavorful without being too rich. You'll easily be full off of the soup. It's packed with beef short ribs, mushrooms, and rice noodles. It honestly feels like a warm hug or something that your mom makes for you. Definition of comfort food. 10/10 would recommend. They are also famous for their galbi jjim but the portion is massive. It easily feeds 4 so I would not order this unless you have at least 4 people in your party. Definitely add the cheese because it is not included in the listed price but as an add on. They will melt the cheese at your table with a blow torch. Definitely makes for a cool show at dinner. The meat and sauce id super flavorful and the cheese addition is absolutely perfect. Definitely try if you haven't!

Teeling L.

Yelp
My ultimate comfort food spot! If you're a fan of Korean cuisine or want to venture into new culinary territories, this is a dining experience that truly celebrates the spirit and taste of Korea. The restaurant was clean and homey. Modern design with traditional Korean accents, creating an atmosphere of warm welcome. Staff are friendly and efficient. Sun Nong Dan is ostensibly known for sul lung tang, a milky beef soup boiled for at least 12 hours to become a beautiful milk-colored white soup. The restaurant also gained notice for its Galbi Jjim, Korean short ribs stew. It's so cold outside so we want some comforting hot soup! We got the combination beef soup, Mo Deum Soo Yook. There's no seasoning in the soup, you add your own salt, black pepper and green onions that's on the table. You can use the provided dipping sauce for the meat. Some people like to punch up the broth but I didn't see the need to. The side dishes were simple and spot on, you get kimchi, radish and leeks kimchi with unlimited refills. Korean soup is popular breakfast that Koreans enjoyed. They have really good breakfast special where 4 of the soups are discounted. Always a delicious and comforting meal at Sun Nong Dam!

Yelp
Visitation Rights: Been to this location about 4 times. Credit Cards: They're accepted Restrooms: They're available for use. Location/Parking: Located in the NW corner of the plaza next to the 168 Supermarket. Parking can be found in the plaza or in neighboring streets or along Las Tunas Blvd. Ambiance/Decor: Pretty neat decor with modern furnishings. Service: Service was pretty decent. The last experience we did see a dead fly in our water jug. The staffer was apologetic and gave us another water dispenser. Food Of Choice: Most of the soups and other entree's come with banchan (Kimchi, pickled radish, pickled onions, and leek. 1) Large Koh Galbi Jjim with extra oxtail: Three types of meat (braised beef short rib, back ribs, and oxtail are present in this bad boy. For an extra $25, you get extra oxtail. Absolutely delicious. You'll definitely have meat sweats after you're done with this entree. 6 grown men will be able to finish this plate. As for the spice level, we decided on mild. I thought it was the right spice level. Also, I did like the fillers (tteokbokki and potato). Might be a bit salty, but that's where the water and barley tea dispensers come into play. 2) Do Ga Ni Tang (ox knee soup) and Sulung Tang (beef soup): I usually rotate between these two soups depending on my mood. They're equally good and it's a great a deal ($11.99) when you can patronize the shop between 6am-1030am for their breakfast special. Soups might be a bit bland, but there is salt and pepper available to use. Sun Nong Dan For Thought: Love the soups that I've tried and the Koh Galbi Jjim. Wouldn't mind coming back to order them again.

Darren L.

Yelp
A friend suggested this place, so we all went to try it. This place is a wide open space with several tables. As you eat, the establishment echos with people enjoying the social environment. We were seated immediately and served banchan. The menu is the place mat. I ordered the Won Gi Tang (23.99). Beef Ribs, Ox Knee, and Ox Tail. It was my first time having a Korean Soup Dish. The broth was not seasoned at first. But there was salt in a dish, so I used it to season my soup as well as some soy sauce. The meat could have been cooked longer as I expected for the meat to fall off the bone. It was a bit tough. Overall, a good experience.

My C.

Yelp
Sun Nong Dan is located in a plaza next to Young Don Tofu and 168 Market. The wait time really depends on when you arrive. The parking structure is spacious, but it can be tricky to find a spot since it's shared with market-goers. The food is consistently great, and our favorite is the galbi jim--it's always flavorful and hits the spot every time. We've also tried their breakfast soup special, which we really enjoyed. I always love coming here or order to take home and eat.

Teruhisa O.

Yelp
I loved this location compared the Korean town one. First of all clean and huge so between table to table, nice space for enjoying the dinner. I did many times dine in here, nothing problem at all. Always great foods and great service. Server are always working so hard. Of course they can't do always great service but it's restaurant business so I understood. 3 weeks ago and last Monday I did took out. Again great foods. I did order lately No 8, this one is best. I will stick for a while for sure take out. Both times are same guy Server. He is always nice to me. That's why I loved to take out! Nothing negative experience for this restaurant. I will be back whenever around!

Ozzy R.

Yelp
Late night. Shout out to them for being open. It was like 2am lol I had some kind of beef noodle soup and sides. It's really good when the only thing open at this time is burgers. I think I paid a little over $20. Which was fair. Again, not the best soup but it was decent. Service was cool. Very helpful people. There was a bunch of people here. Which is surprising. Very welcoming ambience. Plenty of parking and well lit. The menu has something for everyone. Stop by and give them a chance. Thanks for the good food.

Amy W.

Yelp
Went back here twice after trying for the first time. We got the plate with tendon, tripe, cheeks, oxtail and beef short ribs. The huge plate came out brimming with leek and mushrooms. There were three of us and plenty left over. The meat was so tender and fell right off the bones. The second time we got individual soup pots and it was also delish. Next time I'll try the flaming cheese galbi. The banchan was also yum, I liked the leek. Plenty of parking in a supermarket plaza. Both times the wait wasn't too long. Service was excellent and attentive. They refilled our tea, water and banchan without us asking. They helped box up our left overs. The ambiance is bright and spacious and lively.

Marilan L.

Yelp
My go to place when I'm craving a comforting bowl of hot soup. This location is in a decent size plaza so there are plenty of free parking. It's also open late into the night which is nice. On average, I've only waited at most 15 minutes to be seated. Granted, my party size is usually 2-4. There are plenty of single and large tables so Sun Nong Dan is able to accommodate large parties. Now to the food. If you're looking for a location with no frills and just good food, this is your place! They have total of 15 soup, namely made up of ox tail, beef bones, and different cuts of meats. My go to orders are usually the #s 1 (Yang Ji Sulung Tang), 2 (Chadol Sulung Tang), 12 (Tta Roh Guk Bap), and 13 (Yuk Gae Jang) with the last two being on the spicier side. Your soup orders are served with spicy kimchis (cabbage and radish), and some freshly cut onions, and you get to choose between plain white rice or purple rice. The broths are so rich in flavor that all you need to add for seasoning is a bit of salt and pepper. They also have larger, shareable dishes such as their plates of boiled cuts of meat and of course the Galbi Jjim, which includes braised beef with potatoes, onions, rice cakes and carrots. You have the option to add cheese to the dish which most people tend to do. Overall, the quality of the food, taste and service is what keeps me coming back to Sun Nong Dan!

Caitlyn M.

Yelp
10/10 experience! It must have been perfect timing when I arrived--I got seated right away, and the place was packed! Delicious food. I'd come back again!

Donna S.

Yelp
I would still highly recommend this place for galbi tang and the braised beef short ribs. Prices have soared in the last few years so that a bit of a bummer but it is what it is. The taste and quality of the food is still up there. I like to order an extra galbi tang to go and once it's cooled down, stick it in the freezer. It freezes really well and is perfect for future days when you don't feel like cooking.

Matt D.

Yelp
Hungry at night? Craving a late night dinner? Coming back from a show or rave? Are you sick? Best part about Sun Nong Dan? It's 24/7. Sun Nong Dan hits the spot no matter what time of the day it is. I'm so happy that they have locations in both San Gabriel & Rowland Heights. We just moved to Rosemead so both locations are convenient for us and they actually have PARKING compared to the disaster that Koreatown is. The workers are really nice & they work really hard even though they are tired. The restaurant itself is always busy no matter what time it is. When I'm in a group setting (4-5), I opt for the Galbi Jjim with cheese on top. It's cool because they literally melt the cheese in front of you. If I'm feeling like a solo dish/soup, the Galbi Tang is the way to go

Tracey Z.

Yelp
We were seated right away and brought delicious banchan. I loved the pickled radish! I got the Dduk guk which was a nice simple soup. Lots of flavor and well salted. No vegetarian options :(

e. s. w.

Yelp
This place is delicious! Lots of meat in each bowl! I'm pretty picky about my beef bone broth and this place does it right.

Hen A.

Yelp
large group family lunch at sun nong dan...short wait and table ready...sun nong dan is known for their variety of korean soups, large casserole type meat stews for sharing and braised short ribs also for sharing...placing an order for the galbi jjim to get that started and requesting medium spicy...$94.99 for the full size...ordering cow head soup $18.99 and mixed short rib soups $22.99 each to share...extra rice $2 each...soda can is $3....sides or banchan comes out and looking very traditional...some kimchi and soy sauce pickled dip for meats...other little sides...as expected the soups arriving first...the soh muh ri (cow head ) soup is milky white and good...some salt to season and it will warm your body...the mixed short rib soup looking quite dark and rich...deep dark red with a layer of oil shinning on top...loaded with short rib and a pile of green onions on top....the soup is quite rich and maybe little too rich...a hearty spicy soup...the braised short ribs next and goes well with the extra rice...rice cakes and plenty of short rib...tender enough, but not completely falling off the bones...the sauce is rich and delicious...perfect to mix with the rice...meat is cut up oddly and thinner probably to help braise faster...it was good meal, but a bit heavy for a lunch...

Traci K.

Yelp
First time here and did not disappoint. We both ordered #7 Galbi Tang - beef short rib soup. Came out quickly with banchan and side of rice. Soup had lots of flavor and a great serving of meat inside. Perfect for a rainy day or late night meal as they're open 24/7. Want to try the other popular option #25 Koh Galbi Jim when we return with a larger party!

Sheila W.

Yelp
First time here! Wow the soup is so good! Great place to gather with family and friends. Lots of tables and service was attentive. They are open 24/7 and their happy hour is in the morning! So you can have some hot soup $11.99 before heading out to work, or order to-go ($12.99) and eat it for lunch.

Raymond N.

Yelp
Took my family here for dinner and the place was extremely packed. I can see why it is popular and seems like a go to location for Korean food for many families. We order the Koh Galbi Jjim with additional cheese and rice cake add in. On top of that we also placed an order of the Yang Ji Sulung Tang. For the group of 6, it was a lot of food and we were all full or content. The biggest reason for the rating was the add in for the Koh Galbi Jjim the add in of the rice cake was almost non existent minus a couple pieces I didn't see many pieces. The service was as expect not the best as everyone seemed to be running around. They even ran out of dishes for the banchan so that we couldn't receive the refills until the end. The experience with the family was good but the experience of the restaurant left a lot to be desired.

Yelp
One of my favorite places to eat and it's also 24/7. It's always such a nice treat to go here and eat with friends after a late night out. They're famous for their Korean Ribs that are also layered with melted cheese. Their menu is very extensive of Korean soups and there side dishes are very fresh. If I don't go with a group of people I usually just get a spicy beef soup and or the beef rib soup. They're both really filling and have big portions of meat. Come here for your early or late night eats!

Yelp
Came here with a group of 6 friends at 1am on a Friday night. The service was quick and we were able to order all that we needed despite it being busy. We split the Galbi Jim (added rice cakes) and added a soup for the 6 of us but honestly the soup was not even needed. The Galbi Jim was super filling and we didn't even finish it - the rice cakes add a nice touch to it, would recommend.

Yelp
Been here several times and it always hits the spot! Service is solid and the food comes out hot and flavorful. Heads up though, their side dishes are way spicier than those of other Korean restaurants. The only downside is that the braised beef can sometimes be a bit tough/chewy, but it's totally worth it on the days when it's tender.

Yelp
Clean and tasty place to get full! Was here to celebrate a birthday with a group of about 12, not sure if there were reservations required but we got there around 6:30 on a Wednesday evening. I'm not usually one to be all in on just a meaty meal, but my friend insisted we had to get a large number 25 with cheese! Considering how big the group was, we got two of them and it's much more cost effective than everyone getting an individual plate. And there was not only leftovers but everyone was full! The only real knock of one star off is the location. It's in an overcrowded plaza that's just really hard to find parking so half the group was a little later.

Yelp
Delicious short ribs, a literal fire show, and open 24/7. I came with a friend group of four and the Large Galbi Jjim was just the right amount for us. The place is usually super packed so we were lucky to have come during lunch time on a rainy day. My first time having this dish was at Sun Nong Dan and I've been to lots of locations ever since. I've been to Sun Nong Dan's after long vacations and long drives; it always meets the mark and hits the spot. This one in San Gabriel was especially great or maybe it just gets better every time! The Sung Nong Dan Galbi Jjim specialty comes with braised beef short ribs, back ribs, oxtail, rice cakes, peppers, potatoes, and carrots. It arrives in a large stone cauldron with cheese on top. A team member will light it up for you for a fun fire show using a blowtorch. The giant dish is paired with a unique sauce that's soy-based with onions, garlic, and chilies give the dish an extra kick! It's warm, hearty, and best enjoyed with great company and a big tummy to fill you up. I can't praise Galbi Jjim more - I love it so much! Sun Nong Dan is definitely a staple on my list of cozy, delicious Korean food. I'd definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a hearty meal at any time of day or night.

Yelp
This is no longer Korean food. It's Chinese food with Korean names. So oily. The ingredients taste so cheap especially the rice.

Yelp
Sun Nong Dan is a fantastic location to go with your family and friends when craving late-night Korean food! I highly recommend getting the galbi jjim, which comes with an add-on of extra tteokbokki (rice cake), as well as cheese for an additional $8! The galbi jjim is massive and comes with a spectacular showing of a flaming fire torch that allows the cheese to melt and soak into the meat! This was my first time coming here and it was really exciting to see! Service-wise, the servers were very attentive and quick to assist with extra servings of rice and sides/water. I highly recommend getting the purple rice, it is super nutritious and packed with grains! The kimchi was super delicious, along with the meats! The meat is not rip off the bone, it is very chewy and packed with flavor! The ribs and meat have many layers to it that make it savory and jam-packed with flavor! Would highly recommend going with a group of friends :), this can easily feed up to 10 people! Bill-wise, it came to around $130, but that is super affordable if you're splitting with friends. They accept cash and Apple Pay and are open late at night (up to around 4-5 AM!).

Yelp
4.4 stars This restaurant has been here for a while and I'm sad to say that it was just my first time here! For anyone looking for a hot, spicy soup in the morning, this is an amazing option since it is open 24 hours. Additionally, they have breakfast specials, which I took advantage of! For $11.99, I got the Yuk Gae Jang (spicy shredded beef w/ leeks) for breakfast. It came with rice and banchan. Their banchan tasted nice and fresh. And the Yuk Gae Jang was perfectly spicy for me and the shredded meat was nice and tender. Overall, a very satisfying meal.

Yelp
Great casual spot for soup! We arrived in LA late at night so found this spot while looking for restaurants open late and were surprised to see this place packed at 11pm. We ended up ordering the #6 ox tail soup and #8 beef rib and short rib soup. Both were delicious and so comforting - I loved the ox tail soup broth and the meat was super tender. They also serve radish, chive, and cabbage kimchi for banchan. Service was fast and efficient but at one point a server was clearing a table behind me and dropped a dish, splattering kimchi on my clothes and the back of my chair. Not a big deal at all but I wish she would have acknowledged it or pointed it out. I had to switch my own chair as I didn't want to get more kimchi juice on me.

Yelp
Sooooo good for galbitang! Came here after a long day at Joshua Tree and soup was exactly what I needed. I have a go to galbitang back in the Bay Area but for the price and the portions, I'd say Sun Nong Dan is better. So much meat, chive kimchi, and they put king oyster mushrooms in there. 5 min wait at 7ish on a Saturday which is unheard of! Would go back forsure. Limited parking.

Yelp
[4.5/5 stars] - the workers are definitely working hard here! i hope they're not getting overworked because they highkey seem tired of it. judging from the time i came, it was a friday night, and chaotic, but the food was amazing. would come here again! they're open 24/7 so that's a slay. anyway, i got the koh galbi jim & it tasted exactly like the other location i went to. i would say its 100% worth it & if you're sharing with others it'll be the ideal meal because it comes with a LOT. ambiance: there's a waitlist & if they're busy, you'll have to put your name on the list. i waited for about 30-40 minutes & the worker was calling names outside & crossed name out, but she never called my name inside the restaurant (because i was sitting inside). so be aware of just checking on the list to see if they called your name. very loud though inside & could be overstimulating. the vibes WEREN'T THAT welcoming but the food was good. service: decent, they were really busy & i don't blame them cause it's overwhelming. parking: could be chaotic, but there's a lot of free parking.

Yelp
Wow!! One of the best Korean food in town. Staffs are super friendly, place is sooo clean! The foods are so good! My favorite is # 8 and #15. Love how they open 24 hours. I've been here for years. The flavor tastes the same. So consistent. This is perfect place if you're looking for comfort food as late night snack. Shout out for Alex and Victor! They're provide great customer services, friendly, and great sense of humor.
