Sun Rice Chinese Restaurant

I recently visited Sun Rice Chinese Restaurant and overall had a decent experience. The food was okay - nothing bad, just a bit average for my taste. I believe there's room for improvement, especially when it comes to seasoning; some dishes could definitely use a bit more flavor to really stand out. What I did enjoy was the atmosphere - it had a warm, family-style feel, and the staff were kind and welcoming. The service was attentive and friendly, which made the visit more pleasant.

The place is clean and nice has a bathroom that is clean compared to other places. The staff are kind and easy to talk to. The food is always cooked fresh, tasty, and hot. Menu offers a great variety of food and drink options that are good prices for the amount of food you get. The food that I would recommend getting is the orange chicken with rice and beef in hot garlic sauce with the lo mein.

Came here for a quick dinner and overall had a great experience. Food came out fresh and tasted great. We ordered special fried rice, chicken lo meine, sweet & sour chicken, and crab ragoons. Their “small” portion was enough to feed my boyfriend and I. Definitely will be returning!

Was excited because my first time to order here. Was busy and cleaner than most other Chinese in the area. My husband cut the roof inside his mouth! Was even bleeding! A metal wire was in his crab Rangoon. The food was good until that. The only response I got was that I could come in and get another order? Told him no thanks. Just wanted him to know so that no one else gets hurt.

Today September 3rd, 2024. I made a pick up order at 12:50 for just chicken noodle soup and was told to pick it up in the next 10 minutes. I arrived and paid around 12:59-1:00 pm. Once returned back to my job for my lunch break I re warm the food and taste four of the chips that came included with my meal. Then I open the soup container and inspect my food before consuming and I see something weird, it appears as a maggot! And I look closer and it 100% is one. I was extremely upset and brought it back immediately . I arrived back to the establishment to ask for a refund and tell them what happened. They gave me my refund in cash all though I paid by card. They didn’t apologize to me for how they could’ve harmed my body if I didn’t realized and consumed this contaminated meal. They quickly put the food back in the bag and put it to the side as if it was nothing. This place needs to be investigated because I’m sure that soup contained more maggots if I throughly looked through it. DONT EAT HERE!

Just ordered takeout for the first time from here today and it was delicious! The service was also great, I ordered online and they even called to let me know when the order was ready. I recently moved to Florida and this is the best Chinese restaurant that I've tried in the area so far!

I’ve been picking up wonderful lunches for myself for a long time from this sweet little restaurant. Not as often since I’ve moved from the area but yesterday decided to stop by and super happy I did. The great location (get past the temporary construction nearby on Powerline), the decor (huge fish tanks with the cutest fish), plus the smiling faces that greet you and the awesome food (bourbon chicken & rice & donuts yay) are just some of the great things I love about this place. ❤️ Sun Rice

So, as I'm recently new to the area in Pompano, tonight was the first time I searched for a local New York style Chinese, and I think I found my go-to already!! I did delivery and it was right near closing but there was no problem and the food arrived hot and delicious. I got the small sesame chicken, small order of the eggplant, and a large hot and sour soup. I got a free order of the crab rangoons... the only thing that I wasn't really happy about, but since they were free, I'm not complaining, but the crab rangoons just tasted like your normal frozen style.

Had the Fried chicken wings the flavors on these wings are top tier. Cook on them is a little over so although crispy juicy and well seasoned they aren't as golden brown as i would like them however they are very good in taste This IS WHAT YOU WANT

Always my go to chinese spot!! They have great specials in-store and the food is always fresh. You can opt for a cozy dine in vibe or they also delivery and pickup! There has honestly never been anything i ordered that i didn't like!! And i have ordered about 80% of the menu lol

This spot has amazing rice and food! Fresh, delicious & not too greasy. It reminds me of some of the best chinese food in NY.

After moving from Chicago to South Florida it was a while before we found some good Chinese restaurants. Some of them were better than others. Some of them were terrible. But we were very happy when we came across Sun Rice Chinese Restaurant. The style is very similar to which we used to order up north. Sun Rice Chinese Restaurant's food is very fresh!!! Me and my family order from here a lot we even dined inside a few times. Not only is the food. Awesome but the people are very nice as well. And fair prices.

The food is good, the people are friendly and their location is clean. I always order take out and the food is always ready promptly and my order is accurate. Great job everyone!!

The food is so good ! It's not your average Chinese restaurant. Usually the food is so breaded and fake and usually try to give you nothing for top dollar. On the other hand SUNRICE is not like that. The dinner for two is so good and lots of food! Service is quick, people are nice, it's great ! My new favorite spot!

So, I think I found a Chinese place near enough to Pompano that I like. I'm pretty picky and have been avoiding Chinese here in SoFla for a long time. The takeout containers were the perfect kind to the food warm. The dumplings Pan fried were fluffy and the filling not dense at all. Have no idea if they make their own but they were delicious. Hot n Sour soup was just how we like it. Tangy, spicy, chock full of veg. Kung Pao clearly was wok cooked or Pan sauted. I could tell the peanuts had a slight char. And the chicken was perfectly velvetized. Beef and Broccoli lots of beef. And we love we can get different sizes. Lg and small, which makes sharing not sharing easy. Yes. Quick Chinese togo at a great price and en route home from work.

Ordered here for the first time on NYE. I typically order Cantonese take out for New Years Eve in order to avoid the chaos of the streets and this was one of the top rated restaurants on google near me. It was absolutely delicious! We ordered fried dumplings, crab rangoons, special fried rice, honey garlic chicken, general tso's chicken and last but not least an order of the sugar doughnuts. It was delivered earlier than promised which was very nice, especially being that NYE is typically a busy night for Asian restaurants. The honey garlic chicken and special fried rice were my favorites. The special fried rice was honestly one of the best takeout fried rices I've ever had. The sugar doughnuts were also delicious, however, they were missing a dipping sauce, not sure if they forgot the sauce or they typically come without sauce but it would have been even better with a little condensed milk to dip into. Will definitely continue to order from here!

13$ not bad, so I thought!! Fast service but that's where they get you! They move the line so fast for a reason. You think chipotle is cheap with servings? I only had two pieces of beef and 8 huge broccolis!! I had to call the lady out on it. She had the nerve to say sorry and giggle like she doesn't do this to everyone everyday. The fried rice flavor is way off. Not even the duck sauce or soy sauce can fix it. The can soda was an extra 2.50 and No I did not leave a tip.

Meh. Not impressed with the food here. The lunch price is pretty expensive too. My fried rice had giant pieces of egg shells in it... like wtf?! Annoyed.

We ordered chicken wings, chow fun, and Krab Rangoon.... We literally threw it all away and didn't eat it. The Krab Rangoon was weak, it didn't have enough cream cheese and just all around tasted like only fried wonton. I ate two of them and threw the rest away. The chicken wings still had hairs on them. I took one bite of the greasy wing and put it down. My bf thought the chicken wings were just ok. The chow fun STANK. We got it home and it smelled like rotten fish. My bf took a few bites and said it tasted weird, the stench began to overpower the room. We threw everything away and now have to find something different to eat for dinner. I'm sorry Sun Rice, you need a serious revamping of your menu. #DoBetter

Once again, highly disappointed. Spend my money and don't get what I pay for. One thing for sure with Sunrice, you don't get duck sauce with your eggrolls, you don't get cashews with your cashew chicken, and you don't get sauce with your crab Rangoon. By the way, try their fried rice, tell me what you think, I've tasted the tire that was better than that shit. I've been going to this restaurant on and off for more than 20 years, there's something seriously wrong right now.

One of the best places in this area. Food always fresh and seasoned right. Glad I live nearby so they deliver in my area , huge plus. You have to try their lunch special during the week as well.

This place is the best around!! Great pickup and delivery and the food was hot and packed perfectly. Didn't like the krab rangoons much but def get 2 egg rolls

I'm just here for the week but I came here two times already. The first time was delicious... but the second time was amazing! The food comes out hot and fresh. Flavor is there. Their customer service is on point. The dining area is very clean. Super grateful to have dined in with my family. I'll be eating here one more time before I leave.

Ok-- so I was really planning on cooking, but my husband was craving Chinese food. They were open and they delivered! The food was good and the extra half star is for their free delivery, getting our order perfectly correct, and coming in a timely fashion. The portions were very large -- we have enough left overs for another lunch and dinner. And it was delivered piping hot, too. We were seeking comfort food, so we ordered shrimp lo mein, roast pork egg food yung, bbq spare ribs, and an egg roll. A pint of white rice came with it plus all the little packets of sauces and a few fortune cookies, too. The egg roll was pretty good -- there was a mix of shrimp and pork with the veggies in the filing. The bbq spareribs were a bit sweet and gloppy, but were really good. Nice and meaty on the bones. I really liked the pork egg foo yung. There were three large round eggy portions with lots of bean sprouts and onions. We shared one. On the side was a container of brown sauce to pour on or dip into. I grew up not ever having had this dish until a few years ago. Our usual Chinese food growing up wasn't Cantonese or Americanized. A girlfriend used to get this all the time in Florida and I decided to try it. It's now a "comfort" food for me. My husband had wanted the shrimp lo mein. It was good -- but a bit greasy. It had a nice amount of shrimp and a few pea pods in it, (but I prefer Singapore rice noodles with thinner pasta and a bit of curry and pizazz). Will we order from here again? You bet!

Good food, always hot, fresh. Great value on combos (entree, fried rice, egg roll and soup) when compared to same type restaurants in the area.

We went by the area and found out this Chinese Restaurant. They have a nice and clean environment. The food was excellent. We ordered the Beef Chow Fun. It was awesome and delicious. We will be back and try something else next time. If you are in the area, you must try their foods. We definitely recommending others. We are giving them 9.5 out of 10

Wow just moved to the area and have been searching for some good Chinese food. I'm so happy we tried this place! Even the guy that picked up the phone welcomed me when I told him we just moved here. Will definitely be back. Get the dinner combo!

Always a good meal and that is why it is my go-to for delivery or pick up. Szechuan Chicken is my favorite. Ask for medium spice. Yum!!!!

Though it has a rather decent dining area, Sun Rice Chinese generally appeared to me to be more focused upon Chinese takeout than table dining service. Like most Chinese restaurants in Broward, Sun Rice has an incredibly exhaustive menu with more offerings and variations on Chinese foods than I could possibly count. However like most, nothing even close to even being approximately authentic. Indeed ever dish I saw or tasted seemed to me to be a following of preparation methods started by Chef Peng Chang-kuel of New York City stylized General Tao's Chicken fame; hence all New York Chinese in style with an overabundance of thickeners and sweeteners. I had the takeout of Menu Number 918, Seafood Delight, which priced at $14.95 was a pretty good bang for the buck but overall little more than rather boring belly filler of a dish. Can you do better for Chinese? With the possible exception of Rainbow Palace on Oakland Blvd., none that I know of within Broward.

I read several positive reviews in Nextdoor and decided to try Sun Rice out tonight. My order of Beef Chow Fun was freshly made and delicious. And - the staff, led by Tony, was friendly and helpful. I highly recommend Sun Rice Chinese Restaurant!

Absolutely delicious Chinese food! I was sitting down in front of this restaurant waiting for an appointment when I kept seeing people coming in to eat or pick up take-out. I decided to try it after my meeting. So glad I did. Very flavorful and delicious food for good prices. I thoroughly enjoyed my honey chicken combo with pork fried rice, and egg roll and delicious wonton soup. The people that work here are cheerful and attentive to customers. Love their colorful menu to take home as well. Being from California, I won't be able to eat here as often as I would like. Next time I am in Fort Lauderdale I am definitely planning on stopping here for a tasty filling meal!

Ordered 2 bourbon chicken, it was dry, hard, stale. I threw it out. Chinese owner was arrogant. Told him to go eat his own food. Terrible.

I don't even want to give this place a star. Ordered through door dash and they sent only one of the chicken with broccoli that we ordered and we ordered beef lo mein and they sent a totally different entree. They would not help us at all. They just pushed it back on door dash. This was our first time ordering from here and will be our last. They aren't interested in correcting the mistakes that were made. I would not recommend them to anyone.

$7.95 tax included for 2 entrees and 3 sides. I picked honey garlic chicken, bourbon, corn, broccoli, and white rice. Reminiscent of Panda Express and conveniently located, the lunch was enough for two meals for me. The honey garlic chicken was perfectly breaded, fried, and sauced. The bourbon chicken was saucy and sweet. Could have given me a an extra broccoli floret or two but the amount of rice and corn was perfect. Quick service, small seating area, all the sauces you need. Would definitely come back for lunch if I was craving Americanized Chinese food.

WOW!!! ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! Second time eating here, good freaken job!!! Just left with take out, You guys just out did yourselves this time!! Everything was very flavorable, fresh and affordable!!! Magnolian beef, boneless spare ribs, honey garlic chicken rice soup everything great flavor down to the wonton noodles!!! Chicken could've used just a tad bit more honey garlic but that's just me, we saucy over here!!! Anyhow, you guys so far have won our business, for sure!!! Sooo, people, go eat here there great!!! Just got dinner combos the wonton soup was so good! Just like we were used to up home in New Jersey/Phila area! Egg rolls melt in your mouth also. Portion size dinner entree were hearty sized and all in all we are pleased! Our new local favorite and I'm going to spread the word!

Everybody should have a good local Italian, Latin, and Asian restaurant. I've found mine. Monday night and don't feel like cooking. Call these guys! Not fancy,not gourmet, just good quality Chinese with generous portions at reasonable prices. Sun Rice is my favorite paper container, Chinese take out place.

I immediately have a bad taste in my mouth about this place. I walked in before this lady and was standing their for service. The lady behind the counter went straight to help the lady behind me. I told her I was here first and I got an attitude. She came over to me but by that time I change my mind to eat here. I've ordered in the past and wanted to give this place another chance but will not come back here ever

I wanted to believe there was good Chinese food. At work for 3 weeks I've smelled this food when delivered and decided, screw it let me try. I ordered a few chicken wings, Orange Chicken and General Tso Chicken for dinner around 9pm. THEY DON'T USE REAL CHICKEN. We pulled the meat off the bones of the wings. I've never seen bones that look like that come from chicken. There were 2 broccoli stalks in the bowl of General Tso. There were no red chilli peppers or spice and I requested extra spice. The rice is not worth mention. The sauce was not from scratch and was thick and sweet. There was NO CHICKEN. There were balls deep fried and smothered with sauce. When you bite into these balls believed to be CHICKEN there are bits out chicken chunk mixed with a substrate or something white and spongy then surrounded by flour and cornstarch and sold as CHICKEN. We threw it all away. If you're eating here be kind to yourself and skip it.

We ordered 24 regular wings for dinner. We drove from parkland to get the food. Once we got home the wings were soggy, burned, and old. The texture of the skin was rubbery. The manager never apologized, he kept saying the size of the wings and they never serve old food. We used to order on a weekly basis when we lived close by and we had to constantly remind them to not over cook the wings.

Summary: seriously the best chinese food I've ever had. My boyfriends sister and nieces have been raving about this place forever and i finally tried them during one of my recent visits with them. We ordered for pickup which I highly recommend doing so because this place is packed nonstop (I came on a thurs & it was packed). I could tell in my breif visit that this is a well known local hot spot. The interior isn't anything special. The walls are yellow and red and the seating is just that - seating, but its a friendly and welcoming atmosphere and there its a TV. The foundation of good chinese food is there though: Its very clean, the flavors are good (not overpowering, salty, or lacking), prices are affordable, & the staff is great. Another nice touch is the gong. At the front counter lays a gong, protected by a army of bruce lee minatures - and your welcome to ring the gong if you love their food and off course I rang it!

Sometimes the ladies there don't want to give you one extra cookie fortune! Ha #Cheap But besides all of that food always delicious .

If you're looking for a quick lunch, this is the place to go. It's the typical Americanized Chinese food that you would never find in China. It always gets a bit busy during lunch time, presumably from all the Citrix employees walking over for lunch. Thankfully, the line still moves quickly. Orders usually consist of 1 carb (white rice, fried rice, fried noodles or their new cajun fried rice), 2 meats and 2 sides. The meats and sides seem to change on a daily basis, but there are usually at least 4 meats and 4 sides to choose from. I typically go for the bourbon chicken or the chicken broccoli but they also have honey chicken, a beef onion dish, General Tso's chicken etc. For the sides, you can usually get some greens, some corn, rangoons or vegetable rolls. Not the best Chinese food in the area, but not bad if you're in a rush.

Bourbon chicken is excellent, they give big portions of fried rice. I like that the combos come with soup & an egg roll. Good food. A fav spot for my boyfriend & I

I love this place! My husband and I have been ordering from here for over a year and the food is great. You get all the typical Chinese dishes and more. I like to eat healthy so I usually get a phoenix dragon, steamed with sauce on the side. Its chicken and shrimp with veggies. My husband gets chicken with veggies (more like hold the veggies) and you can order up to 2 dollars extra chicken. Best part they save your number so you don't always have to repeat your self. Tasty and efficient food service!!

This is a popular place to order from in our office. They're usually pretty quick and won't mess your order up. The food is always hot and fresh. I got orange chicken today and there's orange peels and peppers in it and it's probably the best orange chicken I've ever had. I also love their chow fun and their healthy options. I would give them 5 stars but sometimes they can be very rude, even the drivers.

I ordered a jumbo sized vegetable Lomein and you can actually count the few vegetables that was present.

The food was okay. The restaurant was clean and the customer service was good. Fair price for Chinese food.
