Where To Eat When You’re Visiting Tokyo - Tokyo - The Infatuation

"Sunday Bake Shop is a Hatagaya institution. They’re known for their English-style desserts, like jam-filled Victoria sponge cake and tender scones, and also make fresh carrot cake, brownies, and a particularly excellent coconut dream cake that’s topped with a layer of crunchy, caramelized shredded coconut. It can get crowded on the weekends with a line out the door, so try going right when they open or during an off-time in the late afternoon. If you are able to snag a seat in the small space, enjoy flipping through their collection of art and picture books in between bites of cake." - kiera wright ruiz

Truly enjoyed this cafe and the experience here. It has been on my list for a while, but every time I came by it was super crowded. This time I got right in and I’m happy I did. I got a drip coffee which was good. There was a plethora of sweets and breads to choose from, but I was drawn to the carrot cake. It’s something I’ve had occasionally in Tokyo but most are too dry. This was more of a carrot cake muffin, but they nailed the taste. I highly recommend trying it, and make sure to check this place out. The staff were great as well.

Lemon cake was great! Good texture with just right amount of lemon taste. Pretty decent coffee that goes really well with the bakes. Very friendly staff as well.

The cake and pastries are soo damn good. I just went back to get one more but hey if you are coming here might as well splurge and don’t worry about your diet. It’s quite popular and the staff is super friendly. The place got a cute charm to it and you just want to sit there eat and drink good coffee.

Their pastries are really good—it’s one of my favorite bakeshops in Tokyo. They switch up their offerings often, which keeps things interesting, but their brownies are a constant standout. Honestly, probably the best I’ve had in Japan.

A bit unfortunate that there were not much baked goods today. They only have muffin available. So we had something with cherry and cream cheese. Taste good. Had Didimo Guzman (Colombia) filter coffee. Overall coffee and muffin are just ok. Somehow coffee tasted blend after eating muffin. Am not sure why though. The place don’t seem to be welcoming neither. Will not come here again. Not worth neither price nor the taste and experience.

Don’t let the name fool you - they are open multiple days of the week! :) Which is a good thing, as this is a wonderful little bakery where you can see the magic happen. Really nice vibe to the place. There’s a lot of cakes on offer, of course. Japanese style. Plus coffee, tea and soft drinks. Not a lot of place to sit though, and it seems popular, so don’t expect to find a seat. When I visited there were a bunch of people waiting outside. They have a rather large staff, considering the size of the place, and none spoke English. Still managed to come away with a raspberry cake that was really good. Also got a muffin, and while tasty, it was a bit too greasy for me. Prices were decent. So, well worth a visit if you are in the neighborhood.

Amazing. I didn't expect much when I walked into a random bakery close to my accommodation and I certainly didn't expect to have a great coffee but this shop surprised me. First of all, amazing coffee. One of the best I've tried and I tried a lot of specialty coffee. Latte had fruity freshness and overall fragrant and soft with just enough sweetness to match the fruitiness. I tried scone with tea cream, sausage roll and lemon pound cake. All were great but Scone in particular was so good. It came with thick, almost sticky tea cream and raspberry jam. They went along very well. Jam was fresh and not sweet. Cream was thick, packed with flavor. Finally I have to mention that service is amazing too. Batista explained the characteristics of their coffee beans and even packaged their espresso beans which they normally don't sell just for me to buy. Oh and gave me discount on it too. Overall, must visit place if you are in the area.

Google
Amazing artisan bakeshop. Great coffee, delicious baked goods, and incredibly kind staff. During my stay in tokyo, I visited every morning. The items in the shop vary daily. And even tho it was a little bit crowded on some days, it was absolutely worth the wait. 10/10 =)

Yelp
The fact this place has so little reviews is so saddening, this place is amazing, the staff is incredibly kind and the pastries they have laid out are all delicious. Great prices and wonderful atmosphere. Do check when they open and close as it is usually a little confusing but nonetheless it is wonderful and definitely worth a peek if you're interested.

Yelp
everything about this place is drool worthy! the service was top notch, the ambiance was unmatched, and everything I tasted was delicious! we ended up getting pretty much one of everything: - hazelnut cake - cherry chocolate brownie - lemon pound cake - cheesecake - scone - strawberry blondie - carrot cupcake not one of these things was a miss! I am convinced that you can't go wrong ordering here. we dug into everything too quickly to get any pics haha sorry but i'll post some next time!
