"A buzzy East Village cinnamon-roll shop that sells only gooey, enriched-dough rolls—reminiscent of Cinnabon—alongside nine specialty flavors such as blueberry lemon curd and raspberry honey labneh. The owners make many toppings and core ingredients from scratch and have funneled savings from a narrowed menu into sourcing top-quality components; despite higher-than-expected startup costs, the focused concept has helped the shop stand out in a crowded neighborhood, though its niche appeal may not suit everyone." - Liz Provencher
"In the East Village, Sunday Morning is like the Baked By Melissa of cinnamon rolls. Not in terms of their size—the offerings from this bakery are standard verging on large—but in the way that the roll is mostly a canvas for other flavors, like strawberry earl grey and blueberry lemon curd. But at their core, Sunday Morning's standard roll is a gooey, classic expression, and we like that you can get it glazed or frosted with cream cheese icing." - willa moore, molly fitzpatrick, bryan kim, will hartman
"Despite the name Sunday Morning, any day of the week is a cinnamon roll day. Sunday Morning sticks with a single-item focus, giving creative interpretations to the mall food court favorite treat. Flavors range from caramel pecan to guava cheese and more." - Emma Orlow
"A cinnamon-roll specialist in the East Village, Sunday Morning sells a variety of rolls every day. Flavors include everything from chocolate babka to ube and blueberry lemon curd, and there's some comfortable-looking seating in the space with big windows." - will hartman, bryan kim
"Sunday Morning, a cinnamon roll-specific bakery in the East Village, is a big step up from Cinnabon for sure. We especially like that they’ve got more options than just classic glazed or frosted, like a version with stewed strawberries and earl grey cream that tastes exactly like the tea. Still, they’re not our favorite bakery cinnamon rolls either: a little too gooey and messy to bring to a morning meeting, and too underbaked in the center. But the shop is a pleasant enough place to sit, and their rolls will do the trick if you’re just craving a nostalgic treat with a cup of coffee in the neighborhood. photo credit: Will Hartman photo credit: Will Hartman" - Will Hartman
