The Best Restaurants In Harringay

"Aesthetically there is nothing sunny or beach-like about the intersection next to Turnpike Lane station. It is, categorically, grey. But Sunny Beach Restaurant is another story. The greens and reds of plates of shopska salad light up almost every table. Cucumber, pepper, tomato, and a mountain of grated white cheese. Nothing about this Bulgarian restaurant is particularly smooth but there’s a Fawlty-ish charm to it and the food—big meat platters, hand cut chips, stews, and sour cream sauces—is hearty stuff that’s great-value." - jake missing

Sunny Beach Bulgarian Restaurant Review - Harringay - London - The Infatuation

"Aesthetically there is nothing sunny or beach-like about the intersection next to Turnpike Lane station. It is, categorically, grey. But Sunny Beach Bulgarian Restaurant is another story. The greens and reds of plates of shopska salad light up almost every table. Cucumber, pepper, tomato, and a mountain of grated white cheese. Nothing about this restaurant is particularly smooth but there’s a Fawlty-ish charm to it. You can sit and smoke on the terrace that's more indoor than outdoor, while inside murals of Bulgaria's famous beach line the wall. The food—big meat platters, hand cut chips, stews, and sour cream sauces—is hearty stuff that’s very good value." - Jake Missing

Amazing food. I have been many times in this place, always fresh food, delicious food, always good vibes. The only thing that I don't like and slightly can complain is waiting times for your order. You have to wait a little bit more than usual. But quality and taste of the food is amazing.

Lovely tasty food and a great atmosphere. This was our first time eating Bulgarian food and we were not disappointed. The staff are friendly and attentive. We were given 2 tasty complimentary desserts before we left which we were so grateful for. We will be back very soon.

5 out of 5! I went there to celebrate my birthday, the staff were friendly, the place is clean, portions big (tbh huge) and nice music to finish the lovely atmosphere! The food was really delicious, everything we tried was fresh and tasty! In the end, the staff adds nice touch by wishing me happy birthday. I had an amazing time and am definitely looking forward to visiting again in the near future!

Good food, helpful staff but the people smoking at yhe outside eating areas meant smoke gets into the restaurants. We had merkitsi which is deep fried bread and the yogurt salad and katakana platter which was delicious and very prettily arranged (like an ice cream sundae- see picture)

We are regular customers in here and happy with food taste and atmosphere. But the staff usually is not polite and most of the time rude and arrogant ( typical Bulgarian style service) We have ordered simple grill food today which suppose to be ready for 10 minutes, but we have to wait an hour despite the restaurant is not busy. Even if they forget they must admitted and apologies at least.

Yelp
Back-to-basics Bulgarian restaurant, catering to mainly Bulgarians. £20 will get you more food than a normal human can feasibly consume. Salads all good, grilled meats are very good. The ( home made) garlic breads are brilliant. The bare-bones wine list is at about the £20/bottle mark. Homemade rakia is only £3.50 for 50cl, a bit more for an established brand. You're best off coming with a Bulgarian friend, as you'll struggle to get a seat otherwise on a Saturday . You'd also better like loud ( traditional Bulgarian) music.
