Sunny Slice Co. - Review - Miami - The Infatuation

"Sunny Slice Co.’s pies are as American as Miami. In other words, they’re in the same country but doing their own thing. The homestyle operation is run by a local baker on the outskirts of Downtown who happens to make incredible mango pies. These pies have all the familiar textures and flavors you’d expect: warm spices, a jammy fruit center, and a golden latticed crust, but with mango for a tropical touch. Sunny Slice only uses fresh mangoes and bakes every day until the last one is picked from Miami’s trees and the season is over. Whole pies here are $40 or $8 for a thick slice filled with velvety chunks of fruit. Place your order by sending Sunny Slice a direct message to their Instagram—you’ll get pickup instructions then." - Virginia Otazo

Phenomenal coffee shop in Miami Beach surrounded by local people. Plenty of parking in front of the restaurant and free. The service was wonderful and all the staff was very friendly. I had a berry juice, cappuccino, egg white with a fresh salad and a croissant. Everything was absolutely delicious. The only thing that I wasn’t too pleased was with the croissant, because wasn’t crunchy and it didn’t have those homemade layers. This is a suggestion to the restaurant that maybe they should improve. The most important, they are Furry friendly! Highly recommended! I’ll come back!

Google
Sunny Side Cafe is such a hidden gem in Miami Beach! I stumbled upon this cozy little spot while looking for a place to grab breakfast, and I’m so glad I did. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere feels warm, inviting, and just really charming — it’s the perfect spot to start your day. The food was absolutely delicious and really stood out compared to the typical options you find at more traditional breakfast places. Every dish we tried felt thoughtfully crafted, full of fresh ingredients and bold flavors that made the whole experience feel special. It wasn’t just your basic eggs and toast — the menu had a creative twist that made every bite exciting and memorable. It was honestly a full explosion of flavors that you don’t always get with breakfast food. The service was also great; the staff was friendly and made us feel right at home, which added even more to the overall experience. You can tell that they take pride in what they do, both in the kitchen and in how they treat their customers. If you’re looking for something different, delicious, and a little off the beaten path in Miami Beach, I highly recommend checking out Sunny Side Cafe. I’m already looking forward to going back and trying more from their menu!

The quality of their espresso and cappuccino was exceptional. I highly recommend the truffle omelette, absolutely delicious! The customer service was amazing; the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The interior and atmosphere was great. A fantastic experience all around!

Google
Overall good experience to get lunch around the area and is quite affordable. The Eggs Benedict with smoked salmon was quite good and the poached eggs were cooked perfectly. The touch of sundried tomatoes to the fritata omlette was a nice move and the coffees were great as well. Pricing seemed quite cheap compared to most coffee shops within the area and you get decent food quantity with whatever you order. Would recommend trying this place our during your stay in South Beach Area!

Google
Looked for a brunch restaurant that would be something memorable, quaint and tasty. The menu had a good variety and unique options. Service was good. A few misses but it was busy. One person ordered eggs Benedict with extra hollandaise but there was none on the eggs and only a little side cup. Key lime pancakes were underwhelming to taste, a bit dry but the presentation was beautiful. Tables were very close together, which you probably can’t do much about, your space is your space. Food was good but we’d just rate it an ok for the ticket price. It was $170.00 for four people. We each ordered brunch. The total bill is on us. We should have double checked the prices before we just added the drinks. Unfortunately, the $170.00 ticket really clouded our overall review. It was not a brunch worth that much.

Absolutely beautiful spot! The food is delicious, the presentation is on point, and the whole place has such a great vibe. Highly recommend!

📍 Location & Atmosphere Sunny Side Café & Eatery is a simple, laid-back spot in Miami Beach, great for a casual breakfast or brunch. The atmosphere is relaxed, making it an easy choice if you’re looking for something unfussy. 🍽️ Food & Drinks I had the breakfast sandwich, which was pretty good. The croissant had the right amount of flakiness, and the toppings—hashbrowns, avocado, and egg—were plentiful. However, the flavors were a bit plain, so adding some ketchup helped enhance it. My friend ordered the Nutella pancake, which looked absolutely beautiful and delicious. On the other hand, the bacon was overcooked and super crispy, which wasn’t ideal. 👨‍🍳 Service & Hospitality Service was adequate but could have been more attentive. It took a while for the staff to get around, and there were some small misses, like forgetting condiments. Even getting the bill was a bit of a wait. That said, the staff was friendly, which made the experience more pleasant. 💡 Unique Selling Point A simple café with solid breakfast options and an especially great presentation on the Nutella pancake. While the service could be more efficient, it’s still a nice, low-key spot for a quick meal in Miami Beach.

Google
I've eaten here before. The food is always good. The pancakes come al a carte, which is kind of a bummer considering the price. The Benedicts are pretty basic. But all of the food is delicious. Just a bit overpriced.

Yelp
I have spoken to multiple people about how unfortunately most of our dining experiences throughout our stay were less than stellar, until we popped in for a quick breakfast as we were leaving town. WOW WOW! Best "quick stop" ever. I definitely went glutton mode and had the cheese cake French toast, and it was one of the top 3 breakfasts I've ever had. My wife was obsessed with her chicken and waffles. Also, I took pics of our plates. I don't do that, ever! It was almost too pretty to eat. The service was right on, and the atmosphere was so comfortable and chill. Lastly, the coffee was A+. I left Miami from there, and I left a very happy man thanks to our "quick stop" at Sunny Side cafe. 5 10 out of 10 A+

Yelp
Sunny Side had lovely service and such nice outdoor seating! There's umbrellas, flowers, and both and inside and outside of the restaurant are really pleasant. I ordered an omelet and an iced coffee - both were good, but nothing too special. I would go again but it wouldn't be my go to.

Yelp
I came here for brunch and I was the only customer at the restaurant. I ordered eggs and it came with a side of hash browns and bacon. The food was good and as I expected. Service was so-so. The staff here looked a little mad that I was the only one here.

Yelp
Soooo yummy I loved it, service was fast and the whole vibe was so cute. Visiting Miami perfect spot for brunch or breakfast

Yelp
Wow! There does not get a better breakfast. The location is tiny so it's a bit overwhelming should you go at a busy time. Very old school coffee shop vibe. The food and menu make up for the size of the restaurant. Do yourself a favor and get a pastry as well. 100% a location I will be back at. Top notch breakfast and coffee shop.

Yelp
Beautiful breakfast plates here! The food is scrumptious as well. Stopped by here for a quick brunch before our flights. Quaint little cafe in a quiet neighborhood in South beach, less than 15mins walk from Ocean Blvd. Servers are friendly. Nice that's it's in a calm neighborhood away from the busyness of the beach vibe. Perfect for our Airbnb, they have a parking lot area.

Yelp
Such a cutie little breakfast spot! Staff here is friendly, limited indoor seating but plenty of outdoor seating, atmosphere is great. We ordered the "2 eggs your way" we picked scrambled. Plate came with bacon, toast, and potato's. Overall, the food is really just okay. Nothing to call home about, but reliable!

Yelp
We found a new breakfast and brunch place on Monday that we are crazy about! It is in South Beach off the main path at 4th and Jefferson. The location makes it easy to get to, and there is available parking at Sunnyside as well as on the street. The vibe at Sunnyside has good energy, and immediately, we were feeling good! We requested seating outdoors and were able to pick a spot that we liked with lots of greenery! The white outdoor tables and chairs added to the charm of the place! Our server was Monica with the beautiful smile! She represented the ambiance of Sunnyside. My daughter ordered the eggs Benedict with breakfast potatoes and a Mocha Cappuccino. I ordered the Avocado Toast with smoked salmon and a Mocha Cappuccino. Both orders were perfectly cooked and delicious! We noticed another couple had ordered the French Cinnamon Roll and were raving about it. We decided to order it also and split it. Great decision! Monica did the presentation of pouring the hot creamy icing over the cinnamon roll for us. Simply amazing!! Thank you, Monica! Our visit was so much fun and so relaxing! The food was excellent and so was the service! We will definitely be returning soon.

Yelp
After finishing the Halloween freaky 4 miler we needed a place to eat. This wasn't too far and had some pretty good reviews on yelp. We started with a Bellinis. I don't know if the juice was old or the champagne was old but these were probably the worst Bellinis I've ever had. My boyfriend had a cappuccino and my son had a cortadito. Which I'm seeing now they charged us for a macchiato. They both enjoyed their drink drinks. To eat I had a prosciutto Crudo eggs Benedict, which was delicious My daughter-in-law had a breakfast sandwich which she enjoyed My son had a Florentine eggs Benedict, which he enjoyed My boyfriend had a ham and cheese omelette, which he enjoyed And he also got a dulce de leche pancakes, which were delicious and packed with yummy fresh food. Despite the horrible Bellinis, the food was really good. so on that note, I would recommend this place. It is a little pricey. We paid 156 for four people and gratuity was included.

Yelp
Food was very good and our server was so nice and accommodating. We sat outside which was a perfect, quiet spot.

Yelp
Visited Sunny Side Cafe based on other Yelp reviews and although it wasn't bad it's not somewhere I would frequent for full meals or a Bloody Mary, the service was great and perhaps they would be a good place to visit for coffee and croissants but if you are looking for a nice sit down brunch this would not be my first choice, as seating is very limited. The food we did have was as good and well made just wasn't knock your socks good as for the Bloody Mary I wouldn't bother definitely not their forté, stick to the coffee and perhaps juices! All in all would visit them again based on the service we received and would likely try the croissants, pancakes or French toast as this may be their niche.

Yelp
Breakfast was amazing 10/10. Everything was so fresh. Little off beaten path but amazing. Service was excellent and so nice. Only a couple tables inside but plenty of outdoor seating. We sat inside it was Hot that day. Will revisit on next trip!

Yelp
I love this place, great spot to bring friends for brunch when they're visiting. The food is delicious, I love the truffle omelet, my husband loves the açaí bowl. I've been coming since they opened, so almost had everything and nothing has disappointed me. Give it a shot, you won't be disappointed. Even the customer service is good, which is shocking on the beach!
google avatar

Tiffany S.

Yelp
Presentation across the board was really well done and beautiful. I enjoyed the açaí bowl but wish they blended the peanut butter instead of adding dollops. I don't think anyone wants to eat gobs of peanut butter. My partner enjoyed the eggs Benedict, but thought the focaccia it was on was too hard, and the potatoes and egg were the main highlights of this dish. Key lime pancakes just tasted sweet. Not much of a key lime flavor, and the pancakes came out crumbly- not fluffy. Wouldn't order this again. Overall, it's good for a cute brunch and a bowl of açaí.

Yelp
Trendy spot for a casual weekend brunch after a night out. Easy to drive up, located adjacent to a parking lot. Outdoor seating available, hopefully you can grab a spot with an umbrella or in some kind of shade to get out of the heat. Service is welcoming and quick. We were seated right in front of the social media wall with artificial greenery and neon script light. Wanted to keep our meal light so we started with a coffee and green juice - both solid pick-me-ups while nursing a self-imposed lack of sleep. Our brunch entrees were a cheese omelet, served with toast, and the Florentine eggs benedict. The omelet was a very well-executed light and delicate french omelet. The poached eggs, hollandaise and avocado were a great combination. We were in an out in less than 70 minutes and ready to hit the beach with a new outlook on the day.

Yelp
I've been here twice-- two years apart-- and both times have been great. I got the Key Like pancakes, which were super delicious (though I wish there was more sauce for the lower stacks). My brother loved his chilaquiles too. The service and atmosphere were great. Would definitely recommend!

Yelp
the food was great! the ambiance is super cute and great for pictures. our only complaint was one of the employees needs to work on his customer service. when greeted at the front door, Samuel asked how I was and i replied and asked him the same question. he stared at me with a raised eyebrow and asked if it was only me dining to which i replied that there was 5 of us and they were a few steps behind me. after ordering, Samuel's customer service did not improve. tons of small things built up that did not impress us in Samuel's service, i believe i give much grace to other working class people as i am one and understand not everyday you're excited to be there. however, Samuel did not appear to even try. Antonio however was excellent! he was very caring with his service and checked on us frequently. Unfortunately, when we asked Samuel for jam he brought us an opened and used one from one of the tables outside. the jars are not bigger than my pinky so it was very obvious they're not for sharing. when we asked Antonio to bring us jam he brought us new and unused jars. The only thing i hope is different the next time we come in is Samuel's customer service. thank you again Antonio!

Yelp
Food: Beautiful and tasty Service: Good Ambiance: clean and very relax ambience Overall: Pretty good overall. I wish my toast were warmer and the potatoes were slightly softer.

Yelp
Great place for breakfast or lunch! Def a small hidden gem! Everything is amazing here! Away from The tourist traps

Yelp
Go to sunnyside. Their breakfast offerings are fresh and delightful, accompanied by excellent service. The menu boasts an array of awesome options to choose from.
google avatar

Yelp
Can't believe I haven't reviewed it sooner. Sunnyside is one of my favs in the breakfast rotation. Every single dish is delectable, with favorites including the truffle omelette, Brie and blueberry hash browns and the cacio e Pepe omelette. the service is a bit slow as the place is super crowded always, but the on site PARKING LOT makes up for it. Very cute presentation and clean, small dining facilities.

Lisbeth A.

Yelp
Food was amazing, best service we had in all places we went to Florida in the five days we were there for. Plus we got to see some lizards and birds while we were eating that's was entertaining. We will come back when we come to Miami.

Yelp
I'd seen a couple of friends check in here for brunch, so I decided to look up this hidden away spot. Hidden here is defined as not on Collins, Ocean or Washington..almost like a speakeasy. Sunnyside is on Jefferson and surprisingly for SOBE, has its own parking lot. I snagged a hightop in front of their grass wall for a quick brunch as I continued my day. Like a lot of places, it has an 18% automatic gratuity. Their menu consists of creative spin on the brunch staples. I enjoyed their Prosciutto Benedict. Instead of the regular Canadian bacon, this one had a lightly salty prosciutto, which blended nicely with the pesto on fluffy focaccia. The hollandaise was appropriately runny & eggs fluffy. Mixed with the hollandaise, the potatoes were actually tasty. For dessert, I enjoyed their fruit and mojito waffle. You don't really taste the rum, as it's more like a reduction with the flambeed bananas & fresh berries. The waffle was sizeable, and like my main course, decorated with a flower. It may be that the americano coffee I ordered was strong, but I could barely taste aby bubbly on mimosa. Something to note, maybe no coffee next time!

Yelp
Wanted brunch and found this place. Walked in and was seated right away. Inside there's not much seating....Most of the seating is outside. This place is lively and everyoneare talking and having a good time. I ordered the Chicken N Waffles and a side of bacon. I was told it's Chicken Tenders....oh well I'll eat it. Waffles were kinda dry as well as the Bacon....Chicken Tenders were good. I was told the healthy food my friends bought was good. No clue what it was....all in all the food was pretty good.

Yelp
The service here is awful. My family arrived, and they tried to seat the three of us at a table for two. When we asked for another table to be connected so we could have some room to sit, the server curtly said no. That started the ball rolling on an awful experience. The food was mediocre. We had pancakes and eggs that were as good as something you can get at Dennys. We left this place wishing we'd gone somewhere else. Perhaps if the host was not so rude, I would've been more inclined to give a better review, but my first impression soured the entire experience.
google avatar

Ashley B.

Yelp
We came here for brunch on a Sunday after we checked out of The Fritz Hotel. It was a 6 minute walk from where we stayed/parked. We had the choice of egg, with toast, diced potatoes and apple wood bacon. (I was so hungry I forgot to take a photo!) My partner also got a second side of bacon. The eggs were delicious, over medium and cooked perfect. The diced potatoes were soft with the right amount of crisp and the bacon was cooked perfectly. The toast was delicious, dipped in the egg. We also had their orange juice and it was so fresh and delicious! The staff weren't overall perky but friendly and checked on us. Prices were average for a brunch place in Miami. It wasn't anything overly special but a cute place and I would visit again.
google avatar

Yelp
Super cute brunch place in south beach. They have some outdoor seating in front of the restaurant with a few umbrellas and a shaded patio area. It started pouring briefly the second time I was here and the staff helped wipe off the table and chairs. All the food is plated gorgeously - definitely very Instagram vibes. All the portions are perfectly sized, and left feeling very satisfied. Latte ($4) - pretty disappointing and very milk-heavy. My friends said it tasted like instant coffee, not espresso. Croque Madame ($16) - this was probably the best brunch item I've had in a long time. It tastes like a grilled cheese, with ham and a poached egg on top. The bread is thick and soaked with some sauce, that's super flavorful and delicious. The Gruyère cheese and ham had a smoky flavor to it that just elevated the whole dish. Service was quick and efficient Tip included automatically on the check and the bill comes around on a credit card reader.

Chantal O.

Yelp
This is the perfect spot for breakfast or lunch if you are in South Beach. They have a big parking lot and outside seating. The inside is a little smaller but most likely you would like to seat outside anyway. The decoration is pretty and gives a nice vibe. The food was great and I was really happy about the dish presentation, you can tell they put some thought on plating. They include beautiful edible flowers that make the difference. My favorites were the waffles and pancakes, both included fresh fruit and maple syrup. The matcha latte was also delicious. My friends also loved the eggs benedict and chicken waffles. Service was OK and they made sure to make it clear that the tip is already included. I would love to go back and try more dishes!

Josh

Yelp
The food was the best we've had so far during our trip and the prices were fair! Service was great and they don't try to price gouge like the places on Collins Ave do.
google avatar

Joyce C.

Yelp
Delicious and cute little brunch spot! I always like my brunch with both savory and sweet options so this was definitely a win for me. I got an eggs benedict order with the key lime pancakes on the side. Everything was absolutely delicious! Something that threw me off was that I think the design of the pancakes had changed a bit. I was expecting the pancakes to look a certain way based on the pictures but they looked nothing like what I expected when they came out. They were still delicious though! A great place to go for weekend brunch. Their outdoor seating is a lot nicer than inside, although there is not much room to sit inside regardless.
google avatar

Susan C.

Yelp
Wonderful menu with lots of vegetarian options. Food and service were outstanding. I wish I took a photo of our plates. The presentation was beautiful. Will definitely be back on my next trip.

Yelp
I'm sort of obsessed with this place for brunch. It's close to home. It's cute with outdoor seating and I love their brunch menu options. I've tried the scrambles, the croquet madame, the salad and a bunch of other things I can't remember right now and all were great. The coffee is good and the prices are reasonable. They have cute outdoor seating and service is awesome. They are quick with the food but they don't rush you out when you're done with your meal. Very solid, well-priced brunch spot on the beach.
google avatar

Devon S.

Yelp
I love a good brunch. Found this place on Yelp, of course, and decided to give it a try. It's cute and quaint with limited seating both indoors and outside. They don't take reservations so you should plan accordingly. The busy times are between about 10 am and 1 pm. We went at 1 and it was perfect timing. The staff was friendly and the food was great. I really enjoyed the chocolate ganache Belgium waffle. My friend enjoyed one of the eggs Benedict options and chia pudding, which she said was delicious. There is a parking lot as well as street parking nearby. The prices are reasonable for the beach. Definitely worth a try if you're in the area.
google avatar

Mugdha D.

Yelp
We only stopped for a quick bite and it did not disappoint. Thanks to fellow, amazing yelpers we had already decided to order the French toast. We went for classic with berries compote. It was delicious! The toast was crispy on the outermost layer and melt in the mouth soft on the inside. The compote and fresh berries added just the right amount of sweetness. It was so right! Also, the place is dog friendly!
google avatar

Steve W.

Yelp
Oh Yeah! Love the menu and the service. Get the kids the cinnamon roll! All of our dishes came right out and yummy.
google avatar

Nicole F.

Yelp
Service was great! Food was even better! The music and vibes were great! The ice latte was delicious!

Yelp
Every time we vacation in Miami Beach we visit this place. The food and staff are 5 stars. If you are in Miami Beach you must try it. Italian feel in Miami Beach.
google avatar

Stephanie M.

Yelp
I've ordered for delivery several times and decided to go in person for breakfast which did not disappoint!! The service, food quality and price point is all on point! We ordered chia pudding served in a martini coup with fruits and coconut shavings, I thought the serving was a good amount accompanied with the avocado and egg toast (only ate half), my bf got the açaí bowl with huevos rancheros and loved it! Only suggestion is to sit near a fan because it can get warm. Aside from that everyone was hospitable and the food was 10/10!
google avatar

LaKisha B.

Yelp
It's my first time visiting Miami! Hehe. Met up with some friends here to grab a quick bite to eat. This place is so cute and a vibe. I ordered the ice coffee with oat milk. Delicious. I also ordered the avocado toast which came with a poached egg (totally overlooked that part, I like my eggs fried), and a side of bacon and hash browns. All very good! I def recommend this place. They have a good variety of options to choose from on their menu. Service was on point and quick.

Chris C.

Yelp
Be careful with this place Their food is nothing special and small portions for the price they ask. Then they add an 18% fee to your bill, which according to their staff it is not their tip it is for the restaurant! So you need to leave even more for the staff tip, it is not their fault obviously it is just this is a little greedy place that offers very little for too much!
google avatar

Edwarren B.

Yelp
Cute little spot! Loved the food had a little reservation here and there but solely based off of personal preference. Enjoyed the super chilled atmosphere, fast and friendly staff too. I definitely did my research on the place before going and it was so worth it. I'd definitely go back!

Yelp
It is a nice small breakfast spot to get some good food with a nice menu and chill ambiance and service. We stopped there before we went to the football game.

Yelp
Sunnyside is a cute "instagrammable" restaurant with fairly decent food. I had the Benedict and it was good, maybe a little too bready? Otherwise tasty. The husband had the pancakes, which were not bad. The prices were high, but I wasn't upset we went.
google avatar

Yelp
Great brunch place! We got the cheesecake French toast that was wonderful and fresh and crab egg Benedict that was delicious. Nice outdoor eating options to enjoy the breeze.

Yelp
A friend recommended Sunnyside to us for breakfast so we visited this past Sunday morning. We didn't have a reservation, but we were able to sit down & be served quickly since it was steady, but not 100% full. Most of their seating is on their patio/ sidewalk in front of the restaurant, with only a couple tables inside. We thoroughly enjoyed our coffees, avocado toast & shared an açaí bowl. Everything was made fresh & brought quickly to our table. However, unfortunately we witnessed a terrible situation here while enjoying our breakfast. Three people of color arrived hoping to have breakfast there. They asked the waitress where the entrance was & if they needed a reservation. The waitress said, "yes you need a reservation & we're already fully committed for today, sorry." We were appalled & disgusted by the racism we witnessed. We felt so awkward, stunned, & sad because the waitress said it in front of nearly everyone since most people were seated on their patio near the entrance. Neither us, nor anyone we witnessed had a reservation. As other people arrived while we were dining, they were all instructed to "sit wherever they'd like."
