"Sunny Slice Co.’s pies are as American as Miami. In other words, they’re in the same country but doing their own thing. The homestyle operation is run by a local baker on the outskirts of Downtown who happens to make incredible mango pies. These pies have all the familiar textures and flavors you’d expect: warm spices, a jammy fruit center, and a golden latticed crust, but with mango for a tropical touch. Sunny Slice only uses fresh mangoes and bakes every day until the last one is picked from Miami’s trees and the season is over. Whole pies here are $40 or $8 for a thick slice filled with velvety chunks of fruit.
