Sunrise Mart Review - East Village - New York - The Infatuation
"Before H Mart came to the East Village, there was Sunrise Mart - a second-floor Japanese grocery store on Stuyvesant Street where you can get cookies from Hokkaido, uni, matcha powder, and eight different Kit Kats flavors. We love to walk here and pick up everything from wasabi sesame crackers to a couple of reheatable shumai. If you’re looking for really great Japanese ingredients, this is where you can find them." - Hannah Albertine
NYC Grocery Delivery: A Guide to Food Shopping During Coronavirus - Eater NY
"Provides a vast range of Japanese groceries including sashimi-grade fish, soy sauce, produce, ramen, candy, and cosmetics. Delivery via Mercato." - Robert Sietsema
Made the best sushi and sashimi hand rolls from the items purchased from here. Surf clam + uni (sea urchin) + salmon + negi toro + masago + rice + seaweed.

Sunrise Mart has a pretty good selection of Japanese products. I always love going in and picking up a few ingredients and seeing what's new. The store itself is pretty tiny with narrow isles, but they've made it work for how small of a store it is.
