You’d be hard-pressed to find a better biscuit in Memphis (or anywhere else for that matter). Busy! Crowded. The outside patio is cool but access is wonky. You get your food quickly, even when busy. Tight quarters. Everybody seemed happy to be there, employees and customers alike. Good prices and a fresh menu with great variety. Will definitely be back! Worth making the trip for.

We enjoyed our first visit to Sunrise Memphis! It had plenty of tasty breakfast options! We chose the Breakfast Tacos and the Philly Steak Special. The line moves quickly and the food is delicious. The people who work there are polite and friendly. A+.

I'm glad I made my way to Sunrise Memphis during my trip to Memphis. They offer amazing food and great service with laid-back, welcoming vibe. Here are some highlights: Environment Sunrise Memphis has plenty of character and local charm. The space is decorated with art, photos and memorabilia that lets you know that you're in Memphis giving it a warm and local feel. There's plenty of seating both inside and on the patio, plus a counter area for dining or drinks. I loved the decor. Service Ordering here is simple and efficient: you line up at the counter, place your order, then they give you a ticket number before finding a seat in the dining area. Once your food is ready, they bring it to your table. The staff at the counter was friendly, and the service was quick and smooth. It was a welcoming atmosphere with friendly service. Food The food was delicious and I wanted to try everything on the menu. I ordered the pancakes, eggs with cheese, grits and hash browns - all were tasty and filling. The pancakes were warm and fluffy, the grits creamy and savory and everything complimented each other well. I would love to go back and explore more. Overall I had a wonderful time at Sunrise and can't wait to return to try more off their menu. From the great space to the ease of ordering to the delicious food it's a top spot in Memphis especially for breakfast. Great first stop in Memphis - I'll be back!

Google
Absolutely delicious food!!! The Kitchen Sink, which is a diner style breakfast with bacon, sausage, grits, biscuit and eggs was absolutely delicious. I always love diner style breakfast but this has that extra flavor in it which makes it really good. The Chorizo Bowl was something that we had never had before. The mix of chorizo with grits is something great that I wish the other restaurants would also try. Plus the biscuits are to die for! Luckily, there was no crowd when we were there but I hear the place is usually crowded. Overall, a great place to get some quality good tasting food!! 💯 Highly recommended ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Google
We had a great time and delicious breakfast at Sunrise Memphis. We got there at 1pm and stood in line for a good minute which was a little annoying and their process of getting in line, ordering, finding a table and having your drinks and food brought to the table was somewhat confusing. HOWEVER the food was amazing, we enjoyed our mimosa flight and the Irish coffee was delicious! Highly recommend 👍🏼

Google
Looked like it was a place that kept busy, we arrived at a late breakfast/early lunch hour (11:30-ish), so we're able to walk in to a minimal line. The food was fantastic🌞 I had avacado toast breakfast my husband, an omelet (can't remember the name.... western-like) he got a biscuit that was sooooo DELISH, I might have gotten in line again to order one, but already had plenty of carbs for the a.m. I didn't study the menu close enough to notice the Bloody Mary options, would have enjoyed one of those😉👍 I also wondered if ppl could bring in their own coffee cups, but I don't know for sure. Definitely worth a visit if you love breakfast!! OH!! and we have GF individuals in. Our family so notice when there are options, and there were here👍

Google
This place is amazing. The staff is wonderful. The food is very good. I was traveling through Memphis, and we stopped to eat here. I accidentally left my purse behind. I was several hours away when I realized it. I called them. They had found it and already put it in their safe. They offered to mail it to me. I opted to pick it up on my way home. Nothing had been touched. It is rare to find such honesty. I will definitely be eating there again. Thank you again for saving me.

Google
Excellent food and even though they were extremely busy it did not take long at all to get in and order and the food came out quickly. Great service and friendly staff as well.

Yelp
Breakfast was good. My egg was cooked exactly as I asked. Biscuit fell apart too easily but tasty. Everything we had was good. Everyone was happy with their food. Service was good. Easy to order. Absolutely a place to eat breakfast.

Yelp
I recently visited Sunrise Memphis to grab breakfast for my team while they were working over the holiday break. When I asked them where they wanted to order from and they said Sunrise, I was thrilled! I ordered the Rooster, which is my absolute favorite biscuit sandwich. It was delicious and satisfying, just as I remembered! Sunrise offers a fantastic variety of options, including amazing bowls, oatmeal, and loaded grits. They even have scrumptious choices for those who don't eat meat, which is a great touch! Everything looked mouthwatering, and I can't wait for my next visit. If you're in the area, I highly recommend Sunrise Memphis for a delightful breakfast experience!

Yelp
Came here on the recommendation of a local we met over at Cxffeeblack. We had a party of six and they were able to get us a table quickly. The woman taking our order was super friendly. We each got something different from bowls to sandwiches and pancakes and the food was delicious! Also, very speedy service. Only meh was the coffee wasn't the very best, but it all can't be, right?

Brian V.

Yelp
The reviews were correct! Best breakfast in Memphis in a great indoor or outdoor eating area. The best biscuit I have ever had and the gravy was tasty also. The bacon was thick cut and the sausage patty was good. I do not traditionally order grits but they hit the spot with this meal. I highly recommend Sunrise Memphis.

Courtney S.

Yelp
Food was delicious. Prices were good and the portions are large. The servers are great and there's a cute patio too. I will come back!

Yelp
Solid 4.5 for food and service. We went to Sunrise after trying another restaurant nearby that didn't allow groups to sit together. Our group of 10 headed to Sunrise and it was the best choice. You order at the counter and then ask your seat. The cashier was cognizant of our group sitting together and allowed us to use the same number. A male staff member asked if we wanted to sit outside or inside and put a table together for us. I was happy to see they had vegan and vegetarian options. I ordered the Breakfast of Champions bowl and a mimosa flight. Very satisfied with food and service.

Ellie F.

Yelp
Sunrise is becoming one of my favorite brunch spots in Memphis! The service is quick; after you order and pay at the counter, you can pick up your food to go or get it delivered to your table for dine-in service. You can get anything from a light breakfast bowl, to a classic breakfast spread with biscuits, to unique breakfast tacos. They offer a variety of cocktails as well, from the classic brunch options to a few more creative ones. I like to bring out-of-town visitors here for brunch.

Yelp
Here for a quick trip by way of Nashville, heard good things about it via Reddit. We enjoyed our breakfast, were seated quickly & served promptly! The ambiance is trendy modern vibe. We split a savory breakfast platter & sweet french toast and it was perfect for two to feast! Really impressed by their cheesy grits, they are a must try!!

Mike N.

Yelp
Memphis, TN. We had just left another coffee shop that had weak lattes and a closed down kitchen. I was hungry and also needed to indulge in a decent caffeinated beverage. Being hungry usually, for me, makes everything taste better. However... My usual granola and Yougurt with berries was on the menu. Awesome! But when the dish arrived the so called granola was just a chopped up granola bar. Kind of gross in a way. The yougurt was meted out under this so called granola and the strawberries on top were ok. The blueberries were a canned blueberry pie filling. Not at all appealing. Stephanies steak and eggs were horrible. The very thin slices of so called steak were tough, grisly, and overcooked. There were salvageable portions of each of our dishes that were edible so it wasn't a total loss. So onto the lattes. No latte cups, they are served in very small cups that are meant for refilling coffee. As small as this serving was, the lattes were incredibly weak. Two weak lattes within an hour from two different places! Is this a Memphis trait?

Yelp
Sunrise Memphis was the first breakfast place we went to when visiting family and we haven't stopped talking about it months later. I dream of Sunrise Memphis. Maybe I just haven't been down south enough recently but everything was just packed with flavor! The aesthetic of the restaurant was rustic but in like a fun fresh way. Please if you're in town check them out!

Meg D.

Yelp
Hands down the best breakfast in Memphis! The line may be out the door, but it moves fast- they run a tight ship here and it's worth the wait! The food is incredible and comes out hot and fresh. My personal fav is "the Kitchen Sink" which has the perfect mix of everything you want: bacon, sausage, eggs, grits, hashbrowns, and a biscuit with homemade jam. But honestly, you can't go wrong with any item on the menu

Talisha M.

Yelp
Cute place with solidly good food. They had gluten free bread for the win. The Bi Bim bowl was fantastic for breakfast! Great pancakes. The cinnamon roll is fresh but it's not my favorite. Fast service.

Andrew C.

Yelp
So Sunrise is my personal favorite breakfast spot in town, I'll just get that bias out of the way up front. Been coming here for years and at one point, ate breakfast there 4-5 days a week. Yall the special this weekend was ABSOLUTE FIRE . I had the Pork Belly Benedict and it was perfection. The smoke on the pork belly was stupid good, I mean, I had to take a minute after the first bite to come back to reality. Their food is always on point. Some personal favorites are The Usual (bacon, egg and cheese on a biscuit), The Rooster (fried chicken and hot honey on a biscuit) [I always add a egg on The Rooster to make it a Mother Child Reunion ], and The Avocado Toast Breakfast with my eggs poached and a side of hash browns. The staff are second to none, you come once, you become friends, you come regularly and you're like family. The prices are perfectly reasonable for what you get. WARNING: This place is a staple and the line will be out the door by 830-9am, so plan for an early breakfast if you dont want to wait. If you dont, its still very much worth the wait!!! Cannot give this place a high enough rating. My vote for best breakfast spot in Memphis, no competition.

Katie S.

Yelp
I wish I liked this more but it was only just okay--especially for the price range. Sitting outside was very pleasant and service was fine, but we will probably not come back. The food was not impressive and the portions were quite small for the price range

Julie T.

Yelp
Such a large menu, we were not prepared and had to decide quickly. I had the short stack of pancakes with chocolate chips and bacon. The hubby had chicken tenders with sweet potato fries and a side of gravy. Pancakes and bacon were delicious, light and fluffy and hot to melt the chocolate chips. The chicken tenders were dry and poorly seasoned, fries were not too hot either. Gravy wasn't anything special. Next time we will try something else and a beverage from the awesome bar.

Amber A.

Yelp
Yummm!! Got a turkey sausage biscuit with some fruit and it was delightful. Definitely crowded on the weekends and the parking situation is not good. But if you can survive that, the food is worth it! Lots of space and people were nice.

Kimberly P.

Yelp
Food is GREAT! Service was excellent ~ sitting outside the weather is Perfect! Definitely come back here again

Lacey C.

Yelp
They are always busy but the service is so speedy! I was worried when I saw the line but they got us seated and fed very quickly. Plus the food and drinks are very good. I loved the Irish coffee. Everything was clean, bright and cheery.

Felecia B.

Yelp
Sunrise Memphis is easy like Sunday Mornings. You just love it all around. A perfect match for out of town guests. Early morning meetings are my gig here. They have not disappointed EVER! Kitchen Sink my FAV, but remember to tell them how you want your eggs cooked or they automatically cook them hard. Friendliest staff and consistent each and every time. Thanks Team Sunrise for always keeping my corner outside table Clean and Clear for my use!! See you shortly

TY Y.

Yelp
Don't miss THE spot for a local Memphis 5-Star breakfast! Fast casual dining, super friendly staff, quick service, tasty eats, casual ambience and seating! And no one will leave hungry after dining here! Order at the counter, select indoor seating or small patio outdoor on first come basis, and they deliver your food to your table; coffee, water or soda are self serve. We arrived by 9:15a on a wkend, just ahead of a lot of hungry customers forming a line out the door - suggest coming early. Overall 4.5+ rating for one of the best breakfast spots i've eaten YUM! Expect to pay $6-7 for biscuit sandwich or $12-14 for a hearty meal plate. Add beverage of coffee or other drinks available. If you're a homemade, fresh biscuit fan, these are SO good! Get a variety of Sammie sandwiches and most meal plates come with a biscuit. Depending your flavor preferences, today's favorite meals were the Chorizo breakfast bowl, Kitchen Sink plate, Rocky Mountain omelette, and McBetter sammie. Don't forget to add a side of Tots (plenty to share) or some crispy hash browns. Everything was flavorful, served hot from the kitchen and filling - wow! If you are near town, find Sunrise Memphis off Jefferson less than a mile out of downtown. ENJOY, this eatery is a winner!!!

Tyrone T.

Yelp
Had breakfast this morning at Sunrise Memphis this morning. It came highly recommended and I see why! When I pulled in the parking lot the was literally an arrow painted on the side of the building that ran all they way to the back of the building that said "Line starts here". Lucky for me there was not a line, but the place was packed. My wife and I have what we call the "121 rule" which means if there are no cars in the parking lot, the food is bad. I don't know where we got that from, but at any rate this place was packed yet I still got served in great time with great food! Pancakes were like heaven!

Amanda K.

Yelp
We stopped here for breakfast. There was about a 20 minute wait to get inside and order, but it was worth the wait. The bloody Mary's were delicious to start! We shared the Crab Cake Benedict special, the King Biscuit bowl and the loaded grits. I have never had grits before and they were delicious! My boyfriend liked the Crab Cake Benedict better than the biscuit bowl. I thought both were very good, but I would have been good without the ham in the bowl. All the food was very filling. I would recommend people give this place a try!

Cade H.

Yelp
It was so good we had breakfast here both days of our trip in Memphis. If you set aside and don't eat the jam and biscuit, pray for forgiveness and do better next time. Order and pay at the counter and they take care of the rest. All the dishes our group of 6 ordered each day were fantastic. Great seating is available inside and out.

Paula C.

Yelp
Sunrise Memphis 8-21-2023 Stopped here for a quick bite before heading out on our adventure. There was a line out the door but it moved quickly. This place has a cute vibe. I love all the art work on the walls which can be purchased to support local artists. Clean everywhere you look. Decor is vibrant and fun. Staff genuinely friendly and helpful. Had French toast with berries and gave my bacon away. Parking is a limited, but a short walk never hurts. Can't wait to go back!!!

Desiree D.

Yelp
Doesnt matter if you're a group of 5, or by yourself (like me), it seems like there will be a bit of a wait. But is it worth it? YES! stood outside for about 10 mins, enjoyed some free cold water, then was moved inside to another line. On a saturday around 10:30 AM, i wasnt surprised. the line outside was small, but inside takes a bit longer. primarily because people dont study the menu and stand up there confused. I on the other hand, study the menu and preplan my eating adventures. anyway, i was in line for another 15 mins. went up to the counter, ordered. grabbed a number and went to the seat. make sure to check your bill, i originally ordered the mimosa and asked for the $1 additional shot of vodka, they rang me up for this +$1 shot of vodka, but they were out of the vodka so i couldnt get it. $1 aint much, but just keep in eye on your bill because it can get hectic here and the person at the counter didnt take it off. anyway...now we move onto the good stuff... grabbed the rooster. this is a must get. 1 juicy piece of fried chicken on a house biscuit, with house made pickle and a slightly spicy sauce. priced at about $6, this hit the damn spot. loved the pickle! it needs more of the spicy honey sauce! biscuit was nice, not too dry and stayed together. If the staff are wearing shirts that say "get up 'n grit it", you better get the damn grits. i was a bit skeptical as the flop of a mess came over to me in a bowl. they were cheesy, thick, but still moist. hit the spot. food came out QUICK. server brought it over within 5 mins. bar took a bit longer. the morning mimosa with tropical juice was nice. i housed most of the meal, but needed my uber so i grabbed the rest to go. extra points for having to go boxes set up and waiting for people - i wish every place did this! would come back in a heart beat.

Susan C.

Yelp
That was the first time my husband I ate at this restaurant. I only went there cause it had high scores. It's almost like fast food you order your food at the counter and then they bring it to you. They really didn't explain the process couldn't figure out where to get the coffee when I got my French toast it was mushy When I ate into it. I found here when I told the waitress she just smiled and walked away. I'll never go back to this place again.

Greg B.

Yelp
Awesome breakfast! Great food. Nice sized portions. Nice place to meet friends for a fun breakfast.

Carla B.

Yelp
This is a DON'T MISS breakfast stop when in Memphis! The food was amazing. They have a great selection, and it comes out hot and quickly. The wait staff were super friendly. Mimosas and cocktails available and coffee concoctions too! Hands down the best place to go

Jenny L.

Yelp
We really wanted to love this place since it was rated as a top spot for breakfast, but it didn't live up to our standards. My Mc. Better was not great. It was good, but tasted like American cheese on a biscuit. The eggs needed more. The coffee was self-serve and very weak. The biscuits were light, fluffy, and delicious. So good that I went back for more. The omelet and biscuit sandwich were amazing! The atmosphere was open and festive. The staff was friendly and made sure to turn tables quickly. If there is a line, no worries. It was a great start to our day!

Michael F.

Yelp
Great place for brunch. The omelette was delicious and the homemade biscuit was mouth watering good. Will definitely be back.

Kim B.

Yelp
We've been working in Memphis for the past year and this is the one place we've visited multiple times a week. The service and food is consistently great. Parking is a doozy sometimes but I'd walk it. You enter, order, get your drink and have a seat. We've had almost everything on the menu and it's all just wonderful. Our favorite is the rooster reunion, Cristo and bacon cheeseburger. You can't go wrong with any other items on the menu though. The atmosphere is five stars compared to the establishments around there. Highly recommended

Latoya W.

Yelp
Sunrise is just what it is. A in, quick, family friendly space with hella good biscuits and a breakfast Sammie that will hit the spot. We dropped by on our way out of town. Chatted a bit about clothing and art from Africa and headed out with two scrumptious Sammie's. Don't sleep on this joint (even if you are passing through). They are close to the freeway and had us out in less than 15 min (and the restaurant was packed).

Jim L.

Yelp
We came as a group after hearing the many positive reviews about Sunrise. The line was long upon initially arriving but after joining the line it quickly shortened and we were able to order. The food came out quickly and it was evident that everything was prepared with love. Definitely coming back here.

Junior M.

Yelp
Sunrise was awesome! The menu is huge and kinda makes it hard to choose. We had a group of 5 from 11 year old to grandparents and all were happy with their meal. The woman at the counter was very patient while we all decided. I like the self serve coffee. (Who wants to wait?) It has a kitchy-cool-welcoming-hipster vibe to it. It was a great break from all the heavy BBQ available in Memphis.

Khai C.

Yelp
Great food! Fast and helpful service! Beautiful decor! Only con is the wait time. Be prepared to wait in a line if you come during the busy hours of 11 to close.

Chris A.

Yelp
This is a MUST visit place if you are coming to Memphis. I am not sure about the tricks of parking and waiting in a line, but they do a great job of moving the line along quickly. Do not be discouraged by the line, but you will wait. Chatting with others in line is also kind of fun. I first heard of this place when I got one of their cups at Central Barbecue in Nashville. (I live in Nashville). I had to look it up and was determined to try it next time I made a visit to Memphis. I am so glad I did get the opportunity to try it. Everything looked so good! Come here with an empty stomach! If I lived here, I would be a regular. The French toast looked and smelled delicious. The taco options also looked good. I wanted to try one of those odd shaped square biscuits so I got "the kitchen sink". Once you get to the front of the line, you order and pay at the register and they give you a number and cups/mugs. Drinks are self serve. You seat yourself. It was pretty packed but I was there on a Saturday. I had no choice because I was visiting from out of town. Needless to say, I was very pleased. I also love the way they hand you a coffee mug and you get your own coffee. All in all WELL WORTH the wait. And definitely a must visit place for Memphis. Make it a part of your Memphis bucket list for sure.

Ingrid H.

Yelp
This is one of the more highly recommended restaurants in Memphis. I must admit that we struggled to find plain ole good down home southern cooking. My dad is from Memphis and my mom is from the south as well, so I am used to really good southern cooking. While the food was made to order and served hot, I just wasn't impressed with the overall taste. On the upside is the positive customer service experience. From the moment we walked into the restaurant, placed our order, and sat down and waited to receive our order, we had interactions with Multiple staff. Everyone was friendly and provided great hospitality. The cheesy grits were not as creamy as I prefer, the biscuits were okay, and my husband said his pancakes were good. The sausage patties were a little dry and could use a little more seasoning.

Michaela J.

Yelp
We went over the weekend and I'll be back everytime I visit memphis! The line moved fast and we got to sit on the patio! I ordered the 3 amigos tacos, sausage and biscuits with a spicy bloody mary! Was fantastic.

Alexandra O.

Yelp
Delicious and awesome vibes! We came here for breakfast on the second day of our trip to Memphis and it was amazing! By far one of the best places we tried the whole time! The ambiance was very homie and casual but still fun and trendy. Very well-decorated space inside and a fantastic patio outside, which is where we ate. The device was great as well. It's a walk-up counter and self-serve drink station but the staff was super helpful and engaging. The food was delicious. I ordered the 3 Hermanas veggie tacos for breakfast and my husband got the chorizo bowl, which were both huge and so yummy! Our toddler loved the Yogi Bowl and ate A LOT, which doesn't happen often with a picky eater! We will return in the future.

Dave E.

Yelp
While visiting Memphis, I was looking for a breakfast place that served vegetarian options. Honestly, there were not a lot, but stumbled onto this place. It has a very cool vibe and is clearly popular. I arrived at 11am on Saturday and there was a 20-30 person line. The good news: that line moved fast. I had ordered and was seated in 20 minutes. They have a very efficient way of getting customers seated. Overall, customer service was very friendly. The food was good. Hash browns were crispy and sandwiches really tasty. I had the McBetter sandwich with veggie patty. It was good. But the deal breaker was the fried green tomato and pimento cheese sandwich. I literally said out loud: "Sweet Jesus" when I took my first bite. The South took over me! I would have eaten 2 or 3 of these. Tangy, crispy, cheesy, and a little sweet (tomato jam)! Everything here was good but this sandwich was A-freaking-Mazing!

Lina L.

Yelp
Found this place on Yelp. The very first place I've ever eaten in Memphis,TN. The parking lot was so full like everyone was trying to eat here at the same time. We ended up getting a parking spot in the lot next door. There was a line to get in, we decided to wait, but really it didn't take long anyway; they move very fast here. You have to make your order before you can sit at the table, which makes things so much easier and smoother of an experience. I got the avocado toast, scrambled eggs, tater tots, cheese grits, and fried green tomatoes with sweet some kind of salsa that it came with. I really enjoyed my breakfast. It was good! It was very clean inside the whole restaurant as well. They also serve drinks here like cocktail drinks, for those that care.

Terri C.

Yelp
Thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast at Sunrise Memphis. Portions were great and the food tasted wonderful. You walk in, order at the counter and they will bring the food to your table. Drinks and silverware pickup are self serve. Will return again! The only downside was that the parking lot was a little tight

Cliff R.

Yelp
This is now my official go to place for breakfast when I'm in Memphis! Hands down the best breakfast I've had in Memphis, ever!

Michael M.

Yelp
This place is a home run. I had the beef burrito w a side of cheesy grits. My daughter got the French toast and my wife got mcbetter. All were excellent. There was a long line when we arrive but it moved fast and the host controls the process flawlessly.

Ana M.

Yelp
The food was really good. It's priced cheap. It was a clean restaurant and the staff was very friendly. I Def recommend for breakfast.

Sam H.

Yelp
Food was good, not great. Loved the service and it was quite spacious in the dining area. No wait when we arrived. Ordered the Usual Biscuit, the Three Amigos Tacos and the Avocado Toast. The biscuit and toast were good, but pretty bland. The tacos had nice flavor, but the cheese was a little overpowering. Would come back again though.

Megan J.

Yelp
It was good. Great place to go in the morning. Looks packed but line moves fast. Self serve coffee for the most part. Hot sauces are great but not terribly spicy.

Brittany N.

Yelp
The food here was amazing and the staff were great!! Can't wait to come back they have a brunch type menus with alcohol
