The 16 Best NYC Coffee Shops With Wifi For Getting Work Done

"This is another cafe that turns into a super casual bar in the evening. Sensing a theme here? We could make a whole separate list for the work hard, play harder types among us, but for now, you should know that they have everything from lattes and sandwiches, to chaga (mushroom) coffee, natural wine, and cocktails. During the day, sit with your laptop at a table or the long counter with plenty of outlets up front. When they turn the lights purple, you know it’s time for that wine." - neha talreja, nikko duren, carina finn koeppicus, sonal shah

Where To Go With Someone When You Had A Few Drinks And Were Like “Let’s Hang Out” But You Now Regret Saying That

"When you can’t remember if you suggested drinks or coffee, and you’re too embarrassed to ask, try Sunrise/Sunset. It’s a cross between a cafe and a wine bar, and it’s the ideal spot to meet up after work, drink a glass of something (iced tea, rosé, etc.), and maybe eat a grilled cheese. If you want to split a bottle of wine, there are even a bunch of good options in the $25 to $35 range." - bryan kim

"Sausage egg and cheese from Sunrise/Sunset plus a coffee. They put it on a bun. I don’t usually have sausage, egg, and cheeses on buns, so that’s kind of nice. A lot of people are asking me about this. I go there every now and then, it’s a little far."

I got SCARED I walked in to the storefront / cafe and I did not see breakfast anywhere. I then realized it just opened lol . I love the music the vibe and the coffee ......... great biscuits and gravy and a side of sausage ...... very inexpensive and the place is perfect ... look at the school chairs ! So hipster

Hipsters are going crazy in this neighborhood! Ordered a cup of soup and a sandwich, the server stated that they were short on the soup there’s was only a bit left (at top of the lunch hour) she gave me a discount and charged me $10 bucks for what you see in the picture! Whatta rip off ! Waited 20min to be served leftover soup and a lousy sandwich that they didn’t even bother to toast the bred… by the way, it’s 86’ outside and they had the AC blowing on 79’…

The wait times for food are long (15m for a side). The portions are laughable for the prices. $5 side of potatoes when the bag of fingerlings that weighs a pound is $5. This is about 1/4 of that. Their avocado toast is also like one piece of bread and a quarter of an avocado. The coffee quality is highly dependent on the barista. Often the shots are very long or inconsistent (ranging from 13s-23+s) and very bitter. I really like two of the workers there, very personable and define the room's atmosphere. Sunrise/sunset is mainly saved by the fact there's nothing else around. Also once saw that a worker was opening right after closing which makes me upset on their behalf given the hours of the operation. Their mushroom burger is good. A lot of the food tastes good, but is poorly portioned and the quality is not standardized.

I've been in the neighborhood for awhile now, and this has been one of my go-to spots for several years. If I could leave separate reviews for the staff and for how this place was run, I would. FIVE STARS. The staff here is INCREDIBLE. Mico, Luke, Alysha, Leina, et al. are phenomenal and truly make this place feel like home. This place would not be the same without them. Lately, the recent changes to Sunrise/Sunset have made this place feel less than welcoming. As someone who works from home several days a week at Sunrise, the WiFi limits seem like a puzzling choice to make as a business, especially as a coffee shop. And now there is a recent ban on computers on the weekends? This seems erratic and like SS is shooting itself in the foot. Bushwick is a community of artists who do not work regular hours. Why would you purposefully exclude your customer base from going to your place of business? Especially when there are other local coffee shops without these limitations like La Ziza down the street, Cup of Brooklyn, and The Buren. Here's to hoping that Sunrise can return to its former glory. I would hate for the magic of SS to disappear with more seemingly unnecessary admin changes. **On a side note, Sunrise also used to have a ton of different events that were free to attend, and it feels like the events programming has also declined over the past year aside from Collage Night.

Had our engagement party here, and it was perfect. Henry (the owner) helped us organize and plan a menu for ~40 guests. Everyone had a great time - service was friendly and drinks+food were delicious. Really a special night - thanks!

Google
This is a cozy cafe, which would be perfect for getting some work done, but also a great place to grab a drink or a meal! The rustic risotto ($12) was delicious and the first time I've had risotto made with farro. The BLT ($11), mushroom mac ($9), and lox toast ($12) were also solid choices and filling enough for dinner, with reasonable prices. They also have changing daily soups. The orange wine was refreshing and light. On top of that, the servers are so sweet and attentive!

Google
Listen….in theory this is a cute ideal spot….in reality? it’s filled with trust fund hipster servers who don’t technically have to work, but love an excuse to hang out ‘at a job’ and give bad service. We waited so long for our food that I was able to go home, cook a meal, shower, then come back, sit, sip my water and get hungry again. When we got half our order, half of half our order was incorrect and had to send it back. When we finally got all the food (correctly this time) our server blessed us with silence and some eye contact. And I know he can talk because he was able to hit on every girl who walked by him. All in all I’m thinking about starting a tour group that are interested in studying and understanding the vapid entitlement of the hipster mind and making Sunrise/Sunset our main attraction. Happy waitin—I mean- dining! (?) Don’t come in hungry!

Google
Its a good spot to hang w friends. Its cozy and good atmosphere. Good coffee but the food fell short for me. I ordered the salad chicken sandwich. It was very small, the said the baguette sandwich one was a good portion. I was totally dissatisfied! Still hungry after I finished my sandwich. Also, overpriced for this small sandwich. Very disappointed!

Yelp
Had the BEST time! Delicious food that arrived just in time to eat before COLLAGE NIGHT!!! Activities and snacks!!! Friendly and social staff - bigger space than you'd think - just a really great time. Will return. All hearts all the time.

Yelp
Cool local spot by my house. They have a huge patio in the back. Good coffee, decent price ranges.

Yelp
I love this place - warm easy vibe that I've missed having - a sense of community where some people are at the bar someone having a coffee some are reading or on their laptop just hanging out with a mellow ambiance and great music to boost!

Yelp
I think Sunrises/Sunsets is a cool, neighborhood coffee shop. The vibe during the work week is great with tons of people working together and hanging out. They are part bar, part cafe -- I have only been there for the cafe portion! The bar experience may be completely different. My general issue with these split cafes is that I haven't been to one that served coffee that actually tasted good. Unfortunately, this was the same case here. I have been for their iced lattes and their hot matcha lattes. Both were incredibly underwhelming. It is not worth visiting for matcha at all. The coffee is insanely average but is as pricey as a decent cafe. I did have a really yummy cinnamon pastry here once. I have a feeling that their food/brunch options may actually be good, same with their nighttime options. It's possible I'll return and give it another shot because it's so close to me. As of now though, the coffee and matcha is a hard no from me. Side note: I LOVE when cafes and restaurants have a dedicated cork board for business cards, event advertisements, etc. That is definitely a plus here!

Yelp
UNSAFE FOR PEOPLE OF COLOR AND BLACK FOLX. If you are looking for a peaceful place to eat please go support elsewhere. This establishment allows their employees to use the facilities however they want including allowing their friends to talk loudly about their personal lives at the expense of other patron's experiences. I had an uncomfortable experience eating here twice as a person of color. The cashier accosted me today while I ordered in order to bring her personal feelings to their place of business. This cashier wears a beanie, has curly brown and dyed hair. What was meant to be a person exchange between myself and a "friend of the cashier" a few weeks ago, turned into an unprofessional encounter today. This exchange between myself and the cashier's friend happened a few weeks ago. It made me uncomfortable for several reasons. 1. This person seemed to be loitering and talking loudly on their phone about their roommate issues. 2. This person used lots of racist and ableist coded language. (Ex. "I'm not racist, thats why she can live there in the first place" "this person is obviously bipolar, I can say this as a someone who's been medicated". I wrote this person a note informing them it was rude to talk on the phone the entire time and that she was probably racist. This apparently resulted in yt tears that I'm not interested in. Back to today, The cashier tried to force me to explain what she said that was racist or ableist instead of trying to understand that it made me uncomfortable. As a person of color having to explain why something made me feel uncomfortable to a white person is not how I want to enjoy my lunch and is extremely harmful. This is highly unprofessional and it is obvious that Sunrise Sunset is okay with type of behavior and it speaks volumes that this is the type of behavior they protect. Sunrise sunset, is this how you treat customers? Do you protect racist and ableist behaviors in your restaurant? What will you do to prevent this type of harm?

Yelp
this local place has its pros n cons. I like to be positive so lets focus on the pros. They have good coffee and great wifi. Ive sat in the back area because the front was full and had full bars on wifi. They also have a full bar which is a plus in my book. I like a lil irish coffee from time to time. The food is decent. expect deli level quality. so thats it on the pros...

Yelp
I actually had an informal interview at this place. But after the interview I chowed-down. I ordered an avocado toast and orange juice...and oh my God, it was sensational. The orange juice was sweet and full of pulp and the avocados were so juicy and fresh. I would definitely recommend grabbing a quick bite here.

Emily O.

Yelp
Lovely staff ~ like $17 + tip for a grilled cheese and two strips of bacon. This was my second choice as they were out of my first choice. I order it and they are also out of the key ingredients for the grilled cheese but at that point it was already in and I paid full price. Also out of milk.

Yelp
My girlfriend and I stopped by Sunrise Sunset on Saturday for lunch. There were plenty of open seats, although a lot of the chairs were wobbly. I ordered the Sunset Burger, which was cooked well and I loved the combination of aioli and caramelized onions. The Sunrise Sandwich was tasty too, but on the thin side. We also ordered the Sunrise papas to share, but we would just get potatoes next time to save a couple bucks. Service was kind but it took a while for our food to come out, and the ambiance was super inviting. Aside from the wait for our food, we had a great brunch here and will likely be back again.

Yelp
good food but the wait for it is absolutely insane. every single time i've come here i've been made to wait 30+ minutes for simple items like a BLT or avocado toast. and it's normally when there's not many customers so i don't understand how it takes them so long to make the food.

C C.

Yelp
Super overpriced, smaller portions. It's fine but really not worth your time. Coffee is great though!
google avatar

Kelly J.

Yelp
This corner cafe is wonderful. I come here to work on my laptop and grab a quick bite. The atmosphere is perfect just for that and the food is unbelievably delicious! So far I've tried the lox toast and the blt and can't wait to try more items on their menu. If you drive, Parking is difficult, but not impossible. The service is spot on as everyone is very friendly and welcoming.

Yelp
I came on a weekend in the afternoon. The place was busy. My latte came out quickly. The food took awhile but I knew it would because that's pretty much the standard at every place in Brooklyn serving food on the weekend. (It's been that way for the 20 years I've lived in Brooklyn by the way.) Moral of the story: don't go to places on the weekend in Brooklyn starving and needing caffeine immediately. You will be setting yourself up for disappointment, no matter where you go. As far as the food goes, the offerings are good and made thoughtfully with quality ingredients. Both the Biscuits and Gravy and Kale Salad hit the spot. I appreciate that they let me work on a laptop on the weekend, too. It's that rare combo of a place: seriously good food and drinks, loungey enough for drinks with friends, spacious enough to get some work done. Spots like this are hard to find.

Love sunrise/sunset. Coffees always on point, w good food to match!! nice work space is a bonus!!

Yelp
I had such a bad experience at this place. Everyone was kind of grumpy and didn't want to be there. Perhaps the owner should take better care of their employees so that they are not dreading work. The food was undersalted. When my gf's chili came out it was missing toast and when she asked for the toast the server had a surly response about how there shouldn't be toast on the menu. We showed him the menu and eventually received burnt toast. The more we sat there the more we didn't feel welcome. We watched all the other (yt) patrons have their food served to their table, while we were made to get up and retrieve our order. This place is a bad vibe.
google avatar

Jenna H.

Yelp
I'm so disappointed at how bad my experience was there today, especially since I had such a good time there yesterday. Today I paid $16 for two orders of potatoes that didn't have anything on them. My boyfriend tried to place my order right and the guy convinced him to order it differently. When I called back to tell them both my toast and potatoes were made wrong the person told me they couldn't make the potatoes correctly because they didn't have the ingredients. If this was the case we would have never ordered in the first place. When I received my toast it still wasn't made right. In the past two days we have spent over $100 here and I'm just so mad about it. It seems that the owner doesn't come around and lend a hand. Workers are hard to find in these times and your employees need your help. Show up for your business before you lose your patrons. To top it off I was here a month back and an employee was working their last shift and couldn't stop talking about how happy they were to leave working here.
google avatar

Jeannie C.

Yelp
Came here for some breakfast while my boyfriend visit a client in the area. Had a nice cup of cold brew with oat milk sitting outside, I waited 20 minutes for my salmon toast to come until I went inside to ask the staff what happened. I was told I had to wait another 20 minutes. Such a shame, I was so hungry and I couldn't wait that long for toast with whipped cream and smoked salmon.... Not sure why it should take so long for that when there was a total of maybe 4 tables occupied.

Yelp
Wonderful service. Delicious coffee and pastries.yummmy.................................................,,,,,,,,,

Yelp
i like their chagacino and chai but they're pretty pricey (typical of your chill neighborhood cafe though). great tables for work with free wifi and outlets. my only complaint is the music is pretty loud--ok at first but after trying to concentrate on work for an hour you'll start to find it rather grating on the ears.
google avatar

Dana R.

Yelp
This place would've been the best thing to happen to me since I moved to Bushwick, had it not been for perfectly avoidable things that just make it kind of suck a little bit. First and foremost, the food here is delicious. If you can stand literally everything else about this place, then you'll probably love it. I'd come here every weekend for the food. I'd come here more if the people over the counter were nice (or at least moderately pleasant), if the food wasn't so insanely expensive (see photo below. $20 for a burger, an additional $2 for cheese on the burger....insane), and if the food came out a little faster. It's also very loud and very cramped during weekends but I'm sure it's fine during the week. Service here can be confusing if you're not familiar with NYC cafes; this is a sit-down spot, but no, they do not necessarily wait on tables. So your order will be ready at the bar and they will call you over, but sometimes plates will be brought over to you. Which is completely fine and normal. So disregard those reviews complaining solely about that. Again, food is great! I'd be a regular here. I really wanted to be. But the unfriendly staff and the overpriced menu items really just sort of ruins it.
google avatar

Caitlin D.

Yelp
Wow I must say that was the sexiest BLT I've ever had. A fine dining take on a bodega classic.
google avatar

Amy L.

Yelp
Had such a good dinner here for my mom's birthday. We had a fairly large group and we all ordered one of everything. It was all fantastic. The crowd favorites were the papas, the burger, and the kale salad. But honestly everything was great. Cocktails were a+ too.
google avatar

Duex M.

Yelp
I love buying wine here, it's convenient for where I live, albeit a bit pricy. Usually there is a good selection and quality, so I don't mind spending the money. However, the past two bottles purchased have been below subpar. I purchased a white wine for $10 about a week ago and it had gone bad, there was a distinct forward flavor of rot and aftertaste of urine. A couple of days ago I bought a red wine that, when poured, was cloudy and tasted like ethanol. Three stars because I have had 90% a good experience in the past, but there seems to be something lacking when it comes to quality control. I will continue to patronize this business, however I may cease purchasing their wines.
google avatar

Katie M.

Yelp
Pretty solid coffee shop near my boyfriend's apartment. I've been here probably a dozen times now, both for coffee and food and to work, and it's been consistent each time. Good egg sandwich, great chia pudding and pancakes, great dirty chai, mediocre chilaquiles. It gets pretty busy during the day with people camped out on their laptops, so get there a little earlier if you need to work and want a spot. Internet is good enough for most work, but I wasn't able to have a voice/video call.
google avatar

Hannah J.

Yelp
This is a hipster hot spot. If you picture Brooklyn and think coffee shop/bar/eclectic art space with a myriad of people and some good eats you have Sunrise/Sunset. Pre-covid you could find a chill space to pull out your MacBook and have a relaxing Sunday as the hangover crowd grabs brunch. I had the Brioche French toast and it was delicious! I'd go again.
google avatar

Gab G.

Yelp
Came here for some friends' casual wedding reception (!) and had a blast. I loved the green dream cocktail and the hot pretzels are ridiculously good. They also have a little backyard area for when you need some air. Really cool spot!
google avatar

Kirsten D.

Yelp
We came here often during our recent stay in Bushwick. Great menu and a lot of different kinds of seating indoor and outdoor. We tried the sunrise sandwich, biscuits and gravy, lox toast, and the French toast, all of which were tasty. Coffee is solid both hot and iced. Bar options are well chosen and the staff are friendly. The gentleman working the counter today is on point. I will definitely be back.
google avatar

Olivia O.

Yelp
Good coffee, even better atmosphere. Staff is always cool, and they have a variety of organic produce on rotation, available to buy. Their outdoor seating has been a lifesaver during summer work-from-home time. No bathroom access for customers during COVID-19, and the matcha latte is hit or miss, but it's the best place in the neighborhood to enjoy a quiet beverage.
google avatar

Roli B.

Yelp
Love love the food and drinks but their card reader is ancient and absolutely never accepts my cards(works everywhere else). Super hard to make payments in my case since I don't always carry cash(who does?), so now I'm trying to look for other coffee shops. Please would owners upgrade their payment system??!
google avatar

Michelle H.

Yelp
Really cute brunch spot in Bushwick. Relaxed place offering many drinks & brunch options. There's not much in this area so this place is a gem. Service was a little slow but its a tiny kitchen so to be expected. Staff was friendly & attentive. The coffee drinks were very good, one of the better chai lattes I've had in a while. My only complaint was that my dish (beef hash) was very over salted which if that happened in Manhattan I probably wouldn't have been as forgiving. They still get 4 stars for being a super cute place with great coffee & probably the better brunches in the immediate area.
google avatar

Oscar O.

Yelp
The mousey girl working today (4/9) just looked me up n down, scoffed and then denied me access to the bathroom (yes I was a paying customer). Next time don't be so obvious if you're going to discriminate. Btw I was wearing gaultier.
google avatar

Hadley H.

Yelp
This neighborhood gem is fast becoming my second home. I celebrated my first night living in Bushwick here, and plan to spend many more hours soaking up the atmosphere and the avocado toast. The toast that I ordered was very light and on the well-done side, but the crispness was a refreshing change from the carb overloads that you can order at other brunch establishments. Sit here with an iced coffee and get some of your best work done! The whole place has a creative, buzzy vibe, even in a Wednesday afternoon.

Mary P.

Yelp
The place gets another star because I've gone for dinner a weekday and have had a wonderful experience each time. However, I highly recommend not going on a Sunday. Multiple times my food didn't come out for 30-40 minutes (I know because I have a timer for when I need to get my laundry) while I watch bigger groups who came in after me get my food. I've had to ask each time where my food is and it seems they forgot or loose the ticket. So this place is wonderful, except for the weekends.
google avatar

Dana Z.

Yelp
Post-shutdown, this place has pivoted to being a tiny gourmet grocery store that happens to have a coffee counter that also serves a handful of hot food items. I know that a lot of small restaurants have been selling pantry items to help them get by, but this place has switched to peddling $12 pints of ice cream and $6 cans of soup. I really hope that as things become vaguely more normal they return to their original identity. As a cafe/bar the service was always pretty bad, but it was nice to have a quiet place to grab a tasty sandwich and a glass of wine after work.
google avatar

Lauren R.

Yelp
Sunrise/Sunset is a perfect spot for some of my favorites things: outdoor seating, coffee, wine, and inexpensive food. I went for lunch and tried the Chorizo grilled cheese which is absolutely amazing. It also came with a small side salad for only $8. It refreshing to have a local spot with reasonable prices. The servers were nice and the music was good as well. I would highly recommend coming here for a drink, breakfast or lunch.
google avatar

Mark B.

Yelp
Been coming here for the last year or so, primarily for brunch. Love love love their brunch menu. Bushwick is definitely lucky to have this little joint in the area. I'm a huge fan of their omelettes and their caffeine beverages. Never get tired of that combo. Great place for brunch dates!
google avatar

Pax S.

Yelp
This has become my Sunday spot to meet with friends to discuss graduate studies. The wifi is wonderful, the atmosphere is kind of dark, and the staff are polite. We did try to sneak in a cake last week and it did not work (however, the staff was beyond happy to just tell us to hide it). As of cocktails, they are all $11 and differ in size and strength. I have tried the Jolene and the Tiki Hour and several craft beers. Everything has been great but I honestly wish the prices were not so high. I will definitely try the food soon!
google avatar

Jose C.

Yelp
I think I found my coffee shop! I moved to Bedstuy not to long ago and had a friend recommend this place. I really like good food and good coffee! This place has that plus amazing selection of cocktails. Day or night you can come here and enjoy something. Staff is super friendly and food is well priced. My favorite part is that they are featuring none other than City of Saints Coffee Roasters. I no longer have to go to Union Square for a good cup of coffee from these guys! Try the Cold Brew and the Breakfast Sandwich; it is a match made in heaven! My favorite Bushwick Cafe yet!
google avatar

Braden B.

Yelp
I recommend this place to EVERYONE! This is not an alternative fact! I absolutely love the atmosphere! Located near my apartment with a chill environment to get work done or simply talk with friends. Extremely healthy food options with coffee or alcohol. I cannot name a better combo of work, coffee, friends, alcohol, food, and of course random movie nights!
google avatar

Lesley K.

Yelp
Came here for a cup of coffee and lunch. Place was cute. Service fast. I ordered their burger medium. It was delicious and juicy. Made perfect. The cold brew was on point as well. Will Def be back when I'm in the neighborhood.
google avatar

Tracy S.

Yelp
This is a small neighborhood place with great coffee, good food, friendly service, and clean. This is a find.

Luke M.

Yelp
All I can say is WOW! From the craft cocktails featuring Cynar 70 to the GAWGEENA bAristress who lives in the backyard, this place is A1. So money baby. Get booze at 9am. Order a Morning Dude so it looks like you're drinking coffee. Have a cig in the backyard at 10am. Revel home at noon after 3 drinks. Rinse and repeat from 9pm to midnight. PS... Who's that cute journalist who hangs at the bar on Sundays?
google avatar

Les W.

Yelp
Started coming here around 2017, nice place with good lattes and decent brunch plates. However, one sandwich in particular was stellar the Braised Beef Sandwich, I'd come more often but it got taken out of the menu. Bring it back!
google avatar

Malik D.

Yelp
This place is absolutely ridiculous. I moved to the area about a year ago and always passed by the place, until yesterday. My friend & I wanted to grab brunch, so I suggested checking out Sunrise/Sunset since it's down the street. When we walk in, literally no one greets us. We eventually made awkward eye contact with an employee at the bar, who then hands us a menu. After being handed the menu, we place our orders (while standing, mind you) and then we're told to take a seat. After receiving our orders, I finished my first drink and wanted another, so I asked the employee who brought food to our table if I could have a refill. She remarks, "...sure, I'll tell the bar". Then after nearly 10 minutes go by, the bar yells "drink ready", and I realize that I have to interrupt both my meal and conversation to go grab my drink from the bar. Long story short, I will never go back to this place, and I urge anyone looking for a positive brunch experience to avoid this place. As a POC, I also completely felt unwelcomed and uninvited, so I echo the voices of many others who stated such on their reviews; however, in general - the way this place operates sucks. There are many, many better options in the area folks! Also, my friend and I remained hungry after leaving here. We ordered the "French toasts", which had a cute presentation but should have been doubled. The cut-up strawberries did not make the cut.

Yelp
I've been hesitant to chill at this spot, only because the vibe was at times real..... Should I say.. BLAND AF.. But now, we got Elise now, did a spell her name right?! Anyways.. she is awesome, she actually talk to customers.. she introduced us to some cool people, wow, that's a first. Yao, I've been coming here since it opened.. i dig the coffee, some of the bartenders are aighht, and I say that with a touch of reservation. Elise will keep me coming here on my days off. Finallt, some personality, some flava, a fucking smile for crissakes!!!!! As a bartender I hate the cool asshole, non chalant dickhead/artist/whatever the fuck it is you do. Come check Elise. I'll still come by for my coffee, but I'll def come by to drink and hang w her!

Hipster Racism ruined this spot for me. Been here plenty of times with my then-girlfriend who is Chinese and White. Went there by myself for the first time and was treated pretty badly. - I came in with my dog, mind you there are always dogs at the restaurant, check the restaurant's location story on Instagram on any day and you will see a bunch of them. Right out of the gate the chef decides to tell me that there are no dogs allowed. Excuse me, he didn't tell me, he addressed a white woman who just happened to be standing next to me, even though I was clearly holding the dog's leash. When she told him we weren't together he then decided that I was worthy of his attention and told me dogs were not allowed in the restaurant. I told him I see dogs there every time I come, he said I could sit in the back, and order from there. - Head to the back, no one comes out to take my order so I go to order at the bar. There happens to be a group of black and puerto-rican dudes in the back at the same time, the bartender asks me if I want my food and drinks on their tab. I tell her no, we're not together get my order and head to the back. - On my way out, as I'm trying to close up, for some reason none of my cards are going through, I'm guessing that the manual entry system they use either wasn't working, or the card numbers weren't being entered correctly. The bartender comes back after trying to manually enter the third card and asks "well can't your friends just front you the money?" I tell her again, that we're not together, we didn't arrive together, we're not sitting together and we didn't order together, we just happen to be the only people of colour at the restaurant. Super frustrating experience, and I doubt I will be back. I would rather go where I'm celebrated than where I'm merely tolerated.

Yelp
Cute cafe spot in Bushwick! There is plenty of seating inside, as well as a little outdoor area in the back. I had their avocado toast with eggs and an iced latte. The avocado toast tasted delicious and was well seasoned, and their lattes are rich.

Yelp
Is Sunrise/Sunset a great place for brunch and coffee? Undoubtedly yes. Does it have the worst service of anywhere in Bushwick? Also, undoubtedly yes. We stop by here for coffees and/or breakfast weekly, in spite of knowing that it will take 10 minutes for a simple coffee, and the service staff will sneer at you for your lack of elaborate facial hair or tattoos. Aren't hipsters supposed to be about inclusion? I've watched many times as the primary weekend barista treats any person who doesn't look like him as trash, only to treat other folks who are wearing ironic glasses and tshirts well. @Management please fix this! Your place is great in so many ways but the staff has gotta change!!
