Customer service sucked. I felt ignored. We were not told about the Mother's Day drink menu like the party that came after us. The cajun calamari and the fried oyesters were excellent!!! The Big Easy Shrimp Plate looked beautiful! The Sunset Bang sauce yuk. The garlic butter sauce was very light on the garlic. The garlic bread was just grilled bread with no garlic taste anywhere. The asparagus was great, and the Dirty Rice, while a good texture it was salty.

If I could leave a zero start I would the manager had a whole problem after I found a hair in my cocktail and I also seen spit in my food . When I spoke to her about It she got an attitude and told me to pay and to leave. I can't believe this happen to me . PS I had my 8 month baby with me . The manager was yelling at me . I would not recommend this place to anybody until they get new staff !!! I would like for the owner to reach out to me as soon as possible.

3/10 ~ It was ok . Didn’t have much flavor I had all the seasonings in my shrimp/sausage bag not impressed . Corn , potatoes, sausage and eggs were well cooked tho !

food is alright but dont eat out of the open cap sauces because both of these tabascos had bugs and i bet all the rest do too.

After briefly searching Google for something close to downtown Dallas, we settled for Sunset Crab Shack. It was an easy drive, and there was ample parking. We walked in and were seated quickly downstairs. It seemed very small, but there was also outside seating, and we saw stairs so assumingly upstairs seating, too. Off the bat, our waitress, Blanca, seemed disinterested, like she had someplace better to be. We asked for a new paper to spread across the table since the one we met there was already dirty. It took her forever to bring that, forevermore, to get us some water with lemons and another eternity to take our order. Speaking of lemons, we had to ask for lemons 3 or 4 times. Is there a shortage of lemons? She was stingy with the lemons!! When the food finally came, the fries were cold, the snapper was too salty, and the shrimp in the boil was excessively overcooked. The flavor of the boil was good, but the portions are small. We got the second-level heat (hot), and it was mildly hot. The dirty rice was the best thing I had there. The female bathroom has 3 stalls and only 1 handwriting sink. The male bathroom has 1 stall, but it was closed from inside with nobody using it. There is also a sink in the area before the bathrooms. I can't say I'll be back. The service was subpar, and the food is just okay. There are too many other options to choose from.

Overall I give it a 3/5 because the food was okay. From what I read from other reviews…the customer service was indeed AWFUL and it’s best to pay in cash because even after you pay with no tip…they will change it. The waitress took forever to attend us on a slow day and didn’t bother to check up on us if we needed more water etc. When it came down to pay she left my sister’s card on the bar table without letting her know so we were waiting an additional 30 minutes for it. My sister had to personally go up there and ask another employee for her card & they informed her that her card was in the bar table all along…where people could of taken it or stolen her information. I honestly wanted to give the establishment the benefit of the doubt but seeing it happens twice it’s best to do “take out.” There is no free parking on the restaurant because the club is behind it so they try to charge you $40 to $60. Therefore, parking on the side streets is best or you can go all the way to the stop sign until you see a house with gated fence that has their logo on it so that area is free parking.

Get a Combo special. Starting at $18.50 with Shrimp, sausage, corn and potatoes. Everyone else's plates looked tasty too.

I went during the week in the evening. Very chill. I had the crawfish and it was good. Get the Diablo sauce and 3 seasonings (not lemon peppa & garlic). Just Cajun. It was pretty good. You got this. If not, get ya spice level up. It wasn’t just a nice flavor.

The food was great. Had shrimp cocktail, crab, shrimp, lobster, corn, and potatoes. Thoroughly enjoyed my visit.

CAREFUL!!! I accidentally ordered here thinking it was Grand Prairie. I immediately called them to cancel and they don't answer the phone! So I have to go through Grubhub after waiting a while, the location had the nerve to tell grubhub they already made it so no refund. No! I tried to call them!! Grubhub gave me my money back, thankfully. Make sure you have the right location. I'm waiting on my order in GP. The people are very nice at this one.

Oh wow! This hit every spot The Ceviche Tostada was delicious. I waited a bit for the Mix Soup but when it came out, it was steaming hot. It was so yummy and was all gone. My date ordered the Shrimp & Sausage Boil, he enjoyed his food as well. There wasn't much of a wait on a Monday Night. Weekends are much busier. You should try it out!!

Flavor is amazing. I made my own boil with snow crab, shrimp, sausage and corn. I mixed the garlic butter and cajun sauce. The shrimp and sausage had a lot of flavor and the sauce was great. The crab, it was a let down. It was so soft that when you broke it l, it didn't snap in half. It just bent. Had to really fight it to tear the shell. The meat would just shred instantly. It seemed really overcooked. The service is slow but they are really nice. Might just take some time to get their attention.

Such a fun spot! We came on Sunday and service was amazing! Our server was the sweetest, she took really good care of us even though she was busy! Thank you so much for a great experience! All of our food and drinks were PERFECT!! From the Oysters, the ceviche and shrimp cocktail were great! Loved the outdoor seating and all the friendliness! I will definitely be back :)

The service a ten out of ten the food is to die for and all imma say is if u need a place to get ur boils at THIS IS THE PLACE just mind that in weekends it gets PACKED but im telling yall the food here and the Cajun fries areee so good yall should definitely go here 10/10

Very disappointing. I've eaten here, one other time, and couldn't remember why I never returned, then I ordered take out, and I remembered. I had the fried catfish & shrimp basket, and it was probably the worst combination I've had since the first time i came here. Everything was over seasoned, but that because the fish had a metal taste to it. The shrimp had no flavor, and the texture was that of fish (overcooked). The fries were the best part of the basket, and that's not saying a lot. If you're going to do Cajun, then do it right, or don't do it at all. The staff was very pleasant.

This place was the closest to our AirBnb, but we should have eaten fast food. The food was not good. Salmon overcooked, crabcakes burnt and unseasoned, shrimp was tough. Even the rice was bland with no taste. I do not recommend this place for seafood dinner. However, maybe boiled seafood is better.

Love sunset! The service is really slow & you can expect for your server to not be back. We've been twice since I've been in Dallas and it's happened every time. However, the food is absolutely delicious. As for the ambiance, it's very laid back. Dress in clothes you don't care about you will get messy. The AC doesn't really work well, but it's a fun place to go with family and friends.

Pay cash or don't go! My first visit this year, all in my party had their tip INCREASED. I caught it when verifying my credit card purchases. I spoke to the management twice about the first occurrence. I went another time a couple of weeks later. My Second visit all three of us had tip increased. The same person, Saldivar ran all the credit card transaction. BEWARE! Food is good but not trustworthy.

Alright, I recently visited this restaurant and tried their build your own boil, and I must say it was really good. The variety of sauces available for the boil was impressive. However, I was a bit disappointed with the service. My advice to future diners would be to make sure you tell your waiter everything you need from the get go! Once they're gone, good luck getting them back! So, take it easy with that drink, sip it slow, and if you need extra butter, lemons, or anything else, you better ask for that upfront. Now, onto the outdoor covered patio situation. The AC out there just ain't cutting it, my friends. So, if you decide to spice things up with your food, be ready to sweat it out on the patio. It's like a sauna! All in all, the build your own boil is definitely it.

Went with my daughter as it was my last night in town. I'm an Oak Cliff guy (Justin F. Kimball) and like supporting local businesses. It was crowded, but we got seated fairly quickly. I had a vodka martini which was good. We got a boil bag to split. Shrimp, King Crab Legs, mussels and crawfish. The bag came...nice presentation but it was warm not hot. Everything was good not great. The bag was off and for a place going for a Cajun feel, it did not have that feel. From the music to atmosphere. On a scale of 1-10. Sunset Crab Shack gets a 6.

Food was cold when it finally arrived. It took almost 40 minutes after ordering. The ambiance is decent, lively and tv's in almost every corner. I wouldn't recommend coming during the busy weekend, but im sure this could work as a weekday lunch spot. We had no refills while we sat the entire time, and the waitress never came by after delivering the food.

To start off, we ordered a pound of shrimp and only got 8 pieces of shrimp. THEN the sauce was super super thick. The crab legs had NO meat. Worst seafood boil i've ever experienced. Service was amazing, she truly did her best but the food was terrible.

On one of their busy nights, Sunday, I went to the restroom & was attacked by an unknown female. She lunged after me & chocked me for no reason. I felt my life was In danger. Upon sharing this with security & the brother of the business owner, the female that attacked me was allowed to stay at the restaurant. In addition, the owner failed to respond to my report of the attack or make amends. This place is not safe for the public. .

I would give this place no stars if possible it smells like sewage. The waitress we had wasn't attentive, we never got refills on our drinks and she spilled my plate on my clothes . The worst customer service I have ever experienced. The shrimp basket is what was ordered .

Very good food! After reading some of the other reviews, I was concerned about service however our waitress was very friendly and attentive. The food was super fresh and well seasoned.

Came in for lunch this time... atmosphere was great service is good food delicious.i got the shrimp and sausage Cajun flavored abd the Mr had himself a catfish basket.

Ok we are new to the area and ordered the posole and gumbo. I arrived at 12:30 and there was nobody in the parking lot or in the restaurant. I was worried. I thought they are closed or the food is awful. I was greeted by two lovely young ladies who kindly asked me to wait a few mins until my order was ready. I got my order and headed home. Gave the posole to my daughter and I started on my gumbo. Wow! Finally a gumbo I can eat!!!! It was not spicy at all, which is perfect for me!!!! Perfect amount of chicken sausage and shrimp. Loved it! My daughter and I will be back to try the crab legs.

So we came from getting Go our first Covid shot at Methodist there was literally no one in Sunset Crab, the "waiter" said sit anywhere. We didn't because it was really cold and we wanted to see if they has some place warmer. Literally we were treated as if we were invisible. After 15 mins we left. I hadn't physically been there since now 2019 but ordered a few times and picked it up. The service was never like this. I guess now they have people there that don't care.

My food was horrible it was over boiled no seasoning. My sauce was not spicy and my food was cold . I tried to call to see what my options was no one answered and then I called the next day they didn't want to do anything about my order

I usually go to Krio; however, I was told that this place is amazing. And now here we are with this review. I ordered 2lbs crab and 1lb of shrimp (two of us were eating). The total bill was 102 and some change (which is much cheaper than most places since the pandemic has caused crazy inflation). Anyway, I live about 4 miles from the location and I drove straight home. When I bit into the shrimp - it literally oozed! Yes...like a pimple on a preteens forehead...is spat out the "shrimp" and tried another. Same thing. I then grappled a random piece of shrimp and squeezed it. Yup - I'm sure the the shrimp has covid 19 because they were DISGUSTING. I then went to try the crab. It was gritty. Very gritty. The sauce we chose was the one with all of the flavors combined - didn't taste very good. Moral of the story - you get what you pay for I'm sorry Krio - I will not leave you again. Sunset crab was straight DOO DOO

I'll let my attached photo set the tone for this place.. we were literally among the first two people to walk in the door upon them opening and the server has the NERVE to set this in front of me... DIRTY, STICKY ASS MENU... WTF?!?!?! YOUR DOORS JUST OPENED & YOU HAND ME THIS!? Do you guys clean anything???? Can't clean a simple menu so what else are you all too lazy to clean!? Tf?!! With covid being a thing as well, this is VERY alarming.

This place will past mustard but won't be on a list of places I would seek to go to again. Their crawfish was ok but super heavy feeling. The oysters did not seem the freshest and the fried calamari was chewy. There isn't a ton of good seafood places in this area and this is just another one of those.

Good food, especially when crawfish is in season! Cucumber shots are great! The staff is always very attentive, patient and kind!

So my beau and I decided we wanted to do Cajun book for New Years Eve. So I called around 1pm to check their hours due to NYE. The young lady who answered the phone tells me they close at 4. Ok no problem. We pull up at 3pm and enter the building. It's cute from the outside with a little patio and the inside is decorated in a New England/ coastal theme. A little confusing since there's a sign that says "Atlantic" but I'm pretty sure you get your product from the Gulf of Mexico but ok. So the waitress seats us at a table - mind you it's maybe 315 - and tells us they are closing we can they can only do to go orders. There is like 3 other tables sitting and eating. But ok. I opened my mouth to be like yea that's not what I was told on the phone but my boyfriend gave me that "please don't be that asshole" face and I smile and say ok fine. The more people come in as we wait - like 330 - and they are told the restaurant is closed. We get the lb of crab legs, lb of shrimp and lb of crawfish with Cajun seasoning and mild heat since we are both from the north. Didn't like that you had to side order things like potatoes sausage or corn on the cob. Other places I've been to just throw it in. We take our sack - plastic bag full - and go home. When we get home the food still hot but slowly over cooking. It was hard to get crab out with it smooshing to pulp. The seasoning could have been stronger and the mild spice was more like weak sauce. I would for sure go medium or even hot the next time. However due to miscommunication/issues with closing time and the lack of heat in their spices I won't be returning.

The food is not what it use to be it appears that meal prices were raised after the rebuild and reopen. The food is not good and the service is horrible the wait staff is simply TERRIBLE!!

This is my new favorite crab shack! I absolutely love the vibe here and especially the people. I get the same server each time and she is amazing. She is so attentive and always present. I always get the snow crabs. Today I got a pound of snow crabs, fries, and a margarita. For starters, I didn't know they had a happy hour! I got 2 margaritas for $3 each :)) The crabs are absolutely to die for. The seasoning is so yummy and they are the BIGGEST crab legs I've had at a restaurant. I'm rarely satisfied but this place never disappoints! I will 100% be coming here in the future for my crab endeavors! 10/10

What's with restaurants I used to love declining in quality? I've frequented Sunset at least 7 times this year and each time, each batch seems to be "dirtier". The straw that broke the camel's back is when we ordered take out: 3 lbs crawfish and 2 lbs shrimp. Both bags had random pieces of marine life and twigs...obviously they didn't clean them. On top of that, half the crawfish were dead before they hit the water...mushy, straight tails that fell apart. How are you going to serve that?

Dined here for the first time early on Thursday evening. Drove up, found a few parallel parking spaces on the street and lots of open spaces in their large back parking lot. Cool place inside. Decorated with cutesy fishing decor including a 30 gallon fresh water aquarium (The latter being very popular with the kids). Wait staff was telling everyone to just go ahead and seat themselves. Several four and six top tables inside with more in their covered patio out back. Seating at decent bar area too. Several television monitors on with satellite TV channels playing. Service was good and attentive. My $34 order of a pound each of boiled shrimp and snow crab came in about 10 minutes. My choice of spice sauce was the mild Louisiana boil. It was spicy enough and very salty. I ate all 2 lbs of my dish. The shrimp were large, cooked correctly, easy to peel, tender, succulent, and flavorful. The same goes for the snow crab legs. I was so glad the snow crab included claws and meaty parts of the main body. I'm also glad they provide plastic bibs and two plastic gloves as the Louisiana sauce splashed everywhere when you use the crab crackers. In summary, this was an excellent first time experience. Parking was easy, prices are very reasonable, food was excellent, service was great, and the place is very nice. I will definitely come back.

I got a hamburger and it was raw. No good, plenty of bad reviews. If I could negative stars.

I placed an order to pick up last night. I was very impressed with the quickness of the order and when it would be ready. The food was horrible the salmon had no flavor was cold in the middle as if it wasn't cooked properly. The shrimp was hard and over cooked. The cat fish was deep fried hard and crispy which is not how I would expect catfish to be cooked. The asparagus was over cooked and soggy and slimy not even edible just limp. The fries that came with the shrimp baskets were soggy and cold as if they were cooked two hours before. I tried to call for several hours but no one could get through on the phone line to discuss how disappointed we were with our meal. I will be contacting my bank to have full payment refunded to my account. I did send a contact us email and and was told that I would have a response within 24 hours but as of yet no one has contacted me.

I usually don't like to leave reviews at places that aren't chain restaurants. But I really hope this restaurant will try to do better. The food is NASTY. I had the calamari and it was so tough. Not a lot of flavor. My man got the fried shrimp and catfish basket and the shrimp came out barely warm. The catfish had a horrible flavor. I got the blackened red snapper and it was just cooked in the oven, not blackened and not hardly seasoned. It tasted gross. I don't know if they cooked it in some oil that was old or spoiled but it was just horrible. The asparagus was cooked nicely though, but I wish I could've had more than 3 pieces. The dirty rice was hard and way too salty. For $50 the food should have been SO MUCH BETTER. It was just gross.

is a place where you can go and hangout with friends and get some great food, food is great, but the service is another story , the waitress took forever to bring what we needed, like salt, lemons, another drink. after I asked three people for the salt I just decided to send my granddaughter to go and ask for it, they still made her wait for at least 5 minutes.. there was one guy that was cleaning the tables and vaping, sagging and his headphones on so he couldn't hear what we were asking him, had to tap him so he can give me a to go box. I would definitely go back and get my food to go, cause it was amazing.. sad that the service was bad..

I had this place bookmarked as a new place to try based on the 4 star rating. It didn't live up to some of these reviews. For starters they do not have their liquor license, but you can order a michelada and they will give you the beer for free. But the michelada set up ended up costing $7!! I ordered the 1/2 pound of shrimp and snow crab with the sunset seasoning. I thought my food was fine. My BF ordered the sea scallops, but what he ended up with were bay scallops (the tiny baby scallops) and was not happy. He did not enjoy his meal at all. My friend got the crab-cakes and she didn't like her dish. We all ordered hush puppies and they were nothing to write home about either, although edible and I finished them off because I was still hungry. Service was fine albeit a little slow. Like we were ready to get out of there and our bill took forever to get. A highlight is we got 10% off for checking in on yelp.

Seafood is my jam and this place does not live up to quality of its Dallas competitors. The Aguachiles barely had any shrimp, the fried shrimp was over cooked and dry, the fried fish undercooked, and the server was just as dry and not helpful. I asked for a skinny marg and he tells me they don't serve those. I go to the bar and ask the bartender and she says sure and makes one for me! The oysters were decent so I give the place 2 stars. We were all so unhappy we ate the appetizers and left for dinner somewhere else. Will go to Aw Shucks from now on, should've known better than to stray. I hardly ever write a bad review but this place SUCKED!!!

We went with a large group for lunch. Called ahead and let them know and they had our table ready and made sure to have to servers attend us. Food came out quick and hot. Shrimp boi l Sunset bang flavor was really good and the Diablo sauce is spicy but enjoyable.

I was pleasantly surprised by the food and how good it was. My mom and brother got the Catfish, my aunt got the fried Oysters, and I got the fish tacos. I would say the sweet tea and lemonade are very watered down so just be aware of that when you order. Also, get the delicious ceviche platter, watch out for the jalapeños!

They need to add more seasoning/salt it has no taste. I had the boiled shrimp and they still have the heads on them also overcooked

Me and my friend were supposed to go to Paridoso to eat but didn't want to wait an hour to eat dinner, as we were extremely hungry. We stopped by this cute little place on the corner and didn't know if it would be good so we walked in to try. Everyone was very welcoming and even on a Saturday night we got sat straight away. We both ordered salmon (one blackened one lemon pepper) and I've never left a review before for anything but this is saying something by me leaving one. It was cooked perfectly, the rice is absolutely amazing, I recommend you get the dirty rice, and the asparagus was astonishing. AND IT WAS ONLY $16.00. Overall I recommend this to absolutely anyone. Best food and the best price, come check it out!!!!

My family came here for my moms birthday dinner & it was terrible. Food came at totally different times & took forever. Waitress was so overwhelmed with tables.

Hostess and server was nice but the food desired a bit of love and attention. Unfortunately, the crab legs are very small and not worth the $17 per 1/2 pound. The Red Snapper was extremely salty and unedible. Pics are definitely deceiving.

Mediocre customer service, not a single refill given throughout the whole dinner. Parsley overload on all dishes. My aguachiles were covered in it.
