This place makes a Tequila Old Fashioned that you absolutely must have. Sunshine has a nice warm, bright feel with all glass walls. They have shuffle board to keep the kids entertained. This place is affiliated with amazing chef Jenn Louis, and the menu is fun. Try the salad with french fries. Servers are very friendly (especially drew). They gave me a free drink on my birthday.

The food I've had here has usually been very good, but there's usually something slightly off for me. The bread is way too crunchy, or there's too much butter or whatever. I have not had this problem with their pizzas, which have been great. Decent cocktails, but I feel a certain character is missing when comparing to any of the other bars in the immediate area. Overall, I would recommend checking it out for yourself, but this isn't a place I predict myself craving.

Update: The last 2 times we have dined here at not so busy hours, the chicken was bland and not the way it usually tastes. Use to love this place, but the quality wasn't up to par as it usually is. Still an enjoyable place to hang out. Shuffle board, daily shot specials, friendly staff, delisious huge portions of chicken and waffles, delicious butter tyme skirt steak!! All around one of my favorite places to dine right now

Maria Lopez

Google
Food was a little pricey, but it was great to hang out with a large party. Sunday evening experience was still lively with shuffleboard and pre season NFL, very attentive waitress, outdoor seating available, and daily shot for $3. Bar snacks are a little pricey, but wide range of food options. I wouldn't mind going back.

Tried Sushine Tavern for Sunday lunch/brunch-ish. I had the baked eggs, which were quite good, and my husband had the burger, which he said was okay. He said the burger needed more seasoning, but the fries were great. My only complaint is that I wish there were a few more health-friendly options on the menu. My husband really enjoyed it, but it's a bit hard for me to eat there because I'm on a relatively strict diet. I was going between 3 and 4 stars...I'd probably go with 4 if there weren't such stiff food competition in Portland!

Google
The Food is varied and fantastic from the best chicken and waffles to the most juicy and tasty chicken breast over a salad I have ever had. The Staff is incredibly friendly and the drinks are delicious. A drink and an entre is about $25 including tip. Super yummy and chill atmosphere.

Google
Not to overhype them, but Sunshine is quickly becoming my favorite place to eat. I've never had anything I didn't think was good-to-great, the service is always friendly, and the atmosphere is nice. The only negative thing I'd say is that it's a little pricey, but it's completely worth it.

David Mihm

Google
Great beer, great atmosphere, great food (if unhealthy! :D). Plus they have shuffleboard. Consistently one of the highest-quality taplists on the East Side -- always at least one Northwest IPA and a couple of real solid imports. Wish I lived closer so I could make it here on a weekly basis.

Yelp
I've only been here once, while visiting in town. It had great reviews and pics, so I had high expectations. It was so delicious! Good portions, so much flavor, and cooked properly. I can't wait to come back and try some other choices. The Morrison chicken slider and The Portland beef slider I enjoyed very much. You do have to order before you sit down, so I would recommend looking at the menu online prior. The only thing I didn't prefer was having to tip on the screen, immediately after you pay. Before you recieve your food, or before you have any service, besides the cashier. It's strange to me, and really awkward. I'm more likely to tip much more after being served. Otherwise, I hope everyone tries this place at least once while youre in Portland! Great food!

Cindy I.

Yelp
Need to try again as we both tried something with fried chicken and it was not moist enough. Full sized sandwich and the salad. So yes it was a little dry. The fries are very tasty but really have another size option as we threw away so much food it felt wasteful but if we ate them all we would have had a coronary right there. Will come back to try something else. Order at the door and they deliver to your table so can't say much about service.

Natalie H.

Yelp
Tried this place for the first time last week and loved it! My sister and I got 4 sliders to share and a plate of fries, and that was perfect to get to explore the menu! Shout-out for this place having reasonably priced fries for a HUGE amount! I hate when fries are expensive and skimpy, which was not the case here! We had leftovers! Tried the Hawthorne, Fremont, Burnside, and Morrison. All were fantastic, but I think the Morrison was my fave. Each one was packed with flavor. I can't wait to go back and try more of the menu!

Marie K.

Yelp
Other than the slightly burnt chicken strips the food was great! Service was good, but they automatically add a 10% gratuity and didn't tell us. We ended up giving a 30% tip because I always give a 20% tip. For three people it was $100 with the $30 tip. All in all I would return and just know that they already add a tip.

Vanessa N.

Yelp
The staff was polite, friendly and speedy. You could not deny this was a Portland establishment as soon as you walk in. The establishment has a family owned type of vibe to it. The slider was sooo juicy and I could really taste the depth the bee hers cheese added to it. The tillikum fries made my mouth water before my first bite. My only regret is getting a slider instead of a full burger!!! the fries are perfect to share as well.

Kathy V.

Yelp
Great place for burgers! After i tried it recently for the first time, I am always craving for more! The burgers are juicy and tasty, but not overly salty. Fries are thin and crispy with that truffle taste, amazing! The inside seating and service is almost all DIY. This is a great spot for a quick meal with friends or alone anytime throughout the day!

Scott S.

Yelp
Had the full Hawthorne and an Ex Novo Pale. The burger was incredibly underwhelming with a well done patty and toppings seemed to be the same quantity as if it were a slider (the bun was good), definitely wouldn't recommend for the cost when there are plenty of better options even within walking distance. The beer was really bad, something is up with the carbonation and tasted like a bad pils instead of an Ex Novo Pale so dunno if bad carb plus wrong beer or bad carb and nasty taps. Service was nice (they do auto add 10% for living wage which is noted at bottom of menu) and fries were quite good. Street seating is nice in afternoon as shaded by other bldgs but overall suggest going to the many other spots immediately nearby. Dunno what happened to this place. Their old cart for sliders was good, maybe just stay away from the full burgers and beer.

Megan S.

Yelp
Oh YES!!! We LOVED everything we ate here. The Sellwood slider was particularly perfect and definitely go for the garlic aioli fry sauce. Extra bonus points for how quickly it came out to our table (faster than fast). It's a casual, order at the counter kind of place, with indoor and outdoor seating. Cost is fair especially for the quality! Traveling with a young one, I also appreciated the kids meal option at a great price ($7) with a fun extra treat (lollipop). I'd definitely come back next time I'm in Portland! Highly recommend!

Bill X.

Yelp
Brought to here by the local friend and have to say I really wish they could open a store in Seattle. Tried their Fremont, Division Philly, and Tilikum. The two beef ones are tasty, but the chicken one's sauce is kinda weird to me personally. Their fries is super crispy, almost the same level as McDonald's ones, iykyk. And the ketchup tasted like homemade, would definitely buy a bottle if they sell it separately.

Heather R.

Yelp
PDX Sliders is a great spot for some sliders and fries. At this restaurant, you order at the counter and then, sit and wait for your food. The cashier was friendly. The interior and exterior were both good. I got a carnitas torta slider which was a special and the burnside which is a meatball slider. I shared PDX fries. Both sliders were tasty. I especially liked the carnitas one. The fries were great thin cut fries. Overall, I enjoyed my meal and will go again sometime.

Yelp
Came in on. Sunday around 11:30, there are already three tables of people and the place quickly filled up in the next 30-40 minutes. The variety of sliders on the menu all looked super delicious. We got the Hawthorne, Morrison, sellwood, and Philly. The brioche bun is fluffy and delicious, so if I have to pick the worst our of the bunch we got, probably the Philly (because it wasn't on the brioche and that's not to say it wasn't good). Tilikum fries were amazing, pretty much a meal on its own, I really how the cold slaw balances out the sauce and chicken tender bits. Ambience was cool, industrial vibe, just a cool chill spot. Price is a bit steep, but the deliciousness justifies. Certain worth a try if you haven't been here.

Jordan B.

Yelp
Wow. A couple of years ago, I met my now wife here on our first date. Today we celebrated our one year wedding anniversary here. What can I say, this place is amazing. The sellwood burger was seasoned and cooked to perfection. It was incredibly mouth watering, I couldn't stop eating it despite sauce falling allover my plate and face. The tilikum fries were incredible. I never thought coleslaw on fries would be good. Non stop deliciousness. The drinks were OKAY, nothing special but the food is. Be aware it's self bus service, order and sit down. But man, the food is so good. Highly recommend

Yelp
We were super hungry after eating at a different restaurant and decided to visit this PDX staple. I was happily surprised to find a ton of butter lettuce, which helped to round out my lunch. The roasted jalapeño was tasty and not spicy. I skipped the bacon this day, but it would've also been great. I like the size of the slider. It's the right size and it was hot and ready in minutes. I also liked the airy and rustic vibe on a rainy winter day. The mass of windows helped to capture as much of the daylight as it could.

Randall T.

Yelp
Fantastic! Stopped in randomly after a meeting in the area. Cool vibe with local craft beer and specialty sliders. Seating both indoors and outside overlooking Williams Ave. I had a couple different sliders and both were super flavorful and well prepared. The smoked pulled pork with kraut and cheese was amazing If you are in NE PDX. well worth a try!!

Alana C.

Yelp
6 stars. I was so happy with this place! Got the special slider, a Pho-Fried-Chicken. Tasted like pho! Crunch bean sprouts and bits of fresh basil, crunchy thin cutlet. Just beyond! Best slider I've ever had in my life. The truffle fries arrived piping hot and crisp. Little bar inside was ready to serve any beverage to us, but I chose an orange blossom cider. Excellent with the meal and not too strong. Staff were incredible. Everyone genuinely warm and pleasant to us. Even a man, who seemed to be a manager or possibly owner chatted with us, thanked us for coming in, and held the door open so we could wheel out our baby stroller. Just felt nice to receive such kind service. I said to my husband, "can we come back tomorrow? And maybe the day after that too??" Haha. LOVE this spot. Darling neighborhood with shopping boutiques, barber shops, coffee, ice cream shops, and a taproom in the close vicinity too.

Gabriella T.

Yelp
These were some of the juiciest sliders I've ever had. My partner and I shared 4 different sliders to give them a try and all of them impressed us. We got the Sellwood, Hawthorne, Burlington, and Tilikum sliders. They were all very different but amazed us with the amount of flavor in each bite. The most interesting one for me was the Hawthorne because I was so impressed with how the flavors of the goat cheese, strawberry jam, and beef patty worked so well together- I've never tried anything like that before and Im glad I tried it here. It's the type of place where you order first at the counter and then get your seats where they bring your food to you when it's ready. They had a good amount of seating and service was friendly. Great place with great sliders.

Niji B.

Yelp
Best burgers I've had so far. The price is really good too. Idk how they pour so much flavor in but every burger is so rich and yummy. I've been having it delivered lately and it always arrives in great condition with no mistakes.

Kevin C.

Yelp
Sellwood Burger - 4/5 - Fresh juicy burger, with the Beecher's cheese creating an even more savory juicy bite. The patty seemed a bit thin, compared to other craft burger joints. Toasted bun and fresh lettuce. PDX Fries - 5/5 - Perfect truffle fries - fresh, crunchy, and full of flavor. Very generous portion, enough for 2 people. Service - You order in the front then find a place to sit. The cashier noticed that there weren't any available tables for my party of 4, so they took time to put two tables together to accommodate. Greatly appreciate that! Ambiance - Ate around 7PM on a Friday and the place was poppin. Ample seating with a full bar, tables, and stools on the side. Clean. I would definitely come back and either try a combo of sliders and/or get a burger w/ a double patty!

Shauna S.

Yelp
Always great and amazing! Consistency makes me a loyal customer! Regardless of delivery of dine in, they've got it down!

Manny S.

Yelp
these are the best burgers i have had in Portland! burgers are my favorite food and a comfort food so i usually get a burger on every single trip i take. this restaurant makes me want to travel to portland more just to have their burgers. they sell each burger as a full or slider burger and if you order the slider, its half the meat and half the price which is super convenient because they have so many burgers that you'll want to try more than just one! i'm a bigger guy so i ordered 4 sliders and that gave me the opportunity to eat everything i wanted to try! they also have lots of beer on tap and way cheaper than downtown!

Martin B.

Yelp
Awesome! Absolutely awesome! 2 small sliders more than filled me up. FYI.....3 or 4 people can share one order of fries unless you are all pigletos!

Kevin P.

Yelp
Overrated. There are so much better burger spots in PDX, this one isn't one of them. Cons: - Parking lot is limited to maybe 6 cars tops. - We ordered three burgers and fries, 25 minute wait. - burgers were extremely dry, every single one of them. Felt like we were eating reheated packaged burgers to go from the store Pros: - it stays open pretty late - very lively neighborhood - you just want a beer with a burger on the side, this is the spot - get their fries - great that they have a slider and full size option - lots of seating

Gabrielle S.

Yelp
Fries are always a must! I haven't had a bad sandwich yet. And the customer service is always great

Heather D.

Yelp
Great for take out or a super casual order at the counter dine-in experience. You'd never think goat cheese and jam on top of a burger would be fantastic, but then PDX Sliders comes along and blows your mind. I love that you can turn any burger into a salad, and they offer such a great variety of burgers/sandwiches. I wish they had a good ranch for dipping fries, but I'm really pulling for issues here. I'd gladly eat here any day.

Eric B.

Yelp
Finally made a visit after hearing so many good things about this place. The food was solid - about what you'd expect from a burger/slider, but nothing that would make me want to come back or bring others. Otherwise the staff were very friendly and the service was super quick. Perfect for a pit stop while out running errands. This spot if right off of Division in a fairly busy area, so there's lots to check out while you're enjoying your meal.

Chris F.

Yelp
Mouth watering burgers and great beer on tap. Take caution when visiting the rooftop bar (which rules): it can get pretty breezy and blow your trash down to the sidewalk on Williams. Other than Mother Nature, terrific eatery with friendly service. No notes - go get a coupla slidahs, a beer, and plenty of napkins to wipe up your drool. Just make sure they don't blow away!

Lindsey M.

Yelp
I came to this place for my lunch break with a couple friends and I have to say the slider and fries were delicious. I got the sellwood slider and was quite happy with it. The fries were thin and crispy which is one of my favorite types of fries. However I will say that there was a small mistake where they didn't add my friend's order you the ticket so she didn't get it until after we finished most of our food. Once we notified them of the mistake they were quick to fix it, and were overall very kind.

Marq P.

Yelp
Let's just say PDX sliders you will be seeing me again. I was welcomed into this establishment by a handsome young gentleman, he heard my slight French accent and to my surprise took my order in French! The look, the smell, the taste of the burger all came along and created a beautiful melody in my mouth. Another thing to note is how it was not too cold in this place it was nice and warm, too many American restaurants keep it ice cold inside. Cool yasss vibes are to be found here. #SLAYYYYY. I felt very welcomed here as a member of the LGBTQIA2S+ community here

Eileen T.

Yelp
Mediocre. Burgers were fine. We got the last bit of French fries so we got burnt ends.. meh... 5 bucks for that.. not too much to complain about. Just your average burger/slider spot. Nothing too exciting about it. We got the smash slider, tilikaum, and Burlington sliders.. super drenched in sauce.. again... nothing that made us want to say we're coming back for these. Pretty average. They do have a service fee that they include in the price but they fail to mention it to you at checkout and then have a tip option ranging from 15-25%... just a heads up for yall... oh and they have signs to bus your own table but don't mention that either. If you're craving for your average sliders..this is the place.

Monorob

Yelp
Probably my favorite burger and fries ever. Prices have increased over the years but it's still more than worth it for me. The service is pretty standard, everyone is nice and helpful, and I've definitely never had a negative experience at PDX before. Would highly recommend!

Shanna C.

Yelp
I honestly was not expecting a lot from this place because what could be so special about a slider? I was wrong though and was truly blown away by the quality of the ingredients and overall taste We did a takeout order and got an order of fries with 5 sliders to share between the 2 of us as a pre dinner snack. I didn't realize how big these sliders were gonna be, so we only made it through 3 of them. Definitely not complaining though because I'm a huge fan of leftovers :) You can get slider size of full size. I personally would stick with slider size just because I like variety, and it allows me to try 2-3 different items as opposed to just one. I'm sure the full sizes here taste just as good, this is just personal preference I cannot wait to come back and try more!

Af R.

Yelp
It happened again?! Why do you have an online ordering system that provides a time, but it's always ready before that time? If I was there, great, but since I ordered online, I'm not. This is the second time that I ordered online and I was provided a time and the order was ready almost 30 minutes ahead of that time. So by the time I picked up my order, everything was cold and the fries were soggy. The worst part this time though is I ordered the Morrison and it had no bacon on it?! That's the best part!!!! The chicken was so dry. I couldn't even eat it without the bacon.

Joanna P.

Yelp
A Portland staple & my fave burger place I love how all the options are named after areas in Portland and they all sounded so good!! Each burger comes in a smaller slider size and a full burger size, so if you're in between two choices, you could get both for the same price as a full :D Sellwood Slider -- SOOO GOOD, the cheese & aioli combo was so tasty I gobbled mine up in like 30 seconds LOL. A bit too small for me but with the fries, I was actually pretty satisfied Loaded Tilikum Fries -- The fries were so fresh and crispy! And the chicken was yummy I'm not too big of a fan of BBQ sauce but it went well with the aioli on these fries! Instagram - @joangela.eats

Saira L.

Yelp
Food was 8/10 Fries are 10/10 Service 10/10 quick and responsive Ambience 8/10 what you would expect from a burger spot. Lots of seating. Indoor and outdoor.

Malease T.

Yelp
Nice little burger spot. I got the the sell wood slider and added a jalapeño. It was delicious. My boyfriend got the pho chicken sandwich. Unique and did taste like pho, but it was a bit salty. The truffle fries were a nice side, although the amount might as well been a meal itself since it was a lot.

Mia H.

Yelp
I ordered to-go from this spot with a couple of my friends and was VERY surprised. I wasn't very hungry so I ordered the Loaded Tilikum, but when I saw it, I realized I maybe should have ordered a burger instead haha. The portion was HUGE and easily could have been 3 meals for me (which it did, and I still didn't finish), but it was so good. I love how they add a twist on your basic fries with mouth-watering sauces, seasoning, and protein. This spot is the kind of place you would want to go to if you really want something big, heavy and to pig-out a bit (in the best way). They have so many different options to cater to different tastes, and I would love to come back to dine-in and try their burgers!

Emily L.

Yelp
The BEST food in portland. The sliders were to die for. The fries were amazing. The sauce on the fries was so good. It was the perfect amount of crisp and sauce. The sliders were dripping in sauce which was so good. The best lunch spot in portland by far.

Evelyn T.

Yelp
Our go-to for sliders and burgers! Service is always friendly and quick and it's easy to get takeout from!

Jim W.

Yelp
My daughter brought home a few sliders to convince me to go there. Didn't take much convincing. I got a reservation for the next day for "date night" with my sweetheart. We shared a few burgers, a big order of fries and a salad. All good... especially the burgers. We'll be back.

Fernando G.

Yelp
The Hawthorne burger and Tilikum chicken sandwich are easily some of the best I have ever tried of their respective catergories. 100% worth checking out

Curly H.

Yelp
I ordered sellwood to go. I was not big fan of the cheese that they put in the burger. Overall it's salty burger. It would be better if they have simple one because beef patty was good.

Theresa A.

Yelp
I had high hopes for this place, but unfortunately it did not hit the spot. You order at the front and then pick your seats. We ordered the Sellwood, Hawthorn, Division, Tilikum, and the Broadway with side of fries. The fries and accompanying sauces were great. The beef burgers and Division sandwich were good, but nothing to write home about. The Broadway was bland. And then comes Tilikum. It was not great. I had one bite and wouldn't finish because it was hard and bland, almost cardboard like. I wouldn't go out of my way to suggest this placed but if someone wants to go here, I would only stick to the beef items.

Bri D.

Yelp
The best sliders in Portland. They have such amazing food here. Generally I eat healthy so if I eat anything too crazy it can upset my stomach. These are always made really fresh and well. Never had an issue! My favorite is the Hawthorne! Goat cheese and strawberry preserve. Morrison if you are craving chicken and something slightly lighter. The Burlington is really good but if you want fries, get them covered with that slaw and smoked pork. Writing this review is making me crave them. It's also a great late night option and they make them pretty fast! The staff is also pretty friendly!

Alex W.

Yelp
Amazing burgers and sliders. Really juicy and flavorful. Hold together well. These are some of the best burgers I've had recently. One of my favorite spots in town.

A. V.

Yelp
I order takeout from here weekly, when I am famished and need a juicy burger a giant box of fries. They do a good job of freshly making food that can handle a few minutes of delivery without perishing.

Linda C.

Yelp
We saw a write up about PDX Sliders in a recent restaurant article and then checked them out on Yelp. After looking at the pictures, we knew we had to try them out. The burgers tasted every bit as good as they look in the pictures. They had nice thick patties, with darkened edges and pinkish centers, and lots of good flavor. We tried the Sellwood, which is a bacon cheeseburger, in both sizes. We also had the Steel, which is double beef, the corned beef and the braised pork All of these were really good. With so many good restaurants in Portland, we often have a tough time deciding whether to try something new or go back to somewhere we've been before. This is definitely a place we will go back to. Here's a tip: The slider has 3 oz of meat and costs $6.50. The regular size has 6 oz of meat and costs $13. But if you get the slider and add a patty, it's only $1.50 more. So you get the same amount of meat as the full size for only $8.00, and without the extra bread you have lower carbohydrates. If you like American cheese, you can get the Steel slider instead of the Sellwood, and the extra patty only comes out to $1.00

Elora D.

Yelp
OK, this place is dangerous! After my first visit, I was hooked. I feel myself craving it every weekend, and I normally don't crave burgers that much! I love fries and their fries menu is so tasty! I highly recommend the Loaded Tilikum fries (especially if you love chicken). Great balance of flavors and somehow reminds me of summer BBQs. The burgers are also really good, I like that there are two size options (slider or a full size). I normally get the Fremont which has bacon and roasted jalapeños. I'm so glad I found this place. I recommend PDX sliders to everyone now!

Shelly S.

Yelp
Great food and prices. They're fast and they actually had sodas like Diet Coke and not RC Cola! These are great tasting sliders. For reference I had the cheese burger sliders. Yum! It's a cute place too!

Bradley J.

Yelp
I had high hopes. They had a great customer service, but the burger was dry. There was a little to no sauce., I asked for grilled onions they were cold onions. The rosemary fries were extremely salty and a little overdone.
