Supanniga Eating Room (Tha Tian)

"The homestyle Thai food at this casual restaurant comes with postcard-worthy views of the Chao Phraya River and iconic Wat Arun. Whether you’re sharing lunch with friends after touring the nearby Grand Palace or enjoying a romantic meal at sunset, try a flavoursome signature dish. The recipes come from the owner’s grandmother; standouts include fried Chinese cabbage and braised pork belly with herbs and cowa leaves." - Michelin Inspector

11 Best Restaurants in Bangkok

"Downstairs at Supanniga Eating Room, glass walls overlook the river—it feels sort of like a houseboat, if said houseboat also had an industrial, Brooklyn-esque design, and was packed with a crowd of grad students, trendy Thai 30-somethings, and families out for dinner. There's assorted seating—couches, iron and wooden chairs—a long bar, and stairs leading up to an open-air roof, which is the prime location for dining. The kitchen here is known for bold flavors, large portions of traditional Thai comfort foods, and a heavy dash of creativity; you'll see everything from smoked fish to braised bitter melon." - Jenny Adams

Best Places in Bangkok and Phuket for a Sundowner

"Get a front-row view of one of Bangkok’s most iconic vistas from Supanniga’s riverside venture directly across from Wat Arun. The temple dazzles at night with its lit up spires but get to the restaurant as the sun lowers behind the striking structure for the real show. The cocktail list was thought up by the bartending pros at Vesper, so the last thing you’ll have to worry about is a gimmicky or syrup-heavy drink. Go for the Bangkok Negroni stirred with gin infused with kaffir lime or the jasmine-infused gin and tonic, which also pairs nicely with the restaurant’s rockstar dishes." - Veronica Inveen

Supanniga serves flavorful, simple Thai food that masterfully exemplifies the "less is more" approach. The dishes showcase a disciplined focus on highlighting proteins and bold, authentic flavors rather than relying on culinary gimmicks. Standouts include the fried rice, reminiscent of bagoong rice, a creamy seabass soup, and a meaty crab omelette. While the drinks and dessert were unfortunately a bit forgettable and could be more distinct, the warm, fast, and topnotch service was impeccable. Food is then 4.5/5. With its perfect ambiance overlooking the temples, it is an essential stop to carve into your Bangkok itinerary for a memorable temple day.

Food wasn't the best, it's either too salty or too sweet. We ordered all the recommended dishes, turns out only the beef salad was okay. Staff attitude and services were top notch. As for restaurant's atmosphere, choose indoor level 1 area. The 2nd floor rooftop was so clustered, barely able to let anyone move around plus the heat, don't worth the hype. In summary, an overrated and disappointing experience.

Food was average, it’s missing the “wow” factor being a Michelin recognized restaurant. We ordered most of the recommendation but didn’t live up to the hype. The creativity of some of the dishes are worth noting hence the 4 stars. Compliment to the staffs who are very professional and attentive to customers’ needs.

We had lunch at Supanniga Eating Room Tha Tien, a restaurant recommended several times by the Michelin Guide, and it truly lived up to the reputation. The food was absolutely delicious – we ordered seafood and it was perfectly seasoned and full of flavor. We loved the experience!

Google
pretty darn good option. Food is creative and tasty, portions large, inside river adjacent view, 2 blocks from the pier. Thai focused menu. spicy soup even for the initiated. a little expensive but not unreasonable. friendly service that is barely seen around. best combo of leisure and quality in the area.

Quite average and expensive. The michelin recommend curry tasted like sambal soup, even though I asked for a little bit of spicy. We couldnt get a table with a view of Wat Arun even though some reservated tables were empty for more than 1 hour. The airconditioning is also too cold.

A really great place to enjoy quality local food in view of the most beautiful temple in Bangkok. On a hot day it's also amazing to rest in AC eating an extended lunch. Service and food were great and you can't beat the view of Wat Arun. The restaurant is also easy to reserve online!

Google
An amazing location if you get outside seating on the rooftop terrace . You get a super view of Wat Arun all lit up from across the river . As well as the sight of all the brightly lit cruise boats cruising by . The mocktails were nice . Tom Yum Goong was really nice as was the green curry vegetables . Highly recommended if you want to take in the night view of the river at close quarters along dinner ! Last order is at 9.30pm so reach by 8.00pm at least for a leisurely dinner .
