"The homestyle Thai food at this casual restaurant comes with postcard-worthy views of the Chao Phraya River and iconic Wat Arun. Whether you’re sharing lunch with friends after touring the nearby Grand Palace or enjoying a romantic meal at sunset, try a flavoursome signature dish. The recipes come from the owner’s grandmother; standouts include fried Chinese cabbage and braised pork belly with herbs and cowa leaves." - Michelin Inspector

11 Best Restaurants in Bangkok

"Downstairs at Supanniga Eating Room, glass walls overlook the river—it feels sort of like a houseboat, if said houseboat also had an industrial, Brooklyn-esque design, and was packed with a crowd of grad students, trendy Thai 30-somethings, and families out for dinner. There's assorted seating—couches, iron and wooden chairs—a long bar, and stairs leading up to an open-air roof, which is the prime location for dining. The kitchen here is known for bold flavors, large portions of traditional Thai comfort foods, and a heavy dash of creativity; you'll see everything from smoked fish to braised bitter melon." - Jenny Adams

Best Places in Bangkok and Phuket for a Sundowner

"Get a front-row view of one of Bangkok’s most iconic vistas from Supanniga’s riverside venture directly across from Wat Arun. The temple dazzles at night with its lit up spires but get to the restaurant as the sun lowers behind the striking structure for the real show. The cocktail list was thought up by the bartending pros at Vesper, so the last thing you’ll have to worry about is a gimmicky or syrup-heavy drink. Go for the Bangkok Negroni stirred with gin infused with kaffir lime or the jasmine-infused gin and tonic, which also pairs nicely with the restaurant’s rockstar dishes." - Veronica Inveen

I cannot say enough about how much we enjoyed our meal here. They have a good vegetarian menu and their general menu is extensive. We had 2 dishes, the crab curry and the green curry with mushrooms that they were kind enough to add tofu too for the vegetarian. We were served by Praeu who was so sweet, kind, and attentive, checking up on our meal status and us regularly. She even brought us milk when I was too ambitious and ordered a spice level too high and adjusted the intensity of our curry after with coconut milk. In addition to exceptional service and food the views of wat arun from the balcony are iconic and picturesque during sunset. The only thing i would recommend is a reservation ahead of time- we were lucky to get a last minute walk in seat at the bar but in general I see why the restaurant is always full- it has a pefect location, warm and kind service, and delicious food!

We visited Supanniga Eating Room Tha Tien (ห้องทานข้าวสุพรรณิการ์ ท่าเตียน), a restaurant listed in the Michelin Guide, so we came with high expectations. The food was excellent — authentic Thai flavors, beautifully prepared, and well presented. On taste alone, it definitely deserves recognition. However, the overall dining experience wasn’t as impressive. The staff informed us that walk-ins are not allowed to sit at the upper deck — those seats with the nice river view must be reserved one month in advance. So despite the restaurant having great scenery, we were seated indoors without much ambiance. Service also felt very technical and cold — efficient, but lacking warmth or hospitality. It almost felt like they were going through the motions rather than genuinely welcoming guests. Still, the food quality is strong and worth trying — but if you want the full experience including river views, better book very early.

Chill vibe. It’s worth to reserve a river-side table in advance for these stunning view during sunset! I particularly preferred the green curry, deep fried chicken wings and iced lemon black tea. Friendly staff’s with proper table service. Definitely I would like to visit here again!

Absolutely phenomenal experience! We’re visiting Bangkok and this restaurant was highly recommended by local friends, now we completely understand why. We ordered four dishes plus the famous Michelin-starred cabbage, and every single plate exceeded expectations. The flavors were incredible, and that cabbage? It absolutely earned its star. The crab meat bai cha plu and the khao klook ka pi were standouts as well. The atmosphere was welcoming, service was attentive, and the quality of food was exceptional. If you’re in Bangkok, this is a must-visit. We’re already planning to come back before we leave!

Wonderful dining next to the water. We visited two Supanniga restaurants and they are both wonderful. I am sure the third is great too. Food here is expensive but you definitely get what you pay for. I recommend the Son in Law eggs. They are amazing. I must have eaten four whole boiled eggs. The crab and pork meatballs are amazing as well. Staff is super friendly. The only downside is that the food (and the drinks especially) can be a little expensive. But it is very very good food. Really recommend eating here if you are in Bangkok.

We had the green curry with waghu beef and the crab curry. Both were very tasty and very good quality although is overpriced comparing similar restaurants around Bangkok. We paid 3.350 in a starter, two main dishes, two cocktails and a tea. Good service and quality but expensive to Thai costs.

Restaurant was small, but cosy. The first floor dining area basically looks out to the Tha Thein Pier for the ferry service to Wat Arun where the monument can be seen across the river Was probably placed at the most strategic viewing corner for our table of 4. Best views at the 2nd level terrace which was hot and humid. Food was good, ingredients were fresh. But not mind blowingly so. Would I go back? Maybe.
