Blue Bottle Coffee Aims For Prime Old Pasadena Takeover Next - Eater LA

"Culver City coffee shop Super Domestic is expanding its offerings, adding a couple of new breakfast burritos that come loaded with some brisket and sausages from LA’s very own Horse Thief BBQ in Downtown. They’re going to be available for weekends only to start, but the Horse Thief team may soon help grow the menu at the Culver Boulevard shop if all goes as planned." - Farley Elliott

Super Domestic Coffee Combines Cycling and Caffeine in Culver City - Eater LA

"Super Domestic Coffee is a cycling-themed cafe in Culver City, opened by married partners Kelly and Brandon Jackson. The cafe features coffee, pastries, cycling accessories, and bicycles, with beans from Long Beach’s Lord Windsor and baked goods from Larder Baking Company. The Jacksons spent a year transforming an old stationery store into this venue, which also does its own roasts and makes all alternative milks and syrups in-house. Super Domestic Coffee's hours are Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., and weekends from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m." - Mona Holmes

Google
Found this gem, went for the first time, and their drinks were very tasty and the atmosphere/vibe was good. the Barista was also very friendly and loved all the Polaroids of the dogs.

Google
Vanilla bourbon with light syrup is a must. Amazing bagels. The juiciest tomato’s I’ve had in culver. The pairing with the lemon pepper, everything bagel, and cream cheese is so delicious! Also love smelling the national park candles while waiting for my breakfast.

Google
Small cute coffee shop in downtown Culver City. Seems to be a popular spot among locals. I tried their vanilla bourbon latte which was highly recommended by a friend. Interesting taste that I've never had before. Creamy, sweet, with strong vanilla flavor. It tastes great. Its very sweet so you could ask them for less syrup.

Google
Such a chill spot! Super cozy inside and everyone working there was really friendly. We got the dulce de leche matcha and it was SO good — definitely recommend. Great vibes all around, will be back for sure.

Zineb Nassrou

Google
Overpriced 6$ tiny cappuccino and unfriendly staff (at least the person who made my coffee wasn’t) The cappuccino was good, not worth the price and surely not for the service. Won’t be returning, the conservatory is around the corner for those who wants good coffee and reasonable pricing even for LA.

Google
finally! a cafe that knows how to make a decent matcha latte. (i mean just look at how green it is!) i love the quality of the ingredients they use here. this is one of my favorite lil cafes in the city :)

Michael Pham

Google
Extremely overpriced for what it is. Espresso is flat and the croissant mushy. Paid $4.50 and $8 for each respectively, which is highway robbery even in LA! Staff are nice.

Google
One of my TO-GOs in Culver City area for sure! Despite the place is tiny and not much seats provided, you'll always find the cafe busy with people stop by for their coffee and that's how you tell it serves great coffee. From people going for simple iced Americano up to those coming for their signature drinks like me. My two most favorites, either of which I keep coming back for, are their Fox (Butter Toffee) latte and their very own Vanilla Bourbon Latte. Not only their coffee is distinctive, their house-made syrups are just slapping!

Yelp
This is the best coffee shop in LA. I even love buying their beans to put in my machine at home. Their pastries are also fantastic for a quick bite!
google avatar

Yelp
MEH Overrated and overpriced, in my opinion. Eight bucks for a small, sweet, weak, lukewarm latte. Thirty bucks for small candles that smelled amazing, but no. Just no. I'm not hip enough to afford this place.
google avatar

Olivia P.

Yelp
This coffee is a small shop. There's some outdoor seats but not many. Vanilla Bourbon Latte: 6/10 I didn't really like this. The bourbon is supposed to add a Smokey flavor, and I really didn't enjoy it. New Orleans Cold Brew: 9/10 Very good cold brew with a hint of sweetness. I really enjoyed this but it is sweeter than your average cold brew. Overall coffee is decent but on the more expensive side. I would personally skip the vanilla bourbon latte.

Yelp
This place was amazing! The employee taking your order was very friendly and my drink came out so quick! I got the Iced Sea Dragon and it was sooo tasty. I also got "The Mañana" burrito and it was a very good size for a breakfast burrito and it was so flavorful. It came with two sauces which tasted really good and if you like spicy you would love them. I did not use the sauces though because the burrito itself was so flavorful already and it was nice and hot with a cheese pull (my fav). The cafe was small inside but they had a lot of cute merchandise available. There was a sweater, a shirt, some coffee bags, some cold brew makers, and more! I also thought that all the polaroid pictures of dogs around the place were super cute and unique. I would 100% come back here again!
google avatar

Jessica M.

Yelp
I asked the barista what the popular drink was here since it was my first time. I ordered the vanilla bourbon latte as she mentioned it was the go to. Pretty good! Cute spot and friendly staff :)

Yelp
Small neighborhood coffee place located on an adjacent corner to Sony Studios on Culver. It has a fun neighborhood feel to it with the friendly service you would expect. They also serve prepared food here including some delicious, large breakfast burritos, in addition to selling some dry goods. When I walked in, it had a strong smell of delicious coffee. I can't say I'm a coffee connoisseur, even though I drink a lot of it, but it has the roast or taste characteristics/ notes of the type of coffee I really enjoy. I definitely want to go back and just get the regular black coffee, but I ordered the vanilla bourbon latte this time (it's mentioned in the window so I had to order it haha). It went well with The Attack breakfast burrito I ordered. That breakfast burrito was huge. It came with two delicious sauces and they didn't skimp on the fillings. It almost was enough to feed me for the entire day. Really cool spot and I'm sad I didn't discover this place earlier despite being so close to it. Definitely going into the rotation. I am definitely buying at least a bag of beans the next time I run out.

Yelp
Working down the street, I drive by every day. They've got a good hustle and bustle in the morning, and I usually run late, so I haven't stopped in before. I went on a walk for my lunch today and stopped in to grab a coffee. I found out that they are Cashless, but thanks to a kind gent who was chatting away with the staff (the workers were super friendly, too), I was gifted espresso bean juice happiness. I opted for the Vanilla Bourbon Iced Latte. Normally I'm a straight black Americano drinker, which is why I was very indecisive when it came to figuring out what type of milk I wanted in it. . I'm definitely game to go back again and try more of their offerings. It was smooth, no hint of burned beans. Just enough sweetness for me. Thank you!

Yelp
Found this coffee joint on the way to the Getty Villa in Culver City, California! It's a tiny shop with a big time vibe! Stars the show was the fox latte and their signature vanilla bean bourbon latte! Service was quick and kind and overall this was a great great couple of coffee!
google avatar

Jake A.

Yelp
Bourbon Vanilla latte was fantastic! Interior is cute and so many fun items to try. Parking is available on nearby streets and they have so many cute pictures of dogs on the wall, and plenty of small coffee related wares to look at or purchase. Cute corner coffee shop!
google avatar

Aerin A.

Yelp
Favorite go to is the iced vanilla bourbon late whole milk with extra syrup !!!! Super good . Coffee is a bit strong but that's how I like it ! Love the camp store / canteen vibes of the market . Loved the cold brew growlers . Come check this place out especially for gab of the sister store mañana in Del Rey !!!
google avatar

Camille G.

Yelp
Loved my avocado toast! Loaded with veggies and some fruity surprises! Would eat again and again. Lots of avocado too! Lovely ambiance of the restaurant, but not so much a "dine in" space because it's really small! But there are some benches outside to sit at.
google avatar

Michelle L.

Yelp
needed some coffee after lunch stopped by super domestic coffee ordered the iced PSL (they charge for alt milk) our drink came out pretty quick PSL was good service was average no seating inside but a few table and chairs outside along madison ave really cute shop but very small the shop portion offers variety of merch, lots of cute gifting options parking: street read all signs!
google avatar

Ladall F.

Yelp
Amazing coffee, tea and pastries! Chill atmosphere, quick service Thank you for your hospitality and customer service
google avatar

Danielle G.

Yelp
Coffee was pretty good here, it's a real small shop so it might take a little longer to get your drink, but they work fast. If it was here or go get em tiger across the street, I would come here if I was just getting coffee. if I was getting food, I would go to go get em tiger. They do have a lot of pastries, though to choose from, and they're pretty high-quality for a quick bite. parking can be a little tough to find, but your best bet is probably on the residential street to the side. lots of little things for sale here like cute candles, and small things. Not coffee related at all, but probably piques the interest of the typical coffee drinker.
google avatar

Hanna K.

Yelp
Love the variety of drinks here and that you can choose the type of matcha. Coffee was very tasty as well. The pastries are from Sugarbloom, which are always reliable - my favorite I've tried so far is the spinach cheese croissant. There is no seating inside, only benches outside. Service was very friendly. They serve lunch/breakfast here too, in case you're looking for a quick meal!
google avatar

Melrose Y.

Yelp
My friends and I were in the area and this was a nearby coffee shop we found. I ordered the iced vanilla bourbon latte and it was good. Nothing over the top or too memorable, but it was a solid iced latte where the caffeine and flavor wasn't watered down by the amount of milk.
google avatar

Matt L.

Yelp
Best chai in LA (especially if you hit it with chaga or vanilla bourbon) and best croissants (from sugarbloom). Also some of the highest prices and most inconsistent drinks. Almost went with three stars because of how hit or miss it can be. Sometimes feels like I paid close to 10 dollars just for oat milk with how some of the baristas make the chai. Kept it at four though cause I love yall. Now please, do better. Especially when GGET and Conservatory are right across the street and always get it right.

Anna G.

Yelp
Dear Yelp Community, First visit this month. Very tiny...have to order then drink outside or to-go, but there is some outdoor seating. Friendly staff. Multiple goods to purchase besides coffee. Enjoy! Well wishes. Sincerely, Anna

Yelp
Perfect for a quick coffee run in the morning before work. Drinks came out quickly and had great flavor! The Vanilla Bourbon Latte and the Hojicha Latte were both 5/5. Not overly strong or sweet. Sandwiches/bagels take a bit longer to come out (15-20 mins), which is understandable as there seemed to only be one person in the kitchen and they are made to order, but they have pastries available too if you're in a rush. Small place, not a sit down coffee shop if that's what you're looking for. Super cute dog/polaroid wall!
google avatar

Nora G.

Yelp
A small local coffee shop that has really cool vibes. Really awesome national park references throughout, from the calendar to the incense and candles they sell. Some of their drinks go toward supporting the local community as well! They have unique flavors, o got the vanilla bourbon latte! The service is quick and kind.
google avatar

Jennifer L.

Yelp
Cute little coffee shop in Culver City. Lots of pastries to choose from and the ones we got were delicious. Coffee and matcha were a little light for me. Best bagel ever. My sister thought it was too much cream cheese but i was in love with it. Can't wait to get more!
google avatar

Dana L.

Yelp
Great food options! Excited to try the matcha! Found parking out front. No room to sit inside though.

Yelp
I'm going to transition,( into retirement) at this spot. Very quiet, chill spot. There's some sort of Insurance Car business behind The traffic on this side street (Fay, I believe) goes from Mel low to mini grid lock... The vanilla bourbon latte was ok ish I'm bestow+ing 5stars for at art- level Bicycle s & the wall of dogs by their parental units. The Matcha donut (vegan) was just 2 bites, $5 got me thru most of the day's ride.
google avatar

Carrie M.

Yelp
Most redeeming part of my experience was chatting with one of the baristas (her name started with an A). She was so sweet and made such a great foam pumpkin. It lit up my morning! What turns me off is how expensive this place is. Don't get me wrong, I know things are expensive. But $7 croissant? That's actual robbery. I spent 16$ for a coffee and croissant Also the store is really random and hipster. Feel like there could be some better products. The merch is cool though. All in all, coffee is decent and interior is cute. But definitely a place marketed for studio execs lol $$$
google avatar

Michael S.

Yelp
This is the smallest coffee shop I have been in, but it's very good. The vanilla bourbon latte is good. If you get it iced order the large which has four espresso shots. They have every possible type of non-milk milk. Pistachio, macadamia, oat, almond. I've tried the pistachio because it sounds exotic but if it's with a sugar-based drink, you can't tell. The drinks and the food are on the pricier side. Seven dollars for a croissant to me is high, it was good but not super flaky and layered as I would expect for a seven dollar croissant. $9.25 for a large ice latte with alternative milk is high. There is no parking except on the street, which is difficult to find. The only seating is two outside benches. On the weekend, there is always a crowd of people standing outside. I recommend this if you can walk there and don't want to sit to eat or chat.
google avatar

Kiah C.

Yelp
First time staying in Culver City and came here as soon as I touched down! Their world famous vanilla bourbon latte is AMAZING! They are not gassing at all, they are telling the absolute truth. Like nothing I've ever tried before. The barista made it half sweet for me just like I like it. I will definitely be back probably everyday this weekend :)
google avatar

Kemy F.

Yelp
Super cute coffee shop. I got the Fox Latte and it was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. Def would recommend if you're around the Culver City area!
google avatar

Tanya M.

Yelp
This place has the most amazing cinnamon roll! It was my highlight of the day. It is not too sweet because the cream cheese icing, tart flavor, balances out the sweetness. Also, got the Sea Dragon, Vietnamese and Scout and all drinks were very delicious. Typically, the Sea Dragon is very sweet but the barista was able to make it less sweet. It is a very small coffee shop with no seating inside. So it is a grab and go kind of place. Will be back again!
google avatar

Andrew T.

Yelp
You ever want a third coffee? That's how much I loved their cold brew, but trust me, their large size was enough to get me to want to run sprints up the culver steps. I was wondering if this coffee shop was all about domestic coffee, which would've been a bit odd since most coffee is sourced from around the equator, but after visiting, I quickly realized that the shop name was in the vein of cycling. Not only does the name pay homage to the term Domestique which literally means servant, but a Super Domestique is someone who would be a star on any other pro-team but chooses to remain as a helper to the mega star squad that they race on. I loved visiting this place every morning while I visited my friends in Culver City, and I would highly recommend making a stop in for a cup of their cold brew coffee with a smöl splash of oat.
google avatar

Jessica S.

Yelp
The food was great! I really enjoyed the bagel which was light & refreshing, but I'd have to say the mañana burrito took the prize. We got a spicy aioli to add on as well & that was insane! 1 person got their vanilla bourbon hot latte which was alright. She has gotten it iced before & loved it though :) Overall I'd recommend this place bc the staff was so sweet, its a cute location to catchup with a friend & there are a few other things on the menu I need to try for myself!
google avatar

Harvey G.

Yelp
OMG WOW, THE ATTACK breakfast burrito. Run ‍... top 3 best burrito I have ever had just look at the ingredients in it. Service is great and the vibes are there! Shoutout to the cashier who suggested the burrito i did not get her name unfortunately. Ill be back tho , thanks guys.
google avatar

Joy P.

Yelp
Great quick-grab coffee and tea bar with a fairly substantial food menu. Their drinks are delicious and unique. My chai latte was spicy! We also tried the Dawson's Creek latte which was so yummy. On the food side, we tried the main bagel- they make their cream cheese in house! - and the parfait, which was really delicious. I'm going back for a bag of the granola. The staff are great - clearly love what they do and take great care with their craft. I shall return! There is quite a bit of seating outside - several benches and 1-2 small tables with chairs. Parking is via meters around the cafe. Great local spot!
google avatar

Tiane J.

Yelp
I tasted this coffee in a catered congregation gathering and was totally blown away. The Creme Brulet was unique and flavorful. The owners of this coffee gem not only love coffee but their community. Thank you for creating this vibrant business! TJ
google avatar

Terry P.

Yelp
Great service, great friendly atmosphere. Coffee and baked goods were delicious too! Skip GGET, and come here instead. No ridiculously loud music, easy on your mind and spirit. No frills, just straight up real nice and calm. The croissants are delicious, well baked and buttery. Maybe too much butter? But it's good. The latte was great! One of the better ones out there. Very clean flavor. Slightly bitter and strong, but no sourness at all and made to proper temperature. I say skip GGET because I needed a coffee after going there first, wasting my money for some lukewarm sour latte. I just needed a decent cup, but this coffee shop made me one that surpasses all my expectations. It was, as I said, one of the best ones out there. Definitely come here!!!!!
google avatar

Daniel C.

Yelp
I love this place! It's small, but the drinks are original and well-crafted. Definitely try the new cold foam, they changed the recipe and it's SO good. The drinks are great, but a big reason I keep coming back is the customer service and the employees. I've interacted with Cricket the most--she is so sweet and hardworking! On the rare occasions where something goes wrong, she bends over backward to fix it. All of the staff is great, though.
google avatar

Brandon M.

Yelp
very tasty very good will be back Homemade syrup worth the wait if there's a line wish they had location in Santa Monica
google avatar

Truc T.

Yelp
I keep seeing this Açaí Bowl that my friend keeps getting & now I've finally gotten to try it! Although this place is known for coffee, I really loved the Mañana Açaí bowl, which was surprisingly pretty filling & large. All the ingredients from the fruit toppings were fresh & the Açaí itself was delicious & not overly sweet. Simple yet savory & overall healthy is definitely a great combination! Definitely will come back to try the coffee & pastries sometime.
google avatar

Yuri J.

Yelp
Super cute coffee shop in Culver! Love their lattes and milk alternatives! Friendly baristas and service!
google avatar

Solomon R.

Yelp
Did a delivery for instacart. Got hooked up with a Matcha& Pistachio tea. Wtf bro!! So fuckin delicious. I'll be back
google avatar

Dani Z.

Yelp
Overpriced. Ordered a large iced coffee and was charged an extra buck for the ice. They don't accept cash, so they lost out on a food purchase, as I was a relatively captive audience due to having to wait for a relative I took to the urgent care across the street. The coffee order was not anything extraordinary. The staff was friendly enough - that's all that this small local spot has going for it and the reason for the second star. I can't review the food - as much as I would have been interested to try it. But living nearby and having the option to brave the Downtown Culver City mess to visit this location, or go to one of the 6 Starbucks around town, for the price/value on the coffee order alone, the chain will get the business.
google avatar

Cici C.

Yelp
One of my new favorite coffee shops. This tiny shop is a gem. Great drinks, teas, and service on point.

Diana R.

Yelp
Expensive and nasty coffee to be honest. I am not sure if it was the time I went, but as someone who loves coffee this place was not it...
google avatar

Farheen M.

Yelp
The Iced matcha latte here is excellent without fail! I was so impressed when I saw their menu has 3 different types of matchas each with a slightly different flavor profile. Also they offer a wide variety of milk options (including pistachio milk and macadamia milk). I have tried them all and each one is strong with a richly unique flavor. I also tried a few pastries today and each one was delicious. I'd recommend the spinach cheese croissant and the chocolate almond croissant. The coffee shop itself is small with only standing room so not a place you can hang out or study but still an awesome place to grab a great coffee or tea. It's decorated beautifully with many plants and Polaroid photos. There's also shelves with various items that you can browse (including their homemade vanilla bourbon syrup) while in line or waiting for your drink.

B J.

Yelp
This coffee shop has tons of great menu offerings, but outdoor seating is extremely limited. Their flavored coffee beverages can run on the sweeter side so you might want to ask sugar levels before ordering. Staff is lovely and kind and are happy to adjust for you/make suggestions. Pastries are super yummy as well. Love the "Call Your Grandma" (they make their own cream cheese!) and their matcha lemonade.
google avatar

Dug S.

Yelp
Sorry no pictures, great tiny coffee shop. No bathroom. That's ok go next door at the trendy coffee shop on the corner. Great service. Cute things for sale. My wife got a sea dragon latte. Loved it. Also got a chai tea, which was spicy and delicious. I got a green tea. Loved it. There's coffee shops everywhere in Culver city. Do yourself a favor and check this place out. Support the small businesses that have quality products, quality service. We will definitely be back. And I'll take some pictures!

Yelp
Overall: This is genuinely my favorite coffee in LA. Drinks/Food: I ordered the Dawson's creek latte which is a cherry rose latte and it's absolutely divine, just the right amount of sweetness and perfect flavor combination. They also have so many different kinds of alternative milks that I never usually see offered at coffee shops (pistachio, hemp, etc). They also have a food menu that looks pretty good but have not yet tried it. My mom tried the vanilla bourbon latte and loved it. Ambiance: Both locations in Culver City are pretty tiny and have limited outdoor seating so not necessarily the best spot to do work at. They have a really cute dog polaroid wall and lots of merchandise to look at while you are waiting in line. Service: Really great and fast! Gf Options: I think they had some gf pastries but I have not yet tried. Cost: Pretty expensive unfortunately, but I think it's worth it every once in a while.
google avatar

Maruko X.

Yelp
Ambiance: small coffee shop, and decorations of tons of dog photos Service: very friendly and patient with specific requests, though the waiting line could get long from time to time Drink: one of the best coffee places in town, and they standard coffee menu and store speciality drinks FOX - ***** Butter Toffee, a percentage of sales go to the Farragut Elementary school PTA, very refreshing iced coffee, balanced sweetness and acid, highly recommend Price: relatively pricey and coffee costs $8+ large cup, very much worth the quality

Yelp
Spectacular latte, finally! We parked near SDC but we're on a mission to go to the popular busy spot across the street, while walking by SDC, I had feeling that we might end up here as a good latte is hard to come by, and sure enough we did and I was so happy. It's a small spot on the corner but don't be fooled, the space is beautifully appointed inside and the staff are very friendly and on top of their game. This is one of the best lattes I've had in a while, it's solid and speaks for itself! I ordered the pastry with the sugar crust, the pastry was good once the crust was removed so I'll definitely try their croissant next time. This is definitely my go to spot if I'm in the area.
google avatar

Yelp
Been here dozens of times. Usually get lattes or cappuccinos. The flavor and quality is always spot on. Gives us a nice boost. Not cheap. Never tried their food. Not much space to chill there but I still like it better than snobby Go Get Em Tiger.
