Super Duper Burgers

The food is good. the generous side condiments is very cool. The food is just too greasy both on the burger and the fries.

DO *NOT* EAT here. There was a bolt/screw (?!?!!?!?!?) in my order last night. This doesn't seem like an accident, looking at the one-star reviews, there are at least two people who mentioned finding staples/metal in their burgers recently. What's going on at this location? Is there a disgruntled employee preparing meals and adding a little something extra. Are they trying to kill someone with choking hazards? What else are they putting in burgers that other people haven't noticed? Avoiding like the plague.

U can’t get a juicier burger than Super Duper Burger! The garlic fries were also good and so is the blueberry shake that’s worth trying! Always delicious and would always recommend. And not to forget…they are pet friendly too! 😋👍🏼🐶

Im in town visiting relatives, they suggested I try SDB. I had the Super Duper Burger hamburger w/ grilled onions and soda. The burger was delish and a bit messy. You’re gonna need a fistfullof napkins.

Usually the food is consistent and good. But when you pay almost 5 bucks for fries, it's not too much to ask for better than this.

My burger style is a double patty with everything, add a fried egg on it which adds richness, creaminess, and a touch of savory flavor to the already delicious burger. The Milkshakes are thick and can be spiked with alcohol as an upgrade. Fries were nice and crispy. Extra seating upstairs. Happy hour from 4:00 - 6:00pm that includes AYCE free fries as long as your buying beer or wine.

The outdoor seating is good place to sit, chill and people watch. The mini burger is perfect size for a snack without getting too full.

Had to get my Super Duper fix coming back to San Francisco a few years after my last visit. I normally love this location because it's conveniently located with plenty of seating inside. Even though I was the only customer, the person taking my order was a little impatient. I got my regular chicken sandwich (with cheese) and garlic fries. Paired it with a post-workout beer because there was some sort of lunch special. The sandwich was drier than I remember. Minimal beer selection. The best parts are always the garlic fries and house-made pickles!

Finally got to try this local chain and it was solid! burger (3.5/5) ordered the sherryeatworld burger since i heard there was chili oil and im here for it! it had some grilled + very small amount of fried onions (a bit sad about that) and some cheese. very decadent and wish there were option for some tomato and lettuce to balance esp for the high price. love the juicy beef patty and bun was solid! the food was a bit cold garlic fries (3/5) small portion, garlic taste was potent and tasty but issue was the fries were pretty stale/cold + cheese was not melty enough. ample clean seating + quality side pickles + self ordering station + friendly staff complete the ambiance for a solid fast casual spot food (3/5) service (4/5) ambiance (4/5) value (3.5/5)

Boy, do I love Super Duper. This location is always clean and never so busy/crowded that you can't find a seat. They have quick service and have never messed up my order, even though I do plenty of add-ons. I also feel like it's one of the few places in San Francisco where you can get full for ~$10. My usual order: a vegetarian burger with cheddar cheese and extra onions, lettuce, tomato, and cucumber. I also get it cut in half. So tasty! When I'm feeling frisky, I also get garlic fries or a kids milkshake of whatever the seasonal flavor is (+ malt). They're currently doing a collaboration with Spongebob Squarepants to have a Krabby Patty meal, which my friend got and thoroughly enjoyed. The packaging was very cute! She debated getting another burger while we were there, but ended up full after the chocolate cookie milkshake. Overall, I have been to many SF Super Dupers, and this location remains my favorite. I've never been disappointed by my meal at any of the other locations, but this one takes the cake for cleanliness, speed, and as a perk, is super close to where I do Puzzled Pint :]

Super Duper burgers do not disappoint! They 100% live up to their name as super! I had the Cali burger on a lettuce wrap (came with jack cheese, bacon, and avocado). The smash burger is ultra thin and crispy, with a great beef flavor from Brandt grass fed beef. It's worth $2 to add a second patty! Subbing lettuce for buns is not only carb friendly, but made this the perfect amount of food post-Barry's. I love their garlic fries, which are medium cut and smothered in garlic and cheddar. Polish it all off with a strawberry shortcake shake and you are going to have an incredibly delicious meal, albeit a little pricey for fast food. The only con was that someone walked in and stuck their whole hand in the pickle jar, instead of using tongs. Although, their infamous lactofetmented pickles are salty and tangy - I will probably never feel comfortable eating them again after witnessing this.

This place needs more training so badly. Only problematic service I've ever had at a Super Duper, and every time. This time they gave my tiny kid oodles of hot sauce, wouldn't bother handing us some napkins, then when I asked for a replacement they charged & out more mayonnaise than even the whitest middle american would stomach. Service is always fast. Have never had a bad sandwich here. The egg breakfast sandwich is excellent, so are the shakes.

The food was fresh and delicious. We ordered burgers with all the fixings and even my picky kids loved it. The shakes were mediocre. The fries and the garlic fries were delicious as well! You order at the counter and you're given a buzzer to pick up your food at the counter but they still came to our table to check on us. The parking can be tricky but we lucked out with a close spot today. Minimum meter parking is like 4.5 hours pay in advance so that's kind of crappy but make an afternoon out of it! Would definitely recommend and come back to try something else!

ONLY reason why I gave this place 5 stars is because of their chocolate banana shake - it's freaking amazing! 3.5 stars for my lettuce wrap burger which needed a little seasoning umph, otherwise very fresh and juicy. If there is a next time, I'll throw in some bacon :D Fries were nice and crispy - also needed a tad bit more seasoning. Maybe it's just me being on a sodium kick but, their spicy pickled cucumbers had a nice unique flavor that paired well with the burger.

Worst burger experience in my life. Burger drenched in grease. Bottom AND top bun soggy wet with grease. The service was lousy. I won't return and suggest you don't either.

The best burger place in the City. And the menu has so much more, even for kids. They have a seasonal menu that has some great choices. And the fries! Heaven! Enjoy!

Overall - The original is the best. A Castro institution that should be on everyone's first timer list. Rating: 5 of 5 Ambiance - Very open space and a ton of seating room for patrons. The Super Duper flair is strong here, and it should be, it all started here. Rating: 5 of 5 Service - They've done a TON to optimize the experience here. A year ago, I might've had some gripes, but it does seem like they've shifted management styles and it shows. Everyone is attentive and very helpful, even if things don't go to plan, they're always ready to solve whatever comes up. Rating: 5 of 5 Food - One of my hesitancies to review this location in the past was the inconsistency, however, they have completely resolved this issue. Great food, reasonable prices. Get the garlic fries, they are the star of the show. You'll likely wait between 10-20 minutes depending on what you order and how busy they are. - What to Get: Garlic. Fries. I hear the milkshakes are good too. Their seasonal options are also fun! - What to Avoid: Letting the food sit for too long; it's much better when it's fresh. Highly recommend dining in as opposed to delivery / pickup.

Overrated. Good for a quick bite but so fatty that you'd never eat there two days in a row. The burgers are greasy in-n-out clones and the fries, which should be awesome, aren't.

Super Duper Burgers is an absolute institution in the Bay Area. It was born in this Castro location in 2010 and gained so much popularity that they've expanded to 16 locations across the Bay Area. They focus on locally sourced ingredients with zero waste. Starting at $7 for a quarter pounder and $10 for a double, it's definitely one of THE best burgers for its value. I'd give it an 8.5/10. What is a 10 though is their soft serve; they absolutely make the best one in the city.

I tried this place today after my haircut on Noe @U-niq cuts and it was beyond fantastic...but I was craving a good burger and fries....(no shake thank you). The people at the register were great. The overall ambiance was really kinda chill, which I loved. I initially was going to sit inside, but it was such a beautiful/cool day after our heat wave, that I headed outside. It was perfect. The only thing that I was not a fan of, and I actually thought I would be (bc I LOVE pickles), were the pickle "chunks", in the jars at the condiment counter. Also, it'd be great if they offered dijon mustard. Other than that, REALLY satisfying.

Went for a quick bite. The service was good and the food came out quickly even during a rush. First time here, and they were patient with me. I ordered a mini burger because it is just one patty. Also, I got the garlic fries. The taste of garlic was nice. No vampires near me for a while because the garlic was strong.

My level of excitement and anticipation was already heightened, due to this being only my second visit to California. So if someone nonchalantly goes around labeling their burgers "Super Duper", they better be able to back it up. This means not just the burger (and bun) are of quality, but I need condiments galore. Pickles, better be so crisp you could iron on them. Sauces, flavors I've never even heard of. And if you get slack with the fries or the shake, I'm out like last week's video trend. I immediately am drawn to the Truffle Burger; grilled onions, roasted portobello mushrooms, monterey jack cheese, and truffle sauce. Like the dessert aficionado I am, I did plan ahead and order a shake. Figuring out where to set a ice cream cone while I ate didn't seem like a good idea (and I for sure was not getting back in that line). Chocolate and fresh strawberries won that round (also, all shakes are organic). Now listen, let's talk about their environmental impact for a second. One of their goals is to minimize their carbon footprint. One way they are doing this is with 100% compostable packaging. Also, they source from local farmers who have the highest standards of humane practices and quality products. This includes nothing ever being frozen, housemade pickles, eggs from free range chickens, and an artisanal bun. So needless to say, but I will anyway, it was all delicious! I could have ordered the ice cream because that burger and fries were gone long before it would have melted. The team there should do trainings for anyone who wants to run more efficiently. The line was long, but it was a well oiled machine (no pun intended) for getting and completing orders. Someone was constantly checking the condiments area (gotta keep those pickles stocked) and cleaning the floor and tables. My own regret? Going only once. If I ever return, I will not repeat said regret.

They aren't lying with their name... That truly was a super duper burger. Fresh ingredients stacked together in perfect proportions to make an incredible cheeseburger. I went with a mini with cheddar cheese, fries and a drink. It took about 10 minutes to get my food, but it came out fresh and hot, so I wasn't mad. French fries were ok. Nothing to write home about. They do offer a trio of sauces to accompany the fries. I feel like that might elevate the experience, but wasn't worth the extra $2 cost for me.

I want to share my bad experiences at Super Duper Castro. Some time ago, while ordering a burger, I saw a mouse in the kitchen. The cashier saw it too, and I was shocked when they explained that they were having a mouse problem due to construction in the kitchen. Because of that, I avoided going there for 9-12 months. Today, I decided to give them another try, but unfortunately, I found a fried bug in my French fries. When I asked to speak with the manager, I was told he wasn't there, and no one even apologized. The only response I got was, 'Your transaction has been voided.' Seriously? That's all they care about? I will be contacting the San Francisco County Health Department, as it's clear Super Duper Castro needs a thorough inspection. You screwed up the order and blamed me for it. I am done with you. I stood at the counter to they and resolve the matter but you refused.

I love Super Duper whenever I'm craving a burger; the original location in Castro has a lot of seating, and you order directly at your table with a QR code. I ordered: * The Mini Burger with jack cheese (+$0.75), bacon (+$1.50), grilled onions, and jalapenos * Garlic Fries Their ingredients always seem fresh, and the fries are the right amount of crispy. The burger tastes great on its own, but I love that there have a lot of additional customizations that you can make. The garlic fries were stacked with freshly-grated cheese and lots of garlic. My total after the tax and tip was about $17 for both. The staff are friendly and the food came out quickly. I recommend!

I come here at least two times a month and this time, I ordered my usual double with cheddar, fries and soda. While waiting, the woman behind the counter with dark hair and some blonde highlights was talking and laughing so LOUD at her coworker, and at some point let out a blood curdling SCREAM, which caused me visibly to shake. OMG, patrons are trying to have a private meal and don't need to be included in whatever drama she has. Keep it professional! After I picked up my food, I retreated to the side dining area, to avoid the annoying screeches, but, oh no, she managed to get in a few more. On top of that, my burger was super salty. Ugh, what's up with that? Fries and soda were perfect. Overall, a bad experience.

So, anyone who is a fan of Super Duper knows that it's all about the little things: the fixings/sauces for the burgers, pickles etc. When I done in at Super Duper, everything is usually done right or pretty close to right, but when ordering for delivery, somehow Super Duper turns into one of it's evil twins... 'Super Sloppy' or 'Super Disappointing'. When ordering delivery, we ask for the sauce and veggies on the side, because otherwise the burger doesn't really survive the delivery trip and just becomes kind of mushed up mess . The last 3 times in a row we've ordered sauce on the side, the burgers came completely bare... With NO SAUCE whatsoever, and was also missing pickles. This is a major bummer and Super... Frustrating. If it's once...okay mistakes happen- twice...Wow, really? Kinda Annoying... But EVERY. DARN. TIME (!?) Now that is just downright sloppy and infuriating that we only have a choice between sloppy burgers or naked meat on bread with no sauce - WTA? Do better team.

Website post hours open until 10:30 pm. Was closed at 10 pm on a Saturday night. No explanation, just "Dude we're closed!" Not helpful when trying to get food in the Castro later in the night.

Came in and ordered two cheeseburgers and a strawberry lemonade. Service: 10/10, super fast and really nice staff Strawberry lemonade: 1/10, completely sour to the point it was nearly unbearable to drink. Burgers: 10/10, bread was so soft and tasty along with the delicious burger & cheese. Everything about the burgers were delicious. Ambiance inside was great, definitely could come back again if I was in the area craving a burger! Yum!

Formerly my go to restaurant. Today I ordered burger & garlic fries and the order arrived literally soaked in grease! Soaked through the bag and 6 napkins to add insult to injury door dash gave me a partial credit! Nasty I'll never order from that store again

Never had an issue with Super Duper. Lots of seating at this location which is nice. I didn't know this was the first location ever! My go to is mini burger (everything on it, cheese, and onions) and fries. You must also get their pickles, and their shakes are a nice consistency. I've got to try their ice cream cone next time.

Food is packaged well and tastes good. Big restaurant and outdoor seating is a plus. Very close to bart and places for shopping

What an amazing burger! Was very tasty and meat was tender as can be. The fries weren't out of this world, but they were still good. Their sauces were something different--all three were good and I loved the pickles. Thought the prices were pretty fair, too.

Wow today I went to super duper Castro and I was delighted with the food and shakes I'm not from San Francisco but I was on a walk and I spent eating at Super duper Castro and I was left wanting to go back and the workers were all very friendly.

To be honest I haven't been in awhile so I'm looking forward to my next visit then I'll have the double!

To be quite honest, when I LOVE a place I gate keep it to myself. I've been to MANY SDB but this is definitely my favorite. Not only is it in a prime location it's SUPER clean. They have the nicest and fastest staff. It's nice to be greeted with a smile and a hello EVERYTIME! Food is always delicious and the staff is so patient and understanding when I want to change my order. I'm not sure if she's a manager but there is a young woman there who has the most contagious smile and positive energy GREAT FOOD and so much to do around the neighborhood. If you're nearby I'd say stop by.

The food is decent and cost too high compared to other places. It has two bathrooms so that's really helpful too. Interior is large and they also have open space outside for eating. Most of all they have a drink dispenser which you can refill your drinks, perfect for a hot day.

Good burgers here. We had a few Super Duper burgers $9.25 + cheese $1 + egg $1.75 + $1.25 mushroom = $13.25 each; garlic fries $4.25 each; mini burgers $6.50 + cheese $.75 + mushroom $1.25 = $8.25 each. The garlic fries went downhill from before. They are tiny compared to what they used to be and the amount of garlic has diminished. It no longer has that garlic burn. The staff is great at this location. Food comes out relatively quick and the place is clean.

One star because after over a decade, SuperDuper still be can't get its web presence figured out (in San Francisco, which is arguably still a town full of web designers.). Every online ordering platform you've ever had has been substandard. Even now Toast forces us to manually enter our entire phone number and then a code every time?! I'm using the same iPhone, so just remember me like every other app on my phone does now in 2024! Year after year all of your problems are obviously still management not working half as hard as we see everybody in your kitchen working. Got the Super Duper double party with cheddar cheese. It was a lot of meat...maybe too much but still fantastic. Great patty flavor and char. Veggies were crunchy and bun was great. Wish the fries were better they lacked salt and the portion was tiny tiny and so was the base size diet coke.

I don't know if I was just hungry, or this maybe the best burger in San Francisco. I miss Burgermister, however late to the game, I have a new favorite! Thanks

In the last decade, I have seen this place improve significantly! I don't know if the management changed, or whatever happened... but I'm definitely a loyal customer at this point! Jackie and the Staff are awesome! I really suggest you come in, and give these folks a try!

Warning for online delivery orders: Super Duper corporate will LIE to you twice about your order. In a 'do not reply' confirmation email that they've already charged your credit card is Lie #1 - 'Problem with your order? Call Super Duper at 415 558-8123.' It's a Lie because the phones are inside the office areas only, unavailable to the workers evenings. Lie #2 - Every time you try to call, even hours after non delivery, the cheery message says 'Sorry but we are too super busy to answer the phone.' Two+ hours after non delivery I was forced to go there in person. The place was dead and bored employees lounged against the counters. Even two business days after the fact when Ivanna called about it, she laughed off that those things were even misleading. What I heard when I went there in person AND on the phone 2 days later? 'It's not OUR fault.' And barely a barely audible 'Sorry.' Shop elsewhere.

Super duper friendly fellows at the counter. A reasonable wait time considering the crowd--happy knowing I'd get my mini burger hot off the griddle (but to-go). I ordered avocado on it and grilled onions, besides the regular stuff, and the counter fellow repeated it... it's on my receipt... but lo and behold I get home to eat my burger and there were no grilled onions in there. Sad face. Yummy burger besides that.

Always enjoy my experience here. Hasn't been around that part and well over decade. No excuses for that. Amazing burgers, amazing garlic fries and the best part. My favorite part is a pickle bar so much fun.

Super might have Burger in its name but I really come here for the Fries ! Not the easiest location to access but If you order online you can get in, and out pretty fast, plus the staff has always been efficient when I have come here. My order for Lunch ! Garlic Fries , and a Double Stack . The burger was yummy , but gooey so have the napkins handy, as for Fries they hit all of my Garlic Lovers Notes ! For the Fries alone I can recommend Super Duper , plus they make a decent burger, and shake (have had the shakes before they are pretty good).

First time trying this while I was visiting SF. Amazing burgers. Do not leave without getting the garlic fries, spiked shake, and the 3 dips. Very worth it. Make sure you grab a couple napkins cause they tend to be greasy (and thus delicious!!!). Well cooked with a fantastic staff and even better ambiance. Couple bars around the area too so it's a good stop during a long night. 10/10.

Great food: mini burgers, fries and kids size ice cream (in cone or cup; I usually get a swirl). The service is good and the ambiance is generally quiet.

Clean and fast, but greasy and overpriced burger and fries. Shake tastes weird too. Service wasn't very friendly. In N Out 100x better.
