This place is outstanding. Great customer service always. Very friendly staff. Getting a little make over as well.

I am very disappointed with my purchase. I bought 4 shanks, but two of them were almost entirely bone, with no meat or marrow. In the end, I ended up with nearly 6 pounds of bones. This is absolutely unacceptable!

Super cheap fruits and vegetables!!! But, during sanctions, Russian products become expensive.

Visited Super King for the first time recently. My in-laws go here on a regular basis and my wife and I went along with them. Large Market with an array of foods that you won't encounter at a regular Supermarket. Foods from all over the world on every aisle. Produce is priced competitively and looks excellent. Plenty of available parking and Carts. We're planning on coming back soon to really check out all the available items in the Store. This location is easy to find at the corner of Van Nuys and Sherman Way. Highly recommended.

Great international market. Competitive prices, fast check out, great wine/beer/spirits selection, and Jesse was very friendly at the register. I'm not not close-by but it's my definite stop if I'm in the area and shopping for something in particular, I always hit one of them, knowing well there are always crazy deals if you take the time to look. Again, can't say this loud enough: they have everything and their prices are by and large unbeatable. Highly recommend!

My mom prefers this market over others in the area. After shopping here a few times, they are consistent on the quality of certain veggies and fruits.

AWFUL treatment by the employees. I've been going to this location for 8 years for produce. I purchase corn weekly and ALWAYS grab a bag of husks appropriate to the amount of ears I am purchasing. I pay for the husks via weight for the corn price. This Wednesday a worker approached me and very rudely insisted that I could not purchase the husks as well. She stated that it is company policy that they send them to compost. I explained that I have been buying them for years with no problem. She reached in my cart and forcefully yanked them from my cart. I asked her why she was taking them from my cart and told her not to touch the items I had in my cart for purchase. She insisted on calling security, which I agreed with and waited for. I explained to them the issue, she countered by saying I hit her. I insisted to security that they review the camera footage and if that was true agree to wait for the police to come, but if they see that it's untrue, they need to have the employee apologize. We all reviewed the footage, obviously found it untrue. Instead of making the employee apologize, they took my full cart and exclaimed they didn't want me for a customer. INSANE.

Super King is a great shopping destination with a wide selection of fresh produce, meats, and International items. The store is well-organized and the prices are very reasonable. The staff are friendly and helpful, making the shopping experience pleasant. However it can get crowded during peak hours but overall a good place to shop for a variety of groceries at affordable prices.

Amazing service!!!!! Assistant manager Mary and Wilson from the deli were so kind in helping me. They went above and beyond! Overall this place has great employees. You'll be able to find all kinds of groceries at this here and the prices are unbeatable.

This market is routinely overcharging customer They routinely put up deceptive signs and when you try to point it out to them they refused to honor it check your receipts!!!!!

I was checking out at the register Ramon was working at when I expressed my shock of there not being shopping bags. Ramon then looked at my husband who was wearing a Captain America shirt and said "too bad Captain America let himself go", making fun of my husband's weight. You guys should do a better job than to let idiots with an IQ less than 100 work there. Very disrespectful. Will definitely not be going back there.

One of the better Markets around this place can get busy but has a big parking lot very good prices on alcohol sometimes I get certain bottles almost half off definitely see myself coming back doing business thanks

Five stars for Krayden who workes in the produce department. Since I can remember shopping at Super King in both Glendale and Van Nuys, I can't recall anyone as helpful, considerate, informative, and kind. He always directs me with a sincere smile and I for a brief moment I forget that I am in a large busy groceery store. Krayden cares for customers as if he owns/manages Super King. Today, when I thanked him for his kindness, he responded "It is my pleasure, thank you for Shopping at Super King." WHAATT??????? I have yet to meet an employee at any store be so genuine. I hope this message reaches his managers and he is appreciated for the joy he brings us. Outside of my comments regarding Krayden, it is noteworthy to mention the cashiers are generally not very social or friendly. The store offers a variety of products including many Mediterranean items (a wide range of herbs and spices and competitive prices). This particular location has a major issue it should address and that is the stink coming from the meat department. I find myself holding my breath and walking quickly away from it.

Be careful! They sell dog food with chicken bones as chicken breast. Does it look like chicken breast?

They have excellent food to order from. The variety is awesome. The service is incredible. Their staff is very welcoming and they're always ready to help you. I always enjoy going to the store. I love the ambience because the place has different food. You can order from different countries and it's always really need to come in. I just eat different country food. I highly recommend the supermarket for groceries and the cooked food from different countries. Makes this place very special and a must try.

I like the food here but one snooty checker just threw the grocery bag at me and expected me to fill it myself. Meanwhile there are all these customers in line behind me looking at their watches. But she is the only one I had problems with. The rest of the checkers were pretty nice. But the place is like a packed zoo. It is like an ER. And there is only one exit not two.

This is such a great grocery store! The prices are very fair, especially for the fruits, vegetables, and meat. Service is great, it does get very busy here, but it is well worth waiting in line for a bit. Everything is fresh and they have items you can't find another grocery stores. Highly recommended!

I have spent a lot of money at this store. They have cheap produce and reasonable prices on meat. They also have great prices and sales on liquor. So..... I bought Ciroq cognac here and was sick when I realized that the bottle did not contain ANY liquor but a coffee mixture of some kind. Fortunately, I didn't get sick but I could have been poisoned. The bottle was sealed. I showed the bottle to the Assistant Manager Maria who actually said..... Our bottles are sealed?????? AFTER I told her the bottle was sealed when I bought it. I called the police who advised me to report it to the FDA and also the Better Business Bureau. I am appalled that a business can react so non-chalantly to the possibility that other bottles could have been tampered with. I will NEVER shop here again.

Ive been shopping at Super King for few years, because the prices are generally pretty good, and never really had issues, but I also never had to return something before, until today... I came to get some things like any other times, but also had 2 things to return that Ive bought few weeks ago, but wasn't able to come back again to return. Thought I'd be able to next time I go since markets generally do not have return windows...But since I never had to return anything at Super King before, I asked the cashier Irene as I was checking out where I can make a return, but she says "I don't know." No disrespect, but what kind of employee doesn't know where a customer can make a return at a market THEY WORK at?! It's hands down the dumbest answer I ever had.... I even asked twice, cuz I thought I heard it wrong the first time, but apparently, I did hear it right. She was just...very dumb... Then I walk over to the small counter by the exit and ask "if I can return something that I bought some time ago?" She says "no problem." So I take out the receipt and show it to her and she says because their policy is TWO days and few weeks old is "too long" ago, she's not able to. Idk why she said "no problem" to begin with then... I honestly don't even know what to say about their communication skills and their customer service skills, not to mention their intelligence level....Im sure they won't go banktrupt, at least not anytime soon despite the kind of employees they decide to hire to be the face of their brand, and I know that even this review will do NOTHING, but this is sad... like,really, really sad and I genuinely feel bad for them....

The staff is unprofessional and extremely rude. The cashiers are extremely disorganized and slow - its like they blame me for having to work there when its NOT my fault. do your damn job !!! The bathroom had feces smeared on the toilets and walls. The only good thing is the produce is cheap and decent quality.

Super King has good prices for fruit & vegetables, but beware of the produce section- it's Mad Max lawlessness up in there! You can't stop for 30 seconds without having 5 people crash/bump into you. Old ladies deadass stop in the middle of the aisle so no one can pass and they throw elbows if you try! Apart from that and the equally rough parking lot, Super King is alright for groceries.

I came to buy my grocery. There was a guy named Fluffy . He made me change from T-Mobile to AT&T things to his customer service. He's a really great guy. I recommend this place to anyone to come in to change from their old carrier to the new carrier from AT&T or spectrum Fluffy is an excellent guy. I recommend his customer service is wonderful. Come in and try it for Fluffy .

Don't buy this brand of grape leaves. It's very thin and rips easily. It's bad and hard to work with, had to throw most of it away.

My Favorite Supermarket....but Although it shouldn't matter, somehow it feels like it does, I am a 63-year-old African American male. I have an MBA from Columbia University (I was actually wearing one of their sweatshirts during my visit today). On my way home from Church I stopped at Super King in Van Nuys( I go there more than once per week). I got a few vegetables and dairy products. Then I purchased a bottle of wine from the internal liquor store. I put the bottle in my cart and checked out and paid for my groceries. This is where it goes left. I was having trouble with a clasp on my bracelet so I stopped at the counter where managers and customer service usually are. I asked a nice young lady to help me with the clasp and she agreed to help. While she was helping me another clerk came by and this woman asked me "did you pay for the wine in your cart?" I said "yes" Then she asked me to show her my receipt, which I did. I can understand her asking something to the effect of "did you remember to pay for the wine in your cart?" Although, the Liquor store takes care of that. However, after I said I paid for it, the conversation should have ended. If you are going to ask me for a receipt you are questioning my honesty and suspecting me of stealing. She should never ask that unless she has proof or at least probable cause that I was stealing something. Do they ask all people who leave the store with bottles of wine to show them a receipt? No, because I have done it dozens of times and not had that experience. In what world does a thief stop at the manager's desk to ask for assistance? I actually left the store, but after a few miles of driving, I went back to the store to complain. Super King ....train your employees better!!! If you accuse someone of stealing you need to be right! She didn't so much as offer an apology as she scurried away. I want an apology!! I checked out at 13:24:12 on the day the clocks were turned back so I think it was 12:25 - 12:40 on March 12, 2023, when this happened

Molded lavash? What is this? Trying to make money on old and spoiled food? It's cents to bake the lavash. Ridiculously

Horrible Deli department. Purchased $15 a pound Italian prosciutto- the worse prosciutto ever. It was old, smelly, tasted rotten and spoiled. The FDA should investigate every item sold here. What a horrible store.

It is nice to come here before 8. Plenty of parking spaces, less shoppers and the produce are in there best. You can navigate the aisles with ease and no long lines at the register.

Ok so I partially agree with the reviewers mentioning attitude from the cashiers... I can look past that. The deli and meat counter are very helpful and kind. Of all the super kings I've been to this is the least busy. Clean. Organized. Well stocked. Plenty to choose from. Famous deals on produce. Expert tips: check out the deli for some Armenian treats, prepared meats at the meat counter. Want to avoid the crowd? For me and my luck I go right when they open or before 9:30am orrrr 20 minutes before closing. Hardly any wait at that time. Bring your own bags!!

Caution: Be careful when you shop here! My elder aunt was robbed and her necklace was ripped right off her neck in the parking lot! This isn't the first time people with bad intentions have approached my family members right outside the grocery store in the parking lot!

This store is awful! The people that work there is rude & very disrespectful!! The manager Gibson is also very rude!! He made excuses for the Lady in the Deli section. All he said was he was sorry & she didn't know how to perform her job. It was a waste of time to talk to him. Prior to the talk with him she hung up on me 6 times!!

So besides the store in general they are alright I haven't had no rude people , anyway moving on! They have this new spot at super king it's the sushi place they have amazing sushi I totally recommend anyone to stop by here they are fresh and good thanks super king !

I actually like super king markets because of there prices and freshness of their produce! Their deli and liquor section is definitely top tier price wise! The reason I'm giving them 3 stars is because their cashiers and security can be quite rude! I hate pulling the race card but I've had them try to play me more than once! Like today the cashier rang up my stuff and threw the bags on top of my items after she checked me out. I asked her if she was going to bag my groceries and she said no! I asked why, she said they don't provide that service. I looked around and there was a bagger at literally every check out loading up bags for the customers- some had cashiers helping? I made her aware and asked if I needed to contact management and she finally grabbed a person to bag my groceries. This has happened to me more than once. I've also had security monitor me extra closely in the liquor area. While other patrons shopped freely, they seemed to follow me around. I will say that although the cashiers can be funny, when I asked for help loading my groceries into the car, the folks who monitor the door are quite accommodating.

The place where you find all Mediterranean ingredients ( vegetables, frozen molokheya, bamia, knafeh, grape leaves, real olives, magdoos, Jordanian & Lebanese olive oil....... and so many of what you would love to have on your table) which is the Arabic, the prices are reasonable, acceptable and with all these varieties it is an organised place

COVID 19 review: I came here early on a sunday morning. There was no line to get inside but it was already pretty packed inside. They have this awkward way one way of traffic to enter. You enter on one side but then cross all the checkout lanes to start shopping on the opposite end of the store. The selection at this store is pretty good and the prices are even better. There is a large selection of deli meats to choose from. The meat and section also has some marinated meats if you want al pastor or carne asada. There was a wide variety of fruits and veggies to choose from. My only complaint is there was no way to navigate those aisles using social distancing. They also have a little separate area for liquor purchases, but they do not allow the carts inside the liquor area, so plan accordingly. I was very pleased with the service here. There was a really long line when I was leaving about 2 hours later so I suggest coming early in the morning if you want to beat the customer traffic.

Stay away spend your money elsewhere. This store is an absolute mess... There is absolutely no way people will be able to flee if there is some sort of an emergency. Huge Occupancy issue. Also everything is over priced in the store people please don't be fooled by their marketing tactics.

There used to be young beautiful Armenian women working here as cashiers before the COVID pandemic and I believe they left because they didn't need to risk their lives for the money. I am a proud Armenian man and seeing them was like seeing a pot of flowers on the kitchen table. It was refreshing and I felt a sense of pride and hope to see an Armenian-owned grocery store grow and succeed in America. After the COVID pandemic they were replaced by non-Armenian women and the quality of service has gone down. If they don't like you they'll forcefully mishandle your groceries by shoving it down the counter, roughly dump it in the plastic bags wrong, and when you pay by card they'll make it appear as if there's a problem on your end such as you don't have the money or are too stupid to know how to use the newest technology, which is meant to embarrass you in front of the people waiting in line. They'll hide their deceitful actions well in the act of doing the job but I know when someone is playing mind games to mess with your head. It makes me very angry and I leave quite upset. I am writing this review because I've already complained to management about the disrespectful behavior of non-Armenian individuals in the Meat department and nothing happened.

Horrible unfriendly cashiers Maria (what she calls herself, never wears a name tag). Cashier No. 1109 does not even want to bag grociers. Also we could not find a single manager at 8am. Their products are not inexpensive either. Naa, there are other "professional" grocery stores nearby!

If not for the traffic at the parking lot, this market is really a good one. In almost one stop you can fulfill your grocery list demands. Prices are really affordable and also almost every week they have really cool deals and specials. When you sign up, you start accumulating points, and they always have some sort of a deal where you can use your points and get the exclusive deals. Usually here I buy nuts, mushrooms, yogurt, vegetable oil (they have really awesome special on that too), avocado oil, fruits. Also would recommend to get their marinated asada,so yummy, just bring home and prepare your dinner . Will add that this place is always busy, so either you go early mornings or just dedicate 2 hours and be patient and you won't regret it

Ok this is sad that I HAVE to write this review: In my photo is the assistant manager and staff who laughed at my wife and I when I asked what cleaning solution does the butcher section use because my chicken smells and tastes like bleach, and this guy had the audacity to ask us to show him the cooked chicken, well jokes on him cause we brought it - and he didn't even bother to smell/taste it himself, just thought we were lying. We came here when I was sick and wanting to make some chicken soup (good for the soul right); veggies, chicken quarters, whole nine, and I knew SK had the cheapest prices, well you get what you pay for here because I made a soup with the chicken and all of the veggies that tasted like bleach- and it wasn't from my house cause the unused chicken and the bag it came in smelled like bleach too; and because the chicken was inedible the whole thing was questionable, but this guy said he would only refund us the chicken; it was literally an extra $6 in produce.... This assistant manager (which I'll shorten to "ass man" to save time) told us that he would only refund the chicken because that's what was bad, and when we asked to get the veggies we put in the soup refunded, he laughed and said no, because the veggies were still good.... well no, because they were put in the soup.... "so?".... we can't eat it now because the chicken was bad, so everything that was cooked with the chicken is bad.... "(silence)", it's all not edible.... "but it was just the chicken that was bad".... and also the veggies because it was in the soup.... do you not get it...? We spent about 20 minutes round and around with this guy and their associate... thankfully manager came by and refunded us the total after asking his Ass Man to take a walk. The manager apologized and said he understood and refunded us the chicken AND veggies. Later that night I threw out the salmon and shrimp I bought also because those too smelled awful. Overall tossed $19 worth of food to avoid throwing up overnight or risk getting my family sick and I couldn't go through the ass man again to get THAT refunded. Avoid this place if you can afford it. Poorly managed facility that doesn't share the care for its customers like other grocery stores. Guy acts like he owns the place, like he's someone's spoiled nephew. Honestly if the ass man had apologized, got me the simple info I had asked for (which he said "I know what [cleaning solution] they use but I'm not going to tell you") and maybe refunded me I would not be writing this, but the customer "service" from him was so atrocious - if you've never been laughed at for caring about your health this guy will be happy to step up, that I will NEVER step foot into a Super King EVER again. So in his words, "what's the big deal" I'll go shop at Ralph's where they actually care.

INGRID the cashier is rude and disrespectful. She throws the items and began to speak down on my father who's an elder, saying,, " I asked you if it is debit or not didnt i ?", when it came to the bags, she said, " count how many bags you have " Just rude. I asked her if she was having an okay day and she mumbled something back, I had to just tell her " have a good day" because she needed that.

I'm a frequent shopper at this location I like the large selection of fruits and vegetables they have ., on my last trip a week ago I wanted something from Deli department even though I took a number I was waiting for over 35 minutes and the employees at deli don't go by numbers and they overlook patrons waiting to be called instead they serve people without numbers who are Armenian and when you ask why they are not calling numbers they totally ignore and pretend you are not talking to them., I'm Latin/Persian and didn't appreciate them being so rude!! There was another gentleman who was Persian who was one number ahead of me and he hadn't be tended to neither a Persian women with curly hair put a ponytail served a a couple that barely walked to counter and ask for service without taking a number.., I was so disappointed and expected a better service and personal not being so racist and prejudice!!! I hope management can train their employees to be fair and courageous to patrons shopping at store .

Staff does not GAF here. The store advertises a sushi platter for parties so I thought Id try it out for a party. They only had one large platter so I got that one and several of the smaller platters. When ringing up the large platter the cashier tilted the platter completely vertically to ring it up and all the sushi got squished together. The creamy ones got all the cream all messy on the other ones. It was messy! I asked if they could make me another one and they were like idk you can go ask the sushi counter. I should have just left all the sushi. It was a waste of $70 and neither the manager or the cashier were remotely apologetic about their own f* up. I mean I get it, they probably don't get paid enough to care so I'm not blaming them so much as blaming a store that clearly doesn't care enough to have that attention trickle down to the customer. So I guess that's the last time I go shopping there. Waste of freaking money.

If I can give a zero to this store I'll will give it! I get the worse experience ever! I buy a pice of pepper jack cheese that was crusty old,I came to the store and the lady "manager" started arguing with me pretending that I was laying,I went to the department to talk to the lady who served me last day and the situation was worse both of them where approaching me,I was not claiming the money my point was about the quality of the product! I never get an apology about the inconvenience beside that I left wit tears on my eyes feeling the frustration! Please don't put people as a manager if they can't handle a simple situation like mine....

Super King is like going to a modern day Souk. In some ways it's challenging making a choice especially when you don't know much about the product. There is not only one manufacturer of Basturma but 5. Not just one Cotija cheese but 4. This supermarket is packed with a plethora of food mainly focusing on Latino & Armenian foodstuff since this area of the San Fernando Valley around Van Nuys & North Hollywood reflects those demographic. However, you do see a good number of Euro Americans & various Asians coming too since we live in such a culturally free flowing region that is Southern California. The vegetables & fruits are usually lower than traditional big store American markets. But look closely to make sure they look & feel fresh since sometimes the lower prices are due to obtaining older, mark down produce. What fascinates me about SK is their wide selection from the Transcaucus region that includes Armenia, the Middle East & bit of Eastern European possibly due to Armenia having been part of the defunct USSR/Soviet Union. Basturma air dried salt cured meat, herbed w/ garlic, cumin, fenugreek, paprika. Soujuk salt cured sausage flavoured w/ chile, sumac, cumin, garlic. Large number of flat breads such as Lavash by various bakeries, Sangak flat bread of Iran. The dried spice section spreads against a long wall at cheaper prices. Just don't get carried away & buy too much since herbs & spices lose their flavour & aromatics in about a year. Anyway, you get the picture. Go by yourself & nose around. Explore this varied culinary terrain which to me is often new & fascinating. Do NOT go on a weekend. It's an absolute ZOO. Pushing a cart around masses of people milling around willy nilly is super tedious. Way too much sensory overload for me. Plus the lines are looong. All this sapping me of time & energy. Not everything is a bargain here so Caveat Emptor....Buyer, Beware. 3+ Yelp stars for the opportunity to become exposed to new foods you never knew existed.

One of the best delis ever. Always love coming here to get my meats and cheeses. The Italian prosciutto goes on sale pretty often in my opinion. Always enjoy trying random meats and cheeses when they're on sale. Recently started keto diet and picked up some Lavash bread. Really good and easy for me to fit into my diet. Will always be back for more!

One star off because of the bad meat ( pork steak legs meat) $1.69 per pound. I bought 5 pieces which Cost me almost $12.00 on 3-27-22. I went home and started washing the meat 2 pieces and boiled and washed and smelled the meat: it's smell awful . Do I dump to the trash. Getting out other 3 pieces and smell first and it smell badly. Well I should return back to store, but you know gas is super high and my Sunday is hectic. Hopefully the meat department will seriously checking out about the fresh meat before selling to customers. Lucky I don't eat meat that day ...from now on I will smell first before walking out the store. Hopefully every one doing the same like me so not wasting our time and money ...

absolutely incompetent service. no basic food hygiene, workers drop greens and vegetables at the floor and pick up put back in. trash cans are dirty, containers to move vegetables smell and dirty. cashiers try to confuse and overcharge people. but the worst out of all is their Lead cashiers and managers defend incompetence stating this is a cheap store and level of service is expected to be this. to comment that public is using this store and health department or sanitation department can be called their sarcastic comment is "go head". No one knows who is managing this incompetent managers, inappropriately trained staff and dirty location that jeopardizes public safety.

I thought SK was A great place for many reasons like the produce and deli. I've been going there many years. But after reading these reviews and there is a pattern of rude staff and inferior quality control of their food, I definitely will avoid going there. Thank everybody for their honest opinion. The open bins that people sample food from have always been disgusting for me. I never have and never will buy anything from that section if I ever go back to the store based on all these negative comments. Thanks yelp for allowing people to expose a store that needs extreme help. I've been to the Anaheim store and that is the most disgusting place I've ever seen. If you go to Northridge there is much more sanity to be found. And where is the LA County health Department? The last chick and I bought from there did smell very rotten. Now I know why thanks to Yelp.

Guys if you respect yourself save your time and keep yourself away from this very low, old market . Right there they have very bad, unprofessional, zero service, the employees whose names are maria, hispanic and the guy named ara they both don't know who is customer, they are zero in their service and they are very nervous to their customers like me , they don't know how to deal with the permanent customer , aggressive service they have especially either the hispanic cashiers or managers there . These both even do not care for customer's opinion then why they work in the market? It better they stay at home if they are nervous. Hereby it means that owner of the market should give them zero value for their service. Very rude behavior they have , plus they have disgusting smell in market and they always charge from customer more money and they do fraud as well . No organic food there as well . Plus unprofessional directorate in the market , it is funny that the one whose name was ara he was only assistant there but he lied me and told that he is a boss in that market , OMG , it is really very sad when they lie to their customer about his fake position .
