Super Nice Coffee and Bakery

Super nice is a great bakery. The employees are always so sweet and go above and beyond to please. Their donuts are honestly the best I’ve ever had - it’s still my favorite in comparison to others I’ve tried in the past. They are on the pricier side but I feel it’s worth it considering the size of the donuts and other goodies. My fave flavors are mango chili, cornbread, fruity pebbles, pumpkin and the key lime pie limited edition I was lucky to try one time! (That key lime is the BEST flavor I’ve had!!! I wish they made this a permanent menu item) I also really love their guava cheese danish - these are also addicting. The only thing I happen to notice is that these employees deserve better conditions. Perhaps a stool chair to have breaks in between customers rolling through? Perhaps better air conditioning in the summer? Also, giving them holidays off like many other locations? I passed by on Thanksgiving this year not expecting them to be open at all and a young lady was doing the boss the favor of even opening while the rest of the staff took off for the holiday. The boss had pies pre-ordered that weren’t even certain to be picked up on time that day, and nothing else was available because the cook and others took the day off (as they deserved!) That young lady also had a family to tend to that day and she was being an angel working on her day off as well! I think the boss should really consider appreciating his team much more - they are incredible and work so hard and perhaps spoiling them a bit with these little breaks for holidays and some accommodations at the location would help make them feel more appreciated! A restaurant or bakery can’t function without happy employees 😌 Also, the random texts for 2 for 1 announcements or deals that include comments towards specific customers or people he associated with is a bit weird. Perhaps dial it back on the drama? 😂 I haven’t seen too many of those lately so maybe he’s calmed down already…other than that, it’s a great bakery!

Favorite place to stop by when in the area. Although I haven’t been able to try a majority of the pastries (food allergies 🫩) the one I’ve had was delish. The crew is always happy to see you and the aromas flowing from inside are intoxicating.

Pretty nice place. I got a cappuccino and one of the peanut butter cookies. The cap was very bright, but the milk wasn’t foamed very throughly. It felt more like a latte. The cookie was delicious! It is smaller than I imagined it, but the flavor was amazing. Apologies for taking a photo after I bit it. The service was quick. The barista got my coffee out quickly and looked experienced on the bar. The doughnuts on display looked really good, and I plan on getting one at some point.

Super Nice donuts are hands down the best donuts, like just in general. The cornbread glazed is magical, especially when it’s still warm. All the pasties are great too. Sometimes you luck out and get something special that isn’t usually on the menu. It’s a great local business that I’m always happy to support. If you sign up for text updates from them, they send silly messages and often offer 2 for 1 baked goods towards the end of the day. Also check out their new-ish pizza place on the west side. The pizza is yummy but don’t sleep on the sandwiches— they are giant and so good.

Been coming to Super Nice since pandemic days. Some of the best donuts in the city. If your lucky and catch the blue berry cornbread donuts when they are in season, grab it. Also helps that the owner Danny is super chill and passionate about the neighborhood. Expensive But Worth It ?? I am not going to lie, this is the best donut and everything seeded croissant I ever had in NYC period. The donut gives me that fried carnival dough with dusted sugar on the top vibe. Think of that ratatouille scene where the nasty critic thought of his beloved childhood memories after taking a bite. This is the dount that you to put a a single candle for your birthday. At $4.90 per donut, it is as costly at a venti cup at Starbucks, and I don't go around spending money like Floyd Mayweather here. That's why it's missing a star, The price only allows for the elite money givers to indulge, students and others go to D&D. A five star rating belongs to those who can service all. Especially for a donut, but I understand the rise of ingredient cost. Expensive But Worth It ??? That's up to you to decide, but for me, I come to make my day happier at that cost. It is a guilty pleasure and a craft worth paying for. I just hope the price stays in the next five(5) years because I can't afford a $6 to $7donut seriously. Unless it's a stacked birthday cake with multiple candles, now we are talking.

As a baked goods expert :-), I can declare with great certainty that the glazed, maple and corn bread doughnuts are THEE most amazing ever! Point blank-no need to look further-this is the standard by which all other so called “fresh” doughnut shops should strive to produce. If they can’t, then just offer a great cup of coffee!

This is a small place, only for pickup, but the pastries and sandwiches have continued to impress me (these are the best donuts I have tried, hands down!) there is also a great variety of coffee and tea options. I will say that sometimes there can be a wait in line, but it’s so worth it!

Their coffee was really bad but the donuts were the best I've ever had. Also the people working the window are always super nice (haha) and are very knowledgeable and helpful.

My rating is based on multiple experiences with Super Nice via delivery. Great coffee, good breakfast sandwiches and delicious doughnuts. Delivery is always prompt and the orders are well packed.

A gem in Harlem for coffee and doughnuts! We stopped by for the first time this morning and ordered the New Orleans iced coffee, an oat latte, passion fruit donut, and maple pecan donut. I haven't had a New Orleans iced coffee before but I'm sold if it's done as well as Super Nice did it! It was lightly sweetened and fragrant and deep but not too bitter, it must be one of my favorite iced coffees in the city! It's a bit out of the way and unfortunately does not have dine-in seating as others have noted but well worth those minor sacrifices!

I recently stumbled upon this small gem. I originally walked past but the smell captivated me and i had to walk back. The place is a little hole in the wall. Your serviced through a window. The gentleman at the register was really nice. He let me know that the bakery has been there for about 4years or so. I had personally never seen it before. They have a bunch of baked good but what i immediately went for was the donuts. They are huge and doughy. But yum yum they are flavourful and delicious. I ended up getting the fruity pebbles, glazes, maple pecan and passion fruit. My favorite was the maple pecan. I feel like the maple taste combined with the pecans was a perfect match. The donut wasnt overly sweet, it was perfect. The glaze was okay, i just wanted to try but i think going with the more exciting flavors is the way to go. The other two flavors were fruity goodness esp the passion fruit. The donuts themselves looked really beautiful. The inside of the bakery also looked really good. They have a pretty good menu size for a small location. Overall i highly recommend and cannot wait to return.

Excellent takeout only coffee shop. Their donut selection is vast. Their espresso was an absolute thing of beauty. So was their croissant. The woman at the register (it was a Friday afternoon) could teach a masterclass in customer service. I'll be back.

2.5 stars, rounded up. I have no idea why people sing praises about the doughnuts here. Perhaps because of lack of competition in the area? I got the vegan loganberry doughnut. Although it was fluffy, it was pretty much flavorless. The glaze didn't even have a strong berry taste. Definitely not worth the looong wait time at the window and $4.90 price tag.

We put in a catering order for our wedding reception, for 120 vegan donuts. Confirmed timing 2 weeks before. They...never arrived (or were apparently even baked). Received a super apologetic email at first, but then the refund wasn't even processed until we sent an email about 8 days later -- they never even replied to the email or offered anything for the mistake.

Glad I got to check this place out as we were running errands nearby. We got a Mango Chili and a Loganberry doughnut. I still don't really know what a Loganberry is but both doughnuts were delicious! They're pretty sweet but I felt like the flavors were distinct from each other. The doughnuts themselves were fluffy and a pretty good size and they had a good number of flavors/glazes available. Staff were also fantastic and quick. Worth noting that there is no seating so this is a grab and go type of situation but definitely worth a visit.

I heard about the place online and lived close so I decided to visit. I went there this afternoon and tried ordering two donuts. The worked there let me know that they didn't have donuts today with a slight smirk. When i walked away he closed the window and my sister saw the worker laughing. We ended up going to Don Pacos a block away for Concha Bread. I don't plan on going back because I felt uncomfortable with how pleased he looked to let me know the bad news also I didn't see anything about them running out of donuts on their website and instagram prior to going. Had he been nicer and suggested other options they offer I may have come back but the customer service is off. I am making this review to let people know to call ahead of time if you want to get donuts so that you don't waste your time.

Come here for the donuts! The Fruity Pebbles one is my favorite and the Loganberry is good too. I had the Iced Chai Latte and didn't like it, so I'll stick to the donuts. Update: after leaving my review the owner reached out to me to see how they could improve the chai. Very kind of him- definitely support this neighborhood business! :)

Always an interesting selection of doughnuts! The quirky location adds to the fun, but don't expect to enjoy it there--strictly window service.

This is a take & go place. A great little locale to grab a pastry & latte. Service is low key. You order, they pack & brew, and you grab and be on your way. 5 stars for their pastries and donuts. I got 2 pistachio crossaints to go. They are out of this world. I highly recommend them. They stay crispy and the filing is not too sweet but very prominent in flavor. The deductiion of star is because of no seating space and I rates places to include the atmosphere. Otherwise is superb ask the way! I also recommend signing up for text updates. You will thank me later.

A year later....I said I was gonna be a regular and I ain't lied. Super Nice continues to be my go-to for donuts and pastries, and now I have the option to walk east or west if one location sells out of whatever I might be craving at the moment. My current obsession is the Honey Glazed Cornbread donut, at the east side spot. LOVE. Sliding over to the website to place my oder NOW. Bye!

I completely understand the hype! This was our first time checking this spot out. I do wish they were open at 7 or 7:30 so I could get breakfast before work more easily. The handmade donuts are delicious. They're what I imagine a New York style donut should taste like. Sweet and chewy and not as airy as Krispy Kreme. I loved the texture. We had the glazed and the sprinkles donut. At 8 a.m. they had a limited selection of donuts. The matcha latte with oat milk was done really well. They clearly use ceremonial grade matcha and do the bamboo whisk. The flavor of the slightly toasty nutty matcha really comes through. Great spot that I will now try to pass by more often!

This place is my favorite coffee and pastry place I have ever visited in New York. The coffee is always perfect, the donuts and croissants are amazing, and the breakfast sandwiches are out of this world, no matter what combo you choose to do. The workers are quick but still maintain quality. There's so much to choose from on the menu it's impossible to be disappointed. No other coffee place can compare to super nice. I'm serious.

Let me state this first: the donuts break the scale. We've gone every weekend since we found this place in the Spring. Honestly the best donuts in Harlem hands down!! The service is what I'd give 2.5 stars. They are always rude. That's how you know the donuts fire though. We put up with it lmao

Funny it's called super nice and that's not what the guy at the window was giving! I'm the only one in line this is my first time, and he is just rushing me and just rude as hell! I ended up ordering a few items then taste good but the sour taste in my mouth from the vibes made me say I wouldn't return! While waiting for the food I joked with another customer that it's called SUPER NICE but we both agreed they ought to drop the nice part and just call it SUPER COFFEE lol ... tip for the guy. Smile and be a bit nicer to the customers I ended up paying with card when I had cash but he thru me off just not a good start to the morning. Hoping the donut redeems this day.

The donuts are excellent as they should be for at $4.50 a piece. The price is justified because they are oversized, fresh and the glazes are delicious. I didn't give them 5 stars because they charge $5.50 for a 10. oz regular latte. I think that is slightly overpriced even for a boutique coffee shop. My other gripe is that coffee shop looks a bit scummy. Behind the frosted glass exterior, you can see a messy pile of junk. Many of the boutique coffee shops I've visited not only serve great coffee but the establishments look nicely decorated. Update: After the manager contacted me and pointed out that the latte was $4.50 and I'd omitted the sales tax - my bad. I'm correcting my review to be fair. However, I still deducted the star because of the shop's appearance.

Conveniently located by my apartment. A real neighborhood gem. Pick and go service only. No where to sit. Staff are very friendly The donuts are made in house. The donuts are delicious! The best donuts are cornbread. I love this place.

This place is great--super tiny storefront tucked away on 117th Street, but they have great pastries and drinks. Their doughnuts and croissants are delicious and every time I've been here, the staff has been warm and friendly. Would highly recommend if you find yourself in the neighborhood.

I can't review the coffee but the bakery is fabulous -- the pistachio croissant and loganberry donut both are amazing. The pistachio croissant is so flaky and once you bite into it (I feel like I finally understand what It means for pastry to "shatter" and WOW) the inside is delicate and webbed and beautiful. I'm also obsessed with the pistachio flavor, which doesn't overwhelm the buttery croissant but does add an amazing nutty sweetness! The loganberry donut is also really delicious and perfectly yeasty and fruity. My only suggestion would be the paper they wrap it in, which peels off a lot of the seriously delicious icing.

Grateful to have Super Nice just a few minutes away. Their donuts are so wonderful and fluffy and the cinnamon roll is a good pick too (I like mine gooier, but know that what they have here is very much some people's vibe so go for it!) Service could be faster as they only take one customer at a time despite coffee/espresso drinks, but it's still Covid precautions. The people there are cool.

People (like some commenters here) needs to understand that waiting in line for FANTASTIC doughnuts is not like waiting in line for Covid Vax or tests...... ITS FUN !!!! And fun worth waiting for !!!! Their doughnuts are legit , their dough is unique and tasteful . Definitely try the passionfruit and the maple pecan . Take the 6 train and treat yourself . A Destination !!!!

Been meaning to go to this little coffee spot and was pleased with the service and drinks! I got the new Orlean style ice coffee and it was amazing. The baked goods look tempting as well so I will definitely try that next time.

I really really love this place! It's pretty close to home, but most times I order from here because it's fast and fresh. It's a great way to get some good food for breakfast or lunch in a very quick amount of time. Their egg and cheese croissant sandwich is my favorite, and their donuts are to die for! Especially the maple pecan - just be sure to order early! I discovered this place while we were still in quarantine, so I haven't gone to visit yet even when I've had a little time, but it's definitely on my list of to do's. Side note, I've had a couple of technical issues with the Uber eats app, no fault of the restaurant at all, but when they've tried to contact me through their system it bypasses my phone goes to voicemail. I have only been able to get through to the restaurant a couple of times otherwise it will show up as a failed call through the Uber eats system or through Yelp. I think the staff is a little annoyed with me over this but I don't have this issue with any other restaurants and I order at least five days per week off Uber eats. So please don't be mad at meeeeeee I'm just enjoying your food

I would say skip this place. First of all the rude rubenesque white dude barista with glasses and tattoos is god awful. Like some of the worst attacks on customers I've ever seen. The donuts are actually really good but they dont have a menu to tell them apart so you have ask the really nice barista to describe them for you. The coffee is ok. A step above gregorys coffee Alba's juice bar around the corner serves coffee and way more other delicious options than this place. Plus, the employees there are actually "super nice"

Great coffee, excellent donuts. Often you'll have a small wait during busier times but it's totally worth it. Didn't have any issues the day I went with service, unlike some of the other complaints I saw. Guy was friendly and chatty and happy to discuss their bean blend for the latte (which, as I mentioned before, was excellent). Donuts delicious although very sweet. I liked the relatively substantial crumb on the donut. Did get an almond crossiant once and didn't love it, but that's not enough to take away their five star review.

I walked 17 blocks on a Sat morning (cat sitting for a friend, so I wanted to try something local) for these vegan donuts. I arrived around 10:10 on a Sat morning, eager to try them. Fortunately they were in stock, but it seems the protocol is to only make one vegan donut for each flavor... and they don't make the vegan donuts every day. So they might only have 6-12 vegan donuts for a day (is what my understanding was). For anyone else hoping for vegan donuts, I suggest either going very first thing in the am or calling first. All of the regular donuts looked glorious. Because I was there 10 min after opening, these vegan beauties were still hot!! Slightly chewier texture. Not a sweet dough. Chocolate frosting also not that sweet.. topped with cacao nibs which make for a nice, deeper flavor intermittently. Sooo delicious. I'm mildly obsessed with great vegan donuts. One of my favorite things to find/try. I'll be back!

I don't mean to be dramatic but these are the BEST donuts I've ever had. I got six different donuts from this shop and every single on hit different. My donut was the strawberry glazed. The donut was perfectly fluffy and chewy. And the glaze was sweet and tart and tasted like real strawberry. A close second was the plain glazed donut and that says a lot. What ever secret ingredient they put in their recipe I hope they never stop. I will always come here when I visit NYC even if I'm all the way in Brooklyn or Long Island, I will make the haul!

Super nice coffee and bakery. Oh and it happens to be the name of this place too! I've been wanting to try this place out since they opened. And I finally got my butt here. Get off the 6 train at 116th street and walk a block and ta-da you're there! Walked in and greeted immediately. Welcoming and friendly staff and the customers coming in and out sounded like they were all regulars, which is always a positive thing. I got a regular coffee and couldn't resist but to get the lemon strawberry scone. Because why not. And I'm glad I didn't hesitate! Both coffee and pastry were delicious. I sat at the counter (3 seats) while I drank my coffee and got a second cup before leaving (yeah, that good). Oh, and while you're sitting there, the smell of the fresh bakery items they're making put you on cloud 9. While getting my second coffee they were telling me that the jalapeño cheddar biscuit is their top selling baked good. So that'll be my next pick for sure. And don't worry, I'll be trying the rest of the bakery items too.

Amazing donuts. Abysmal customer service. At least pretend to care about the legitimate concerns of your customers? UPDATE: Dan, you saw my review, messaged me ("Sounds like a horrible experience. What happened??") then talked to your staff, took their word for it without hearing my side of the story, and then publicly asked me to never come back. Classic. Dan, your staff has never had another problem with me (I've only been there one other time and it went well) so they lied if they told you that I've caused trouble in the past. Or maybe you just made that up so it would make your response sound better? Either way, no wonder your staff lack customer service skills if this is how you treat people who raise complaints. Good luck running your business this way.

I have to say that after returning here and coming for a few times...it has gotten way better! The one lazy barista that would pull up a chair and smoke outside on the curb while the line was piling up at the door is GONE. Who knew one staff member could bring a coffee shop so far down. Now the staff is excellent. The coffee is great. The pastries are great and it's very nice to see the owner in the back pulling more than his share of work. This place is great!

Sweet deliciousness is ALL I can say! This place is adorbs, not sure if there was an indoor option prior but ordering is super easy. I wanted to start with the classic glaze and I was not disappointed. Think crispy cream but 10 times better, it's fluffy and fresh and melts in your mouth. I also had a almond latte, impressed by the steamed milk and coffee quality. It paired perfectly with the glazed doughnut. This place is definitely worth making it a Saturday ritual! Also, how cute is their branding, it's a little piggy!!

These are the best donuts in the entire five boroughs. HANDS DOWN! There's nothing more to say, really. The flavors pack a punch (passionfruit, blood orange, pineapple chili....) and even the regular vanilla iced makes my mouth water just thinking about it. The yeast donuts are super huge, thick, doughy, and chewy, everything you want in a yeast donut. The cake donuts are moist on the inside and have a delicious crunch on the outside - I can't explain how good these are. Even the fruity pebbles donut, which when offered as a topping other places, become stale and soggy almost, are fresh and crunchy here at 4 freaking PM. Insanely good!!!! Coffees are delicious too. Plus how can you resist a place with a cute pig as their logo?!

Dan, it's nice that you saw my comment and felt a need to respond, but I've seen your sarcastic emails you send out and how you basically don't care about how people complain about your b*tchy baristas. I am not interested in fake responses. I'm happily going to other cafes in the area that make be a bit further but definitely better in service. Ya'll can go to Ginjan or El Barrista Cafe for better service and better coffee.

What a cute place in Harlem. I tried a number of their donuts/pastries (it was cheat day, don't judge) - and the maple bar and almond croissant were to die for! Especially the almond croissant - dare I say, it's one of the best I've had? Would definitely stop by for some caffeine - looks like they have a pretty extensive menu.

This place serves excellent donuts and I have been hooked onto them ever since I tried my first one. However, their delivery packaging could use some serious improvement. The three times that I have ordered a delivery from them, the coffee has arrived badly sealed and spilled on the food items that are stuffed in the same delivery bag.

Hidden gem! Window service and very easy to miss while walking down the street in East Harlem - but a delicious stop and absolutely worth it :) Delicious coffee and donuts are solid with fun flavors!

Super Nice continues to exceed expectations even during this awful pandemic. The owner and staff are superbly kind and talented humans who make an amazing product. This isn't just the best cafe in East Harlem -- I'd say it's one of the best ones in NYC. And that is saying a lot! Besides serving impeccable beverages; the sandwiches, baked goods, and oatmeal are also phenomenal. They even do fun events like night donuts and taco pop-ups with Taco Afrikana. I don't love sweets so my personal favorites are the savory hand pies and my partner loves the cheddar jalapeno biscuits. They even sell cute t-shirts, Porter containers, and Oatly oat milk (which is hard to find at local grocers). Can't say enough about this cafe, it's brought joy to many in the neighborhood during a hard time. I wish them many years of continued success!

I just visited again recently and forgot I wrote a review already but I wanted to write another review and wish I could give six stars. Absolutely one of the best pastries and doughnuts in NYC of not the northeast. Maybe even the U.S.

We went to Super Nice this past week and really enjoyed the croissants and doughnuts, Especially the Cornbread doughnut I had heard about them from some friends and they did not disappoint!! This has become a go-to for the occasional breakfast-brunch "grab and go". Great food, coffee, and nice folks!

I love Super Nice, such a lovely neighborhood addition, and friendly people work there! I went there for the first time on my birthday last year and got the Mexican Hot Chocolate. The dude working is like "Do you want some marshmallows with that" I'm like, "Well if that's a thing then yeah..." My dude literally pulls out a giant marshmallow, shoves it on a stick and the pulls out a blow torch to toast it to perfection. Like I said, this place is lovely. I'd add photos of all the delicious pastries and food but it never seems to make its way home and I only live a block away... Can't wait to rep a hoodie one day!

Stopped by Saturday morning and ordered a mocha, dulce de leche latte, a hazelnut morning bun, and a guava donut and surprised by the $22 plus total. The lattes and donut were delicious, but the morning bun was meh. One thing that I was peeved about was the lack of pricing at the cafe. By the time, everything was made and rang up, was I surprised by the total of the bill for 2 lattes and 2 pastries. I know it is completely my fault for not asking for the pricing when I was ordering but who knew that a morning bun and guava donut would be 6 and 4 respectively? The lattes were also $5.50 a pop for a small. Looking back at photos of the store, I see that there is a small list of items listed under the main menu, however the main menu that has all the drink items do not include pricing of pastries and seasonal drinks.

Great Little boutique. The owner is so caring and always lovely to us. The (designer donuts) donuts are delicious and there over the top all different flavors and colors really fun to eat and did I say delicious..yum O! The over size cookie is always a treat after school and hot chocolate yes please. Wish they had more to add to their menu lol They are always ready to serve. But please add to a grab and go egg sandwich with real bacon please lol A great staple for our Community and beyond.

I ordered their deliveries twice, even though they charge $3.99 for delivery. I just couldnt stand that I can't eat their spinach feta pie and the biscuit breakfast sandwich when I WFH. Their food is my savior of the day. I know I didn't order any of their signatures, aka the donuts. But their savory pastries are so so nice. I even ordered an extra biscuit so that I can eat at dinner. Their chicory iced latte is so good as well. I will order again and again. If they ever consider lower the delivery fee they can see my delivery order 5 times a week I bet.

Excellent coffee and donuts in east Harlem. I would recommend the raspberry or blood orange. If you love donuts, you must visit this place, the donuts are divine. They deliver. They also sell various types of coffee to brew at home. Last time I went, I was told they serve Paper Plane Coffee. I wish they would open a little earlier in the morning on weekends though. The price for a coffee is about $4.50. The is often a line outside.

I find this place a hit or miss type of situation. The good part - they have a sale at the end of the day. You can get 2 for the price of 1 and such. Coffee always tastes good as they use good beans and know how to prepare espresso. However I had an issue with getting half and half on he side.. and my reaction was "really? you gonna be stingy on that?".. or sometimes they are out all together. There's a few things that their customers had pointed out that would make business even better. Such as open a bit earlier! 8am is ok for those who start their day at 9.. Also I was told that sale does not carry on to the next day meaning if you're the first client of the day you will buy an old pastry for a full price after they had a sale evening prior (how does that makes sense?).. So beware of that. I do appreciate them being honest about it tho. I do like cheddar scone and cinnamon roll a lot. Enough to stand in line to get it.. Their ambiance - it's a takeout only so just a little window by the train station on 116th.
