This local ice cream store is amazing. It has a small but good selection of flavours. I tried the slated honeycomb, lemon sorbet, biscoff cookie butter, Dutch chocolate and ended up with the salted honeycomb as my choice. Overall I recommend to try this cute and tasty ice cream store.

This place makes some fantastic ice cream. My kids and I are big ice cream lovers, especially homemade, and this place did not disappoint. While talking with the workers we found out that they make all their ice cream right there in the store. They also had some very unique flavors, and their waffle cones also are made in the store and very tasty. We kept talking about how good it was as we walked down to the lighthouse, and a couple of my kids also mentioned how nice the workers were. As for price, it seems pretty much standard with food prices typically high these days, or perhaps even a good deal since it is homemade, specialty ice cream. We each got a single scoop and waffle cone, and it was plenty of ice cream and came to about $7.00 per cone, not too bad. If you get a chance, grab some ice cream from here, turn on a little Forrest Frank, and head down to the lighthouse for some good family time.

Lemon sorbet is a favorite of mine, I have eaten it all over and this is the BEST I have ever had! Absolutely bursting with flavor and perfect balance of sweet and tart! I had taken a big bite out of this before the pic, just couldn’t wait! 😋

So this shop makes all of their ice cream daily from scratch. They get all of their cream from Forest Lake, MN. They are a local shop and a hot spot. Expect a line most of the day. Their prices are incredibly fair and they have a clean lobby to eat your ice cream in. We came right as they opened with a large group and they were extremely friendly. We ended up having a conversation as each person ordered, all of us with something different. Like their name, they really are a superior creamery. You will absolutely love the flavors here. We travel often and eat from a creamery or ice cream shop everywhere we go. It’s a family tradition we have and this place easily ranks in our top two. Try them out and you will not be disappointed. We loved their ice cream so much that we came back again before they closed to buy another scoop! We tried each other’s flavors and I highly recommend all of them!

They had about 6 ice cream options from which we got praline pecan, honeycomb, and Superior vanilla. All 3 flavors were good but were overtly sweet, even when 2 were in affogatos. Overall it was friendly service that let us sample but it still did not prepare me for the sweetness of eating a full scoop.

This place is one of my favorite ice cream shops. We stopped in last year on a whim and got their golden milk ice cream and it was amazing. The small batch ice cream every thing is soo good. On this trip we were there 2 nights and got ice cream all 3 days. This round we had golden milk each day for my wife and I as well as salted honeycomb together were quite lovely. I will state I am a big foodie but not super into ice cream so it has to be something amazing for me to go back 3 times. Just saying. My kids got s'more, lemon sorbet, also honeycomb, and vanilla. They were all amazing, something about small batch that just sets it apart. The flavor of golden was a perfect blend of cinnamon tumeric and cardamom. The vanilla was creamy and flavorful. The sorbet my son loved, kept saying he wanted to ask for recipe which was stated on side, not portions but lemon, lemon zest sugar and water. Sadly I did not remember to take pictures. The waffle cones are amazing. Day 2 we did cones with toppings and the kids loved them. The cone was sweet but not to sweet and had a very noticeable flavor but paired well with all the ice cream. It was great texture and left you wanting more... they should give u an option to have flat waffles added to your scoops. Maybe they do but they were delicious. If you like ice cream and are in grand marais this needs to be your stop, honestly it is something special. Sorry for only the pint that made it home, all I have is pictures of kids with empty bowls, lol.

These scoops pack a flavorful punch! We had the Salted Honey Comb & Superior Vanilla- both great options. Very relaxed atmosphere with lots of seating. You can also buy your favorite flavor by the pint!

Wow, is this ice cream good. I've tried several different ice creams here and my favorite is the honeycomb is out of this world. It's creamy and crunch with the fresh honeycomb. My relatives love the sorbet's and I've also tried the chocolate varieties. All very good. The service has always been friendly and efficient. The small location has indoor and outdoor seating and it warm and welcoming. Highly recommend.

Went yesterday and was not closed. My husband got the lavender honeycomb ice cream and said it was the best ice cream he's ever tasted. Will be back tomorrow! I got the blueberry mint sorbet and didn't love it so much, probably because blueberry isn't a very strong flavor, going to try something else tomorrow!

Great service. While they have nut allergens present, so certainly a "may contain", they do an excellent job accommodating (fresh scoops from the back) needs. And the ice cream is soooo good!

Hands-down, the best ice cream I have ever had in my entire life. I cannot recommend highly enough the honey comb ice cream. It is to die for.

Cute & spacious space with really kind staff. My partner got the affogato with vanilla ice cream and he loved it. I tried the golden milk and wasn't a fan and got the mint cookie crumble and it's sooooo good! Very minty and creamy. Highly recommend to stop by if you're in Grand Marais.

Not only is their icecream superior, but their customer service is too! We had a biscoff cookie scoop, sweet honeycomb scoop and Dutch chocolate with HOMEMADE chocolate sauce! I have celiac and was asking about the chocolate sauce. The owner wasn't working, so the employee called the owner to make sure there was no gluten in the sauce!! Thank you for understanding the seriousness of celiac and being so kind! The chocolate sauce is beyond amazing...thick, rich and silky.

Supreme indeed. Tried lavender honeycomb and pistachio. The former is a little seeeter for my taste but goes great with affogato. Also they sell local Fika coffee. I love how this town brings influences from around the country and delivers on quality food.

Adorable ice cream shop with beautiful decor/wallpaper serving super rich and creamy ice cream! There was a pretty long line out the door but it moved pretty quickly. Didn't realize they gave out samples but I'm not a huge sorbet or chocolate ice cream person so I went with the superior vanilla. It tasted like condensed milk and wasn't the greatest but my husband got the chocolate with nuts on top which he really really liked!

This is around the corner from where I stay. They make it here, which I love. Hard ice cream on waffle cones or cups. I always get chocolate but this is a fudge type, which I don't prefer and they don't offer shakes. I wish they would. I'll get vanilla from now on. I was surprised that there is so much room to sit inside. Even a table for a large party. A good size bathroom for customers too. They sell some gifts that looked cool in the front that are from local vendors if I recall. The AC was perfect on a blistering day. Ice cream was definitely needed here.

I came here during a summer weekend with my 8 year old daughter and I must say they have phenomenal ice cream. Lots of different flavors and options. I ordered a drip coffee with my ice cream and after one pump of cold coffee it was out so I informed the young man working. Another young man said he would get a new one out right away. My daughter and I both finished our ice cream and new coffee was ever brought out. After we finished I went up to a guy older than the other 2 and he seemed like the manager or owner and I simply wanted a refund for my coffee. He offered an espresso drink which I declined because I wanted a coffee with my ice cream. He then apologized and refunded my coffee as well as one of our ice creams which I thought was very generous - I would have been happy with just a coffee refund. Amazing ice cream and fantastic management even when things don't go as planned! Highly recommend!

If I owned an ice cream shop, this is what I would want it to be. Superior Creamery in Grand Marais, MN, delivers delicious dairy flavors and sorbets that are simply unforgettable. The golden milk ice cream was perfection, and the watermelon sorbet, while not quite at perfection, was still very good. The atmosphere is enhanced by cool music playing in the background. While the interior is somewhat plain and could be better adapted to fit the charming location, it's clear that the stars here are the ice cream and coffee, not the decor. A special shoutout for the great kombucha on tap - a refreshing bright addition. I tried the blueberry, and it was so delicious. The cherry on top was their affogato, my favorite Italian coffee treat, expertly crafted. Well done, Superior Creamery. I loved the moment!

Amazing Icecream! This is a new shop that just opened this summer. The owners are locals to the area and the ice cream is made fresh in the shop daily. I had the honey ice cream and it was a flavor experience. The owners work in the shop and are super nice and helpful with any questions you have. All of the flavors are amazing. I got to try 4 since my kids all got cones. This is my new must-stop shop for sweet treats in GM.. I will be back and I need to try the fresh-cut fries!

Their salted honey bee ice cream is TO DIE FOR! Tastes like the ice cream I used to make as a kid (like ziploc bag, ice, salt vibes) but in the best way possible. Super fresh and light. Really friendly staff! Also maple walnut and seasonal pumpkin spice flavors are worth a try.

Delicious handcrafted ice cream by wonderful people. We had the maple walnut, cranberry orange sorbet, peanut butter chocolate chip, strawberry sorbet, mint cookie, and the coffee chocolate chip. They were all so good, none of us could pick our favorite. We went both days we were in GM and it will be a must when we return. Also loved that they had dairy-free options. Highly recommend.

sweet people, better ice cream - or sorbet. came back twice in one day to try both. even with a line they moved fast and had a nice space for people to get in and get out.

Finally something that rivals Izzy's, my old favorite. The salted honey bee was just excellent.

A great ice cream stop in Grand Marais! Ice cream was flavorful and waffle cone was crispy. There were two high schoolers being trained in--I was impressed by the trainer's commitment to quality for the customers coupled with kind instruction for the new employees. I took my cone to go, but the space was friendly.

Great service ("with a smile") and while the flavors are limited, they are awesome. If you have a chance to try "Salted Honey Bee" just do it. Delicious vanilla with salty honey notes. Amazing. Went back for more the next day awesome.

Excellent hand made ice cream with creative flavors. Dogs are welcome on their patio. We had the Dutch Chocolate, Snickerdoodle, and Praline Pecan and each one was great. Check them out!

Wow, homemade ice cream on a cold winter day! This place is great! Spotless inside, super friendly staff, the owners I believe, and great ice cream!! Give these guys credit for being opened on the weekends during the winter months, but enjoy the short line as I am sure this summer, the line will be out the door! We'll be back.

New shop that opened about a month ago. Had the Dutch chocolate with Reese's pieces in a waffle cone. Absolutely yum! Nice selection and the ice cream is made on site. Check it out on your North Shore run.

Superior was truly superior. Actually, it was so good we came back the next day to enjoy the ice cream. We tried a number of flavors, including maple walnut, coffee chip, and orange cranberry. All amazing. We plan on stopping in again next time we are up from the twin cities. Thank and keep it up guys!
