The Best Chicken Wings In San Francisco, Ranked - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"The double-fried wings at Superior Palace strike dangerously close to San Tung’s. They share the same qualities— crispy, juicy, and dripping in a sticky-sweet and spicy sauce that you could use to wax your legs. After a live taste test and a little bit of infighting, we've placed the Outer Richmond old-school Chinese spot as a close second due to a bit more balance in San Tung's sauce. But you don’t need to endure at least an hour-long wait to get their wings, and you can order extra sauce to drizzle all over your rice." - lani conway, julia chen 1, patrick wong

The 16 Best SF Restaurants For A Big Group Dinner - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"Save Superior Palace for when you have a big group and forgot to make a reservation. This old-school Chinese banquet hall-style restaurant in the Outer Richmond can usually find a way to fit you and the entire cast of your family reunion at one of their many 12-tops. Order the taro with salted egg, stir-fried garlic pea vines, sweet-spicy fried wings (better than San Tung's), and ask about the daily seafood and veggie specials. You can also opt for one of the lunch or dinner sets, which feeds eight (very hungry) people for $88." - julia chen 1, patrick wong

10 Great Old-School Chinese Restaurants In SF - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"If you’ve ever been to a Chinese banquet, you’re likely already familiar with Superior Palace. If not, just picture a cavernous dining room, large circular tables topped with lazy susans, a gurgling fish tank housing tonight’s dinner, and gigantic portions. This Outer Richmond spot has been serving local families Cantonese food since the 80s. You’ll spot big basins of West Lake soup, platters of Peking duck, and whole steamed fish dressed in soy sauce, ginger, and scallions being shared during multi-generational family dinners (plus wings that rival San Tung’s—more on that later). You may even spot some regulars sneaking into the kitchen to request an off-menu dish. Reservations typically aren’t needed, though you should bookmark and call ahead for your next Lunar New Year celebration dinner when Superior Palace has a special menu." - julia chen 1, patrick wong, ricky rodriguez

The Best Restaurants For Dungeness Crab In SF - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"This Outer Richmond old-school Chinese spot serves stir-fried Dungeness crab in a few different ways: slathered in a garlicky sauce and served with yi mien, studded with salted egg yolk, or dressed in slivers of onion, garlic, and ginger. Any (or all) options should be considered, but if you only have room for one, get the noodles that are served in a hollowed-out crab’s head—it’s rich and the pasta is a great option for those too lazy to crack open a leg or two. You can also ask if there are any king crabs—staff will bring one out for photos if you order it." - julia chen 1, patrick wong

Superior Palace - Review - Richmond - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"Avoid going to Superior Palace alone. With big lazy susan-topped tables, a novel of a menu, and huge portions, this roomy, bare-bones Cantonese restaurant is best with a large group. Even if you’re not near the Avenues, the food is worth the trip and you’ll want to share it all with people that you actually like. The wok-fried garlic pea shoots are simple yet perfectly balanced, the steamed bass hits your nostrils with ginger and spring onions before you take a bite, and their twice-fried chicken wings are better than San Tung’s. Make sure to check out their “Specials” whiteboard, which often lists limited-supply seafood and veggies. Staff here is always happy to provide recommendations, and being able to speak Cantonese (or having a companion who can) can be useful in scoring some unlisted dishes or plates that are still being tested. If you can’t make a decision, opt for one of their set menus that includes anywhere from four to six family-style entrees (along with a soup and a dessert) and feeds six to a dozen very hungry people. On any given day, you’ll see tables full of neighborhood regulars shouting their usual orders to waitstaff, or venturing to the kitchen to make off-menu requests. At full capacity, the dining room can suddenly feel like you’re at Outside Lands, so if you prefer not yelling your conversations, try snagging a table during lunch or beating the rush with an early dinner. Food Rundown Fried Chicken Wings The wings must be sourced from some of the buffest chickens in the land, because these fried, sweet-and-spicy things are consistently gigantic. After you’ve cleaned off each bone, make sure to keep the plate and drizzle the leftover sauce over your rice to keep the memory of this dish alive. photo credit: Patricia Chang Stir-fried Garlic Pea Vines A big slick of oil, slivers of ginger, and chunks of garlic make these pea vines irresistible. A few quick tosses in a super-hot wok gives everything just a slight char while keeping the pea vines’ crunch intact. This should be the first thing you order. photo credit: Patricia Chang Salted Egg Crab with Pumpkin Crab here is served in several different ways—ginger and green onion, garlic, and our favorite, salted egg. Crab legs and shards of pumpkin are coated in a cured egg yolk and fried. The result is a crispy and intensely umami crustacean and gourd combo we think about daily. photo credit: Patricia Chang Black Sesame Soup The desserts here seemingly depend on what the kitchen staff is in the mood for, but if you’re lucky, this black sesame soup is available. A mix between a liquid and a pudding, the nutty and just-sweet-enough soup may turn your teeth a few shades darker, but we hear that’s totally in right now." - Patrick Wong

Very very authentic Cantonese restaurant. The owners are very welcoming and introduced a lot of classic and authentic dishes. If you are looking for a good authentic Cantonese restaurant this is the one, and their signature dish for chicken wings is really delicious.

Google
Went for the wings and was not disappointed! The bbq pork fried rice also really stood out to me, you could really taste the smokiness of the pork, delicious! The dry fried spicy chicken wings were perfectly fried, moist, and flavorful. The sesame chicken was also cooked to perfection, next time will try a beef plate or lemon chicken. Definitely want to come back with a bigger group so we can order more dishes!

Weylen Was the best server. He was so kind and attentive and cared about the food allergy at the table. The Cantonese dinner special is amazing for the price!! 2 people and 5 plates for $41! You can’t beat that!!

Yummy home style Chinese food. Our waiter was very nice and efficient. The food came out extremely fast! We don't live on this side of the City but would definitely return!

I don’t write a review unless it is exceptionally good! A restaurant like this is a gem in the city. If you would like to taste the authentic crab.chicken wing and others. You should not miss it! The interior is not crystal shining but it is not important when the food is on the table. The restroom is very clean though. So 5 star. Taste yourself

Google
What an awesome place to eat with local friends. Staff were very pleasant and even played with the kids. The Hong Kong crab was delicious, my 1st time eating that dish. Fresh and super good. I'd enjoyed different dishes that I never had before. Highly recommend this place for everyone! Definitely would come back when I'm visiting the city.

Google
Entirely ordinary Cantonese food except for the chicken wings, which are excellent and delicious - make sure to let your server know you want them as soon as you sit down.

Google
Surprisingly a gem in the Richmond neighborhood. Tasty food and not expensive menu if you order from the menu with lunch and dinner specials. The portions are big. They also give you free soup and peanuts when you dine and oranges at the end of dinner.

Yelp
Our hosts come here often and entertain their guests at this location. Quality/Quantity - We got the following $228 pre fixe dinner: Complimentary Roasted Peanuts - I enjoyed it, but no one else seemed to eat this and no one took the leftovers... Minced Seafood Lettuce Wrap - I am not a big head lettuce person but it has little to no nutrition. The other guest seemed to enjoy the filling though. Crabmeat Fish Maw Soup - If you are following, you know I am not a soup person but I did try a sip (for Yelp) and then gave my share to another guest. Scallops & Shrimp with Greens (Broccoli) - The broccoli was slightly over cooked. The scallops and shrimp were on the smaller side. BBQ Sauce Mixed Mushrooms with Beef - My favorite dish. Everything was good and perfect with this dish. The cuts, flavors, quantity, etc. Steamed Chicken (Replaced Roast Duck) - One thin low meat chicken... I had a hard time trying to get some meat off the bones. After the second try, I quit. I did not want to chip a tooth. Mushrooms with Mustard Greens - I really liked these mushrooms (also) and the wife likes the mustard greens. So we gave each other what the other person likes; a win/win. Salted Egg Deep Fried Squash with Lobster - My wife really, I mean really, really, liked the squash. I ate the lobster. Again, a win/win. It definitely did not seem like we got a whole lobster. Steamed Fish - The fish had the most bones I have seen in my life... The other guest warned me to be careful. I skipped this dish, sorry Yelp. But everyone else seemed to like it. Braised E-Fu Noodles with Yellow Chives - Minimum flavor, but normally I would really enjoy this dish, especially if it came with lobster (in other restaurants). Dessert Of The Day - After trying a taste, I also gave this to another guest. Even my wife did NOT want seconds. Overall my wife liked the food; I thought it was okay. Sprite, apple cider, hot water, and hot tea for drinks. Fresh live seafood, see pictures of the tanks. Atmosphere - Small to medium size restaurant. Semi-private room is also available. There is an upstairs but I did not go and I am not sure what is up there. Street metered parking, but today is Sunday so it was free in this area. I believe the tourist parts of SF still cost to park on Sundays. Two bathrooms, one single stall (for men) and the women's seemed to have more than one stall?? Their door was left open the whole time? Service - Good, until the end. I noticed the host and employees had an issue with the bill, and unfortunately it did not seem like it got resolved... Price - $1200+, the host paid. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 2005. Curious after the bill debate if our host will continue to use you for their events...?

Yelp
Five of us decided to go out to dinner on a Monday evening with no reservations, so we went to Superior Palace and at 6:30 dinner time it was not crowded; there were only 2 tables occupied. I have never eaten at this restaurant even though it's been around for ages. We usually eat down the block at Empero Taste. The dishes were decent. Service was okay but it wasn't crowded at all. Seems the four dishes we ordered were somewhat tasty. The portions are no comparison to Empero Taste for about the same price. The lazy susan was very sticky!! Ambiance of restaurant is typical Chinese restaurant! We ordered Westlake Soup, Pork Hash w/salted egg, Spicy Wings, Rock Cod w/vegetables, and Sweet & Sour Pork Chops. They offer a small plate of peanuts on the table.

Yelp
Food is always good here, for all the times I've been eating here, I've never had a problem. Staff is friendly and helpful. It's your regular neighborhood restaurant. Nothing touristy, you're there to eat and they serve you food. Plain and simple!

Yelp
This place was a surprise find during a weekend trip to SF. The food here is great with fresh veggies and ingredients. The service was great and the ambience was pleasant. The tables here are spacious and comfortable with lot of space and revolving center that makes it easy to share the dishes. Lastly the prices are affordable. Definitely better than R&Gs of the world. I highly recommend this place.

Yelp
Just because I live around the corner doesn't make me biased. I don't just come here because it's convenient, I come here because man oh man they have the best sweet and spicy chicken wings, steamed fish, sweet and sour chicken, and Chinese chicken salad in the SF Bay Area. Yes, their sweet and sour fried chicken and their sweet and sour pork is equally delicious and so is their steamed whole fish. Quality, freshly made and everything thats fried is always hot and crispy. It's hard to choose with all the deliciousness going on. As you know my favorite foods are Italian and Japanese BUT when I do get a craving for Chinese food...well this is where I go!

Yelp
I love some of the dishes here. Steamed large clams with garlic. Tofu, mushroom and mixed vegetables. Salt & pepper spareribs. One of my favorite restaurants.

Yelp
Went for a quick dinner. The restaurant was all boarded up but open for dine-in. Salt and pepper rock cod fillet quite average and lacked crispness. Claypot dish with chicken, egg plant and salted fish was cooked well: tender chicken slices, eggplant cooked to perfect softness, large portion. Dish was tasty but has visible oil. Complimentary orange slices with the bill. The staffs were nice and friendly. Three dishes for $27 menu only available for lunch and takeout.

Yelp
We stubbled into this place and we're quite impressed by the menu. We ordered the Hot and sour soup. We tried the Mongolian beef and the Orange chicken which was crispy and flavorful. The service was impressive and the waitress asked for feedback on taste and presentation insuring it's to their customers satisfaction. The place can get quite noisy due to larger parties talking and celebrating. The food being served is on the larger sized portions which creates leftovers to take home.

Yelp
Came here with a group of buddies for a meet up during dinner hour and I got to say..the food is the best. One of the dishes I recommend is the sweet and spicy chicken wings and the other is the egg whites fried rice. Service was A4 and the people that work there are super friendly. Located in a small area at balboa st near other businesses, parking was easy to find. Overall, a definitely must return to the next time the stomach calls.

Yelp
This was meh, I didn't like it much at all. Lots of eggshells in the food, the lady that served us has dirt all over her hands, as if she had been gardening and didn't wash. The food was also just not great. $338 for the banquet meal, but not worth it at all. I tend to live hole-in-the-wall places, but definitely not this one.

Yelp
Initially, I am puzzled. When the Empero Taste (another Cantonese restaurant that's a few blocks away) has an no one can get in within the next 30 minute line outside plus another 20 minutes to wait for the food once you sit down, how could another Cantonese restaurant survive with bad food? Apparently, this one is an example. Ordered a rice crispy soup, Chinese green soak in broth and a tofu pot. None of them is good (too much sugar in the soup, I ordered it just to see if they are at least good at non-Cantonese dishes; greens are overly blenched and the broth has not taste; I purposely deleted the tofu pot in my memory). My feeling is my Cantonese waiter will probably bring his families somewhere else and very possible the Empero too. Anyways, don't let that 30 minute wait at Empero scared you away like me.

Yelp
Food here is great!!! But the lady at the counter is simply mean and rude. My family and I have been coming here for over 20 years but stopped about 10 years ago. The place used to be super busy but now it's a ghost town whenever I go. This last visit at about 7-8 pm there was one table of four being served. I would go on my own because it's close to where I live so it's convenient. I forgot why I stopped going and decided to order some take out. Well now I remember why I and probably the rest of my family stopped going. The lady at the counter, she's rude and just mean. She greets you with a scowl on her face, let me correct that, she looks at you with a scowl, no greeting at all. I paid for my take out and asked for forks and napkins. She looks at me as if I did something wrong, wraps up some plastic forks and a few napkins, rolls them up and slams them into my bag!!! WTH!!! Anyways, the previous waiters were very pleasant and helpful but after covid I only see her and who I think is the owner maybe her husband? But he is very pleasant also. This place is going down fast, and for me it's all her fault. For the sake of your business, get someone more pleasant and friendly to your paying customers.

Yelp
The hidden gem of the Outer Richmond! Large entrees that only cost ~ $10 a dish in Q4 of 2021! They have all the right flavors and are full of the right ingredients! Now that is hard to find for Chinese food these days in the city! They got the meats! They have the vegetarian dishes! They have the classic, traditional Chinese entrees.

Gordon F.

Yelp
We ordered a family meal. We were slightly disappointed. The portions were small for a family meal. Also, the waiters sleeve collar on his long sleeve shirt was not buttoned. Every time he would put up plate of food down on our table, his sleeve collar would touch our food. I don't think any of my siblings or myself were satisfied.

Yelp
All the three stars and below reviews are outdated. Came here with family not knowing what to expect and man did they impress. I hate eating Chinese food, but this restaurant definitely made it to the top of my list of Chinese restaurants. The chef knows how to fry. Their chicken wings were wayyyy better than San Tung's. So good I almost didn't even want to share this. Hopefully more people will try this place regardless of the bad reviews. Service was great. I didn't see any mean lady. The ambiance is just like any other old Chinese restaurants. Will definitely come back soon!
google avatar

Andrea L.

Yelp
Fun and delicious family banquet style dinner here. Sweet rice stuffed duck and wintermelon soup were highlights. You might have to call ahead to reserve this / order in advance. Street Parking wasn't too hard to find. It's one block from Purple Cow / Kow, the boba place. And there's another boba shop nearby too. They also do a great steamed sea bass whole fish, empress yellow chicken, and seafood chow mein. Jellyfish with pickled radish was also a delicacy here.

Yelp
Today was one of those days I didn't feel like cooking my family dinner. So ordering take-out sounded like a good idea. Too bad for me I didn't consider another restaurant for take-out instead of this one. I imagined that it would taste good, but while eating the food I ordered, sweet and sour pork, broccoli beef, bbq pork chow mein, sauteed rod cod, and chicken with black bean sauce, half of us at our dinner table said the food was flavorless. Maybe they needed to add more salt or soy sauce or even some MSG. I also thought there was some funny taste that wasn't like how ingredients to cook with would taste. I will say that they cook the food fast - maybe that means quality suffers. Perhaps every once in a while the owner if he or she cares, should pretend to be a customer and order take-out for themselves and try the food. But my impression is that they really don't care. They haven't even claimed their listing on Yelp, nor has anyone added a link to some online menu. In the photos, the menu is date back to 2019 and you know prices have increased like $3 to $4 more for each item. If you value your hard-earned money, save it for another restaurant instead of this one.
google avatar

Christy L.

Yelp
OK let me say whoever complained about FIVE cents and rated this place two stars because of that can go eff off. We're in the middle of a pandemic, small businesses are struggling and you are losing sleep over five cents?? No offense but honestly the prices here are SO fair. Tell me where else you can get three dishes for $27. I ordered Shanghai noodles, beef chow fun and salt and pepper pork ribs for $27.50. I am not losing sleep over 5 cents. Because I'm a decent human and in the grand scheme of things the economical value of this dishes I ordered today still outweighs the five pennies. Also the food was really good. If you like pork, definitely order the salt and pepper pork ribs. Noodles were good too. I literally had to review mid eating bc the salt and pepper pork ribs are so damn yummy.

Yelp
We were hiking with large party and had hungry kids. Other restaurants we thought were open were closed or boarded up. Walked in randomly at 2:30 pm and were the only customers. They opened their kitchen to serve us and let us order from the special three dishes for $30 menu. We ordered 9 items - Rock cod hot pot, sesame chicken with sauce on side, XO green beans, HK spare ribs, Mongolian chicken, wor wonton soup, and beef chow fun. Everything came in 15 minutes and totaled $100 including tax. We ate everything including the complementary oranges. We even ordered a sesame chicken to go and they gave us free rice for the little ones. Excellent service and consideration for our kids. Exactly what I expect from a local Chinese restaurant and made our day! Would go back for their giant giant 3 pound live crabs. The bathrooms were newer and clean. The lady serving us was very helpful and courteous.

Yelp
On a recent Tuesday evening, our group of four were looking for a place for dinner in the area. Several options were closed so we decided to give Superior Garden a try. Arriving at 5:30, we were the first customers and had our choice of tables. The menu was extensive, but there was another menu on the wall with about 20 items in Chinese. Our friend who reads Chinese recommended two dishes on the wall and then we selected a couple items off the menu. We were first served a complementary bowl of pork and veggie soup. It was flavorful. Our dishes were: Fukien style steamed tofu (wall menu) - served in a bamboo steamer, the silken tofu was topped with minced pork, shrimp and mushrooms in a gravy. This was delicious. Peking style beef (wall menu) - the beef was slightly crispy, coated with a tasty sauce and stirred fried with bell peppers and onions and served with broccoli. Very tasty and tender beef dish. Seafood with snow peas and mushrooms - shrimp and scallops were stirred fried with several types of mushrooms, snow peas and black fungus. Seafood was not overcooked. Good flavor. Pork patty with salted fish - a comfort dish. Pork was moist. Wished there was more salty fish. Chinese broccoli - blanched and drizzled with oyster sauce. Hand pulled noodles with peanuts and lotus root - the waiter brought this complementary dish to us. Loved the noodles, but the topping was unusual. It was sort of bland too. Grateful it was comp. The meal came with a red bean dessert, which was pretty good. The restaurant had three other tables while we dined. Service was good and the food was pretty good. The two I like the best came off the Chinese menu on the wall. Good neighborhood restaurant with very clean restrooms.

Food Is L.

Yelp
This is a Chinese restaurant that's been around for a long time. Lunches for $10-$15 is a good deal. The salt and pepper pork chop is pretty fluffy and meaty compared to other places that's ppunded to flat. Don't expect high end restaurant customer service, it's not a high end price meal. People are easy going, regular hard working people in the neighborhood, like you and me. Lots of choices, prices won't break your wallet and tastes good.
google avatar

Wing L.

Yelp
If you're coming here for a good deal, you've come to the right place! It's increasingly hard to find Chinese food that's UNDER $10 a plate but here we are!... Most places are usually in the $15 price range. They have a very extensive menu...but if you like pork, the salt and pepper pork is delicious! My favorite thing on their menu! It's crispy pieces of pork that's cooked perfectly and well flavored! I also got the beef chow fun which is also good but could use a lil more seasoning....but tastes so good with chili oil! I wish I took pictures of my food but I was too hungry and inhaled it in 30 seconds. I'll be back here for a cheap meal if I'm ever back in the area!

Yelp
Good food, good service and never crowded. It's a neighborhood gem and survived pandemic. I definitely recommend!

Yelp
Went there yesterday and ordered few dishes. After got home kind of disappointed. Pork belly is so thin cut. Not like when you eat at the restaurant and also the shanghai noodle has no taste. I usually eat at this restaurant and really enjoy it. But now after order to go kind of thinking maybe look for a different restaurant

Yelp
This place was SO GOOD. We were stranded on the block with a dead battery and an hour wait for AAA, so we stopped in here for dinner. The prices were suspiciously cheap, & yelp reviews weren't looking so hot. I was ready for some shitty food, basically. We ordered the Mandarin set, which is $16 per person for hot & sour soup, dumplings, mongolian beef, general tsos chicken, & chicken fried rice. I assumed it was tiny portions of gross food, but I was so wrong. The soup was HUGE and so so so tasty, just the right amount of spice to make me sweat a little bit. The dumplings were soft & juicy. The star was definitely the general tso's chicken, which was so crispy & delicious. The pieces are pounded flat so it's not those big globs of fatty chicken. The chicken fried rice was awesome, I don't even love fried rice that much but this was awesome. My partner, who doesn't even like chinese food, couldn't stop raving about this rice. The mongolian beef was good, not life changing, but decent! And they give you tea & peanuts like the places back east. We have tons of leftovers in the fridge now and I woke up thinking about them, so instead I'm writing a yelp review. This is the best chinese food I've had since leaving new york. It's that good.

Apple V.

Yelp
I just went yesterday and realized that the soup was over charged compared to what my friend just paid about a few days ago. Also they charged the tax at 9.26% (SF should be 8.625%) and the tips was calculated included the tax. It should be calculated before tax. So they overcharged me. I treated this as paying them extra tips. But just don't like that dishonest calculation. Don't trick the customers, they will find out.

Yelp
This restaurant's advertised prices are misleading. I ordered economy family meals as $26.95 says on the menu, but when the guy calculated, he just wrote $27 on the check, did the same thing with the other item I ordered. Food is not that great, I will not come back again.

Yelp
I have taken out food from this restaurant on the weekends. It's nice to try different dishes from a large selection of the menu. The lobster noodles on the photograph are delicious and look wonderful!

Yelp
Chinese restaurants get such a bad rep. Unfair, but typical restaurant stereotype is how it is. However, as un-kept and old as it looks from the outside, the food is pretty legit. I've come here on multiple occasions now that I think this place finally deserves some Fifi love. It's a great family restaurant and it's nice to see get together dinners held. Whether you're in for a simple weekly dinner or a family reunion, the food ain't bad. For a typical dish, they cook it well. Served to your table hot from the fresh and with enough "wok heat" as we like to say it. The portions are great for family style with enough to doggy bag. They also have seafood, too! Crab, lobster, shrimp, fish, etc etc. The best part is that the price ain't hyped up either. It's at a reasonable price that probably costs you about the same as if you were to buy and cook at home yourself. Side story: For my dad's early birthday dinner, we ordered a 5.5lb Alaskan King Crab at the price of $25/lb. Now, $25/lb might make you go O_____O, but really, it's a lot less than other places. All I can say was that dish was finger licking tasty. Literally. I will usually avoid Chinese restaurants, but there's something about this place that I feel okay coming. Perhaps the food seems true to its Chinese roots. Or maybe it's just the best bang for your buck.

Yelp
If i could give 0 stars I would... This establishment the food is not bad typical chinese family style, waiters are nice. I've come to this establishment quite often with friends and family so I can say that im a regular. Prices are decent and I grew up eating these types of meals. I usually do not write negative reviews but this one goes off the top. Its a typical night eating with my girlfriend and other friend everything is going well, were having a good time eating food drinking a beer. Then the bill comes. Everything was correct and generally i am a generous tipper, The bill comes out to $98 and some change. I Throw down $120 and sit there packing up the leftovers and finishing my bill, 5 mins of still waiting for my change i grow tiresome and asked the restaurant owner hey can i get my change back? she looks at me confused and im like we clearly paid overly to expect some change back. Waiter pulls me to the side hey its ok i will get you your change. Owner still looks confused, Like what in her right mind does she automatcially think im tipping $22 out of a $98 bill?? crazy much will not be returning to this establishment and i warn you also so you do not get ripped off by these people. They will sell you dead seafood for the high also if they can get the slip.

Yelp
Really bland Singapore curry rice noodles and seafood fried rice. Prices are cheap and portions were big, but I'd rather they charge more for tastier food. That said, when I've been there on other occasions with my parents and ordered their one fish two dishes, squab, and double boiled soup, it was delicious.

Yelp
I've been coming here for years and this is always the spot for hubs' grandparents birthday dinners. The place is a bit cramped and the bathrooms are rather gross but the food is good. The set menu includes the cold platter, chicken, veggie dishes, soup and noodles. I love their noodles which are dry (meaning no sauce, not dehydrated) but pack flavor. Either that or I just love noodles. I would say both. Parking around the neighborhood is rather challenging but keep circling. Something will open up.

Yelp
Not a palace exactly. But the ears here are cheap And no roach approached me as the health cleanliness warnings did pop up on Yelp. Service is horrible here waiting for my food 40 minutes. When the food came it was sub par. Only thing good here was my clay pot chicken with eggplant and chicken with salted fish. Potsticker was low quality and greasy. Black cod was rushed and cold at center for 1/2 of the order. Getting a simple box was also a non event... Sigh

Yelp
This used to be our go-to Chinese restaurant when my mom lived in the City. Sadly, since she moved away several years ago, we seldom get a chance to visit. However, when the SO and I walked in we were greeted with recognition and smiles. The server (Waylan) even remembered what we used to order! (Whaaaat?) I had the usual (unusual) Vegetable Egg Foo Yung made with egg whites only and the SO ordered Pepper Steak. We split a bowl of BBQ pork won ton soup and steamed white rice. Kenny (the boss) produced a plate of Shrimp Stuffed Eggplant for us to try (on the house) and we asked for an order of Chinese Chicken Salad to take home. The Egg Foo Yung made with egg whites was fantastic as always. Most restaurants won't attempt it, it's too hard to make. The SO ate the Pepper Steak with his eyes closed he was so happy. He said it was tender, flavorful and better than any place else. The Shrimp Stuffed Eggplant was amazing! Kenny said it was new and had a Thai style sauce; a little hot, a little sweet. Absolutely delicious. We had been jonesing for the Superior Won Ton soup; the broth is delicate, yet flavorful, the won tons are a decent size (made with lots of shrimp) and we love the baby bok choy and slices of charsiu. Chinese Chicken Salad to go? After a lunch like that you want something light for dinner. Crunchy, tangy and full of tender pieces of chicken, yummy! For a clean, affordable, SF neighborhood restaurant serving delicious Chinese food this is the place to come. Thanks to Kenny, Waylan and the rest of the Superior Palace staff for the spectacular meal and the warm welcome. We'll be back!

Yelp
Delicious!! As a party of seven, we got to try a great variety of the dishes here. The portions are pretty large, so coming in a big group is the only way to try a lot on the menu. Pretty much the whole menu is under $10 (excluding the seafood specialties), and the portions are huge. I saw the table next to us ordered some kind of saucy entree over rice, and I could swear that could feed a person for a good 5 meals. -----FOOD----- We started with a complimentary shredded lettuce and peanut chicken salad that I believe is served upon request. They gave us a generous portion enough for all of us, with a lightly sweet and savory dressing. Really refreshing and well executed for a simple salad. We ordered mostly based off the server's recommendations, which included their renowned seafood specialties: 石九公 fish two ways (live fish made into a soup and a stir fry) and boiled 珊瑚虾 (the texture of this shrimp meat is better than lobster). We also had 清蒸牛栏汤 (super tender beef in a light soup reminiscent of pho broth), 金沙南瓜 (fried salted egg yolk battered pumpkin), honey chicken wings (these are AMAZING) mixed mushroom stir fry, stir fried pea sprouts, and probably more that I can't remember. Everything was really good, but I'd say the beef and the wings are must orders. Best wings EVER and I can't believe I'm recommending wings at a Chinese restaurant. Trust me, the skin is so crispy and sweet and the inside so juicy and perfectly tender. -----INTERIOR----- The place got quite busy at lunch time and the dining space is cramped in the side room. Three tables for large parties and the chairs are arranged so that you're pretty much back to back with the person at the next table. -----SERVICE----- I usually expect subpar service at Chinese restaurants, so I was pleasantly surprised by our courteous waiters. Our server came by to help switch our dirty plates halfway through the meal, and helped us clear our finished dishes each time a new dish was brought.

Yelp
Ate here with wife and ordered the BBQ pork egg foo young for 12 bucks and did not see the meat except for bits of red. Total rip off place. Spending my money elsewhere next time. Told the lady boss but she just did not care. Furthermore, the fried fish was so over cooked that the fish became tasteless and more like sawdust. Most likely it was precooked and was refried. Terrible service too, cause they will just bring out the food and disappear. Ee use be regular customer but this has changed our status.

Yelp
Decent Chinese restaurant. Quick service, reliable taste, and reasonable price. I came here with my wife and a 2-year-old baby on Thanksgiving. We ordered deep fried prawns, a house special chow mien, and a seafood over fried rice. The prawns were crunchy though the dipping source was little dull. Chow mien is tasty but the noodle portion is too large. Same problem for fried rice. Too much rice and too little seafood. Yet overall it is a decent place worth visiting if you are in the area.

Yelp
Came here for my girlfriend's Chinese New Years dinner with her huge family. The good thing is that they can accommodate a large group. Other people wrote that it can get buys here at times, but the time that I came was not that busy. It does not look like the most cleanest of places, but what do you expect from a super Chinese place. The food tastes good, but I'm sure it's heavily salted and possibly even MSG'd.

Yelp
Cheap, tasty food. Tables felt kinda sticky. Service was quick enough. Big variety on the menu. Water tasted weird.

Yelp
I just ordered take out and they were so happy to have my order! Come on, folks! Support your local restaurants! My favorite is bitter melon rock cod with black bean sauce chow fun (thick rice noodles). If you ask for gravy it looks like my picture. If you ask for dry fried there is no gravy. The food is what we grew up eating as native Chinese -Americans. I have had celebrations here and I have come here with family and friends. The food is not fancy but it is good and plentiful. The waiters are friendly and kind. You can order fresh seafood if you want. And you can order preset menus with multiple dishes. But I always get this dish: ). Tonite some of the fish was not as fresh as it normally is and the bitter melon was sliced thinner than usual, but this is Saturday after a shelter-at-home week with hardly any business, so what do you expect? It was still delicious. I hope their take out business flourishes and that they survive these epic times.

Yelp
I've come to this place at least 10 times. It's still my go to place even after I moved to the South Bay. The best dishes here are: -salted eggs on fried pumpkin (way better than a lot of the South Bay restaurants that also offer the same dish but much pricier) -sweet and sour pork chops, also hands down the best. Thin layer of crisp with tender meat inside, sauce is a bit sweet but just right for this dish -their sizzling beef strips are very well done though not the best presentation as it comes out being covered by a sheet of napkin... But the taste is good and priced well like 12.95 , whereas other places would charge 18.95 for a smaller portion Service is good and genuine. They also serve the house soup for free and sometimes add in sweet red bean soup or fruits at the end. They also just renovated their bathroom lol Their English isn't the best so if you don't speak Cantonese or Chinese just be patient. There are reviews about how they mischarged and stuff but i never had this problem.

Yelp
OK, So, the terms "Excellent Attentive Service" and "Ethnic Chinese Dining" really do not marry well together. That said, Superior Palace offers good/very good food with brisk, indifferent, and, at times, chaotic service. During peak times, the noise level in here can become deafening, dishes are delivered to wrong tables, and the wait for a table can be long. In spite of that, we really feel the seafood here is better quality, has greater variety, and costs less than Mayflower Seafood located not far away. The trick is to come here during the "off" times (before 12 noon, after 1:30 PM, before 6:00 PM, and after 8:30 PM). The best bets at Superior Palace are the fresh fish (the holding tanks really do need to be cleaned more often), crab, prawns, clams, yummy duck (try the one in bbq sauce), stir fried Chinese greens, and ooodles of noodles!

Yelp
Tasty dishes, value for your money and a great variety of offerings: from home style dishes & familiar Cantonese daily fare like chow mein, fried rice, to banquet offerings. there are set menus for family style meals and banquets. Friendly service, generous home style soup with meals.

Yelp
With high hopes and a cheery Chinese New Year attitude, my family and I decided to pick up an order of fried rice for my grandma. This was always one of her favorite Chinese restaurants by her house and she was a frequent visitor. However, over the past few months we have noticed that the prices are changing depending on whom you pick up orders from. Instead of the normal $10.00 price for an order of scallop fried rice, the price this time was $14.00. I asked if the prices went up, the cashier replied no. Please keep your prices consistent, instead of changing prices based on the customer.

Yelp
Now I'm all for not judging a restaurant because sometimes they make the most bomb ass food even if they aren't up to par. My fam and I came here last night per the recommendation of my uncle, so I didn't even yelp this place. The spread was great. We had peking duck baos, fried sticky rice, yummy cooked veggies, delicious eggplant dish, etc. It was a great way to start off the new year. With those new years resolutions, a girl can't help but be drawn to their complimentary Chinese chicken salad. Load it up I said, munching away happily... Yeah I didn't wake up so happy. You can tell my stomach to stop bloating, cramping and help haul my ass off the bathroom floor. Now I don't need to go into other details about how food poisoning works. But eat here at your own risk. I felt obliged to be a cautionary tale to unsuspecting custo- .... sorry had to run to the bathroom.

Yelp
I miss Hong Kong. This place reminds me of a very Hong Kong/Cantonese style, big family dinner restaurant. I love the atmosphere. It's hectic and busy. The food is delicious. Their seafood is excellent and their chicken is very yummy. Everything on their menu is good - I have no complaints. The service is pretty good. They take our plates away about 3 times during the meal and they are very attentive. I love this place!

Yelp
Decent place for Chinese food. It's close to my brother's place so it's convenient. In a city known for its authentic Chinese food, I wouldn't put this near the top of the charts. The banquet dinner is pretty good, though. It had pretty much everything: Honey walnut shrimp, fish, lobster, noodles (which were my favorite dish), vegetables, soup. It's a lot of food designed to feed big groups of people.
