The 20 Best Restaurants In Cleveland

"If a restaurant calls itself Superior Pho, they have some pretty high expectations to live up to. Turns out, this is indeed the best pho in town, plus they have some great appetizers and rice noodle dishes. Their bone broth is simmered for 24 hours and is a secret family recipe passed down between generations—the owner has even been known to throw out an entire vat if it doesn’t meet his standards. Come here for a quick lunch of noodles, then pack up a bánh mì for dinner. To find this place, enter through Golden Plaza, a nondescript mini-mall, where you can take advantage of free parking and grab a coconut cream bun at Koko Bakery for dessert." - kate bigam kaput

느끼한거 말고? 월림국수는 여기가 최고입니다! Looks run down and sketchy on the outside but the food is on point. Open Sunday but closed Monday, same place as 하안식당

It’s cute inside, and the food was fantastic. Pho here is delicious- the broth was flavorful and clean. There are many authentic Vietnamese dishes to try other than pho. There were lots of Vietnamese people eating here when we visited which is a good sign. I appreciated the gluten free options being labeled throughout the menu. Only complaint is they close early… they stop taking orders at 7:50pm.

Google
Solid food! The pho (i got the bo vien) itself was honestly technically perfect-- wonderfully clear brother, a good beefy flavor, I could taste the sugar in it, and there was the undertone of the herbs and spices beneath. I think my only gripe was that I personally like my broth a touch more fatty-- it was missing just a little more of that remaining oily undertone I usually get with pho! My partner's bun thit nuong was pretty good, standard according to them. Meat was grilled nicely, could taste the smoke though the marinade could've used a bit more sweetness. It was nutty, the amount of veggies were perfect, and the portion of meat was generous. The fish sauce served with the bun and my cha gio was pretty decent! Still prefer Huong's in Columbus (or my mom's lol), this one here needed a fishier flavor and might have been diluted with a little too much water. The chili sauce added to the fish sauce kinda carried it. Staff was efficient but friendly, and although the restaurant was bustling the food came out fast and table turnover was rapid. You definitely have to go out of your way to find it and the interior itself was a little dim and lackluster, but I certainly wasn't disappointed-- good food is good food.

Google
Came here because the photos looked great and ordered my usual item for all Vietnamese restaurants: Bún Bò Huê. Of course it turned out perfect, along with the spring rolls. Also the place seemed busy at the time, but enjoyed the time. Definitely worth it.

Google
My first time at superior pho. I asked my daughter what is the best pho she had a this place was hands down her favorite and now mine. I had the beef curry, the flavor profile was amazing, I could not have asked for anything better. The beef was so tender, the curry was amazing. I absolutely loved it. My husband had their beef stew special and he ate the entire bowl. Their portions was perfect and the appetizer shrimp cabbage salad was so good. Can’t wait to go back and try something different.

Google
Good food and drinks, but even better service! This restaurant is small and tight, but that doesn’t stop the staff from going above and beyond to greet and meet your needs as soon as you walk in! 10/10

Google
I always stop here for super delicious Vietnamese Sandwich. I love fresh bread and tasty chicken. The cashier kids are super polite and cook is fast. I left some menu options for some idea. I could not take photo because too bussy inside like always.

Google
I visited this restaurant during my trip to Cleveland USA after reading some reviews. I ordered menu #12, and it was a satisfying meal. The friendly staff made the experience even more enjoyable.

Google
Pho and fish sauce wings were excellent. Boba tea was great as well. Banh mi could be a little bigger.

Yelp
Has it really been 13 years since my first visit? Hard to believe. Chris continues to have the highest standards, putting only the best Vietnamee food around in front of his customers. Seasonal specials are great and there are plenty of old standbys as well. If I'm anywhere nearby at lunchtime, you'll find me at Superior Pho!

Yelp
I like to try different Vietnamese food spots while I'm traveling. Ordered through UberEats so pho broth was a little lukewarm upon arrival but not a problem. Broth lacks depth and could use a little bit more flavor. My issue is with the banh mi sandwiches, paid extra for extra toppings which did not come on the sandwich and was pretty stale. Read that this was a comment occurance within other orders as well. Would not recommend the tofu banh mi as it is just fried tofu with no extra seasoning so it was super hard and bland.
google avatar

Cliff L.

Yelp
One of my favorite places to eat. The owner Chris and his wife are amazing and they have the art of Pho, down to a science, literally, his wife is a chemical engineer. Food is always good no matter what time of year or time of day. The new homemade teas are really good too. The pork chop is to die for and the spring rolls are delicious. But can't go to Pho without having Pho 10/10

Yelp
Ordered take out Bun Bo Hue the other day, asked for extra Thai chilies cause I love it spicy, but when I got home to reheat soup discovered I didn't get any Thai chilies at all, very disappointing! As seen in the receipt my order was taken accurately, but the kitchen missed that request obviously. Pretty sure I was charged for the extra chilies I didn't receive as well!

Yelp
Came here on a rainy day in NE Ohio. Was looking for a hot bowl of noodle soup, and Superior Pho did not disappoint. The broth was flavorful, maybe a bit on the heavier side. The X-Large size had lots of food, and was worth it for $17. Service was alright. Pho is usually pretty quick, and the waiters managed well for pretty much a full restaurant. Only complaint is the door in the second room slamming shut behind me every time an employee came through. Hard to keep a conversation with this slamming every minute.

Yelp
I wouldn't have known about this spot if it wasn't for yelp. This place is literally a hole in the wall space in a bigger complex with other hole in the wall eateries. I saw that there was China/ Asia Town here so had to check that out. It wasn't anything like I had expected. For the pho spot it was rated as the best in Cleveland and probably Ohio. We ordered an appetizer but that never came but we were still charged for it. Had to correct that on the bill and wait for the refund. I got the #4 off the Pho section. It had tendon and with eye round steak. I'm glad they gave all the different things you put inside it. I wasn't that impressed with the broth as it tasted watered down and the noodles were stuck together. The service was good except for when they forgot that one item. I noticed how the manager always had to direct the servers on where to go and what to do which wasn't good. They just have to work on their broth, spreading out the noodles and attention to detail when dealing with their customers.

Yelp
Ate here today with my parents and sister to try this place out for lunch and dinner. We had definitely brought different kinds of pho to eat individually to at least satisfy our taste. It was definitely good and delicious. The service there was also attentive. Finally, I will come back again next time when I visit Cleveland.

Yelp
To start with the negatives: I was a little sad that they don't have any vegetarian or vegan pho options (all of them are beef broth based). I ordered off the limited vegetarian menu which, to their credit, is labelled very clearly. My tofu/yellow curry dish, while flavorful, wasn't very sumptuous and left something to be desired for 14+ dollars. BUT I did really enjoy my Vietnamese iced coffee, the super friendly service and general hole in the wall vibe, and my friend was satisfied with their beef/brisket pho. All in all, I left Superior Pho content, although vegetarians itching for their pho fix should look elsewhere.
google avatar

Zi D.

Yelp
I think if you're in Cleveland and craving Pho, this place will fill that craving. However I felt that the broth could have used just a little more depth. Service was quick and efficient.
google avatar

Kit C.

Yelp
They're not lying when they (the award) says they're one of the top pho place in the US! The broth was light and super flavorful. They give a great amount of eye round steak and they're so tender and fresh! I absolutely LOVE their coffee boba!! We came back two days in a row to get the coffee. I wanted to come here on new year night before I leave the city but they were closed for the holiday! I'll come here every time I'm in the city!
google avatar

Marjorie C.

Yelp
The food was delicious--although the pho broth could've had a bit more flavor. Summer rolls and dipping sauce were excellent. The wait staff were just bordering on surly, though. No pleasantries, no smile or thanks for eating there. Gruff. We like to support family businesses and stay away from chains as much as possible, and usually we find that the people are appreciative and kind.

Yelp
Small space, simple menu, fantastic food. I love the Banh Mi/Pho combo. Perfect size. Service is the same. Small staff, simple service but clean and polite. It all fits.
google avatar

Jada C.

Yelp
This is my go too pho spot. The pho never disappoints, it's delicious and I recommend to anyone who's never or have had pho. The service is super fast and they're usually all nice. It's quiet inside and relaxing. It's a pretty popular Pho spot in my opinion, and it does get busy especially on Sundays.

Katey W.

Yelp
I've been here twice now and I will continue to come back. The hospitality is just as good as their food.

Yelp
Finally...after a long dry spell of bad pho through the mid west we found this gem in Cleveland. Pho broth was on point & ice coffee devine. Enjoyed everything here & service was great.

Yelp
Yummy Pho! the broth is complex and amazing. large portions. don't be afraid to order the small it's big! marinated pork summer rolls are so good!

Yelp
Came here a few times. My first time was pretty disappointing. I came here originally because it was recommended this was the best Pho spot. I been to Superior, Number One Pho, and Lee for Pho. These are within fives apart from each other. Lee has the best broth. Most likely all the chicken bouillon or msg they put in their broth. Rate them number 1. Number One Pho get the number two spot. Great all around Pho. Not a fan of their coffee, seems like they made it in the coffee pot. Number three spot is Superior Pho. Why you asked they are third place? Keep in mind there's more Pho places around the area. But these are my top 3. The reason is the broth is not on hit (bland), wilted bean sprout, and no dipping plate. The other spots around the area do not have any of these issues. Love to see this spot step it up because they are pretty authentic.
google avatar

Yelp
Apparently there is a shortage of sriracha so there was not a bottle in the place. Soup came out better than warm but not piping hot. Meat was fatty compared to the other times I've had this dish. Broth was just fair in flavor. I've had better at this location
google avatar

Lorraine R.

Yelp
The food is delicious. We had summer and spring rolls to start. I preferred the spring roll over the other but both were good. We both had the pho. Broth was great and veggies fresh. Service was good and food came out really quick.Place was clean and plenty of places to sit. Definitely will return and try some other things on the menu.

Yelp
Superior pho used to be my go-to Cleveland pho spot. It harbors many accolades with various restaurant awards, but the place was absolutely packed with a line spilling out the door two days after Xmas, which was a Wednesday lunch. It took us like 20 min to be seated and it was kind of chaos. Every other time it has been more than enough seating. My go-tos: 1) spring rolls with shrimp 2/5 - it was like 90% vermicelli noodles lol 2) #8 pho 4/5 - delicious pho and broth! Note that larger in size just means more noodles I'm relatively disappointed by the holiday rush... when we asked for utensils the server told us to REACH TO THE OCCUPIED TABLE NEXT TO US and take their utensils. How awkward.
google avatar

Nicole S.

Yelp
The tofu bah mi is phenomenal!! My husband loved his first pho!! The wait wasn't too bad but I wouldn't go back at lunch time, I was late getting back.
google avatar

Stephanie W.

Yelp
This is a place people at my grad school (CWRU) always mentioned as having amazing pho. I will say, it certainly does taste authentic and you get a HUGE bowl of pho for a very reasonable price here! I will give 4/5 stars because there wasn't anything particularly "outstanding" about the pho, but it is quite good. The inside is also not anything fancy, but i would recommend dining in if you go do you can eat the pho fresh (the noodles are better). Overall if I went back to Cleveland and wanted pho I would certainly come here to satisfy the craving.

Yelp
This restaurant was recommended by a friend. Once seated a server brought water and menus. Once order was taken only a few moments before food arrived. Nice family atmosphere.

Yelp
It's the perfect combo...an unassuming, hard to find, behind a nondescript building type of place that's a local favorite and has hearty delicious Vietnamese cuisine. After getting lost the first time, here's my tip: from Superior Ave, turn south on 31st (by the big brick building) and turn right into the parking lot. Then you can't miss the Superior Pho sign and entrance. I came with a group of friends for a recovery meal to recharge ourselves after a night out. We started with shrimp spring rolls to share, which were very fresh, light, and packed with filling. For my main meal, I ordered a small 13. Pho Ga (Chicken). You have a choice of small or large, and tbh the small is a pretty decent size! There's hoisin and Sriracha at the table if you want some added flavor, and the pho comes with a side of bean sprouts, jalapeño, and lime. We all enjoyed our meals and definitely felt rejuvenated afterwards. Service was great, even when it got super busy in the late morning when the restaurant was packed! We paid up front, and everything was very easy. All the staff members were friendly and attentive. Looking forward to next time already!

Yaz A.

Yelp
I've read online that superior pho is one of the best pho places out there! When we walked in, it was super fast service. We were seated and handed menus pretty quickly. The waitress answered our questions on what the most popular dishes were, which definitely helped with ordering. My friend ordered the fully meat pho, and she said the flavor and bowl was a whole was absolutely delicious! Additionally, the portion sizes were huge which was greatly appreciated and she was given an appropriate spoon for the soup. I ordered the sweet and sour chicken. The portion was huge as well, although there was very minimal rice in comparison to how much food was on the plate. The meal wasn't too bad. Although, one thing that bothered me was the constant amount of gnats/fruit flies flying around our table/food. It concerns me as to why and how much is flying elsewhere. So, overall it was an average experience. If the fruit fly experience improves, then things would be a little better.

Yelp
Yum!!! Delicious w pho. Tucked away in a shady area of their Asian town. Not the easiest to find. It was in a run down small mall looking place. Surrounded by lots of stores that were maybe closed? Next to a neighborhood. At first we were like maybeeee we shouldn't go here. But their small parking lot was filled and we saw a bunch of people go in and out. So we decided to give it a try! So glad we did, def hit the spot. Service seemed a little chaotic but all was good. We got what we ordered.

Dookie W.

Yelp
Service was A+ Taste wise, not one of the best pho spots in USA....C'Mon now. More realistically it's top 1000th pho joint in USA. Broth was not beefy and did not have a nice mouthfeel/aroma. Beef slices were nice and thin but perhaps not even Select grade beef. Texture seemed as though it was frozen then sliced. Enjoyed the tripe. Loved the option of the Meal Combos. We each got the small pho, cabbage salad, roll and soda or tea. Ordered a single and double cafe sua da. Coffee was legit strong and tasty. Rolls were really not Viet "salad" rolls. No lettuce, cucumber, sprouts. Only rice vermicelli and minimal protein + herbs. To sum it up, the food was Viet-ish.

Yelp
Sooooo good. I stopped by for a quick lunch with my coworkers; we were in and out in well under an hour. The service is quick and the interior is modest and homey. The pho broth is super flavorful and peppery. The prices are super reasonable as well. Probably the best pho I've had in Cleveland. Will definitely be back.
google avatar

F. L.

Yelp
I found the pho here to be perfectly average and middle-of-the-road. It was tasty, the meat seemed fresh enough, the tripe was cut well, and the broth was good, but it also didn't blow me away. There's no competition to New Orleans or Portland, but it's a solid choice.
google avatar

Yelp
Best Pho in town. Enough said. The rest of this review is just to accommodate the minimum number of characters ;). Try this place

Yelp
I like to think of myself as a bit of a pho fanatic. After scouring Reddit for recommendations for the "best pho in Cleveland," I settled on trying out Superior Pho for the first time. This place is the epitome of a "hole in the wall" - it is off to the side in a building with other businesses with nearly no signage outside. I felt like I was walking into a secret society or a speakeasy! How fun! We were seated fairly quickly upon arrival. Soon after we were seated, other groups were filling up the rest of the few tables available. Service for drinks and food was prompt and the server was friendly and accommodating. I ordered the beef tripe pho with half noodle and my sister ordered vegetarian pho. Now for my review of the food! Reddit was right - the pho was by far the best I have tried in Cleveland. Full of flavor and generously filled with meat. The basil and sprouts were plentiful and fresh and the dish was filling. I highly recommend this popular little place!
google avatar

Courtni B.

Yelp
superior pho really is the best. you do pay for takeout containers if you don't finish at the table so beware if that when you order. you can tell the owners take pride in this place. i really loved the brisket pho - amazing broth
google avatar

Pira K.

Yelp
Superior Pho is my favorite pho restaurant in Cleveland! Came here on a Thursday evening and we were seated quickly! The worker told us to seat ourselves so we sat down at an empty table. Thankfully it was pretty slow, but on weekends it is usually packed! We ordered summer rolls, banh mi and pho. I ordered the Pho Tai Nam which had well done flank and eye round steak. Broth was warm and flavorful, and they always give a side of jalapenos, bean sprouts, basil and lime to add to the pho. On the table they also have Sriracha and Hoisin sauce as condiments. Service can be iffy depending on how busy the resturaunt is, and you always pay your bill at the counter! Don't wait for Pro Tip: The waiter will drop your receipt off at the table, and once you're done eating, head up to the counter and pay! They're not a typical sit-down restaurant where they'll take your card. And if you're splitting the bill, just let the cashier know what food you ordered and they'll charge you for what you got!
google avatar

Ailin J.

Yelp
Came her on a Wednesday cold night when I was craving something soothing and the pho hit the spot! Spot was surprisingly busy for a weekday and there was constant people coming in and out. I ordered the combination with a sandwich and large pho. Tbh I couldn't tell the difference that much between a large and regular sized pho for those who can't decide between the two. Food came in a decent time period. Pho Tai Chin Broth was absolutely delicious!!!!! So darn good and finished the entire bowl without meaning to. It tasted authentic and was the perfect balance of saltiness. Bursted with flavor! Noodles I wish were a little bit softer but that could be personal preference and vary day by day depending on the cook time. Bahn mi sandwich had a great crunch and meat had a great sweet savory balance. Friend enjoyed that there was a vegetarian option 3V and there was a lot of noodles so great portion size! Would definitely return!

Yelp
Heard much about this place and was finally able to try it last week. Came here on a date with someone who never tried pho before. They do bubble tea smoothies in many different flavors too. I had a can of Vietnamese soy milk. Yum. I ordered a small pho but also a Bún thịt nướng even though I should have gotten the version with a crispy spring roll! Both tasted great and service was REALLY, impressively fast. The meat was juicy and grilled well. The veggies were crisp and vibrant. My date slurped all of his broth and declared it the best broth ever. So there is parking out front and back but the location of this place is super sketch. It's in this creepy mini mall with construction and abandoned spaces. The seating in the inner room was a bit gloomy and smelled musty. However, I can attribute this to their divey atmosphere.

Yelp
Stopped by at #cleveland China town & got the chance to try delicious #pho Pho broth was flavorful. Meat was fresh. We tried vermicelli noodle, broken rice and bahn mi too. Everything was amazing. Yelp
Great spot with excellent service. Staff was very attentive and food came out fresh and fast. The restaurant had a great vibe with beautiful decor and plenty of seating. It gave you a true downtown feeling. I ordered my fave Pho dish which is sautéed shrimp with vermicelli noodles and fish sauce is a must. It was very tasty and I enjoyed every bite.

Yelp
The beginning to every good Sunday starts here. Regardless of how much fun you had Saturday night, there's nothing like a Sunday morning stop at Superior Pho to hit the reset button. To begin, the entrance to the business is on the south side of the building, from the parking lot. After you enter the building, the door is about 15 feet down the hall, on the left hand side. Inside the restaurant, there's two main dining rooms. After you take your seat, someone will be by shortly to take your order. I typically order the meal #3 with a #3 pho and hot tea. This comes with chicken cabbage salad, your choice of spring or summer rolls, and beverage. Almost instantly, your food and drinks will arrive at your table. They'll bring out a platter of limes, jalapeños, sprouts, and Thai basil (as with all leafy herbs remember not only to tear them, but also slap them to release the aromatics). I add them all to my bowl. I also add the table side hoisin and sirracha sauce to give it that extra "reset" ability. Every trip is always amazing, hence why it's been added to the beginning of almost every Sunday funday. Whether you're looking for a good hangover cure, or you're looking to try pho at a Cleveland staple, Superior Pho should definitely be on your to do list.

Quinn G.

Yelp
The food is good. There is no better Pho in the area than this place. My go to for Pho. The service is fast and the price is right.

Yelp
This is the kind if place that makes me love Cleveland!! I was so pleased to find this little quaint resturant! I was in search of Pho near my place of work because I was feeling the winter blahs! This place was a surprise hidden in the back of another! The staff was very attentive and knowledgable !!. I ordered the Pho Ga and coffee bubble tea!! They were both delicious!! The pho was full of flavor. You could smell the nutmeg but it did not overpower at all. Im used to more chicken but was satisfied over all!!.I will definately be back!!
google avatar

Yelp
Difficult to find but worth the visit! A group of 7 of us went at 5:30 on a Saturday and had no issue getting a table. Most of us had spring rolls (tofu for me) and pho (pho ga in my case), although there were a couple of rice orders as well. All the food was well made and tasty, although not quite as good as what I've had in LA before. I will definitely go back to try more things on the menu!
google avatar

Lucy T.

Yelp
This is my favorite pho joint in Cleveland! It's in an unassuming, shady center of a block, but their pho broth is the best I've had here. Any pho 5/5 I always get their pho dac biet and it always delivers. My friends always love their phos too! Their noodles are freshly cooked, their meat is always tender and perfectly thin sliced, and their broth is flavorful, warm and rich. Their pho comes with the classic side of thai basil, bean sprouts, lime and jalapeños and you can add hoisin and siracha if you like but I prefer mine as is. Perfect for a cold day! Goi cuon 4/5 Comes with the classic spicy peanut/hoisin sauce. I dock a point because they can be rolled to be prettier but they're still tasty and fresh. The banh trang is surprisingly thick, especially at the ends, but it holds everything together well. The filling is all great though! Nice appetizer to share between two. The store is a little dingy but the food is excellent and that's all I care about. I'd highly recommend anyone with a pho craving come here!
google avatar

Rebecca K.

Yelp
Superior pho it is not. Their pho tends toward dirty dishwater. It is very watery and has little flavor besides the Sriracha and hoisin you add. That being said...their Bahn mi sandwiches are to die for. You have the heat, the sweet, savoriness and richness and yet it is still light and almost refreshing. Their Bahn mi sandwiches could change your life.

Dee A.

Yelp
Excellent Pho!! My favorite Pho restaurant here in Cleveland. I've tried a few, but this one is by far the best one. Highly recommended!!

Jen F.

Yelp
This place had a great, robust menu with good service. We tried the summer rolls and the pho. Plenty of meat included, tasty broth, and all the condiments you could wish. Beverages: Soda delivered in cans and extensive Thai/boba tea menus.

Yelp
Angelina was just FANTASTIC!! Her service was spectacular and she was very friendly . She has outstanding elbows

Yelp
Pho= 5 star broth. Summer rolls =very good. Bahn mi=disappointing...bread is dry, meat is dry, not a lot of flavor. 2/3 ain't bad but I don't know if it's super worth location (which is not easy to find and not great). Service was good also.
google avatar

Yelp
[Edited] Be cautious if you order takeout! Placed my order on Yelp (which was processed...they sent me an e-mail). When I arrived the restaurant was not only dark--it was padlocked shut (see photo) on the front. So I not only got charged for a meal I couldn't pick up--I also had to drive around looking for another restaurant. [Added] The restaurant called after an hour or so, telling me my order was waiting and the only working entrance is in the rear. They processed a refund so I've increased rating by one "star". This joint really needs to work on messaging--especially a directional sign on the front of the building!

Yelp
This place has been on my list for some time, so I finally snuck in a visit before a Guardians game. Doesn't top other pho in the land, but the food does the job. Ordered a brisket and tripe pho, which came with a platter of bean sprouts, basil, mint, jalapeños, and limes; and a banh mi. Everything tasted good and was served at a reasonable time, but I wished the broth was more flavorful. On the other hand, the signature 7C banh mi lived up to its reputation. From the crunch of the baguette to the sweet meat to the kick from the chilis, the 7C checked off everything right for a banh mi. Aside from the food, the place was a bit shabby. The restroom is located within the complex but outside of the restaurant. Just grab the respective key from the front counter. Also, you pay at the counter post-meal.
