The Best New Brunches in Montreal | Eater Montreal

"This Hochelaga-based hybrid café and wine bar is open as early as 9 a.m. throughout the weekend, and that means both hair of the dog cocktails and pour-overs are available with a steady menu of sandwiches to eat up: Expect kimchi tamago sandos with jammy eggs, ‘sashimi’ sandwiches of salmon, nori and wasabi mayo, grilled cheese with pulled duck, and more." - JP Karwacki

The Best Cafes in Montreal | Eater Montreal

"This Hochelaga newcomer is swinging big out of the gate, with its own branded beans (roasted by Zab) and a delectable assortment of small sandwiches that are great for sharing. Bonus: a decent selection of wines, ciders, and beers are available on draft all day long." - Daniel Bromberg

New Café-Meets-Wine-Bar Supernat Lands in Montreal’s Hochelaga-Maisonneuve | Eater Montreal

"Tucked a couple of blocks south of Promenade Ontario across from Théâtre Denise-Pelletier and beside Parc Morgan, this hybrid café-meets-wine-bar opened on May 25 by partners Paul Tran and Olivier Trudeau and aims to be a low-key, eco-conscious hangout with wine served on tap. With 12 taps behind a central island counter—wines mainly European for now and selected by sommelier Sydney Auger—Supernat uses stainless-steel kegs to reduce waste and avoid oxidation, and also offers beer and cider from neighbours Avant-Garde and Fleuri. Daytime service focuses on coffee made with beans from local roaster Zab (espresso standards plus pour-over) and lattes made with matcha and hojicha, alongside snacks like a tamago sando with kimchi from Cham! k.cuisine, cookies from Trudeau’s girlfriend, and pâté chaud from Tran’s mom. Evenings introduce Asian-influenced sandwiches developed with chef Mathieu Bourdages—barbecue pork bánh mì, a salmon sashimi sandwich with wasabi mayo, and three grilled cheeses (one with pulled pecking duck, one with ajitsuke tofu, and one with goat cheese, Asian pear, sesame seeds, and a honey sambal oelek coulis) on Hokkaido milk bread, priced $9–$13. Cocktails by mixologist Maximiliano Vallée Valletta include a Japanese highball with rum, lemongrass and calamansi syrup, an espresso coconut martini, and a Negroni topped with beer foam. Interior work by MRDK preserves some brick walls and a dangling orange light fixture, adds light wooden furniture, minimalist Japanese touches and retro pieces, and there’s a 20-seat terrasse that looks out to the street. The team plans educational events with local roasters and winemakers to highlight overlaps between coffee and wine and to bring a farm-to-table approach to a beverage-focused business; hours are 9 a.m. Wednesdays to Sundays (closing 4 p.m. Wednesdays and Sundays, 10:30 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays, and 7 p.m. Saturdays)." - Valerie Silva

Amazing service, I had the pandan matcha ice latter and I wanted a second one! Not too sweet, it was perfect. As for the food, it was just ok. Would go back for the drinks !!

Google
such a cute place to work/study and take a bite during the day. cute decor & lots of seatings. not the best matcha latte i’ve had and banh mi bbq was on the pricier side but it was delicious (especially the bread) & the portion was pretty big.

I love this place so much! It’s so cute inside and the food is amazing. The coconut sauce cup things are my favourite. They have lots of vegan/vegetarian options so it’s great to go with a group

Cafe by day, wine bar at night. Knew this was the spot for me the second I saw the Nas and Jay Z vinyls on the wall. Wasn't expecting such a delicious Vietnamese sandwich Their only miss was letting that Pitbull "Shots" song play for a quiet early day

Came here for the first time yesterday evening. The drinks had been great and the food as well. The issue I had was the slow service.. we were seated but we waited quite a while before someone served us but the only way this happened was by me flagging someone down. They have a patio outside which is nice although small. I still manage to sit outside with my partner. I would come back in the future.

Google
The best coffees I've ever had is in here, the service is super nice, love their playlist, at one point they played dancehall music! The atmosphere is cool as well. I recommend trying their ube halaya and pandan cookies, they pair so well with coffee!

I ordered Bain Mi with porc and Houjicha muói. I liked the both. It was cozy inside.

Google
One of my absolute neighborhood go-to’s, and I can’t believe more people don’t know about this gem! The food is incredible — they honestly have the best breakfast sandwiches not just in the area, but in all of Montreal. Their iced matcha is hands down the best I’ve ever had in my life. The space itself is beautiful: full of plants, thoughtfully decorated, and the kind of cozy-yet-upscale vibe that makes you want to stay awhile. The service is always friendly and welcoming. We often bring our baby with us, and they always make space for us and treat us so kindly. This place is a 10/10. Amazing food, amazing drinks, amazing atmosphere, and staff who truly care. Definitely recommend!

Yelp
Nice little new spot in Hochelaga Maisonneuve. We had a duck grilled cheese and banh mi bbq pork sandwich with an iced hojicha latte and an iced latte. This is probably by far the best grilled cheese I've ever had. Much garnish was in it and everything was a delicacy. Cant skip the banh mi sandwich also as it was equally good. Hey I'm vietnamese so I know a good banh mi when I see one, trust my tastebuds. East montreal has some crazy good foodie spots and this is a greatly welcomed addition to the neighborhood.
