Italian eatery & wine bar with pasta, burgers, charcuterie

"Running a Carmy lookalike contest on Sunday, April 27 at 2:30 p.m., the event will be hosted by the restaurant’s chef and co-owner, the Instagram-cranky Stephen Werther. The contest came about following his hyper-opinionated post in which he declares the series is "the worst show ever made for television," because, in short, it’s not realistic, "it’s insulting," and "no one in the industry likes The Bear because it doesn't represent us well." A slew of commenters pushed back: "So the panic attack I got watching the first two episodes from having flash backs of my 15 years in that industry was all just in my head. Got it," someone wrote, and another added, "Another white chef to speak for us all." The restaurant appears to be making light of the debate with the event: first prize is $100 and a pack of Marlboro Reds, second prize is $50 and a six-pack of Stella, and Chicago dogs will be on sale for a buck. There was a similar lookalike contest in Chicago based on Jeremy Allen White, who plays Carmy." - Melissa McCart

"Nestled right in the middle of Bleecker Street in the West Village, Suprema Provisions is a go-to dinner spot for anyone looking to feel transported to an Italian trattoria. Inspired by salumerias of Rome, along with the tapas bars of Spain and the sidewalk cafes of Paris, this neighborhood favorite offers small meat and cheese plates, Roman-style pizzas and pastas, delectable main dishes (try the meatballs & bone marrow, thank us later), and an impressive wine and cocktail program led by renowned sommelier Joshua Wesson. Pro tip: They’re known for their burger made with short rib, brisket, Iberico jamon, bacon jam, black garlic sauce, aged cheddar, and roasted tomatoes, all on a brioche bun." - Julia Gómez Kramer
