The D.C. Boba Guide: Where to Find Bubble Tea | Eater DC

"Teas are all brewed to order at this bubble tea shop inside Truxton Circle’s new Supreme BBQ, owned by Jeremy Canlas and his dad, Juan. Unique flavors like cereal milk and halo halo are at the top of the menu as well as the super trendy tiger stripe milk tea, featuring a black sugar syrup. Auntea Boba’s original location sits inside Gigi’s Kitchen in Fort Washington, Md." - Jamie Liu

Truxton Circle Has a New Carryout That Sells Southern Barbecue Next to Boba - Eater DC

"Aunteaboba x Supreme Barbecue officially opened Monday, April 5, at the corner of North Capitol Street and Florida Avenue. Takeout is available from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day at 2 Florida Avenue NE, and Uber Eats delivery is coming soon. The two-piece business sells slow-cooked barbecue like 16-hour brisket, pork ribs, and jerk chicken made with a large smoker now planted inside. Customers can also find jerk ribs that require a one-day notice and huge turkey legs fit for a Renaissance fair. Family feasts ($38-$67) suited for springtime backyard barbecues or tailgating include a mix of meats with sides by the quart. The menu also includes deep-fried catfish, whiting, and tilapia, plus a dozen sides like collard greens, cole slaw, mac and cheese, candied yams, and pork rinds made in-house." - Tierney Plumb

This is a takeout BBQ and bubble tea spot with no dining in option. For $70, I got a half of a jerk chicken, a pound of brisket, a large side of mac and cheese, and small sides of Coleslaw, baked beans, and collard greens. The meats were very good (spicy, tasty chicken and well-smoked brisket that basically melted in your mouth), although a very small part of the brisket was dried out and salty. The sides were good as well, especially the Coleslaw.

I finally got to try this place. Everyone got something different. Ribs & brisket w/collard greens, ribs, smoked chicken & green beans, lastly 1/4 slab of ribs & mac/cheese. Everyone received corn bread. We order extra jerk chicken, Italian sausage & wings. All the chicken was good, ribs were good, brisket was tender, greens were tasty. Everything was good except the rice. It was brick hard & stiff, not good. Overall, I would return but won't order the rice. Try their sauces too.

My friend and I came yesterday before closing. The ribs were dry and the brisket was super dry. They had already closed so we couldn’t go back to try to make things right. She got double ribs and they gave her 4.5 long ribs. I got half ribs and half brisket and they gave me a bunch of dry end ribs. I used to love it haven’t been in 3 years and looked forward to coming all the was from NYC but the meat was dry and salty and we spent about $50. A waste of money for sure I hope the owner sees this. Please make sure your quality is consistent all day. I was so sad I had to throw my food away because we simply couldn’t chew the tough meat even the dog didn’t want it SMH

Ok if you like TX and properly smoked bbq this is not for you. Go elsewhere. This is more North Carolina and fusion. I was not personally happy because I like burnt ends, brisket with the smoke ring and woody taste and massive flavor. But I am giving it four stars because it earns four stars. (Would have been five without the corn bread and chicken problems). The lumpia is fabulous and tastes just like home made. The brisket is juicy and tender even without proper smoking. The wings melt off the bone like they should. The pulled chicken is garbage. Don’t waste your money. The corn bread is packaged and like a little Debbie. That alone gets them one star. Do not order corn bread, do not waste your money. Corn bread is easy to make and a bbq place should be ashamed for buying a mass produced one and selling it. That is disgraceful. Overall it is a good place if you like North Carolina bbq. I don’t but I am obsessing on their lumpia so I’ll likely order again. But I cannot give five stars. The cornbread is a big deal. Same with the chicken. It tastes boiled.

It's the best BBQ I've ever had! I have to admit that the appearance of the food didn't seem the best, and I was a bit disappointed with the purchase, but when I got home and opened the containers, I knew I was about to eat something exceptional. The brisket is incredibly juicy and has an amazing smoky smell; you don't need to add any sauce. The pulled pork is a burst of flavors and has a very good texture. I recommend pairing it with potato salad and coleslaw. Now, it's my favorite place!

My Mac and cheese was microwaved to the point the cheese was hard on top and oil had seperated. The brisket was half fat and tasted gross. I couldn't eat it. Ribs were actually ok/good. Not nearly enough to save the meal

Review for the barbecue. Ordered a 18$ 2 meat combo meal with 1/4 rack (pork) ribs and moist beef brisket, that came with 1 cold water bottle and 1 side of candied yams, and two small sides of sauce. (+) Good quality meats & patient staff. Ribs had a nice smoked crust with tender interior. Beef brisket likewise was good quality. When a couple ahead of me couldn’t decide on what to order, the cashier offered them samples of the beef brisket. (-) Small portions for the price, considering the location (not downtown), even with the Groupon deal. Got 3 and 1/2 bones worth of meat for the 1/4 rack ribs. The meal on the menu said it came with a bottled drink, but failed to mention it would cost 1$ extra for anything else besides a bottled water. For the price of bulk bottled soft drinks, I feel like it should be included in the meal price instead of costing extra. Especially since cups of water normally should be free at a place like this. Maybe that’s normal for a DC location. Candied yams was mediocre. Besides the marshmallows and cinnamon on top, it was soggy and underwhelming, with none of the thin crunchy candied layer that’s in the name. I personally would have preferred it to be sweeter like a dessert (adding more brown sugar and toasting that), instead of tasting like plain steamed sweet potatoes. Also, they changed the menu recently. This means they no longer use older menu pics before today, like the 11-3 lunch specials they used to have, and have increased the menu prices. That’s likely due to recent rising costs.

First time trying and I ordered the ribs. Excellent flavor by themselves, and amazing with the sauce as well! Great portion for the price as well. Can’t wait to try their food again!
