Mark Fuller’s Veggie Burger Spot Closed After Only Five Months - Eater Seattle

"Table was a veggie burger restaurant founded by Mark Fuller and Doug Kawasaki. It struggled with landlord issues and slow sales, leading to its closure after five months of operation from November 2018 to March 24. The restaurant focused on lunch, with a menu centered around a vegetarian burger made from fried mushrooms, eggplant, quinoa, barley, cashews, marmite seasonings, and tamarind, dressed with pickled cucumber, dill, sweet onions, tomato-mayo, American cheese, and iceberg lettuce. Other offerings included a veggie bowl, salad, crushed avocado succotash, and crispy roasted potatoes." - Megan Hill

Mark assisted us in choosing a set of steak knives. He was kindly attentive and expertly informed. Despite our indecisive questions about the options, he subtly reassured us by simplifying the differentiations which in turn obliquely nudged us into the right selection. After he pierced through the clutter of information, he made it easy for us. We are thrilled with our purchase.

I stopped by today to purchase a stainless steel pan after many fail attempts to purchase a nice one. Charles was excellent. He provided me with an explanation of all the sets and explained to me how to properly heat it up, clean it up and even explained to me to hold each of them to make sure it was not to heavy for my wrist. I suffer from chronic wrist pain. He gave me time to look at all the sets and checked up on me to ensure I did not have any follow on questions. I explained to him that I was concerned about the weight of the box since I was walking to the ferry. He explained to me that my items could be shipped for a small fee. Overall it was an amazing experience and I was so thankful to all the staff especially Charles for taking the time to make me feel comfortable with my purchase. I look forward to cooking with my new set. No photo of my purchase as it will be delivered in a few days.

We had a superb experience with Mark on a Sunday morning trip for knives (and other things). Mark was patient and kind and helped us into some great Japanese knives. And served us a darn good espresso. Will return.

Joey helped my husband and I purchase some amazing pans! We didn’t know what we were missing out on and his recommendations were life-changing. He is extremely knowledgable on all of the products we asked about and was helpful in narrowing it down. Nivek answered all of my questions when it came to knives. We knew we wanted to replace our knives because our cheap ones weren’t cutting it for us anymore. We now have a big decision to make and can’t wait to come back to purchase some awesome kitchen knives! Everyone here is so friendly and helpful. We have frequented this location many times over the past year and have always had a great experience.

Had an incredible shopping experience at this location today. I popped in as I havent shopped here in store before and was planning on just doing a quick look. However, one of the sales associate who greeted me kindly offered me a cup of coffee(it was delicious btw). It gave me the energy to end up actually start shopping around the store. Throughout my shopping, multiple associates checked in to see if I had any questions about anything and Charles even came by with a basket when he saw that I had multiple items in my hand. I haven't experienced this kind of attentiveness in a store in a while. I usually shop online but this experience will definitely make me repeat customer!

I've gone to Sur La Table a fair amount and my daughter took classes there, but won't be going back again. I bought a (I thought) nice tangine with a gift certificate, and used it to cook something the same night. Unfortunately I used it on a small open flame, which caused it to crack. I should have read the box better, but when I brought it back I told them honestly what happened and they just told me I was out of luck. Again, I get that I should have used the product better, but considering the eye-watering markups on all their products, I thought maybe they would be nicer about it.

From the moment we walked in, Charles made this a 5 star experience. My son is a chef in the making and it was his first experience in the store. He would have bought everything if he could! The store and products are fabulous and Charles made our experience even more fabulous! Thank you

I am an avid baker and my partner is a home chef. We love browsing cook and bakeware and buying the occasional treat for our kitchen. I have always wanted to go to Sur La Table in Pike, but have never gotten the opportunity. Today we finally had the time and decided to stop in and look around. We weren’t helped for a little while until an older gentleman started talking to us about glass mixing bowls. It was a pleasant and normal interaction. Not a minute later an older lady interrupts to direct us to the clearance section. We weren’t looking at anything specific in that moment, so she clearly wasn’t trying to help us by saving money. And she didn’t even ask if we were looking for something specific, or even said “Can I help you?”. I had never been so wrongly profiled like this before. Was it because I was wearing a T-shirt and jeans? Do I look “poor” to them? Was it because I’m in an interracial relationship? Is it just because we are young? We left the store immediately after that, absolutely fuming at what had just happened. As we left, I turned around and saw that a younger male employee had walked outside the building to watch us leave. We hadn’t even been in the store for 10 minutes. We were discussing our wedding registry and to be treated like trash was shocking. I will never visit this location again, and I honestly hope that the employees involved get some sort of training or talking to because that was unacceptable. Thank you to the gentleman talking to us about the bowls for doing the absolute bare minimum at being a decent person. TL;DR I do not recommend this location of Sur La Table unless you want to be wrongly profiled by a bunch of stuck up white people. Very disappointing. Edit: After reading some previous reviews, it is clear that this has been a problem for a while and I will be contacting corporate. Do better.

Yelp
What a great shop with many quality brands and everything and more for a kitchen and baking needs. So friendly and inviting the store is and staff are super helpful and friendly. Was given a complimentary espresso from one of the demo machines and happily browsed with a nice beverage in hand. Sure place if you need a gift or a kitchen product need.

Yelp
I absolutely love Sur La Table! I have been in Seattle for 7 years, but just recently discovered this awesome store! They have a few locations throughout the Seattle and Greater Seattle area. I absolutely love the vibe of the store. It is somewhat small, but it is very neat, clean, and tidy. The store has a very homey feel to it. The staff are very nice and provide great customer service. They answered all of my questions. We wound up purchasing a gravy boat, pasta server, ceramic knife, rainbow colored whisk, and stainless steel tongs. They are all great quality, and well made. Be warned, their prices are NOT cheap, but what you are paying for is quality over quantity. Also, it is Seattle, so things are more expensive, but Sur La Table is not your basic, but premium level of kitchenware and cookware, so you get what you pay for. I highly recommend Sur La Table for great kitchenware and cookware products!

Yelp
Lots of great kitchen options both US and foreign. Lots of Sur La Table brand products too. Great location near Pike Place Market. They had a lot of great BBQ options with a front display for Father's Day. I'd like to try their brand name BBQ sauces, rubs, and spices. They even offered customers a free espresso from their in store demo in their large coffee maker section. Even had a worker offer the espresso as their circulated to help guests. Take a peek inside. Worth a few minutes for a visit.

Yelp
I placed an order for a wedding gift on June 2. part of the order was delivered. the USPS tracking number I was given for the 2d item was invalid. I spoke with a Sur La Table customer service person yesterday who said they would find out from the vendor where the item was and would contact me today. Having not heard back from this person I called again today. I received the same response. not wanting to go through this again I asked for a refund. I was transferred was on hold and was questioned about the order and told I should see a refund in 5 business days. hopefull this is so. I wanted to purchase from Sur La Table rather than Amazon. A mistake. The wedding is happening next week and Amazon won't take a month and not deliver or tell me there is a problem. Only in store shopping for me with this company from now on. And the message was not included and no indication who sent it.

Yelp
I came to the store looking for a can opener, and this nice guy named Nivek offered me an espresso and helped me out. I also met someone named Chad who greeted me and assisted me with water and getting a kettle. They were amazing!

Yelp
Sur La Table - Translates to 'On The Table' in French - so if you love to eat you need the right equipment. I found some interesting items there that screamed out to me! Cast Iron shrimp grillers and Cast Iron oyster grillers and I bought 2 of each I can't wait to use! It was a great find never seen anything like them before. Grilling BBQ Oysters or BBQ Shrimp with some of my recipes of buttery sauces and spices. Going to be tasty!

Yelp
Got my kitchen knife sharpened which was only $5 and took 10 minutes. Also bought a spoon rest and soup spoons here. The store has everything your kitchen might need and the ladies were super nice. Will definitely be coming back!

Yelp
Another happy place to visit even only for browsing and window shopping. So many stuff to see and a great place to find the right baking, cooking tools for any cooking/baking need, cutlery, time saving gadgets, cookware, flatware and many more. It is a cool kitchen store!

Yelp
Love love love. Cooking and baking stores get me every time, even though I don't do much of either. I love all the gadgets and Sur La Table is the cream of the crop. This is the original Sur La Table and has everything you could want for your kitchen besides the appliances and the chef. This location is perched a bit precariously on a slanted hill at Pike Place Market so watch your step going in and out. Cooking classes are offered here! Thinking about coming back with a friend or two in tow for a fun night out.

Yelp
Okay, Sur La Table: here's the deal: I knew I wanted this Breville Smart Oven Air, and in Seattle, there are plenty of ways to get one. I saw it on Amazon. Then searched locally online. Bed Bath & Beyond had it at their location a few blocks from where I live. I went there with my 20% off coupon, only to be laughed at---"That's not applicable to the Breville stuff", I was told. Of course it's not. Perish the thought they'd actually honor their bait-and-switch routine. I called a couple of other places. Yeah, they had it. No, they didn't. Tried selling me a different brand, and much smaller, for one-third the price. Ugh. Has no one heard of, "YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR"?? I want the cavernous capacity. I want the precise temperature control I read about in numerous reviews. I want, I want, I want---what every informed consumer wants: To get 100% value for the 100% price paid.In the end, I drove from the very southern end of the county to your flagship original store, in the Market. I had called in advance, and your incredible crew (Liz and Friends!) were helpful---as always. I bought it, enjoyed their comments on it, and I know later when I fire this lovin' oven up and make me not regret my 56 year old bachelor life, it'll be because of Sur La Table's incomparable customer service. THAT is why I bought it from you. Thank you for yet again making the separation of money from my wallet a perfect experience. It's for that reason that I buy locally and post stuff like this---because you care, I care. Gratefully, Jeph in BFE King County To Everyone else reading this: I don't care what it is you believe you need in your kitchen. Do your research online, be informed, and then call Sur La Table. 206.448.2244. Liz and the team will take care of you. Then go pick it up at 84 Pine Street, in Pike Place Market, downtown Seattle. And tell 'em Jeph sent you.

Yelp
Still a major fan , over the years, PPM staple!! The products are still dope, the items I have purchased over the years are wonderful, my family has learned to be in the kitchen with the gadgets I have purchased over the years. The customer service here is always top notch, pleasant and inviting. Tourist, visitors, locals, it doesn't matter , buy something, who knows it may just inspire you. I do miss the "over stuffed/ full" look of the store though.

Yelp
This comment is not specifically about this location, but since Sur La Table seems determined to keep the location of their corporate headquarters a secret I'm posting my comment here. I've taken many classes with Sur La Table, some great and some not worth the money. One needs to ask onesself this question when considering a class: will I learn any techniques that I do not know; otherwise, if you can follow a recipe, you can save money by investing in (yet another) cookbook that contains recipes similar to their menus. My big point of frustration is scheduling classes on their web site. Their web site is a hot mess. Why, for example, since I register as myself for classes, does the "attendees" list include my name like 20 or more times; can't their computer figure out duplicate names and condense them into a single list item? And, when I need to reschedule a class and call into their 800 number, why do the reschedule classes NEVER show up attached to my account even though the CS representatives assure me they've enrolled me under my account. That makes it difficult to track which classes I've taken (which is more than 50 at this point). Further, why the heck does SLT have a customer service email link on their web site and in every email communication when that email account seems to be a black hole. No matter what you put in an email, including questions, you NEVER get a confirmation that the email was received nor do you receive a reply. SLT needs to invest some $$$ in having an outside professional company redesign their web site for ease of use and efficiency instead of spending so much money on marketing merchandise to customers via their seemingly perpetual sale. Enough is enough.

Yelp
I'm such a sucker for kitchen stores and it was this one that first reeled me in. Way back when... sometime in the early 90's I happened to be wandering aimlessly around Pike Place, killing time, spending money and perfectly enjoying myself when I stumbled into this gem of a kitchen store. I had not yet learned what a joy looking at gadgets and cookbooks and pans and roasters and ceramics and kitchen towels and and and..... and EVERYTHING, kitchen, was. If loving kitchen stores can be compared to a disease, this store was its pathogen. Frankly, I love kitchen stores more than any other type of store and Sur La Table (pronounced Ser La Taab) is better than all the rest. It's a magical little gem of a kitchen store located in a magical little corner of Seattle. If you want it, they have it. I mean it, there's no exaggeration here. They have it all from KrumKake presses to Spetzel makers and everything in between. I have the best crepe pan in the universe that was purchased at 'The Taab'. Weekends can be a zoo so if you're going for the store and not for the tourist experience you may want to visit on a weekday, otherwise, just dive in. This store is for foodies and foodie wannabes and food consumers and food makers and of course, gift givers, but it's not for those who are looking for a deal on a mass market item on the Walmart kitchen gadget isle. For that, you'll need to visit Walmart.

Yelp
My wife shops here once a year. Some prices aren't that bad compared to Amazon. I found a coach roach in the store today. Not something you usually find in Seattle.
google avatar

Gary E.

Yelp
I just totally love this place! If and when time permits, I love to entertain family and friends with some good home cooked eatin' and Sur La Table definitely had all the right tools for the job. I always find myself daydreaming in front of the Chef Knives case. A high end set for one of these bad boys can cost as much a nice vacation to Hawaii. Maybe some day. I picked up an inexpensive Wüsthof Silverpoint II Santoku Knife with a sharpener. What a wonderful day...

Yelp
Avoid this store if you are a person of color!!! I recently visited this location to purchase a few items and browse. All was well and good until it was time to check out. I was standing in line and there was a white women behind me, when the cashier had finished, she completely looked past me and started helping the person behind me. Then once it was convenient for the cashier to ring me up, they then decided to ask me for my ID for my credit card. Now listen I understand that this is common in many stores, but what I found particularly disturbing was the person in front of me that made a $200 dollar purchase on a credit card was never asked for an ID, and I also wanted to wait to see if the next person was ID'd, and to my surprise they weren't! I will not be returning to this racist establishment because there are many other choices in cooking stores that will treat me like a full person. People of color you have been warned!

Yelp
This is a short review of a shopping experience at Sur La Table in Seattle. I seldom write reviews for businesses that are not restaurants. But I do love shopping at Sur La Table. When I lived in San Francisco, a drop-in at Sur La Table was always a mainstay of any visit to the Ferry Building. Thus far, in Seattle, as I passed by, I had resisted the temptation to duck in and check it out. But today, I was heading to give Michou a try and when my brother and I spotted Sur La Table, we decided to duck in and take a peek The staff was friendly and helpful. The store is chocked full of just about any cooking related device your heart could ever long for. If there is any negative, it is the store is so jam packed with cooking utensil goodness, it can be a tight squeeze to navigate the shop. We managed to find a few things to buy. The prices are relatively competitive. It has never really been a place for bargains but they also do not feel the need for an extreme markup. They offer premium and more affordable brands. http://tinyurl.com/kpeqggd Overall, if you are into cooking gadgetry or just have a real need for some cooking utensils, Sur La Table in Seattle is a great place to shop. You will find just about anything you could possibly need or want. Plus, the staff is very friendly and helpful.
google avatar

Vicky L.

Yelp
So I love cooking and everything cooking gadget related. I worked for Williams Sonoma so I could get all my goodies for a decent price (oh thank you employee discount!) So not living near a Sur La Table when in SD, I had to make the mecca to the Sur La Table mothership. Ahhh... knives and pots and pans galore... My only complaint is that its not as polished looking as WS... stuff is displayed on chrome shelves.
google avatar

Krystle T.

Yelp
This place is a fantasy. The original Sur La Table. I want to buy everything in the store but I can't afford anything so :(
google avatar

Samantha G.

Yelp
Like what others have already mentioned, I can spend hours here, despite how crowded this place gets. I'm not gonna lie, this place is a little pricey but if you sign up for their email newsletter, you hear about their sales and get a $10 coupon. Recently, the Cusineart immersion blender is on sale for for $27.99 (reg $55) so I may head over to grab one. Other than that, I mainly come here to daydream of what I want in my future kitchen while going Pinterest crazy.
google avatar

Olya Z.

Yelp
I called in advance about some baking molds and an associate (Adam?) answered all of my questions and even put the items on hold for me until the next day. I had a very good experience
google avatar

Vincent V.

Yelp
Amazing service. Very helpful staff. They always have what I'm looking for or will work to find it for me. I love this store. Probably the only kitchen store left shopping at since Williams & Sonoma left Pacific Place.

Yelp
Why have I never been to a Sur La Table before! This place is pretty great, even if it is a chain. The store is stocked to the brim with cooking supplies of all sorts, and the employees are very nice. There is a sizable clearance section and they even had additional 20% off all clearance on occasions! Not sure how frequent the sales are, but if you can, go during sales and you can find some sweet deals, especially for the small knick knacks (measuring cups, placemats, etc.) I managed to get their Sur La Table skillets (9" and 11") for $30 for two. What a great deal! My only issue is that since the store is kind of on the small side, the store seems a bit cluttered, as if there's too much stuff. It looks like someone hoarded a bunch of stuff in the store. I guess it's not their fault since the store is so small, but just be warned in case it feels overwhelming when stepping in. I love the Cuisinart selections here. They have all these cute bright colors for their appliances. I picked up a hand blender that was bright purple. Love it! If you give them your email you can get a $10 coupon in your inbox sometime, which is very useful since Sur La Table is not super cheap.
google avatar

Brian H.

Yelp
I got some tablecloth online, but never got any email with the tracking number it's kind annoying that you need to improve it. Other then that it's nice tablecloth.
google avatar

Leighanna K.

Yelp
This place gets really crowded on weekends and it's hard to move around. Checkout is inefficient and takes forever! I only went here because I was in the market and needed a mandolin for a recipe I was making later in the day. It was on sale but there was no signage, so I found out at checkout.
google avatar

J G.

Yelp
I bought new knives and am so happy with them. but, I must say that my Henkles out lasted both of my marriages which kind of major.
google avatar

Rich W.

Yelp
This is sort of a cornerstone of Pike Place Market (albeit up a hill)... and I always find myself getting sucked in when in the area. It's a well-stocked kitchen store (I remember us getting the catalog when I was a kid), and there's always fun stuff to look at. Bizarre gadgets, silly towels nobody needs, and of course, swanky cutlery and pots and pans. Actually, the quality of most of what they sell is quite good, and the "house brand" puts out some quality products as well. I've purchased Sur La Table pots, etc. and have always had good experiences. The people working there are always helpful and unobtrusive. If they help you out they'll take the stuff over to the checkout to stash it so you're not carrying it around. The store itself is "cozy" so when it's crowded at the Market, this place is usually packed, too. I find it adds to the three-ring-circus atmosphere of the whole place...
google avatar

Gloria D.

Yelp
Any chef or baker's dream! They have everything you could dream of here & things that really don't make sense that people buy (like "apple pie spice"...really?) It's pretty tiny, so if you have a lot of bags, don't walk around in this store because changes are you'll knock something over. They have a lot of high end cooking appliances - but most come with warranties. They're worth spending the money on. I haven't personally bought anything from here (yet) because this was my first time being in here (even though i've lived in Washington almost my whole life) but i'll definitely be back once i have more space & more need for cookware! If you're at pikes place, stop in! If you're traveling or visiting, i don't think it'll be the easiest to carry about a huge pot made out of porcelain but it would totally be worth it.
google avatar

Peter A.

Yelp
I love to cook, I love tea, and I love fancy kitchen gadgets. There! I admitted it. I come to Sur La Table all the time for gifts and self indulgence. This latest trip was to purchase a Thermos with a tea infuser. I found a great one. There is only one problem with Sur La Table. Other people like it just as much as I do so it is always packed. Not enough to deter me. Especially since I get the catalog.
google avatar

Etta H.

Yelp
Sur La Table to me is like a chocolate covered puppy firework display to a child. I frickin' adore it. And I get so excited about it when I know I'm going to go there that I get a little light headed. I love to be in the kitchen, I love cooking, I love cooking tools and I cannot handle the fact that all of the amazing things at Sur La Table are not in my house right now! I need everything they carry and I'm actually shocked I'm surviving without it. I won't have to for long though - since we registered here for our August wedding! BOOM! That's right, it's time to garlic press cutting board fish turner mixing bowl my face off! The staff is great, the location is ideal if you're at the market anyway (but if not, as you can imagine parking is kind of a bish). I love that the small space is just jam packed with absolutely everything you'll ever be able to dream up in your kitchen porn fantasies...

Yelp
I shouldn't be writing about Sur La Table it really should be my Girlfriend, but secretly...I enjoy coming in here...shhh don't tell my gf. Alright I'm just going to come out and say it, this store is pretty awesome. Truthfully though we have yet to buy something here. But every time we are in Pike Place we make a stop into Sur La Table. The fact is if you are looking for something for your kitchen they are most likely going to have it, and not only will they have it they will have 5 different types of what you are looking for. The employees are always nice and knowledgeable. I was being nosy when I heard an employee helping a customer with knives he was explaining how the knives were different and why they were different, how to sharpen them etc. I learned something new just standing around it was awesome. Great selection of kitchen wares, price I would say is pretty reasonable. Location is great but parking is a pain because it's right in Pike Place. Definitely recommend paying a visit to Sur La Table. Great Store.

Yelp
Yes. A heaven for someone who loves to stay in the kitchen ;-) I wish the place was twice as big, but still as cramped and brimming with utensils, supplies, accessories, and products of the like. They usually seem to be having some sort of a sale. It went from 50% to 60%! And full of surprises. I mean... Need a big gigantic whisk to cook a 500 gallon soup? Well, maybe you'd be able to convince them to sell that ginormous whisk to you cause I'm not sure if it's or sale... Ha! They've got lots of cookie cutters for $1. Towels for $4-6, and various cups and plates on sale. It's not a cheap cookware shop, but don't miss on the certain stuff they mark down! You can also find a lot of the stuff they're selling in other big cookware stores. But why not give this lovely place a shot?!
google avatar

Lyssa D.

Yelp
This store I first found back in the 90's, and it's one of my favorite places to visit. I love the selection of cool cooking toys. I could sit and dream for hours about what I might whip up with the beautiful pans, or chop with the beautiful knives. It is pricy, but they have great quality cookware.

Yelp
Woah! Why so low? I guess if you're an absolute Francophile and can't live without Le Creuset giant ceramic coated dutch ovens that costs an arm and a leg or feel your kitchen is not complete without very expensive all copper stock pots for full retail price this is your place! Unless you feel that the worth of something is somehow lessened if bought at a discount store you're wasting your time here. I love Le Creuset products and know that even though copper has a superior heat transfer rate than say stainless steel, it is an absolute nightmare to keep clean. So let me steer you away from the copper and give you a small tip. If you go to those Discount Stores like Marshalls or T.J. Max, they sometimes have ridiculous deals on Stainless Steel All Clad pots and pans and also on the le Creuset's! Stay away from the old guard German Steel and instead go for the new Japanese blades that are sharper, lighter and hold their edge's longer. The only knives you should get from here are the Shun's which are amazing knives. I personally prefer Mac's, but they're only available online or at Uwajuymaya. Fancy Italian pasta makers are also available online for cheaper than you could find at Sur la Table. Just be warned, rent in the market is not cheap and although the quality of the goods here are top shelf, you're paying a premium. I can't recommend this place due to their high prices.
google avatar

Maria C.

Yelp
Aren't the old days always better? The original store, before the chain, was better than now, but it's still good. And after years of replacing cheap skillets and pots and things, I buy one quality piece at a time. Sometimes with long intervals between purchases, but every one has been a good decision. Like the Oneida pots and Le Creuset casserole dishes. I never cook anything that has to be molded, but the copper molds were so enticing I bought a couple and hung them on the wall. Every gadget imaginable and plenty of things you may never have heard of to stir the cooking fires, so to speak. Even if you don't like to cook you'll like this store and if you do, try to stick to your budget or you'll walk away with much more than you intended.

Yelp
I literally cannot walk into this store without my jaw hitting the floor and drool dripping down my chin. This is a small store but it is literally packed to the ceiling with everything you could ever possibly need for a kitchen. I mean that... everything... there are things you want (copper pots), things you need (great paring knives), things you never knew you wanted until you saw it there (le creuset individual gratin pans), and stuff that you didn't know existed until you got there (I counted 4 different types of peelers and the kitchenaid grain mill!). But this place is more than just about high quality cooking gear, they have demo stations, rockin' cook books and employees who actually know what they're talking about. Sur la Table is my favorite kitchen store on the planet, I want to move in and never leave.

Yelp
My experience was actually at the Sur La Table in Bellevue, but my experience was awesome because the employee I worked with in Bellevue was actually someone from the Pine St. Store, so I am posting my positive comments at the location she works at. I popped into Sur La Table to grab a simple pan, and wasn't looking to buy a bunch of items. I was approached by a sales lady (sorry I didn't take down her name) who was incredibly help and more importantly passionate about cooking and the products they sold. She knew the products inside out, and 20 minutes later I exited with a stack of new pans, a work and other accessories. Although this was a bit of a impulse purchase, me and my wife have absolutely loved EVERY piece I bought that day from Sur La Table. I was also impressed at the sales person's integrity. We were at the counter, and she was ringing me up. She normally works at the Pine street store, but was a visiting worked at the Bravern store. As she is ringing me up, she asks another employee, "Hey, since I have no quota today, I am just going to give you the sale". How nice! She worked SO hard, was so awesome, and then gives the credit of her hard work to another store employee who was just hanging around. Unfortunately, I returned to the Bellevue store a couple weeks later and had a terrible experience. No worries, if I need anything, I will drive across the bridge, to the Pine St. Store and seek out this sales person who really provided a great experience. thanks. Please have your colleagues @ the bravern step it up!

Yelp
I brought in a knife to be sharpened, and was really blown away by the quality of the work they did. It was just a cheapo 8" Henckels chef's knife, and I think it was sharper when I got it back from SLT than it was when I bought it new. I can slice through anything like it's butter now. And not only did they do a great job, they did it fast -- 2 day turnaround, during the week between Christmas and New Year no less. I got a phone call letting me know if was ready for pickup. Nicely done. The one downside is that it's very touristy, and often very crowded. Not a huge deal, just kind of alarming because there's not a lot of space to maneuver and I'm always afraid I'll knock something over.

Yelp
I literally could spend hours here. I wish I just had all the money and a bigger kitchen because there really isn't anything here that I can't justify spending money on! All locations are usually a little cramped but there's also everything you can think of as well as a few more things you didn't even think of to make life easier in the kitchen. I've only bought a few items from them thus far and they've held up pretty well. I love their selection on knives and they sharpen them on site for $5 a blade which is a great deal. Overall I love this place for all that it is. Not the cheapest but from from the most expensive. You can always find strange things to make life easier. Which is great for me because I love life in the kitchen!

Yelp
True, this is the original store of this now mainstream chain. It's always been overpriced, or at least pricey, but the selection of cooking gear and kitchen gadgets is amazing -- the store is filled from floor to ceiling and wall to wall! If you can't find it here, it probably either doesn't exist, or isn't worth having.

Yelp
All Bride's and Groom's please read, do not register at Sur La Table. I tried to order off the wedding registry on line and items cannot be shipped directly to the preferred address for the bride and groom. My billing address was automatically entered into the shipping address section and there was never any indication that this was done. Now I am having to hand carry heavy baking dishes on an airplane from WA to FL. This is a royal pain, please do not register with this company!!

Yelp
I tried to use a Visa gift card issued by my company. It took 20 minutes to checkout as they said they couldn't verify if the card was good for the amount. Complained using the web site, manager contacted me but never followed through with sending me a response and something for my trouble. Let me be clear, the staff were rude to me and the manager never replied to my email.

Yelp
The lady and Adam were very helpful and informative. The store has a lot of very cute home cooking supplies. It makes you wanna buy them all! Prices are little expensive but the location is very convenient for me. Ultimately, I came back here because the other Restaurant Store up north is super far and I remember the last time I came here everyone was super helpful and nice. I got almost everything I need and will come again this weekend to get my piping tips! This is what customer service should be!

Yelp
A visit to Sur La Table makes me wish I were a talented chef instead of just a wannabe home cook who's just happy to avoid burning the meal! Sur La Table is an upscale kitchen superstore jam-packed with everything from espresso machines that cost as much as a small car to gorgeous table linens in a rainbow of colors. It's SO much fun to browse the store that I make a point to come anytime I'm in Seattle. In addition to the large selection of merchandise, the sales staff is friendly and helpful. The only downside is that after shopping this place, my wallet is considerably lighter. Fortunately, since I'm traveling, I'm automatically limited to how much stuff I can take away! I highly recommend this place if you love all things related to cookery! Yelp 365 Challenge #175

Yelp
This kitchen store is worth the fight to find parking! We went in on a whim after eating lunch in pikes, we had been wanting a good knife that was high quality and the staff member, Darlene was absolutely incredible. She let us test out the different knives on apples and lended her extended wealth of knowledge to us as well. She wasn't pushy on just the expensive knives and helped us find the exact right ones. We also found beautiful wine glasses that were not too expensive but feel and look like great quality items. We could've easily spent hours in this store.

Yelp
The products are at Sur la Table are good. The staff and customer service not so. I bought a Christmas gift for a co worker online. I never received an email letting me know it had been shipped. I sent an email asking about this. Never got a reply. Called and found out it will get here too late for me to give it to my co worker, contrary to what they said when I bought it online. Went to the store at the market to find it. The guy working there was ATROCIOUS! Told me they didn't have it. They did. Flipped me massive attitude when I saw him later and told him they did have it. Really? Attitude? There are two rules in retail: know your product and be nice to your customers. If you cannot do either of these, why in the name of the good green earth are you working retail? And don't you think your forties (fifties?) is too old for eye rolling? What I think is I have shopped my last at Sur la Table. Online and offline.

Yelp
Small Sur La Table but you can't blame them since they are right by Pike Place. They always have some sort of sale going on and I highly recommend to stop by and look around. If you have a specific thing in mind, don't be overwhelmed by the layout and just ask someone. They are always really friendly and sometimes even help you find something else you were looking for! The quality of their products is always great and worth the higher price if you want to invest in kitchen gadgets.

Yelp
I sure enjoy shopping at this place....Pembroke Pines, Plano, Washington....always said, you have a problem? No problem! Except for the store by the Market in Washington. Met with the salesman and Ross the manager. They would not exchange the two cooking trays I brought in. They are supposed to be non-stick but we're not. They suggested I purchase things to put on top of the trays to address the issue...what a shame. Time to shop somewhere else.

Yelp
A great place to find all of your kitchen/cooking needs. You can even have a great cup of coffee, latte, espresso or cappuccino if you stop by the espresso maker, that is if a staff person is there to make it for you. The customer service has greatly improved from before; the previous staff members were atrocious and didn't really know how to cater to customers.
