Surfside Taco Stand Nixes Plans for Waterfront Location at the Wharf - Eater DC

"Homegrown taco and margarita shop Surfside might not be headed to the Southwest Waterfront after all. Eater has learned the decade-old brand recently nixed plans to plant a stand on the Wharf across from the historic Maine Avenue Fish Market this spring. 'After an extremely large amount of thought, we decided that the location wasn’t right for us,' restaurateur Bo Blair told Eater via email. The beach-themed Mexican spot got its start in Glover Park in 2008. In 2015, Surfside opened a walk-up, 24-hour taco stand in Dupont Circle that draws massive late-night lines from surrounding bars and clubs. Blair says the latest deal on the Wharf primarily fizzled due to evening foot traffic concerns. 'We wanted to be in a spot that would guarantee us the ability to serve the Anthem crowd before and especially after the show, and we didn’t feel like people would come all the way down to the outer edge,' says Blair, whose Georgetown Events restaurant group also runs Due South, Millie’s, the Bullpen, and Jetties. Surfside’s hopes to bring its menu to the Wharf aren’t completely dead yet: 'We would really like to be part of the Wharf in a more central location and are talking to [owner] PN Hoffman to try to make this happen,' he adds." - Tierney Plumb

The food is fine. The location is lovely. Warning: Don't ask for a cup of tap water or they get attitude with you. Unclear how providing tap water is against company policy. They must have a different policy than other locations at the Wharf or in DC that serve both families with children and also serve alcohol. For comparable price and food quality, there are many other options on the wharf that are more welcoming.

Perfect spot for a late night meal! Surf side was one of the few places open on a Friday night after 11pm within reasonable distance to the Anthem. We got the Maui and the Punta Cana tacos- one was chicken and the other fish. Highly recommend these options but want to try all of the others! The rice was a little bland, but added some depth to the tacos We also got a large size guacamole, which complemented the tacos even more! They also had draft margaritas, which were delicious!

Google
I am extremely confused how anybody gives this place one star fantastic great new location with indoor seating. Highly recommend the avocado and shrimp burrito Martinique. There does appear to be a small issue with the cash register as I accidentally ordered two burritos instead of one and two salsas instead of one maybe they should check on the button.

Google
I come here to this location often since it’s close to home. The last 3 orders of Blackened salmon have NOT been blackened. If you guys no longer blackened salmon, please remove it so I will no longer add on and pay eight additional dollars for blackened salmon that I don’t receive. To add - this only happens at this location. I literally ordered from DuPont yesterday and I received blackened salmon.

Google
Awesome place for a quick bite before a concert at the Anthem! We tried at several items all of the tacos were delicious, the guacamole was a hefty portion, and the street corn was amazing! Plus, they sell REALLY big bottles of water - great for walking around with in the area during the summer.

Google
My girlfriend and I are vegetarians, so we ordered the Bonaire with beans instead of chicken. Unfortunately, the burrito was basically rice. We actually dug through one of the burritos to find the beans, and there were maybe 5 in the whole thing. Which is fewer than you’d expect for a $20 burrito.

Charlie Bravo

Google
Food was way too highly priced for the portions received. However, the flavor and seasoning was decent as compared to places like Chipotle and Taco Bell. If you're looking for a quick bite to eat, sure. Do not recommend if you're coming off of a hunger strike.

Google
Went here on an evening date and it was nice experience. Food - honestly the individual tacos are a bit over priced for myself but they sounded delicious off of the menu. My date and I had the burritos and they were tasty. I had the shrimp burrito and it was so good. Big fresh shrimp and nice bits of zucchini crunch too. Fresh ingredients and a fancy small salad too! Service - super respectful staff and fairly quick service too. No complaints. Vibe/Aesthetic - California surf shake vibe. It just felt casual, fun and nautical to me. I would go back for the fresh food but I would not try the tacos because of the prices were high in my opinion.

Yelp
Happened upon this restaurant while waiting for a show at the Anthem. The place had a decent line, so we thought the food must be good. We made the right call. We purchased the Bonaire and Martinique burrito bowls, some chips and guacamole, and a strawberry lemonade. The burrito bowls were some of the best we have ever had. The ingredients were fresh and very well seasoned. The portions were a very good size for the $. The guacamole was also very tasty and a decent sized portion (8oz i think) the money. The service was quick and friendly. The outdoor seating was nice, even if the location is not on the waterfront like other options. The food made up for the lack of a view. Only knock...Was not a huge fan of the strawberry lemonade. Was a little too sweet for my taste. Would highly recommend checking this place out!

Yelp
Surfside Taco Catering is hands down one of my favorite caterers for our office lunches. Their service is exceptional from start to finish. The driver always comes up to our office floor to set up the meal, providing aluminum trays and chafing fuel, and insists that we sit back while they handle everything in just 15 minutes. This level of service is truly bar none. For our office of 40 people, I regularly order their premium taco bar, and it never disappoints. I make sure to add a side of grilled veggies and their famous queso. The queso is an office favorite, with everyone raving about its deliciousness! The premium taco bar includes a variety of proteins such as shrimp, steak, and chicken, all of which are flavorful and perfectly cooked. Surfside Taco Catering has become a staple for our office lunches, especially for Taco Tuesdays. Their reliability, quality of food, and outstanding service make them an easy choice for any office event. I highly recommend trying them out for your next catering need!

Yelp
Let me start off by saying this is my favorite taco spot in DC. I usually visit this location during the day and the taco stand location when it's late at night. I discovered this spot on a Tuesday and to my surprise, they give one free taco on Tuesdays! This deal ends at 9:00PM every Tuesdays. There are limited seating inside and outside. My favorites are the Cabo San Lucas and the Birria. Cabo San Lucas - 5/5 This comes with grilled steak, grilled poblano pepper, onions, guacamole, lime crema, and cilantro. Every topping just compliments each other and the steak is perfectly cooked. Birria - 4/5 This comes with braised beef, jack cheese, sweet onion & cilantro. The tortilla is always cooked perfectly and the consome. Each order comes with two tacos (three on Tuesdays) and yellow rice.

Yelp
Cute taco shop located on The Wharf in DC with fast service and a good selection of tacos and burritos. The Nevis tacos were really fresh and delicious! They consisted of large grilled shrimp with pineapple mango salsa, cilantro, and guacamole with a side of yellow rice. Their peach hot sauce was the perfect complement to an already amazing dish! Definitely a must try if you're in the area.

Yelp
09.19.2023. It was Taco Tuesday & I wanted something that would tantalize my tastebuds. I considered my normal taco spot in the District, but I haven't been fully satisfied as of late. Enter Surfside Taco!! We found street parking & walked to the Wharf Taco Stand. Garage parking is over $30. This place is really cute and celebrates the Caribbean culture. I waited in line versus ordering from the self serve stations. It was hard deciding because there was so many options. I ordered the St. Lucia tacos. Two tacos with a small side of yellow rice is $15.95. Since it was Taco Tuesday, they offered a 3rd taco as a BONUS. Yay!! I selected the Maui taco. My friend ordered Negril tacos & his bonus was the Cabo San Lucas. Seating indoor & outdoor is limited, but we were able to grab seats outside once a patron finished. Our number was called about 12 minutes later. We went inside to grab our food. The tacos were filled to the brim and the textures & flavors were on point!! They are some of the tastiest tacos I've had in a long time plus this location is pretty good for people watching. Can't wait to return!

Yelp
We walked in by chance on a very cold day after unsuccessfully trying to get a table at several restaurants on the warf. The place is really small and setup so that on a busy day most of the staff works in the meal prep, upon waking in, there are self service kiosks where you place your order and after that you just wait for the magic to happen. When we went in, the place wasn't busy so one of the staff members opened the service window and offered to help us with questions about the menu and how to place our order. But I can see how in a busy day it may be just as easy to use the kiosk to place your order. The food prep doesn't take long, but even on a day when it seems empty many people places take out orders that may be ahead of yours and result in what seems a long wait. We order the nachos (with steak), pastor tacos, corn and a strawberry lemonade. Everything was tasty, well prepared, and the portions are generous. Although the tacos were comparable to other tacos we've had at other good places, the strawberry lemonade was definitely better than anything we've had before.

Yelp
I was surprised at the amount of places in the wharf that were barely open at 1100 for lunch, and after doing some walking I found Surfside. This place is a regular eatery with the cut and paste beach vibe, so I wasnt expecting small, bland artisan tacos with inflated prices. I ordered the bora bora tacos (they come in 2s), and a side of braised beans. I was surprised to see the size of the tacos, they were bigger than expected. The tacos were good, and the orange slices gave it a different element that I never knew I needed. The rice that came with it was largely forgettable, and the beans were cool...not bad but not great. 12.95 for those tacos, in such a touristy area was a good value in my opinion.

Yelp
This place was wonderful. It has a self service kiosk for ordering and walk up window for pickup. There's outdoor seating and a few tables inside. There no public restrooms except outside on the the side of building. We needed a quick bite since we didn't eat breakfast and dinner was scheduled for 5pm. There was a short wait, food was hot and my veggies were well done My out of town guests enjoyed their and made respectful comments about the flavors. They wanted "authentic" seafood and they got it. Yeah we were at a fast food place but the meals were hearty and authentic. This will be a place I will enjoy on visit to The Wharf in the DC area

Yelp
Nacho average taco stand, unique take on Tex Mex with excellent favors. I had a quesadilla with chicken and citrus or mango pineapple and wow it was amazing. Little pricey but the portions are large and the food is good. You place your order on a screen and your number is called so no service and because there's people all standing around waiting no ambiance. I'd return again for a quick on the go meal.

Yelp
This place was unexpected super good. I usually don't really get taco and honestly if I was passing by this place I normally wouldn't try anything. However, i'm glad i decided to try something different today. The steak taco was so good since it was cooked just not overly cooked and the taco was crispy and soft which is hard to find since most time i find it too hard or soft that makes it soggy quick. The birria was a bonus since I came here on Tuesday and apparently there's a free third taco for it and i really wanted to try birria taco here and i surely did not leave disappointed! Highly recommend coming here and i believe there's another location that opens 24/7!! Definitely come here if you got late night craving!

Yelp
My dad and I came here after seeing a show at the Anthem. This is one of the few places near the venue still serving food (until midnight), so naturally, it was very busy. The line moved quickly, and we got our chips and guacamole immediately so we could snack while waiting for our tacos. I ordered the breakfast tacos. My dad ordered the steak tacos. Both were excellent. And the yellow rice was really good, too. Would definitely recommend this place for really good, quick tacos!

Yelp
If i can give u a less rating i would. I was there last night and ordered 2 entrees plus 4 drinks for me and my friend. I came up to the window to ask for water, not a bottle but just regular water because the weather was hot and we were parched, just to be denied and said it was restaurant policy. Well Surfside taco, thank u for denying 2 thirsty people water, a simple glass of water after ordering. Your policy, according to your employee, is pathetic and denying someone that was dehydrated of something as simple as water after putting in an order ia pathetic. Nobody is above a glass of water, much less for a thirsty costumer that had just put in an order over $50. At least i believe that. Hope those 50 cents u saved helps keep u afloat and ur business doesnt go down because youre giving water to a thirsty costumer. I will never support your business, a glass of water shouldnt be denied to anyone. Pathetic!!!

Yelp
I LOVE surfside. They're one of my go-tos when I need a quick bite before a show at The Anthem or when I want to walk around The Wharf with friends and grab a bite to eat. They're expensive, but you get 3 tacos and rice! I wish you could mix and match tacos easily and I also wish they had more seating, but I love to bring mine to the docs. The line is also normally pretty long, but the staff is always friendly and efficient. Normally I have to wait about 10 minutes for the tacos, but they always come out hot and fresh. They also have good sodas in glass bottles I'll splurge on every now and then. I love any of their tacos with pineapple on them and their carnitas are also very tasty!! I've been going to Surfsides throughout the city for years now! Definitely check them out!!
google avatar

Jacquelyn C.

Yelp
Got the tacos here for a late night snack and it was so filling. The tacos were good and the service was quick (waited less than 15 minutes). The downside though, is that the price is rather steep for just two tacos and some rice.

Yelp
LATE NIGHT EATS NEAR THE ANTHEM @ THE WHARF SURFSIDE is open until 1:00 AM on Friday & Saturday nights For the SURFSIDE location @ 33 District Square SW Washington, DC Which is practically on the corner of 9th & Maine St SW I was looking for a place to eat as I had skipped dinner on my way down to The Anthem to see a Dark Star Orchestra concert on Saturday October 21st, 2023. Some restaurants close 9:00, 10:00, 11:00 PMs & 12:00 Midnight At The Wharf-- Pretty much the Limerick Pub & SURFSIDE are the only places to get food after Midnight This is a very popular place day or night so the order line can appear long but it really moves as fast as a Chipotle line. There is a walk up 'smart' screen where One can order food. There's a lot of chouce The Horchata was pretty good. The Gal listened & she did not Over-ice my drink, which was nice.

Yelp
The convenience of it being in such a prime location was a major plus. However, there were a few aspects of my experience that left me with mixed feelings. It was kind of surprising to me that the restaurant didn't have any cups of water. Instead, they insisted on selling bottled water, which I found a bit inconvenient and unnecessary. It would have been nice to have the option of free water, especially considering the prices. In regards to pricing, it was definitely on the pricier side. For reference, I ordered the Belize Quesadilla, which after tax and tip came up to $18.65. Even glancing at the rest of the menu, everything seemed to be similarly priced. Especially as someone who grew up in Texas, there are definitely better, cheaper options. Nevertheless, I am willing to give it a pass due to its location on the wharf, which often tends to be associated with higher prices. For food, I do feel like it fell somewhere in the middle for me. It wasn't really outstanding or memorable enough to make it my first choice for future visits, but it was decent enough for a quick fix. The interior was the highlight of the experience. It was super well decorated and was one of the factors that really drew me into the restaurant in the first place. The thing that stood out most to me was it's lack of service efficiency. Despite there being only two people ahead of me in line, it took way longer than expected to place my order. I noticed that there were individuals at the next window engaged in casual conversations, seemingly disregarding the waiting customers. Overall, this restaurant's prime location on the wharf made it a convenient option, especially for grab-and-go meals. However, the general experience definitely has room for improvement. While it may suffice for a quick bite, I would personally explore other dining options in the future.
google avatar

Kevin S.

Yelp
It's simply great food but a bit pricey. The one thing that I have an issue with is that they do not provide a simple cup of water that you can drink. I have to purchase bottled water, which I believe is illegal. Even McDonalds gives you a cup of water.
google avatar

Khanh-Chau M.

Yelp
Solid nachos! The chips, guacamole, sour cream, salsa, ground beef, cheese all was so tasty! Took a while to be prepared but enjoyed it. Water bottles had to be paid extra which I didn't really like. Outdoor tables were kind of dirty when we were there too so had to clean them up ourselves. Overall good experience and food. Need to try their other stuff for a better in depth review!
google avatar

Bella W.

Yelp
Always good! Never disappointed! I love the street corn especially! Service is always fast and efficient!
google avatar

Brian S.

Yelp
We placed a to-go order for five and it cost around $70. Driving there was not bad but traffic at the Wharf gets heavy and street parking can be hard to find. Tonight it was no problem. We picked up our order exactly when they said it would be ready and there was nothing missing. All of the dishes in our order looked so good. There's two tacos in the Nevis and rice on the side and it was plenty.
google avatar

Beza G.

Yelp
I've been here like 5x and never had a bad experience. Always get either their blackened shrimp or shrimp burrito. All the flavors are are fresh and the fish well seasoned and crispy. The yellow rice isn't exactly Mexican rice but it gets the job done. It's fast-casual so you won't be waited on. Food take approx. less than 10min to arrive. The place is Hawaiian-esque with the bright yellow. They have limited indoor seating (high-chairs) and outdoor seating. If you're at the Wharf and don't want to spend an arm and a leg, this is the place.
google avatar

Bea A.

Yelp
I ordered takeout and got the Martha's Vineyard quesadilla and the guac + chips. Definitely more vegetables than cheese, but there was just enough cheese to bind all the ingredients together. The guac + chips were good, they gave a lot of chips in the bag. My food (alongside those of the others in my party) was initially missing when we picked our whole order from the counter, so be sure to check your bag before leaving. Otherwise, the food is good and quite filling.
google avatar

Carly R.

Yelp
Is it because the Wharf has become the rich to enjoy so the prices and quality also goes down with it? It's quite a disappointment here. I went there for lunch on a typical weekday before night time work nearby. There was no line in front of me and I got a taco and some chips since I thought a few tacos won't fill me up. I did ask the lady at the front register how big they are and if it's a good lunch, and she answered quite annoyed by "yeah, it's two tacos." which was not helpful at all. Well, I was wrong, the 2 tacos also came with rice side and some beans, and the tacos are not the typical small size tacos... they are big and stuffed with vegs. It sucks they didn't care to explain to first time customer what the serve is not a typical taco size, nor to be nice to answer it. I sat inside since it was quite cold out, and again, they called my order out but did it quietly, and walked away immediately... Didn't even care if anyone come pick it up, they just call it and that's it. Luckily no one was in front of me so I knew it has to be mine. I sat down and had my food and realized how expensive it is for these! I ordered the fish tacos, it came with coleslaw? and came with a mayo sauce?? Honestly, this is really bad combination for taco... Maybe it's me who lived in LA for a few years so I had some real tacos out there; this is really not it. I can say even if I can't cook I can make this at home with ingredients from the grocery store! Why would I get it here for such a price!? I felt very disappointed, but I do not waste food, also I had to eat before my work, so I finished the so called tacos, but kept the chips and salsa for later. Not a surprise that the chips and salsa is mediocre as well. Who in the world would go to this place for bad taco with no design in flavors, crazy price tag, AND bad customer service?! A no for me. It's food, but not good food. Definitely not worth the money. If they can't improve making a good menu, at least make the service great to cover it. There's neither of those things. I won't be even willing to come back and give them a chance, cause it's simply a waste of money.

Rachelle W.

Yelp
Food is on the expensive side but very very good. Tried two different kinds of tacos and they were both delicious. Food in general is pretty expensive in DC so not bad by those standards. It's about $16 for 2 tacos. They are pretty filling though and taste fantastic
google avatar

Gabriela W.

Yelp
Solid late night spot. I love the Montego punch. Taco and quesadilla flavors are creative, although not fully traditional. Good spot to check out after a show at the Anthem, then hop over to the curb and jump in a Lyft. Easy Peazy.
google avatar

Yelp
Needing a quick meal after recently attending the "Bloomaroo at the Wharf" event, this fast-casual Mexican spot fit the bill perfectly! Lines were long, but the staff was raring to go and moved things along as best as they could. We found outside seating right in front, so we dug in as soon as the food was received. We order two dishes to share amongst our table of four...the negril (mahi mahi fish) tacos and island nachos. Both were pretty easy to share, and tasted delicious. The fish tacos came dressed with a spicy slaw, avocados and a chili ranch drizzle inside corn tortillas. The island nachos saw chips covered with chicken tinga, cheese, pico de gallo, sour cream, guacamole and sliced jalapenos. It was a simple and satisfying meal after all the fun of the evening.
google avatar

LaShawna S.

Yelp
I tried the Shrimp and my daughter had the Birria tacos without cheese. We tore them up!!! That is all. We will be back...just wish there was more seating.
google avatar

Erica R.

Yelp
Good stop when down at the wharf. This "salad" burrito was light and refreshing. Don't forget the guacamole and chips!
google avatar

Ashley G.

Yelp
Smallish space on the wharf next to Chopsmith with "California" style decor. They have several types of tacos, quesadillas, and burritos to choose from. Actually quite an extensive menu for such a small place. If the weather is good, there is outdoor seating. Otherwise, I wouldn't come as a group of more than 4. But the food is awesome.
google avatar

Ahmad G.

Yelp
A small gem in the wharf area. There are many big and good restaurants in the wharf area but sometimes you just want to get something quick and easy to eat. Surfside accomplishes that mission completely. It is a small shop with small sitting and a small outdoor sitting area, however the quality is good. It is not authentic Mexican taco since it is a Tex mex but the quality is very good. We found this place on a Saturday night when we didn't want to reserve anything. The reviews were very good so we decided to give it a try. They have almost ten different type of tacos (kinda pricy lol) but each taco is two big tacos with a side of rice to satisfy the hunger enough. We ordered steak taco and birria taco. The steak taco was great, the combination of the sauce with guacamole made it really delicious. The birria taco was good too but we liked the steak one better. I would say the only reason is that I have had better birria tacos and in general they are not easy to make. The service was fast which is great. The only issue that I had is they don't have a bathroom which is totally fine for a small restaurant. I was happy when I saw they have a sink for washing hands but it didn't have water which is the main reason for 4 stars. I will come back and I guess hopefully they have figured out a way for the customers to wash their hands.
google avatar

Peyton F.

Yelp
I like how late they stay open. I really enjoyed the horchata, and the strawberry lemonade is extremely flavorful. The street corn is where it's at! Must try. The tacos were tasty.

Carolyn W.

Yelp
I was at Surfside Tuesday night at 10 PM. We ordered the Belize which is the steak quesadilla and it was excellent. It was stuffed with Steak. So today I bring a friend and I order the Belize and the Cayman Islands. The Cayman Islands was great. The Belize had no steak and a bunch of green lettuce on it. Someone made a mistake or someone was being freaking jerk.

Cindy R.

Yelp
Walked by and decided to eat here. I had birria tacos and they were amazing! My boyfriend enjoyed his dish too - the punta cana tacos.
google avatar

Toya C.

Yelp
I've been here before and it was great but this time it was very basic and all the food flavors were just mashed up together. I won't go back unless I've been partying hard and starving because it stays open later than other places at the wharf.
google avatar

Tira M.

Yelp
Unpretentious and satisfying. Birria tacos: grade A, crazy flavorful and meaty. One order comes with 2 tacos and a side of rice. I subbed the rice with a small salad. This was more than enough food for one person.
google avatar

Dyonna B.

Yelp
Went to DC on a whim on a Saturday afternoon. I haven't been to the Wharf boardwalk before. After searching around the area for a quick bite, we stumbled across this location. Alot of the restaurants off of the boardwalk are not really full service but that's OK. Myself and a friend started off with some beers while waiting for my cousin. I ended up ordering the Punta Cana Tacos- Fried chicken, creamy slaw, tomato corn salsa, cilantro, chipotle crema, flour tortillas. I put a little hot sauce on top and goooooooddd Lawwwdd those tacos were so damn good. I wish there was a location in Maryland. I do see there are 2 other locations. One on Wisconsin Ave and the other on N street. Neither of these locations are close to my home. But i will def visit again when I am at the wharf! Delicious!

Yelp
Fantastic steak tacos. As a Latino, a must try. Great taste and good portions. Piña colada is tasty and refreshing.

Yelp
good option for a late night meal that's not fast food. burrito could have more too it, seems like mostly rice and chicken
google avatar

Tarsha S.

Yelp
I didn't visit this place physically. I saw it on my DoorDash list and tried there delivery service. Since it's Taco Tuesday I decided to give "Surf side" a try , that along with the advice that a friend ate there before. This aaa the best decision I made. The quality of the food was spot on. The quantity for the price was cool too. And the fact that I had my quesadilla customized and they followed my instructions to the T was a big plus for me. I would love to sit down in there restaurant, feel a vibe and try some of there drinks. They had the alcoholic drinks "to go" on the door dash menu too. I will be be back "Surf side"
google avatar

Austin G.

Yelp
To be clear, Surfside is TEX MEX. If you want authentic Mexican food, drive out to El Papi Real Street Tacos in Camp Springs, Maryand or Tortas Y Tacos La Chiquita in Arlington, Virginia. If you want Tex Mex, Surfside is an okay choice. This location is in the heart of the new(ish) Wharf by a fountain you can't miss. It's small, but they do have an outdoor patio and limited indoor dining during the pandemic. Popular by the pandemic, they offer pickup and have a separate line for pickup. We found the food just okay. The fish tacos were dry and the shrimp burrito was average. The avocado was great but it lacked flavor overall. My wife had a fish taco bowl and enjoyed it. The chips are well fried and the queso is okay (it's white queso FYI).

Yelp
I came here for Happy Hour before a concert. The restaurant is located at The Wharf. The outdoor environment is very nice. The food is so so. We ordered nachos to share between me and a friend. They asked if we wanted to add chicken and guac to which we said sure, like it should have just came with the nachos already. We ate our food and drinks then when we got the bill, to our surprise... they charged an extra $10 for chicken and guac!! That is insane, especially since the nachos were already $8 without the extra. You could go to any bar and get better nachos that already include chicken and guac for way less. Would not recommend coming here and getting nachos at least, not sure about the other food they offer.

Yelp
The fish taco was fresh and really yummy. I like the sale point decoration and atmosphere.

Yelp
Grabbed this togo as we were walking around the wharf cherry blossom festival - the Bloomaroo. We ordered the negril tacos (blackened mahi mahi) and added on a birria taco just to try. A little on the pricer side (18 dollars for 3 tacos), but easy to eat on the go, and portion size was just the right amount to get us to dinner! Wish they had indicated in the menu that it came with rice, but that was also a welcome surprise! I preferred the flavor kick of the negril a bit more. The negril had a complex flavor profile with spicy, sour, and savory along with the creaminess that came from the avocado! It was delicious! The birria needed more spice and it looked like the shell hadn't been fried in birria oil, but it was crispy! Overall, pretty decent, and quick service. Also lovely decor! I loved all the license plates of different states (not american)!

Yelp
This place was amazing! Great atmosphere, quick service. We got lucky and were able to snag a table to eat (small dinning area.) If you don't get a table, plenty of places to eat outside. Four of us ordered and were super pleased with all the flavor and fresh food Would recommend to EVERYONE!

Yelp
Great taco stand. A little on the pricey side but worth it on a night when you're not in the mood to cook. Our personal favorites are the the veggie quesadilla and the mushroom taco. Not our normal go to's but outstanding choices. If you are looking for a quick and tasty option down by the wharf definitely stop by.

Yelp
In town for a concert and came in for a quick bite. The birria tacos are so bomb. I legit will dream about them. I love the self order kiosk and the heaters saved me during this cold day. One downside is no public bathroom but that's fine. The guac tasted so fresh and I legit ate it bye itself it's so good.def will come back

Yelp
Beautiful work has a layout of many canvas's in nature, and of San Luis Obispo that stood out. Sometimes the aluminum finish has a sparkling glow to it. Definitely worth while to checkout.

Yelp
Perfect quick go to Mexican restaurant. Don't forget taco Tuesdays when you can add a 3rd taco of a different variety. The kids portion is perfect for my daughter and the beans are delicious...so are the margaritas.

Yelp
Nothing but good things to say about this place!! This was my first time trying Birria tacos and I loved them. The enchiladas were so good and so was the flan! Will definitely be coming back!
