Really enjoyed!! 3 rolls for $12 and they were all delish. Miso soup was pretty good too. Vegan and veg options. Bang for buck! Fun variety. Suited for takeout

This place is insanely good and 100% gluten free. I’m a massive fan and really enjoyed all the sushi, especially the gf tempura shrimp. Oh wow, what a rare find. You need to stop by when in New York City especially if you have Celiac Disease or are just looking for amazing sushi.

Sushi Counter is a Australian-styled sushi roll takeout spot in Alphabet City. it serves up a freshly prepared selection of sushi rolls that are on display to choose from. had the pleasure of grabbing a variety of rolls a few times. highly recommend the spicy salmon, spicy, and shrimp tempura rolls. tbh, every roll that i have had here has been quality. the sushi rolls are very fresh and satisfying —it really shows foods don’t have to be ridiculously complex to be appetizing. beyond the sushi rolls, there’s miso soup as a menu item as well as some soft drink options. the shopfront is fairly small. there are a couple of seats by the window and a few tables station on the sidewalk. the shop itself is a couple of blocks from Tompkins Square Park, so warmer weather will provide those al fresco sushi rolls enjoyment opportunities. the staff is very affable and chill which makes for another hospitable low-key spot in the ABCs.

Good sushi. Very fresh and reasonable priced m. I had the 2 for 12 and it was all quite good. You can go eat your food in the beautiful garden nearby.

I’m obsessed with sushi counter!!!!!! I love the concept, how quick and easy it is to eat. The sushi is always fresh, great flavor, rice is perfect amount of softness with vinegar, seaweed crisp. All the spicy flavors are delicious and so is the shrimp tempura. Miso soup is also the perfect pair and flavorful. Love this place so much, I literally eat here multiple times per week- also $12 for 3 rolls?!! Come on, such a steal and fills you up! Oh also the ladies here are always so nice!

Such a good price for the sushi + miso soup! There are 3 seats inside and a couple tables out front. The little soy sauce fish are so cute.

I’ve wanted to try this place. Unfortunately my rolls were wrong and given the same rolls. Definitely want to try the spicy salmon and shrimp tempura, what ever I was given lacked flavor.

This place has the best cooked tuna roll. The volcano roll is also a must try. Miso soup serving is massive too and perfect for on the go.

So I stumbled on this gem of a place while meeting a friend in the city. I was early for our rendezvous and also quite hungry, so I looked to see what was in the area. I saw this cute, quaint space that advertised three rolls for $ 12. I stepped inside, where there was a countertop and a pretty table with 2 seats by the door. This place is mainly for take-out, which was fine by me, but I was able to snag a seat. I decided to go for the tempura shrimp, spicy tuna, and the Volcan,o which is crab with spicy mayo. I decided to add the Yuzu Lemonade because Yuzu, of course! Everything was very delicious and very fulfilling. I absolutely loved the Yuzu Lemonade and would get it again. I absolutely love the cute condiments with the single use soy sauce and wasabi. I just loved the vibe of the space. This spot feels like a neighborhood gem, as I saw many people coming in for takeout. I would definitely come back whenever I'm in the area.

3.5! sushi counter is pretty much strictly takeout. there are a few tables outside but I got mine to go. i will say, I enjoyed my rolls HOWEVER, i was a little spooked by the fish not being refrigerated. please correct me if im wrong and it actually is but from the display case i saw, it looks like they sit out there without refrigeration. i got the spicy tuna, salmon avocado, and eggplant which were all tasty. it was 3 for $12 which really isn't that good of a bargain because the hand rolls are not the same size of a sushi roll. also, they charge for any sauce other than soy sauce which was lowkey disappointing. i also read online some ppl got food poisoning but i didnt! tasted great, i felt great. i would prefer if it was a better deal and if they didnt charge for sauce but good for a quick to-go lunch when you need something to eat.

I'm so excited they finally opened a location in the east village!!! The sushi hand rolls are always fresh, my favorites are the spicy salmon, spicy tuna, and then I leave the third one up to chance. Service cheerful as ever and ready to recommend base on what you feeling today. They feel bigger than the west village location which is a plus! Can't wait until it's warmer to eat outside here otherwise they have some standing room. Would highly recommend this place for everyone!

10/10 loved everything. Tucked in a little hole in the wall on 12th street you'll find a simple and cute pink store. Immediately your eyes will be drawn to the mounds of simple yet elegant sushi rolls. From Shrimp tempura rolls to yellow tail tuna they had it all. We went around 5pm and all the roll still tasted delicious and fresh. My overall favorite was their Volcano roll. It had a great creamy flavor with a kick! However the star of is all were the cutest tiny fishes filled with amazing soy sauce which wasn't too salty and incredibly balanced. Oh and did i mention they have a great deal. 3 full sized rolls for 12 dollars you can't beat it. Sushi counter is a 10/10 quick lunch/dinner spot for the on the go New Yorker.

Sushi counter was so cute! They have a nice little display of all their rolls with vegetarian, pescatarian, and meat options. They have a 3 roll special for $12 and the cutest little soy sauce dripper. Service was super nice and patient as we were deciding on what to order and the rolls themselves were super tasty! I'm not a huge spicy tuna person, but I ended up liking the spicy tuna the best! They don't have a lot of seating, but they do have a small counter with 3 chairs and a few small tables outside as well. Definitely a great on-the-go snack or quick meal!

Made me sick/ gave me symptoms of food-borne illness. It was the only thing I ate that day and I woke up the next day with debilitating stomach issues that lasted the whole day. Not sure how fresh the fish is since it sits behind the glass for who knows how long. 2 stars for friendly staff and fair pricing, but don't know if I'd eat here again.

walked by and saw this place and decided to go in. essentially my dream! easy grab and go cheap sushi lunc, 3 for $12 hand rolls. delicious and fresh, cute interior, good prices, friendly service.

Not great. Poor quality ingredients and just not particularly tasty. Price would be the only redeeming factor but after buying enough for a full meal it runs the same as an average sushi restaurant
