I’ve experienced Sushi Dojo three times now, and every single visit has been a delight. This place strikes the perfect balance between inventive flair and classic reliability, something most restaurants try to do but rarely pull off.
Their menu is a masterclass in blending Tex-Mex, American and Japanese cuisine, with creations like sushi tacos and burritos, sushi fries, orange chicken and excellent ice cream for dessert. Each of these are just as exciting as they are delicious. Yet, they never lose sight of traditional favorite rolls, making it easy for sushi lovers of all kinds to find their perfect bite.
On our most recent visit, Mikayla took wonderful care of both me and my friend, who had begged me to come here with her after being bombarded with glowing TikToks and rave reviews that I could agree with by my own experience.
Mikayla guided us patiently through the menu, wearing the kind of warm, genuine smile that makes you want to follow her recommendations. And we did, with no regrets. She’s got the right energy, knowledge and customer service I look for when I hire staff myself.
She shared how the chefs are happy to customize your order, something you don’t often get at other sushi spots. She also hinted at a secret menu, which immediately became our next culinary goal. What struck me most, though, was the atmosphere behind the counter: a team that felt like a family, with caring owners and proud staff. You can feel it. And you can taste it.
It all adds up, how a smaller-scale restaurant can consistently serve such incredible dishes with top-tier service. It’s the kind of place that not only keeps people coming back but earns new fans every day. We literally drove through a thunderstorm to get there... and we’d do it again. Honestly, next time, we’d drive through a flood if that’s what it takes to try that secret menu.
Congratulations to the owners for building a gem of a place, welcoming, flavorful, full of soul with a proud and knowledgeable staff that enjoys the food as much as your guests.
