Sushi Garage Cocowalk was our last stop in Miami before returning home to California & it was definitely a good choice.
We parked a short ways away & walked over but I'm sure you can find parking close by at the right time of day. Walking in you'll notice there is a ton of seating. High tops surround the sushi bar, regular booths line the walls, there are some stand alone tables, & the outside is covered in tables.
We opted for the high top at the sushi bar and were greeted warmly by one of the chefs while we ordered a bottle of the La Crema Chardonnay ($52) pretty solid, no complaints there.
As our appetizers, we chose the Korean Beef Tacos ($12 for 2, we got 2 orders) and the Fried Short Rib Dumplings ($18 for 5) I will say that I was very impressed with the tacos, really great flavor and laying everything on a small bed of lettuce instead of any sort of bread/starch was perfect, this is something that I would come back for otherwise, I'd opt for the Korean Pork Tacos. Sadly, I'd say that the Fried Short Rib Dumplings fell really flat. The flavor was fine, a bit bland and a bit dry. They were nice to have while we waited for our food but I would have much rather had more tacos or tried something else like a skewer or tartare, oh well!
The two people who were with me both ordered Bento boxes (forgot take a menu photo so I sadly don't remember price but I want to say somewhere between $20-24)
Both boxes came with an assortment of sashimi (salmon, tuna, yellowtail), a spicy tuna roll, a garden salad, vegetable fried rice, & a nice little berry topped pastry for dessert. They were both satisfied and more than full when you consider they had these and some of the appetizers!
15 minutes after the other two in my party were served, I was given my roll (it wasn't very busy at all so I'm not sure what happened there), I opted for the Rosemary Eel roll and I was more than satisfied (almost satisfied enough to forget that it look that long for one roll)
The smoked rosemary sprigs and the aioli/mayo were definitely the highlights of the roll, I was honestly very pleasantly surprised and I'm sad we don't have something similar in California. This was actually the highlight for me (with the tacos coming in at a close second)
Overall, it was a nice experience and I'm glad this was where I had my first taste of Florida sushi!
