Sushi-licious - Review - Ballard - Seattle - The Infatuation

"Ballard just got a new sushi joint with a fun name. At Sushi-licious, the menu is stacked with nigiri and sashimi, plus rolls like salmon skin, a deep-fried Philadelphia, and a baked scallop number. And if you’re still hungry, they’ve got deep-fried Oreos for dessert. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Kayla Sager-Riley

The kindest staff and delicious food - across the range of their reasonable priced menu! Nigiri was super fresh, fried chicken was excellent and spicy tuna roll was sizeable. We’re so lucky to have this new restaurant in the neighborhood and can’t wait to return!

Ordered the miso ramen and fried spicy tuna roll, both were DELICIOUS. They were the perfect portions and priced accordingly. Since they are a newer restaurant, they gave me a sample of the garlic fried chicken and it was AMAZING. Great service and staff. I have already gone back because it was so good.

This spot was once a Katsu burger joint but has reopened as a modern Japanese restaurant. The staff is super friendly, and the prices are reasonable. Where else can you find ramen under $15 in Seattle? Since they just opened, there were a few minor hiccups, but that's totally understandable. If you're after a casual sushi place that's also your wallet friendly, do check out this place!

During their soft opening, I came here with a group of 16 people on a Sunday night around 5pm and the restaurant was more or less able to support our group. I had called ahead, so they were expecting us and there was no wait. People were able to trickle in on their own time. The prices were reasonable and the restaurant helped me put tables together so everyone could be by each other. The bill at the end was around $400 with the included gratuity, so each person spent around $27, with some ordering more and some ordering less. They could not separate the check which is understandable, and out of all the orders, only one roll seemed to be missing. Ballard has a few sushi options within blocks of one another and while I like Sam’s Sushi which is down the street, I would likely never be able to bring a group of this size (16) to all sit close to one another there. The layout of one of Katsu Burger’s former homes is open and when we were there, all windows and doors were wide open, which seemed to create the illusion of even more space. They have WiFi. I may bring another group here but it will be a smaller group since as of now, they cannot do separate checks, which is once again to be expected for a group of this size.

This place is so lovely. The baked mushrooms were exquisite, sushi had the most tender and perfect rice, portions were incredibly generous. Boneless fried chicken was flavorful, juicy, and very crunchy on the outside. Even the veggies in the udon were al dente. Several photos are half eaten, because we just couldn't help ourselves. The chef really knows what he's doing here. Even the gossip behind us was hilarious. Something about a husband being left for their house boy? I'll take seconds of that tea any day. Loved the decor as well. We will be back many times.

Yelp
I was absolutely heartbroken when I learned that katsu Burger closed at this location, but I could not have asked for a better new business in its place. We had dinner here earlier this week and loved their extensive menu and affordable prices. This is the perfect spot to come with a group and try a handful of different items. Everything from their ramen to their sushi rolls to their their Korean fried Chicken was great and we loved being able to share and split items. Something that I've rarely seen at other restaurants is the ability to get a half roll size. It was really nice that they're also wasn't a large up charge to do this. While I'll always miss katsu Burger, there are a few other locations and I'm so happy to have this new sushi ramen and chicken spot in Ballard

Yelp
I passed by the restaurant and saw the grand opening sign on 8/13. I was in the mood for Korean fried chicken so I decided to try it for dinner. Staff told me they opened today! Their menu simply listed food items in black ink and the design was pretty minimal, but included a lot of sushi and Korean fried chicken (boneless or with bones/wings). I got the chicken with bones with gochujang garlic sauce that was around $9.5. While I waited, the staff kindly offered a few more pieces of chickens! The chicken came out crispy at the right temperature. I also liked how the sauce was not too garlicky as I've had ones that had way too strong of garlic flavor in other restaurants. Overall, I'm happy that there's a new establishment nearby where I could indulge in Korean fried chicken!

New restaurant in the Ballard area. Prices are reasonable and worth the visit. They also provide chicken

Yelp
I was really excited to see a choice for Korean fried chicken in Ballard. We got the boneless wings and the cucumber salad. Service was friendly and the food was delicious. The chicken's batter was crispy and crunchy. We tried the soy garlic, honey, and spicy garlic and texted friends in the neighborhood to recommend it before we'd even got through the meal. The daikon and the cucumber salad were a refreshing light change from the richness of the chicken. As of August 2025, the prices are incredibly reasonable for Ballard. I'm excited to try other parts of the menu, so I'll definitely be back!

Yelp
My wife and I just happened to be here on their second day open. The food was delicious and SO reasonably priced - cheaper and higher quality than the average restaurant in Ballard. We had some boneless chicken, a friend sushi roll, gyoza, and miso soup and everything was delicious. The fried Oreo dessert was super tasty as well. It was clearly a family owned business and the waiters were super attentive and friendly - even asking us for feedback on how they could improve. Overall it was a great meal at a killer price and we will be back really soon! We are really hoping this place becomes a staple in Ballard as I could see us putting it in our regular dine-out rotation. Thanks Sushi Licious!

Yelp
Our first visit of hopefully many! Food was great, service was excellent and the prices are unbeatable in Ballard. The first thing we noticed was how affordable everything was. There's a lot of variety on the menu so we ordered a few dishes and the quality didn't disappoint. On top of this the servers were super friendly and seemed genuinely interested in hearing feedback and making sure customers had a good experience.
