"The Japanese seas provide a rich bounty of seasonal delights: spring offers an abundance of fresh shellfish, while winter brings the indulgence of rich, fatty fish. At Sushi Masato, guests enjoy this premium seasonal produce flown in daily from Tokyo's renowned Toyosu Market. The experience is elevated by Chef Masato's exceptional techniques, perfected over his years in Japan and New York. You may request to be served by Chef Masato when making a reservation." - Michelin Inspector

Had the most memorable omakase here—and it’s absolute paradise for sushi lovers. Every piece of fish was so fresh it tasted like it had just come off the boat: the buttery toro melted smoothly on the tongue, the briny uni had zero fishy aftertaste, and even the simple tuna nigiri shone with its bright, clean flavor. The chef’s craft made it even better—each sushi had the perfect balance of vinegared rice (not too sticky, not too sour) and perfectly sliced fish, so every bite felt intentional. If you live for that “just-caught” freshness in sushi, this spot is non-negotiable.

I can only praise how delicious the omakase was. Highly recommend to try. They change the menu by Japan’s season. That’s every 2-4 months. I had the spring set this time. The ingredients seems to be sourced from Japan so the they’re adapted the menu accordingly. Excellent Omakase experience.

Sushi Masato is a solid name in Bangkok for sushi omakase. I have been here several times and Chef Masato never disappoint. Top notch seasonal ingredients, best techniques to bring out the best quality and taste. Since its always what's in season, you will never be bored of what you get here. Of course reservation needed. And parking is not the most convenient here

Always the best experience. Once you’ve been to Masato, you will feel it hard to go to some other place. You already gotten spoiled with the best standard Omakase. Chef Masato was always super friendly and always talked to all the guests. He would also sometimes brought his fish books to show us what he’s serving. His food always surprised us. It’s so so good that I want to go having his Omakase every month. Unfortunately it’s not very easy to get the reservation here. Usually full within one minute so be prepared.

Sushi Masato offers an excellent omakase experience that stays true to traditional Japanese flavors. The ingredients are incredibly fresh, and the chef uses real wasabi, which is a rare treat even among high-end sushi spots. The craftsmanship in each piece reflects a deep respect for tradition rather than flashy creativity. Their cocktail selection is also impressive, complementing the meal perfectly. Service throughout the evening was attentive, professional, and warm, making the entire experience even more enjoyable. However, there are a few drawbacks. Booking a seat here is complicated and can be frustrating if you’re not persistent. The restaurant’s location isn’t the most convenient either, and it’s worth noting there’s no parking or valet service available. Lastly, if you’re looking for innovative or modern twists on sushi, Sushi Masato might not be for you, as the focus here is strictly on authenticity rather than experimentation. Overall, if you value tradition, top-quality ingredients, and excellent service, Sushi Masato is well worth a visit—just be prepared for a bit of a hassle getting a reservation.

I return to Sushi Masato every three months like clockwork — and every time, it’s a masterclass in omakase perfection. Chef Masato never fails to impress with his exceptional skill, creativity, and dedication to the freshest seasonal ingredients. From the luxurious caviar-topped sushi to pristine Hokkaido uni and beautifully balanced cooked dishes, every bite is a celebration of craftsmanship. Located in the heart of Bangkok, the restaurant is an oasis for serious sushi lovers. Be sure to factor in traffic and arrive on time — this is an experience you won’t want to miss a second of. The intimate counter setting, attentive service, and ever-evolving menu make each visit a unique and memorable culinary journey. Truly one of Bangkok’s finest.

What a memorable experience. Everything was handled with care and the chef lifts everyone’s mood up. I always enjoyed meals made by happy chef, the food they made usually taste better :) and knowledgeable too! The location was away from the Main Street, making it very quiet and private. While the space isn’t very big, the atmosphere was cozy and peaceful. I can only praise how delicious the omakase was. Highly recommend to try. They change the menu by Japan’s season. That’s every 2-4 months. I had the spring set this time. The ingredients seems to be sourced from Japan so the they’re adapted the menu accordingly. Will definitely be returning to try more of the menu. Also their pickles are amazing, I think I had too many.
