Sushi Mockï

Been here twice now because both times JingHe was full. The food is decidedly mediocre. Maybe I'm too judgemental because I was born in Japan but I had the sunomono salad with octopus. I don't mind frozen octopus as long as it's been fully defrosted... It wasn't and there was not enough ponzu sauce on the cucumbers so it was bland and tasteless cucumbers with slightly crunchy flavorless octopus. Meh. I had the chicken yakisoba excited about tender chicken and tonkatsu sauce which is how you make yakisoba. Instead I had dried chicken flavored with curry and mushrooms in my yakisoba... Disappointing. My daughter had the house salad that was drowned in the house ginger dressing... Too much dressing. I'll do a better job of making reservations at JingHe so this doesn't happen again. 😞

Food was so delicious and gorgeous. I got the lunch combo and subbed the california roll for the salmon and the salmon was really fresh and the other two rolls were delicious and perfectly crispy. My friend got the lover roll and it ws good but actually spicy (spicy mayo uses tabasco i think). Overall, I recommend!

I’m honestly amazed how good this was. I door dashed the lover roll and the tuna crispy rice. It was AMAzING! The tuna crispy rice had the perfect crunch to it. I devoured everything in less than 10 minutes. And the prices are insanely reasonable.

Beautiful ambience in the restaurant, from the rnb hits to the decor. Friendly, attentive service. Lychee Martini and phoenix roll (round) were most delicious. Temptation roll was pretty tasty too. Everything was fresh and we had enough for leftovers, which saved pretty well and ate perfectly the next day. Overall, definitely recommend.

Amazing! Probably the best spicy salmon and spicy yellowtail I’ve had. They mix in spices with the salmon which I love. The spring rolls were so perfect. Was so good almost finished it before taking a photo. I will be bike. Convenient next to bike trails and workers are very friendly.

The restaurant was empty at 6pm on a Sunday. when we walked in, we still had to get the attention of the hostess/waiter, who was just sitting down on their phone, in order for us to be seated. After a while, nobody ever came back to take our order so we just ended up leaving.

Genuinely the best sushi I’ve had in a really long time! We’re visiting from Oklahoma and they treated us so kindly and the food was delicious!! If you love sushi, THIS IS THE PLACE TO COME!!! (Gyoza as the second pic and Hollywood roll as the first🤤)

Sushi was amazing and the two gentleman who served us were very friendly and helpful. Order the crispy rice for an appetizer and the California, LA, SMU, and Uptown rolls. They were all delicious! Can’t wait to go back for happy hour!

THE STAFF IS AMAZING! I want to start this review with that highlight because everyone working during our visit was very friendly, accommodating, and quick to provide recommendations. If this was a service only review, it would be 5 stars. Unfortunately, the other aspects were not as positive. To begin, upon entering, the restaurant had a notable cleaning product and old fish scent. Usually, I would leave immediately, but being on a time constraint, I decided to stick around. We ordered a cucumber martini, old fashion, edamame, miso soup, and a few sushi rolls. To begin, the cucumber martini was strong but honestly could've easily been replicated elsewhere as there was nothing special, and the old fashion tasted cheap in addition to having a maraschino cherry as opposed to the typical black cocktail cherries. Onto food, the miso soup was bland and the edamame were soggy as if microwaved. In transparency, I usually would list out which sushi rolls we got, but in this instance, I feel all the sushi rolls were similar enough in execution that the detail of "which roll it was" is irrelevant. All of the rolls were overly sauced and resembled "okay" quality buffet sushi. For ~$100 tab, I definitely expected better quality and options. All in all, I do not plan to return, but I really hope ownership can increase the quality in order to benefit both the patrons and the employees.

Yes absolutely yes recommend The sushi the fried rice the spring rolls Everything. We had a few rolls but my one of my favs was the crispy rice we ate it so fast we didn't even take a picture of it. Absolutely delicious. The fried rice has a diff taste but a good one. The spring rolls perfect. The house salad is fresh. Can't wait to order some more

Went to big D to try some prime rib. That was slated for Sunday brunch so what shall we do about Saturday lunch? We did some shopping and ended up at Sushi Mocki. Not my GF's favorite cuisine, but she found a noodle dish that met her approval. There is zero chance I could name every roll that hit the table. We literally ordered half the damn menu. When we thought there wasn't anything left more food showed up! I can however touch on appetizers; we kinda went wild there too. Good but foodservice grade dumplings. Shrimp Panko were perfectly fried and paired well with the dipping sauce. Favorite bites were the Beef Tataki with Ponzu and Sriracha. Runner up was the Hamachi with thinly sliced Serrano peppers. Main reason for the 4 star nod was the service. This dude never let our drinks run dry and busted his rump bringing plate after plate after plate. Probably the most sushi I've consumed in years. We spent the next 2 hours walking it off at the fancy mall down the road.

So many sushi options made very well! Great service! We can in close to closing and they treated us like it was the afternoon. They are very welcoming the service was fast

Great service, delicious food, and a laid back vibe. Our group of four came in as soon as they opened on a rainy Saturday. We had the place to ourselves! Our waitress was so sweet and attentive. I needed a gluten-free meal and they were more than accommodating, making the chicken teppanyaki bowl with tamari instead of soy sauce. Other menu highlights were the shrimp fried rice and the seafood soup. The green tea had a depth of flavor that's hard to find or recreate. The large windows provided us with excellent people-watching opportunities.

They have a lychee martini that is out of this world. Love the lovers roll, so took friends out for a return visit so they could try it. They also loved it.

Had Sushi Mocki for dinner for the first time and it was really good! It is an intimate place, perfect for a chill date night. It's located just below the Angelika Theatre so it's a cool place to check out before or after a show. We were greeted by our server right when we walked in and the service was very friendly, good and prompt. I tried the ahi tower which was tasty and I got the shrimp tempura roll, which was also delicious. Hands down would go back again!

when i visited sushi mocki, i went in blind. i had never heard of it. after dining in, they definitely made a customer out me. i went during lunch hour, and it wasnt too busy at all. i was able to be immediately seated. this place is filled with natural light! although the space is small, it was still very relaxing to be surrounded by natural light. everything was also very clean. i had two rolls of: lover's and spicy tuna. both were excellent + fresh. i also ordered a lychee martini, which is one of best lychee martinis i've had in town. my server was so sweet, he definitely made my experience memorable.

Really great sushi spot with lots of options. It has a long list of appetizers and wide variety of rolls. The salmon boat was just salmon sashimi with crab mix inside with a quail egg yolk on top. Pretty tasty for simple bite, the yolk provides a lovely creaminess that makes it taste luscious. The white tuna nigiri was sliced thick and was very hardy. The smu roll was flavourful and had a good mix of toppings with a nice crunch from the tempura flakes. It tasted very fresh and well prepared. The dallas roll was a bit of an odd ball. It reads on the menu like an elevated Rainbow roll. Instead, it's kind of a mixed fish salad with no sauce or anything. It made for an interesting texture i like, but my wife did not. We will be back to try the riceless rolls and some sashimi. Our server was wonderful as well.

Really wanted to love this place since it's a stones throw from the house. Unfortunately, the sushi is very average BUT the staff and hospitality are amazing. I came for lunch with a lunch date and we got the gyoza to start. We also got the SMU roll, some salmon sashimi, and the big time roll. Everything was pretty underwhelming. The specialty rolls were over done with spicy mayo and creaminess. I get that some of these should have that but it was just over the top. The sashimi quality was more of what you'd see at a grocery story than at a restaurant. Which is totally fine as long as you know what you are getting. The highlight for me was the big time roll. Super cool presentation and tasty. Still over creamed with the spicy mayo but it seemed like there was some fish in there somewhere! The host was a super warm, welcoming, nice gentleman. He's what salvaged this into a 3 star instead of a 2 star experience. All in all, I'm a bit bummed about the spot. Wish I would have fallen in love!

I went here for lunch and I have to say I had an amazing experience. The manager was so kind and personable and the restaurant was very clean. I loved the art work on the walls was vibrant! Everything we ate was so fresh and so delicious! I am looking forward to returning soon

All I can say is WOW! I was shopping in the area and stumbled in here on a whim, soooo happy I did. The rolls here are DELICIOUS. The fish tasted fresh and I love the variety of rolls on their menu. Service was fast and friendly. The place is small with no frills but it really doesn't need that because the food speaks for itself. I tried the soft shell crab appetizer, YUM! The Picasso roll and temptation roll were perfection. Will definitely be back to try more rolls!

This place was really good! They have a long wait, even on the weekdays, so beware! Very sparse parking as well. But the food is definitely delicious. Lots of flavor! This place is super small so maybe that's why there's such a long wait, I really enjoy the rolls, the rice to ingredient ratio wasn't too bad. The tofu was really delicious. And they serve alcohol so that really helped! I would say the only thing is I wish I tried more, they definitely have a pretty big menu. So no what you want before you get there you'll be waiting a long time

Found out Sushi Mocki through instagram, so decided to give it a shot. I came here with 2 people so we decided to sit outside since it's quite small inside. Our waiter was really cool and helped us pick out which rolls we wanted to try. We have 2 instead of 3 because one of people in my group did not want to eat. The rolls we got were uptown and lovers roll. Highly recommend the lover rolls, it was amazing! The uptown was good as well. The shrimp tempura was alright. It wasn't bad but it wasn't great either. The sauce that it comes with also was okay, it doesn't give "thai chili".

Sushi at Mocki was a delicious idea before our comedy club date at Hyena. We got our order rainbow roll, dallas roll, and SMU roll, and ate every last effin' bite! I loved the fishtank immersive wall behind my husband. Our waitress was great and took care of us promptly, great SOLE in the wall sushi, a hidden gem. I'd come back for more when I'm in the area.

Loved the service. We stopped by to grab something to eat before heading to watch a movie. I ordered the Gyoza and Shrimp Tempura from the happy hour menu. A lot of appetizers and rolls you can choose from the happy hour menu. Orders came out quickly. Then we ordered Chicken Fried Rice and dinner portion Chicken Teriyaki bowl . The food was delicious! I paid and didn't pay attention that a sushi roll was charged accidentally on my order. The server and manager immediately notified me and made the adjustments needed!I am so thankful for honest people! Totally recommend this place!

I work nearby so I wanted to try the new place. I opted salmon skin salad and citrus Brussels sprouts to keep it lite. Everything about this place was just okay. The salad was okay but no extra hmpf. I actually had to inform them they missed an item in the salad. The Brussel sprouts didn't taste like there was sauce. I am glad more is coming to mocking bird station. However, this place is meh.

Me and my partner went to Sushi Mocki for dinner last night. The service was great at first. The server immediately realized I was pregnant and suggested rolls that were fully cooked. I went on to order a roll and my partner got beef fried rice. He was very disturbed to find a hair in his rice and it threw off the whole experience. The server was apologetic and asked if he wanted it remade but didn't offer to take the rice off the bill. Then when the bill came it was extremely awkward because who wants to pay for that. The server said "i can ask my manager" and it was taken off. The server was sweet but handled the situation poorly. Not sure if we will be back.

This place is one of the best sushi places I've been to in Dallas! The rolls are so tasty and made with such quality! You have to try the Salmon press roll, lovers roll, any of the mango ones are good and unique!

I work right next door, and Sushi Mocki is my go-to place for lunch. The servers are very chill and it's a nice little place. The food takes a little while to come out, but it's well worth it.

I didn't realize Sushi Mocki was new, i just wanted some sushi haha but we went in really late at night, close to closing time and they still served us without any complaints. I ordered the Big Time roll (which was fantabulous btw) and my friend ordered the Spicy Salmon roll. The spicy Mayo was sooo good, we wished we could take some home with us lol the staff was very friendly and the lady taking our order was quite attentive. I only gave it 4 stars because the water tasted like fish and had no ice and we didn't get any straws or napkins. I still really love the food and atmosphere tho ! They have a beautiful wall mural that was just gorgeous.

An unassuming sushi restaurant locating at the corner of a shopping center in Mockingbird Station. I was looking for a quick bite to eat when I saw this place. A nice casual place for sushi. Plentiful of outdoor seating. The dinning area is a bit small. But their sushi! It's great. I ordered the spider roll (soft shell crab) and their recommended Lover's roll. Both were delicious. Made fresh, not too sniff and holds their form until it hits your tongue. Every bite fill with flavor. Their spider roll is not chewy at all. Usually when you get a spider roll, the soft shell crab is fried way to long. Not here and my jaws thank me for that. Now their recommended roll, Lover's roll. Love it. Crab meat, avocado, cucumber, and topped with seared salmon, scallion, spicy mayo and unagi sauce. It's a flavor fest in your mouth. Each bite is a nice size. Not overly big where you need multiple bites and not too small like a snack size. Just perfect. A hidden gem in the area? Possibly!

A quaint little sushi restaurant with great cocktails. While the restaurant is small the food and service is excellent. The Santiago roll is amazing and make sure to ask you waiter what they recommend. For cocktails, the lychee or cucumber Martinis are well made. Overall a good place for good sushi and cocktails.

If you like happy hour with cheap drinks and sushi come here . The services was ok and sushi was edible . Not a high end place so don't expect high quality fishes here. Small place for a quick happy hour.

5 for food, 3 for service. Game today around 430. Great location, inviting dining area with maybe 10 tables outside there was only one others table seated when we got there. Menu is excellent and everything was tasty. The salmon nigiri was outstanding. We thought the service was a little slow. Rolls, nigiri and edemame all call you at the same time. Didn't get a water refill or a check in on the until we got her attention. Happy hour prices rock! Can't wait to come back

Got the poke bowl via delivery - very small portion for the price. Taste was okay, might have better luck with their sushi.

Cucumber martini hits a little different...Alaskan sushi is orgasmic. Sushi was smooth to the tongue...great date night location highly recommend. Till this day we talk about our date at sushi mocki

Enjoyed our visit to Sushi Mocki. The space is great, it's open and clean looking with a cool mural on the wall and an fairly open kitchen. 105 outside prevented us from sitting in the huge outdoor space but I'm sure it will be great when temps cool down. I look forward to sitting out there...a lot. We had a few different rolls, my favorites were the Santiago and one (I can't remember the name) but it's rice less with salmon and rolled in cucumber. The fish all seemed nice and fresh with good texture and tasted great. We also enjoyed the tempura and agedashi tofu as appetizers.

The best takeout sushi we've had!! Got the big time roll, edamame, and miso soup. The big time roll was interesting it was like a sandwich but really good. Edamame salted perfectly and the miso hit the spot. 10/10 excited to go back!

A friend recommened Sushi Mocki. We walked in on Saturday after the main rush. We got a great table by the window for some people watching. The service was fast, the Kirin cold. We got ahi tuna tower and for an appetizer it was the right amount. My wife and I split the Sushi Dinner which is the chefs choice of sushi. I had never had "super white" tuna but was impressed. The staff helps each other out. Everyone around us seemed to be having a good time. Its a good spot at Mo ckingbird Station. You should check it out.

delicious sushi . i recommend this restaurant. they have a menu with many tasty options. my friend and i had spring rolls, the sashimi sampler, and the spicy salmon rolls and they were all great. the ambience on the inside was a little lacking so if it's nice i would recommend sitting outside cause it's so pretty!

I had the pleasure of trying Sushi Mocki before a movie at Mockingbird station last Friday night. It was a little iffy to begin with. There is a sign on the door, ABSOLUTELY! No food or drink brought in from outside. Well, OK. It was 104 F outside and I had a can of seltzer water with me, inside a Koozie. After I was taken to a table, one server who had nothing to do with our table came over and said "I have to take your drink. The sign on the door states no food or drink brought in from the outside." I uncovered my can and handed it to the server (female, glasses, never saw a smile from her face the entire time I was there, and I had full view of the entire restaurant. Guadalupe' was our server and she was delightful. When I told her about losing my beverage, she apologized, brought two large glasses of ice water and again left the table. She came back with a bottle of Jarritos soda water, which was great and told me it was on the house. SURPRISE! OK. I am no longer pouting. As stated, we were there to catch a movie, so we were watching our clocks. We ordered a pinot noir and a Sapporo and continued to look at the menu. Our server brought out a pinot grigio and it was immediately returned and quickly replace with red. We ordered edemame and goyza as appetizers and to be followed with a spider roll and an Alaska roll. The rolls came out first (disappointing) and were presented beautifully, plenty of wasabi and gracious amount of picked ginger on the ends of our entree plate was added to our rolls. The appetizers made it to our table shortly after. I asked for garlic chili paste and was told that they "Only have sriracha." OK. I was just looking to add a bit more heat and flavoring to my soy and wasabi. Chefs do those kinds of thing, ya know? The spider roll, my favorite to order when soft shell crab is available, was very tasty. I was hoping to see the tiny legs comin out of both ends, making the 2 dimensional sliced sushi roll view become 3D. Sadly it wasn't but, it was delicious. The Alaska roll was also fresh and tasty. The goyza was nicely served with 5 dumplings on a bed of mixed field greens and manicured vegetables. Each dumpling was a delight, flavorful, and the ingredients were not low quality, but freshly made by hand. RECOMMEND! The edimame was a large serving, so many that we did not finish them all. However my guest asked for salt to put on them. Guadalupe' brought us a small dish of course salt to sprinkle with our fingers across all those al dente cooked beans. We also ordered the softshell crab appetizer as we were finishing our meal. It came out quickly and there were the little long legs I was looking for, four pieces of crab, looked like a sculpture. Bravo chef! As I asked for the check, the owner (?) came over to the table to personally greet us, asked to bring us another complimentary glass of wine and beer. "Well, OK THEN!" He also gave us a VIP membership card good for 20% off our next check." Our check was unbelievable low. For everything I described, we were only charge around $62. Of course, Guadalupe' got a 20% tip, but still, $74 for what we got was worth writing about. I must talk about the atmosphere. LOUD! There were four young women sitting next to us when we first arrived and they each had strong enough voices to go audition for musical theater, if not opera. As soon as they left, there was a calm in the air and food even tasted better. I know, some of you may say "What do you expect on a Friday night, right across from SMU dorms?" Acoustics do play a big part in understanding how to operate a restaurant. The energy of all the employees was high and viewing many other patrons, the energy carried over to those dining. What was missing for me was to be able to sit at the bar and see the chef preparing the food. Oh, the do have a bar, which is where they serve beverages. (sigh). Anyway, to get to the point, I will be returning. Sushi Mocki has only been opened 2 months and it appears they have most of their act together, but I will make sure on my next trip to not bring in a can of water.

I can't wait to go back the sushi was so delicious I went during their happy hour and the place was very low key (which I love). Service was fast and my server was so awesome, I can't wait to go back!

So excited to have a GREAT sushi place at Mockingbird Station. Perfect spot for sushi and a drink before seeing a movie. There just aren't a ton of really good restaurants in the area so this is a perfect addition! The rolls were fresh, not skimpy on the fish, and just plain delicious. Also had the tuna tower (yum) and a riceless roll with cucumber. Can't remember the name but so good and fresh. They have a patio out front (way too hot to use right now). Several beers on tap too!

Excellent food! We had the tuna tower, seaweed salad, SMU roll, Picasso roll & Armando Special. All were exceptional. Eat here!

Very good! Went on a Monday and it wasn't busy. Everyone was very nice and attentive. Plenty of rolls to choose from and a lot of them sounded really good. The Picasso was spicier than I imagined it would be but was still good. I loved the temptation roll! The spring rolls were good but were really hot, so give them time to cool off a bit if you get them. Their happy hour looks great, and I will definitely be coming back for that and to try some other rolls! Highly recommended giving this place a try!

Terrible food, miso soup too small portion, yellowtail was very thin and soggy, soft shell crab was burnt and had a wang taste to it.

I shared california rolls, dragon rolls, philadelphia rolls, and hollywood rolls and WOW just wow. i am so impressed and excited to come back for more! my friend left her cup at the table and the waiter sprinted out to give it to her! chikfila service in sushi form

Get the Santiago and the Lovers roll. The Armando roll and spicy tuna were excellent too, but the previous mentioned were some of my favorite. Service was friendly and not that slow even with them being crowded! Evan was a great server. We didn't try Sashimi so can't comment on that.

Tuna tower was good. No mango as advertised on the menu. Tuna strawberry roll was just OK. Menu advertised mango, no mango yet again. Bill came. They charged $20 for roll instead of $16 as menu advertised. Music to loud for a lunch. Won't go back.
