"Sushi Momento sits on the border of Brighton and Brookline, and its nearly 3,000 square feet of space include ample dining space and a sushi counter. Sushi Momento features a selection of Japanese dishes from chef Kenji Wong, whose previous experience includes time at Michael Mina’s downtown restaurant Pabu. Dishes range from maki rolls to seafood and vegetable entrees, including wagyu fried rice, salt and pepper rock shrimp, tuna tartare, and ribeye with a sweet potato puree. Sushi Momento also serves decorative cocktails, like raspberry mojitos; there’s a full bar. Sushi Momento is open for dinner seven days a week, from 5 to 10 p.m. Saturday through Thursday and from 4:30 to 10:30 p.m. on Friday." - Dana Hatic

Google
The service was fine but the one star is for charging high-end restaurant prices for near-food court quality. They put the check face up like a cheap restaurant or bar, run your card right at the table and have you tip on the screen while the server holds it. Definitely avoid the ramen and the sushi. The waitress told me it was tonkatsu broth but it was a very Americanized shoyu with overcooked noodles. Tasty roll tasted like cream cheese (I didn’t order it).

After seeing their Instagram posts all over I was dying to try this place out. I am a huge fan of sushi and am always looking for new places to go and so jumped at the chance to come here for my friends birthday. The restaurant itself has a modern vibe to it and is really spacious. We made a reservation for a Sunday night however when we arrived it wasn't too busy. We ordered the chefs choice sashimi, tuna tartare and a bunch of rolls. The sashimi and tartare were absolutely divine. The fish was fresh and the portion was adequate. We asked for a couple more taro chips with our Tartare because we only got 3 initially...hardly enough to eat all that salmon deliciousness. The rolls we ordered were very good as well and also portioned really well. This is a great option for a comfortable dine in sushi restaurant in the area.

Google
Good amount of selection of sushi and Maki rolls. The handrolls were bigger than most places. The takoyaki was very filling. Hamachi kama was very meaty. The salmon tartare were delicious, the taro crunch paired really well. The sashimi were very fresh and thick pieces. The ramen was very flavorful.

Google
Randomly found this gem over the weekend when we were around the area for an eye appointment. It’s fairly new, but had good reviews already. The menu is limited, however, it’s enough to help with any of your cravings from sushi to rice to noodles. My bowl of sashimi bits were very good, fish was very fresh and honestly, I did not add any sauce to the fish and it was amazing already. Price is on the higher end with the amount of food you get, however, it’s location is probably fairly expensive. I’ll definitely come back for round two when I’m in the area.

Better get there early to get parking! It's buzzing again. I like them all. Sushi, ramen and fried rice! Updated Nov 2019: New menu and it's even better. I had tempura udon and it was delicious. Good for 2 people to end the meal (after sushi). Also tried cheesecake and mochi. Divine! I had been to Basho and Douzo before and immediately wanted to try Sushi Momento at Cleveland Circle. Meter parking was abundant. The restaurant had super high ceiling which made up for the fact that it was slightly below ground level. They had a great cocktail list (plus mock tails). Daughter wanted udon soup with chicken which was not on the menu (menu was seafoods) and they made it for her. The best deal is chef choice's sushi and sashimi platter for $80. It was enough to feed up to 4! All in all I was impressed with food quality! Staffs were attentive and friendly!

Google
Delicious food, love this place and really enjoyed. Highly recommended for Sushi lovers and you can find fresh and delicious food from here. Fried rice was amazing. Nicely decorated dishes.

Google
The sushi quality, is fantastic. But, the female waitress with blonde and black hair needs to be nicer to customers. Or she needs to leave the food service industry because her attitude is terrible. Also, please turn the AC back on inside the restaurant.

Google
Very good sushi. The chu toro was very fresh and melts in your mouth, one of the best I had in a while actually. The Chef Sushi Special is also very good, with lots of different varieties of fish. The portion for the chirashi is pretty big but it's also very delicious!

Yelp
So happy I finally came here and I absolutely enjoyed it. What I learned it's the same owners of Douzo and Basho. The only reason why discoveredit is because Douzo covers were on the chopsticks. I enjoys the chef's special, uni and the edaname, gyoza and the pistachio chocolate gelato...yumo. totally would come here again and I've thoroughly enjoyed it.

Yelp
Not bad! I arrived early to the area before a meeting so I decided to stop in to Sushi Momento. I was quickly seated and ordered the sushi plate with lobster miso. The service was good, though I felt like I was being stared at while I ate due to the speed of the service when I needed something, which I don't know if this was a good or a bad thing, it certainly made me feel self conscious. The sushi was good, it was a bit heavier than I am used to on the rice, but it was still tasty. My only real disappointment was the miso. It was serve at a boiling temperature, which does a multitude of sins. First, it overcooks the lobster. Second, it burns off the probiotics of the miso and delicate smells of the Dashi. Lastly, it burns my taste buds when I start sipping and quickly realize that I lost a lot of my sense of taste, which affected the full enjoyment of my sushi. If I'm in the area, I may try this place again, but I certainly won't be ordering any miso!

Yelp
Quiet nice little Japanese restaurant with wide variety of dishes to try. See pictures for recommendations. The service was decent--no complaint!

Yelp
I know this place closed. Unsure why it closed down but my boyfriend and I loved this restaurant! We mainly only got sushi sets but loved it every single time! The quality at this place was one of the better in Boston. I thought the price was very reasonable for the quality! Regardless, my favorite restaurant in Boston, so we were very saddened to see we could not order anymore from here :(

Jules K.

Yelp
The atmosphere was nice but felt the price was a bit overpriced. My little one ordered the pork ramen, and it had so many shredded cabbage and bean sprouts in it, it was hard for him to get past it. My husband and I ordered a dish that was 36 and 40 some dollar sushi meals and it came with no miso or salad sides. Things tasted fine, but the price seemed steeper than Newton, for a place with disposable chopsticks. Service was kind and I appreciated the water without ice. Another review said the miso soup was too hot, my kid also mentioned she burnt her tongue on her miso, but it smelled nice.

George L.

Yelp
We came for lunch. This place is located at Cleveland Circle and had ample meter parking. We were promptly seated upon arrival. Our server was friendly and attentive. We thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered except the Spicy Seafood Ramen. The ramen itself was cooked well but the soup lacked flavor. Definitely worth another visit.

Yelp
Sushi Momento is located at 399 Chestnut Hill Ave in Brookline, Ma. There is metered street parking around the restaurant. The restaurant is also in close proximity to the green line Cleveland Circle train station. It is a short drive from Boston College and the Saint Elizabeth Hospital. I treated my husband to weekday lunch. There was only one couple dining inside when when we were seated. When we left, only one additional patron entered the restaurant. This goes to show the clear impact of Covid. Even the waitress said their offering was limited as a result. The cold, white interior made the restaurant feel even more sterile. Luckily, our waitress was very friendly and attentive. She was good to my three years old daughter. The full dinner menu was available to order from during lunch. I ordered the chef's selection of sashimi and the chef's selection of sushi to sample their offering. Everything we tried was fresh. My husband also ordered the wagyu beef fried rice. It was very, very tasty. The restaurant uses Japanese short grain rice and I think this made a huge difference. I think the dining experience would have been better had we came during dinner service and the restaurant was more lively. The main reason why I wanted to try Sushi Momento was for their famous fruits dessert platter as pictured by many Yelpers. My daughter loves fruits. Unfortunately, the restaurant stopped serving this. I was very disappointed. I don't think this will be a destination spot for me. With that said, I still recommend this restaurant if it is close to you and to give them a try. See my pictures!

Yelp
Came for dinner on a Saturday night. The sushi was fresh, the service was excellent. A real neighborhood gem!

Yelp
Good sushi & fresh fish in a chic, (almost too) boogie, atmosphere. Food here was good and exactly what you want from a sushi spot - super fresh. There wasn't anything particularly special about this spot OTHER THAN the warm sake which was the highlight for me. Why was the warm sake so good you ask? Well it was so good because it was served in a ceramic bowl which is now my standard. Why? Because it kept it hot!!!! Hot sake is supposed to be hot and many sushi spots serve it in low quality cups and I'm left with cold sake after 15 minutes :/ I truly have a hard time ordering hot sake out now...seriously. Good spot for sushi & sashimi and if you go - order the warm sake !

Jan F.

Yelp
Very good quality, but stull the price simply doesn't cut it even considering the average cost around Boston, nor does the quality reach the level of being exceptional to justify any price tag that comes with it.

Jose Frank A.

Yelp
I was in Boston this weekend and tried this restaurant that was very close from my hotel. Service was very good, fast and friendly. The ambiance was quiet, not too much people (at least at the time that we ate). The food was really good. We ordered the rainbow roll, spicy tuna roll, tuna crispy rice and pork gyozas. The only reason why I'm giving 4 stars and not 5 is because I found that the rolls were a little bit big. The rest was amazing.

Hebe L.

Yelp
This place is modern and clean. However it difficult to find parking. The server was nice and we only waited for a bit. The food is good in general. I love their fried calamari! I like the mochi trio. It's a seasonal flavored Japanese rice cake with ice cream, they let you choose three flavor! I chose lychee and matcha. Usually I prefer lychee than matcha, but I think there matcha is better here. The $19.95 Chef Toro Special wasn't that fresh, it has a strong smell and the sauce and spice couldn't cover it.

Wendy C.

Yelp
Good amount of selection of sushi and Maki rolls. The handrolls were bigger than most places. The takoyaki was very filling. Hamachi kama was very meaty. The salmon tartare were delicious, the taro crunch paired really well. The sashimi were very fresh and thick pieces. The ramen was very flavorful.

Jay C.

Yelp
Went for lunch. The host was not very engaged when I walked in and I had to ask if the restaurant was open. The menu is difficult to navigate and misleading. The photos of the maki don't indicate how many pieces are in a serving and you can't find out until the server tells you how many pieces there will be. Sometimes 6, sometimes 8. That led me to wonder about the accuracy of the rest of the menu. So choosing what to order was a bit uncomfortable. Also, the lunch specials are at the very back. Some people might assume there are no lunch specials before they get to the end of the menu. Perhaps they should have a separate sheet of lunch specials. I ordered nabeyaki udon, and the kitchen kindly accommodated my seafood allergies. The broth was tasty, but there were very few vegetables. I wish there had been more because I am used to getting more vegetables in my nabeyaki udon. Unfortunately, the shrimp tempura that came with it was unbelievably greasy; absolutely saturated with oil, flavorless, and inedible. The tempura dipping sauce was very boring. In summary, Japanese food without much character.

Le T.

Yelp
Everything was great! Minus the fact that two orders were messed up. I ordered a chef's selection for the sushi option and my order came out to be sashimi. Unfortunately, I can't eat too much raw food. Luckily, my sister didn't mind. My sister ordered a yellow tail hand roll and ended up getting shrimp. So make sure to check your orders before you leave! Sushi is definitely high quality. Preparation is key in order to make high-quality sushi. And the perfect piece of sushi is in the ingredients and proportions. Fish to rice proportion was perfect! Well done! Will be back!

Steven W.

Yelp
Great sushi spot with a variety of options to choose from. I never expect anything less when it comes to presentation at a Japanese restaurant. I love the sashimi as it was fresh, cold, and blended well with the soft sticky rice. Service was fantastic and I would definitely go back for the experience.

Alan C.

Yelp
sushi in Momento is one of the few sushi restaurants in Boston that I consider deliver next level sushi. The food is phenomenal. They have a snow crab roll, which is addictive. I love the crispy rice and the salmon and tuna sashimi is super fresh and delicious. They have some wonderful cook dishes as well and crispy shrimp in a slightly spicy sauce they offer you different versions of food on skewers. We got the scallop one and it was wonderful. Their drinks are also very good, the service is friendly and efficient

Yelp
Some of the best sushi I've had - especially coming from a place like NYC where sushi is a lifestyle, not a choice. We had originally planned to check out Cafe Landwer next door but the brunch wait deterred us and Sushi Momento was right next door, providing a great escape hatch from the wind tunnel. They have all the regular suspects on the menu - sushi rolls, noodles, bento boxes. The daily lunch special looked like a great deal for a lot of food. We went with the house salad, seaweed salad, and a ton of rolls. For someone who loves rice and would eat two bowls of rice with every meal if she could if it weren't for the fact that too much starch makes me feel heavy, the cucumber wrap is a great option (and probably not the easiest thing to make for the chefs). We ordered the spicy salmon and spicy yellowtail rolls on the first round and then, because I was still peckish, ordered another round with brown rice that was delicious and filling. All in all, we got a bunch of food on the lower end of $100, which I consider to be a nice steal, especially compared to Manhattan prices.

Yelp
This is the first time I've written a restaurant review. We went on a Saturday evening and even though the restaurant was pretty busy, the service was fine. We started with the shiitake mushroom soup, which was excellent. My partner had the grilled lobster tail with sea urchin which was delicious, and we both had different combination sushi roll platters. While the sushi presentations were beautiful, we felt there were too many ingredients which canceled out each other's taste, especially the rolls with mayonnaise. The only thing that upped them a notch was the soy sauce. We felt we would have been happier with traditional sushi. I had the vegetable tempura, which was a disappointment. Tempura should have a light, crunchy coating. While it was a good-sized portion and variety, the batter was thick and paste-like. Either it hadn't remained in the fryer long enough, or it had been prepared in advance and had sat in the walk-in until needed. Miso soup comes automatically with the meal in most Japanese restaurants we've ever been to. Not the case here. Everything is a la carte. The photos in the menu lead you to think you'll have a memorable meal. That wasn't the case for us.

Saadet A.

Yelp
Miso soup and lobster miso soup were delicious. Came out piping hot which is always a plus. Lychee martini was the best I've ever had. I prob can't ever have it again anywhere else. We ordered a couple of maki rolls- California and Philly. Both were very delicious. We got the shrimp tempura roll which was crunchy and yummy. Lastly we ordered the volcano roll - that was my favorite. Spicy sauces on top with scallops and a bunch of stuff inside. Wish I took a picture. We finished with the pistachio and praline ice cream dessert. Amazzzzzing! I wish I lived closer I'd be here every time I got a sushi craving.

Jo C.

Yelp
This is now my favorite place to have sushi at a decent priced restaurant. We came here on Sunday for lunch and ordered their lunch bentos where for $16 you get soup, salad and two different items to choose from among the list. I chose tempura and sashimi. The tempura came with two shrimp and a 3-4 variety of veggies. It was crispy and not over greasy or full of bread flour like the typical mediocre ones. The sashimi was fresh and the portions were way larger than I expected. It doesn't seem like much but its actually filing for average person. The food was aesthetically arranged and looks fancy. They also have cooked items like karaage, fried chicken which as crispy and not greasy! The service was friendly and prompt. There is parking available and it's free on Sunday, but not sure during other days of the week. I'll be back to try more of their menu items.

Wilson L.

Yelp
What bums me out about Sushi Momento is that I feel like they're going to close pretty soon. The place was DEAD on a Monday night and their reservations were fully open for the week, I'm talking about only 1 other table. I feel like Sushi Momento would thrive if it was in Quincy, Chestnut Hill just doesn't feel like the right spot for a neighborhood Izakaya. I really enjoyed the menu and thought they had such a good variety of apps. My personal favorites were the short rib udon, chicken katsu, crispy rock shrimp, and dinosaur. They were also able to make one of their cocktails virgin which was a big bonus for me. The other dishes I had like the salmon were fine but the pork belly was gross so I'd definitely recommend skipping that. I probably wouldn't come back just due to the distance but certainly worth visiting if you're in the area.

Raymond Y.

Yelp
Overall I'd say 3.5 stars and rounding up to 4 because overall I had a positive experience. The prices are a bit high, which is what's making is hesitate between the 3 and 4. Service is friendly and nice; also quick, however it was very busy so that make sense. The atmosphere is clean and modern, not designed with Asian aesthetics as you'd find in most Japanese restaurants. The restaurant itself is quite small and intimate, good for date night. We got the 399 Roll and Torch Roll. Both we good and nicely prepared. The rolls came out together on one plate and looked beautiful. Just looking at the photos see on Yelp, you can see the presentation is great! They tasted good and fresh. We also got edamame, nothing special here, pretty standard what you'd expect. Not sprinkled with as much salt as I've typically gotten at other restaurants, which I don't mind much. Drinks were also beautiful, though on the lighter side of alcohol. Mostly sweet and juicy. We got the Lychee-Tini and the Douzo Maitai. My favorite was the Lychee-mini.

Anastasia D.

Yelp
Amazing sushi in Cleveland circle. It's never too busy, not too upscale, and everyone is so nice! It is very clean and has a great sushi vibe. Love that the menu has pictures of each item. We love sitting at the bar and always have great service! Amazing passionfruit mojito and unique desserts. Highly recommend!

Gillian S.

Yelp
10/10 would always recommend!! Love love love this place for a nice dinner/ a great date/ just about anything. Their sushi is phenomenal, my favorite being their Phoenix roll! Their fried rice and Yaki noodle are also really good. I've tried their miso black cod as well (not pictured) which is also really great but of a smaller portion. The place would be better for smaller parties I'd say because their portions are quite small and the place itself seats just a few people. Parking was really easy to find though since they were within a hotel so to each their own. But overall, would definitely recommend and would definitely return!

Anna Q.

Yelp
Delicious!! I recommend getting the a5 wagyu, yellowtail jalapeño, black cod- cooked perfectly with miso sauce, all 5/5 The special - uni with the carbonara was also very good creamy, but for me the noodles were too soft/ over cooked 3.5/5 The maki rolls were ok 3/5 we got the mango one

Stephanie N.

Yelp
Came here with a group of 7 for my friend's birthday dinner. Beautiful restaurant with high quality fish. The sushi is good but everything is on the pricier side. It's located right in Brookline near the train stop so it's not much of a surprise. I'm a bit torn because there were some parts of my experience that I loved and some parts that were so bad that I don't think I'd ever come back. Mostly because of the untrustworthy server we had who probably only cared about bringing up her tips. ----- PROS ---------- - Absolutely gorgeous restaurant - Presentation of every plate was beautiful - Sashimi and Nigiri are amazing - Servers were nice and always made sure to clear our table and have our waters filled - We brought in a birthday cake and asked them to store it for us until the end of our meal. They brought it out were nice enough to put some ice cream mochi on top and around the cake (on the house!) ----- CONS ---------- - I ordered a BARAZUSHI bowl. It's listed as $15 for lunch, but you can order it for dinner for $20. It's basically a chirashi bowl with tuna, salmon, yellowtail, octopus, ikura, tamago, avocado. The bowl came out and it was beautiful. Only problem is, there was a drizzle of mayo on top. Not spicy mayo, but regular white mayo. I'm not even a fan of spicy mayo. The mayo was not in the description on the menu. If it had been, I could have at least requested them to NOT put it on. Why would you ruin such amazing quality fish with mayo?? I did not want to send it back because I didn't want the entire bowl to go to waste and I also didn't want to wait forever for them to make it again. I had to wipe the mayo off all the pieces of fish. - We are a huge group of 7. We were planning on ordering appetizers and several sushi rolls to share, in addition to whatever pepople wanted to get for themselves. We were about to order the sushi rolls until the server suggested that we order the CHEF'S PICK COMBO ($80). She said it came with a lot of sushi and that it'd be great for the entire table to share. We trusted the server and went ahead and ordered that instead of the rolls. The sushi took a while to make. It came out and again, the presentation was beautiful. However we notice that it's mostly sashimi and nigiri and 1 sushi roll. I'm sorry, but how did the server think that a table of 7 can share this equally? There's only 2 pieces of each type of nigiri and 4 pieces of each type of sashimi. The sushi was good but I would only recommend you order this if you have 2-4 people. - I'm pretty sure the server just wanted to bring up the bill. I wanted to order the CHU-TORO (medium fatty tuna) but she said that they were all out. She recommended the OH-TORO instead and insisted that it's not that fatty. She said "I eat sushi a lot from Japan. This actually isn't even that fatty". Okay, sure, I took her word for it. If you didn't already catch on to the theme of my review....this was a lie. The tuna was the oiliest, fattiest piece of fish I've ever eaten in my life. Now I understand that this is probably how oh-toro is supposed to be but my point is -- Don't. Trust. The. Server. (I don't remember her name, but it was an asian lady with very short hair and had an accent). - My friends ordered some of the specialty rolls and thought they were just meh. The speciality rolls are expensive ($14+) so you'd think they'd be better. One of my friends got the SURF & TURF sushi roll ($20). Apparently it has A5 wagyu and king crab meat. My friend took a bite and said it was basically tasteless. She opened up the roll and the crab meat was SO small. Like you need a microscope to view it. - Appetizer portions are really small - The restaurant was basically empty when we went (5pm on a Sunday). We were 1 of 2 tables and the food took a really long time to come out.

Daniel T.

Yelp
This was the first time we came here. The sushi was top notch. The service is excellent, and the place is very modern and clean. We liked the ambiance. I strongly recommend considering this for a dinner or a celebration. It may be a little pricey, comparing to other sushi places, but it's rare that I leave a review without anything negative to say, so it's definitely worth it if you have some extra $$$ to spend, and want to be sure that the experience will be fantastic.

Alexa R.

Yelp
Delicious sushi and expansive menu! Great cocktails and dessert too. Rarely have a wait, kind of a hidden gem! I love this place and their overall vibe. very clean and minimalistic. This is our go to sushi spot!

Alex W.

Yelp
Great sushi, the fastest service, best miso. The yummiest sweet potato tempura roll in Boston. Ambiance is upscale-esque but comfy inside.

Sylvia C.

Yelp
Too. Much. Spicy. Mayo. Last time I ordered takeout from here, I got the Phoenix roll, requested no spicy mayo in the special instructions. Got tons of spicy mayo. This time I ordered the Tiger roll, which doesn't have spicy mayo in the description. Got tons of spicy mayo. Enough with the spicy mayo! Otherwise the ingredients are fresh and delivery is on time.

Rita V.

Yelp
I'm torn with this review, only in the sense of cost vs portion. That said, you get what you pay for. The fish is incredibly fresh. So fresh it will slap your momma left and right. So fresh it will make your grandma blush (yea that dirty old lady we all have... oops, I have become that dirty old lady... but I digress and you get the point). They have a "thing" for spice, so expect most of the dishes to have some heat. The tuna tartare is a small offering, beautifully presented (stupid me, I was so hungry I didn't pull out my camera!), as were all the other dishes. Their tempura batter is fantastic so the spider roll and shrimp tempura rolls were incredibly crispy, not greasy and flavorful. Everything you want in a roll. Hamachi and cucumber roll is a delicate dainty little thing that delivers the fish you want - perfect. I really can't say much than the place is gorgeous, super clean and the staff is adorable. The food... well, bring your dead presidents. You are in Chestnut Hill after all - but honestly, for the quality, the price is justified - they just maxed it out.

Yelp
Sushi Momento is the new sushi place in town. In fact, it's so new that the place still had an air of fresh paint (not the most pleasant smell...). I came on a Saturday night, craving good sushi, and sat down at their sushi counter at 8:30pm looking forward to something exciting. Here's what we ordered: -Chicken Karage: Tasted good flavor wise, had spicy mayo drizzled on top, but lacked the appropriate crunch. -Seaweed salad: Came out too sweet and therefore didn't feel as fresh and refreshing as I like. Somehow just lacked the natural acidity of the seaweed. -Braised mushroom: Tasted good, simple soy sauce flavor, good variety of mushroom, think maitake, crimini and others. -Rock Shrimp: Deep fried small shrimps with a salt and pepper (and maybe some other spicier spice) flavoring. I'm not sure that I liked this dish. The shrimp came out a bit gluey due to the batter it was fried in. I wish they had fried it tempura style. That being said, my boyfriend ate the entire dish. -Chef's Combination: This is a big plate of nigiris (salmon, maguro tuna, sea bream), sashimi (yellowtail, maguro, salmon, sea bream, scallop, mackerel), and a cucumber wrapped roll that had avocado and a mix of fishes. While the fishes were tasty for the most part (the scallops weren't super fresh), this was very much a typical/average plate that you can find at many of your usual lower-cost sushi locations. Don't expect to be impressed by the flavors or the setup of the plate. $80 price tag was a little steep for the plate. Next time I'll probably just stick to ordering individual nigiris and sashimis. -Drinks: We ordered the one $10 Japanese wheat beer they have, which tasted great. Also tried a shochu that had matcha flavor infused. I would probably stay away from it as it tasted pure alcoholic and I could find the matcha flavor at all. Overall, this place did not quite come close to the expectations I had, but the chef spoke with us and told us about where his ingredients come from (all the fish is flown in straight from Tsukiji market twice a week) and also about future additions to the menu they got planned. So I would give this place some time and will make sure to go back in a couple months.

Yelp
Been wanting to try this place and it did not disappoint! We had a great dinner with quality sushi. Went in for an early dinner when it wasn't busy for dine-in. We got 3 appetizers, 6 special rolls and 3 different desserts. For the quality, the prices were very reasonable. The mochi dessert had so many flavors to choose from. It got pretty busy later on with dine-in and takeout. The staff was great and attentive throughout the night. I'd give it a 5/5 for the food, service, and presentation. It was delicious! From what we ordered, my favorite roll was the Tiger roll. Definitely recommend and will be back!

Chirag M.

Yelp
Nice vibe, good food, amazing service! Will definitely come back. FAVORITES: Salmon sashimi - fresh and delicious. We couldn't stop eating Black cod - oh so good, although portion is a bit small Spicy salmon roll - simple, but so tasty The Angry - one of their signature rolls but not top of my list. DID NOT like: Yellowtail Japaleno - I love yellowtail, but this one tasted weird. Would not order again.

Ko M.

Yelp
Feeling generous with 4 stars. But truly only 3.5 stars, meaning it's an average GOOD sushi restaurant. Sashimi is good quality fish, but not exquisite. The rice for sushi was not terrific. The sides were nice, and came right away after we ordered. We were hungry, so I didn't take photos. They were elegantly presented, but more importantly tasted great. GREAT FOR SHARING. !THE STAFF IS AWESOME! Everyone from manager to dish service, we were well taken care of (without hovering). Our waiter answered every question, and kept our rolling orders coming out all night. Although we ordered multiple dishes, I only photographed a few. It was a great place to meet and catch up with people from chestnut hill.

Yelp
Delicious food! (Try the crispy on rice if you like spicy tuna!) Great staff, nice atmosphere. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Super fresh quality fish, fast enough take out on a busy night of the week. Delicious side dishes and good rolls as well

Yelp
Small sushi bar with good sake collection. Good for a quick sushi meal but not a place to really enjoy a night out at dinner. Also street parking only at meters. Food: small menu. A few sushi varieties and desserts Service: amazing. We were offered free dumplings for the long wait Ambiance: modern and limited seating. Very clean Parking: street parking only

Yelp
Solid sushi. A bit on the pricey side for the quality. Yellowtail and tuna were excellent. Most of the other sushi I got was okay. A pretty limited and pricey sake menu.

Yelp
The wagyu beef fried rice and chef selection sushi were good....! Overall decent - won't return.

Yelp
Amazing beautifully prepared food and top notch service! Our waiter was super attentive and nice. Best sushi we have had in the Boston area, will definitely be back.

Yelp
You simply must get the pizza sushi. It is a raw salmon salad on top of a corn chip drizzled with spicy sauce. The waiter said that the last customer that got it said that they could eat those all night. We agreed. My boyfriend got a sushi roll and shared my fried rice. We were staying at the Marriot next door and were very happy to have this right next to it. I did not think that it was "average" or that the food "wasn't up to par" like a lot of reviews state. It's no downtown swanky restaurant, but I would go back again. I highly recommend the entrees and appetizers over the sushi. For two rolls, fried rice, a piece of grilled salmon, a martini, a captain and coke and an appetizer it was $100.

Yelp
I ordered the 10-piece nigiri 'omakase,' ($29) on the menu. Even though it's called omakase, it's technically not the traditional one where you are served the sushi one by one by the chef at the counter. They prepared all 10 and served them all at once on the plate here. That said, the neta quality was great for the price. The 10 pieces were individually distinct fish--a great variety. The shari (sushi rice) had good texture. The rice was room temperature! Marvelous. My experience in most places in Boston was either cold rice or overly warm rice. Momento managed to do it properly on this score. The size of the nigiri was not hard to eat in one bite as well. It is not strictly a traditional edomae sushi as some creative additions on the neta attested, but they did not take away too much from the neta and shari and hence an example of how to put a twist on sushi that still respects its roots. Lastly, the decor of the place was beautiful and classy with bright and light ambiance. I have not tried their other offerings, but based on the nigiris alone, I recommend this place as one of relatively affordable sushi gems in Boston area, along with Cafe Sushi in Cambridge and Fish Market Sushi Bar in Allston.

Yelp
I have never asked for uni and gotten the response maine, california or Hokkaido? It may not sound sexy but main produces the best (with apologies to my colleagues in Tokyo). Right in Cleveland Cirlce, this place is legit.

Yelp
I never leave reviews, but I often rely on them so I couldn't help but offer my opinion on this one after reading some not so glorious reviews. Because of the proximity to my hotel and the chill I decided to give it a try - one of my best restaurant choices ever! The flavors were fantastic and the presentation impeccable. What a gem! I will be back every time I am in town.

Yelp
Had a very delicious and quality dinner last night here! To start, I was very surprised with the prices because you're definitely getting a good meal that's quality for a reasonable cost. We ordered many different items and all tasted amazing! Not to mention that the service here is great. Everyone made sure to check up on us and asked if we needed anything, and was always one step ahead!! We had like three different people help us and genuinely wanted to make this a good first experience for us! I'd give 5/5 stars just for their service. Everything we got was good, but some honorable mentions were the Edamame Fried Rice and the Baby Back Ribs. We didn't know what to expect from the fried rice considering it had no meat vs your typical fried rice, but it had so much flavor and it was the perfect size for 1/family style. It wasn't plain at all! The ribs literally slid off the bone and was so tender. I recommend getting the summer special rolls as well. We got 2/3 of those (the Flamingo and Angel Tear) and devoured everything!!
