Sushi Nakazawa

Every dish is carefully prepared and cooked in correct manner if not raw. The restaurant is superbly located in Taipei and decorated as if it is in Japan. We had a young chef but very talented though.

Thanks to Taipei Restaurant Week, we had the privilege to try a specially curated Japanese omasake menu at Sushi Nakazawa. The dishes were incredible and brilliantly paired with sake. We started with a chanwanmushi, squid nigiri, Toyama white shrimp nigiri, vinegared mackerel nigiri, lean and medium fatty tuna nigiri and the list goes on. Chef Nakazawa is known for his yamaya-yaki which is a dish of minced fish blended with miso and grilled atop shiso leaves. Another highlight was his Japanese omelette and Panna Cotta that was a pleasant surprise. A definite hidden gem.

Very good value overall. Worth it for the price. Almost as good as some of the pricier omakase spots in Taipei. 4.5/5

Fresh sashimi with delicate preparation. Personally I like its sushi with a good balance of vinegars. The rice texture also meets my preference. The chef comes from Japan. Unfortunately my poor Japanese prohibits me from fluently talking to the chef. The manager was helpful to explain each dish. The only missing piece is the wine. I would bring my own wine at my next rendezvous here. Good dining experience 👍.

Ingredients are from Japan, fresh and high quality. Chef Nakazawa is very experienced and pays close attention to what the customers are looking for. Seats are limited and reservation is highly recommended.

The very best straight from Japan, ingredients as well as the chef himself. Delicate and delicious with great presentation. Great tastes and wonderful to look at too. The nigiri wasn’t in the top three i ve had in taipei. But the creativity, combination of tastes and textures and planning of ingredients for the menu was superb. The dessert was perhaps one of the best desserts i’ve had anywhere in taipei. I would have gladly had a second portion.

It's worth the time you sit in the bar. The only draw back is the one chef serves 12 customers... pretty much everything is prime grade sushi. Fresh flown in from Japan daily. Good stuff... if you want to spend the time. Omakaze style only.
