Great service, she was so sweet! It’s a little hole in the wall place but that just adds to the charm of it. There are some pricey things on the menu but there are also affordable things. And they even have a student discount for the teriyaki bowl! And a 10% discount if paying with cash and the food smells amazing , Everytime I walk by it captures my nose Am walking home now and can’t wait to try!

This place has been around for awhile. My daughter likes their chicken teriyaki bowl, and we haven’t been here in a very long time. She of course got the chicken teriyaki rice bowl and I got some shrimp tempura. Personally, I don’t like a lot of dark meat and they use nothing but dark meat which is why it’s probably cheaper. For the price the chicken teriyaki rice bowl is good. The shrimp tempura is disappointing, but again for the price… The inside needs a revamp for sure. This is Hollywierd though. You need a little taste. The service is great. The person taking our order was very helpful and nice. Overall for the price it’s not shabby. If your in a budget definitely a great deal!

Really really good kitchen, very friendly staff. When we areibed noone was in the Restaurant which seemed a bit steange to us. We entered anyways, after 10 mins it was 90% full, so the empty restaurant was obviously a coincidince before :)

Tasty sushi! They have a wide variety of Japanese and Korean fusion foods. My favorite is their chap chae dry noodle with sesame seeds and I think it’s olive oil? It’s a must try! Parking is so easy and no need to pay for the parking.

The food is actually really good for the price. I've eaten here twice and it's so good from I ordered. The workers are very nice, it's a pretty quiet place. There is no restroom, regardless if you are a customer or not, and you'll only get chop sticks if you ask.

Not a authentic sushi place. Just a nice guy trying to run a joint with all his effort & all by himself. Sitting area did not have a sushi restaurant ambience. Looked more like Yoshinoya. Everything that we ordered had eel sauce drizzled all over. Maybe to mask the bland flavor. Didn’t have too many customers inside & I can underwhy. But he was super busy running around taking online orders, cooking & serving all by himself. Looks like the restaurant has some cool looking (misleading) pictures of the food in online ordering websites. But that’s a normal case these days

Very bad. We came to dine in, ordered the food. The girl in the checkout served only for one person, seemed like she didn't really care about a costumer experience, no glass, no plates, only the plates that food was served in, the bare minimum. The food is quite average for the prices. No bathroom for the consumers! You can´t wash your hands. But the worse part started when while we was eating the girl started sweep the floor!!! Like right in the middle of the place which is not big. She didn´t have any clue that its not normal doing that while people are eating. Horrible experience!

The sushi was delicious, easy process to add accommodations, really cheap for the quality, my only complaint would be the containers they come in lol they're so loud to open

I had an unstoppable craving for sushi and got very excited when I saw on Yelp most of their rolls were around $10. I'm sad to report everything's gone up about $5, but so is the times. The waitress was very knowledgeable and the food came out quickly with a solid portion size. Pretty average for sushi, but of a fishy aftertaste. Restaurant was very clean and spacious.

OK my little babies! Today's business is a food business and it goes by the Name of Sushi Q on Sunset blvd and it is DA BOMB! It's a small place in a strip mall and if you blink...you'll miss it, so don't blink! The prices are fair...the place is clean, the service is fantastic and the food is AMAZING! I recommend the 2 item bento with Beef Teriyaki, Shrimp and Vegetable Tempura, blanched vegetables, salad rice, miso soup and dipping sauces!!! Don't waste time, just get down there!

Love Sushi Q! I get the California roll or Dynamite roll (I know I'm basic). My friends have had their combos and bowls and thought they were really good as well. Customer Service is great considering it's usually only two people..including the cook. I also usually order ahead and pick up as preference, but when I have eaten there it's been fairly quick and pleasant. Critiques would be the decor.. it's outdated and could use a face Lift, BUT I can appreciate with the cost to operate a business in Los Angeles that the focus be on the food quality and not making everything pretty. It does look clean where it matters! I'd recommend for an easy delicious meal, not necessarily a date night or special occasion though.

Chicken Teriyaki Bowl! (sorry for the TMI finished plate...and bent fork! lol) the food was so good that forgot to picture before full plate of good looking Teriyaki Chicken Plate. it was delicious! Please compliments to da chef! Teriyaki Chicken is really good, delicious and very flavorful. Loved it! very few word to say....TRY IT!

This place is really terrible! Japanese food is all about flavor & not quantity. Sushi Q had neither! Also no atmosphere. Just a dirty place. I had Udon, Shrimp tempura and spicy tuna sushi ! All were tasteless! My husband had sushi tempura bento and he was not happy. Whoever seasoned our food had no tastebuds!! Still Paid about $40 for a bad lunch! No return for us !!!

Ordered a Bento Box that was $18 for delivery. It came with Beef Terry, Assorted Shrimp& Veggie Tempura, 4 Piece CA Roll, Miso Soup and small side salad and 1 Gyoza. So giving 2 stars cause it wasn't that horrible but for $18 including taxes tip delivery it was $30 and wasn't worth it.

I love their teriyaki chicken bowl! However, for so many years I'd pass by this place and never thought to give it a try because its name, Sushi Q, sounded like a play on the song titled Suzie Q by Creedence Clearwater Revival. For me, that song, Suzie Q is inextricably linked to that scene from the movie 'Apocalypse Now' with the USO flying in some Playboy bunnies to tease the soldiers with their provocative dancing then having to be evacuated out because the soldiers rush the stage and Martin Sheen's character ends the scene saying, "Charlie didn't get much USO. He was dug in too deep or moving too fast. His idea of R&R was cold rice and a little rat meat." What does this have to do with food, except for the part about cold rice and rat meat, right? Exactly! That's why my convoluted brain never let me try Sushi Q until now. Anyway, I was with a friend and we were looking to get a quick bite for lunch. In the past we would go to Luv to Eat Thai for a meal but this time we decided to go right next door to Sushi Q. I wasn't too hungry and decided to get a Jr sized teriyaki chicken bowl, and my friend ordered the regular size teriyaki chicken bowl. Unlike so many quick bite places, Sushi Q prepared the chicken on the grill when we ordered so it was fresh and hot when they served it. Not only that, it tasted like they grilled it over an open flame so that really gave the flavor of the chicken a huge boost! As for the portions, the junior size was perfect for a light lunch. The regular size gets you about 30% more chicken but a lot more rice so if you're watching your carbs or starch, maybe not the way to go. Regardless, it was delicious and I know I'll come back here when I'm looking for a tasty, quick and light meal alternative to less healthy nearby fast food choices like Chick Fil A or Jack In The Box.

The "$" is definitely inaccurate. $15 for a Philadelphia roll is not "$" thats def $$ at LEAST.

This is the only brown rice sushi in Hollywood, and I literally called about 12 sushi restaurants!

I have been eating here on the average of twice a month for the last 10 years--maybe more. It's less than a block from where I work, they take my order over the phone, and they are always friendly and provide great service. I've ordered the same thing every time I've come here: #33 Chicken Teriyaki Bowl. I've been on an anti-inflammatory diet for about three years, so I get the bowl with extra vegetables and no rice or teriyaki sauce. A little bit extra $, but my gut thanks me. But y'know? I eat a lot of chicken breast on this diet and frankly, I get a bit tired of chicken after a while (even though Sushi Q's charbroiled chicken is reeeally good). So, today I decided to pay an extra $1 and try a shrimp bowl instead. I finished eating about an hour ago and I am still experiencing a great deal of pleasure from that shrimp. Happy stomach. I don't know exactly how they prepare it (sauteed with a bit of butter and garlic maybe?) but the flavor and texture made for such an enjoyable eat. Highly recommended.

(4.2/5) Good sushi place, kinda ehh strip mall, but I don't mind. I would come again. I got the beef bowl and rainbow roll. This is the basic Americanized sushi place you would expect with spider rolls and dragon rolls etc. Pro -cheap -nice workers -they clean up after you -quiet and not crowded -next to boba time :) -they just have kind of the basic rolls but they were good, I enjoyed them -very filling -did not get sick and felt perfectly fine the whole night and next day even tho it likes like a hole in the wall -you can actually sit in this sushi place. Some only do take out for now Con -a lot of sauce? I got the beef bowl and it had so much teriyaki sauce -some fish wasn't melt in your mouth fresh but it was still tasty. I think a foodie would be more bothered but you knew what you were getting yourself into coming here

Really good sushi, it's now in my rotation for treating myself on pay day. The noodles were also pretty darn good

I would give this a 4 star for food and service, a 2 star for ambiance and the fact that there was no restroom and randomly located in a shopping center. So, its probably a 3.5. My friend and I are always looking for good sushi spots and we usually hit up DTLA or Little Tokyo, but I tried to find a place closer to her in Hollywood. I will say it's hard to tell sometimes if it's a sit down place vs casual to-go spot. I did like that parking was in easy, especially for Hollywood, so that's a definite plus. When I came in, there were a few patrons sitting and eating, but strange enough no one was speaking. There was a table of what I assume were millennials eating with headphones on, not saying a word to each other. I was greeted by the girl in the front and waited for my friend. My friend got there and we ordered. I asked for the poke bowl and they gave me a sheet to fill out. I got the poke bowl with half brown rice and half salad, spicy tuna and albacore. It was $9 and some change plus tax and tip. I read that it was the best bang for your buck. My friend got two salmon hand rolls. Overall my poke bowl was delicious! I think my friend seemed to enjoy her hand rolls, but she's a bit snooty about the environment and rolled her eyes a couple of times. She thought it was really weird that no one was talking except us. A lot of people came in and out, many ordering to go. I like this place overall, nothing fancy but quality food.

Here's what this place has going for it... 1) It is easy to customize your order to your liking. Each of my changes were $1 (ie: brown rice substitute for white and spicy tune substitute for crab meat). 2) The prices are decent. 3) Walk up order at counter so kinda a fast food style sushi place. 4) Great location off Sunset near Highland with a parking lot. Where things were not so good... 1) The rolls just didn't taste that fresh. 2) Spicy tuna felt "airy" which I don't like. I want to get what I pay for not "fluffy" fish. 3) Compared to similar places, it took a little long to get my food. I felt like they were short workers in the kitchen. All in all, not bad, but I wouldn't go out of my way to go here.

Yeah.... it's a no for me dawg. I ordered the spider roll and the fried chicken. The spider roll was sloppily put together/cut. Plus the slices were so huge that super head couldn't fit it in her mouth. The chicken was still red / bloody. So I sent it back to be cooked longer. At least the guy was nice about it and said he would make me a whole new batch. The place was super busy. So maybe I just ordered the wrong things. Idk.

The chicken teriyaki bowl is very good, one of the best around. The shrimp tempura is very good but it's too expensive for how little you get (3 small pieces for $10).

Used to live down the street from here the Chicken bowl & dragon roll is a must try always hits the spots if your in the area check them out

3.5 Star good bang for your buck poke deal. It's not outstanding poke but it is satisfying and you get a pretty big bowl of food for around $9.25 TOPPINGS I usually just order the 2 fish scoop option and always get the salmon. Hits the spot! There's also shrimp and scallop as well. Spicy tuna is okay but not as flavorful as other places and comes as a paste rather than nicely cubed. Customizable accessory toppings, including white and green onions (perfect for the onion fiend that is me), seaweed salad, smelt eggs, avocado, ginger, and sesame seeds Order half salad, half rice to get the best of both the healthy world and the filling world. Spicy mayo is also an option, but do not order it right on your food. Be sure you order it on the side if you get it. It's a condiment best adjusted GRADUALLY, unless you are reaaally big on mayo CROWD Like the other places in this plaza, it gets crazy packed during lunchtime. So either come earlier/later or expect a line.

Sushi Q is one of the shining stars in this desolate food wasteland called Hollywood. Easily one of the best teriyaki plates in LA and i've had em all. The flavor that the grill gives the meat is unbeatable and their portions are pretty generous. I can't really speak on the sushi, i have my go-to spots for sushi already and haven't really tried theirs but I could definitely eat their chicken, beef or salmon teriyaki every day of my life. Not to mention that I've been coming to this place every week for the past 5 years and they've never missed a beat. If i had anything negative to say about this place I'd say that I wish they were open every day. (CLOSED WEEKENDS) Thank you for everything Sushi Q. The salmon teriyaki was great today, i'll see you again tomorrow.

You know the place is bad when the best part of the meal was the can drinks, witch where over priced by the way. 14 dollars for chewy rice and under flavor fish.

Found this place by chance, it had good reviews so we tried it out. Parking is scarce, so before prepared to drive around a few times for a spot. The place is nothing to look at. Kind of a whole in the wall place. So a little skeptical about eating here. I purchased a soda in the plastic that was $2.75. They didn't have any ice. I ordered 2 sushi rolls, there were 7 of us and we all ordered different items and to my surprise the food was really good, it was fresh and healthy servings.. we all enjoyed our plates.. they should spend some money making the place more appealing, yes it's kinda ugly.,but I am glad we chose to give them a chance. They have no public bathrooms. They did get an A,posted on the window.. if in the area again,I would eat here again. I ordered 2 rolls and a soda,$35.26. A tad pricey I think, but food was fresh..

The food is great price is fair parking ok. NO PUBLIC BATHROOM for guests. Ugh. The server stayed that it was a city ordinance in regard to a church near by. Really? I think I'm calling city hall tomorrow. Sadly we won't be going back.

One word: daYUMMMM I don't usually go into the Hollywood area, but today I found myself at this delicious authentic Japanese restaurant! I ordered a regular sized chicken teriyaki bowl and the jalapeño bomb, and they were both super delicious ! --chicken teriyaki bowl: Perfect amount of chicken to rice ratio! The bowl filled me up, I couldn't even finish the rest and it was only $4.91 after tax!! And I saw other customers put spicy mayo on the top! I'm definitely asking for that next time~~ --jalapeño bomb: This is sooooo good! So it's like two deep fried jalapeños w spicy tuna, cream cheese, and crab meat stuffed inside! And it was BOMB AF!!!! It was just the right level of spiciness--not too spicy, but not super spicy where I couldn't enjoy it. & I DEFINITELY enjoyed it I'm coming back for more~~ They added poke bowls and sushi burritos !!

I was very nicely surprised by this place. I got a chicken teriyaki bowl and no this place is not upscale so don't expect a fancy restaurant - but it was really good and really affordable. I left feeling good and full and not broke, and the cashier was super nice. I will be back.

Based on their 4 star rating and one $ price I was excited to try this place out. I ordered a chicken teriyaki plate and two sushi rolls, it came out to $30 (more like $$). The Washington roll (pictured) is the saddest sushi I've ever seen. They skimped out on the salmon and added far more rice than needed. This was the same story with the chicken teriyaki plate. $12 for half a DRY chicken breast, smothered in teriyaki sauce, on a bed of rice. The rice made up 90% of the weight of this dish. I've never felt so disappointed with the food I purchased. Won't be coming back despite living only a few blocks away!

This place is a great for a quick stop in, lunch/ food on the go. I was coming back from the gym and have always passed by and not given it a try, today was different! Place was not too crowded and found a sweet table to sit and enjoy the Bento Box I ordered. For 10 dollars this portion is HUGE! And extremely tasty. Great value for amount here. Plus friendly service, great location, and Boba right next door!

I always appreciate a sushi spot that offers bowls in case I change my mind, which happens when I'm hangry. Generic rolls, friendly staff, cute décor, and a parking lot which makes me love a place so much more.

This is heaven! I thought I will order 50% of dishes from menu. But we took just Philadelphia roll and unagi avocado bowl. Both were amazing! Going to come back to try the rest! The only thing bad is that they have no public restroom, but for guests they let us go through kitchen (or maybe it was exception because of my 7yo daughter). Anyway: nice and friendly staff and great food!

My friend took me to this hidden gem. I would like to say I had excellent service. My sashimi was fresh and good. My only disappointment is they do NOT OFFER GLUTEN FREE SOY SAUCE!!!! I would love to come back but without gluten free soy sauce it just isn't the same. I hope they invest in a bottle or 2 to offer customers with celiac disease like myself.

I've been coming here for years. Not top notch sushi place but just an average inexpensive sushi. You get what you pay for. I always get the chicken or beef teriyaki bento and it's always fresh and it's usually empty so you get your food right away. It does get busy during lunch hour but after it is dead. The servers are friendly. The parking is free but sometimes it might be pack. I like going to get my bento and boba fix after.

We walked in and ordered take-out on a Friday evening. Nobody was there when we arrived but a few people came in as we waited for our food. We got the Sushi Q and Dynamite rolls and the total came out to about $30. For some reason, both rolls were incredibly salty and we couldn't figure out which ingredient was the culprit. I'm not that sensitive to salt but my tongue actually hurt a bit by the end of the meal. Also, a few of the scallops on the dynamite roll were dry and not fresh at all. I could have forgiven that if the rolls weren't so salty. I don't think I'll be returning.

Love their chicken teriyaki bowls and gyoza! Their portions are great to, I always have left overs which is great. Staff is always friendly as well.

This place is the BEST place in Hollywood 4 Sushi at a VERY reasonable price. They have free parking & everything I've ordered is AMAZING!!!! Whatever you do don't base your opinion on some of the ppl on here giving this place a bad review over 'no free miso soup' or 'they have no bathroom'. Many smaller restaurants in here in Los Angeles don't have a public restroom & this is VERY common & it's NOT required by law they do so whoever wrote that is CLUELESS! If you're looking for amazing sushi or Japanese Fusion food EAT HERE u won't regret it.

This kills me to have to do this but in all honesty not that good. The prices are just under $10 and the people working were all very nice. That is what makes the next thing I am going to say tough. The food was just okay and the sushi although plated nicely was less than OK. The sushi was warm, which is concerning and mushy. I know you get what you pay for but sushi isn't supposed to warm no matter what the cost is. Plus the weird mushy factor and flavor may it no good. The chicken plate with rice was good though and like I said there are plenty of things that are under $10 that are good like the chicken, I just wouldn't recommend the sushi.

Fast food sushi + bowls place. I found a hair on my cali roll :( but other than that it was decent food. I'm not going to come back but I think it's convenient for high schoolers from Hollywood high (most customers on a Thursday night that I was there). Service is friendly. After looking at the menu for 10 minutes, I ordered a shrimp tempura udon and it was pretty tasty. Aforementioned cali rolls were yummy too once they replaced them. Most people I watched were ordering some sort of chicken bowls. I guess that's what's good. Ambiance is the same as subway next door. Probably more suitable for lunch or takeout than dinner.

10 outta 10!!! This restaurant is great. The moment I walked in I was greeted with a warm hello. As soon as I ordered the food came out just a few minutes after and it was very fresh. I ordered the beef plate and the baked spicy salmon roll. The beef was nice and tender and the salad on the side had the perfect amount of dressing. The baked spicy salmon roll was just delicious. The moment I put a roll in my mouth the salmon melted in my mouth. Immediately my mouth salivated for more. The meal was very filling and I was hardly able to finish all the food. I definitely recommend this place to everyone. It's quick and delicious and it's not even fast food. Ten out of ten!!!!

The Worst customer service called and left one hold for 10 min exactly that they just forgot about the call because I heard the lady taking orders in the back and another one calling a number I called again to think they would take my order nope straight to voicemail, very upset
