Sushi Ran

It was decent. Hard to say if it was the loud family with the mom threatening Her Young daughters. Or the off tangy sauce that THEY put on their Spyder Roll?.…. The waitress was distracted quite a bit but overall was a good experience. Chief was super nice and knowledgeable. Made some fried white albacore, and handed it out to all the patrons at the sushi bar. Would like to revisit another time. It's great for it's location and a quick bite. My rolls were made by his apprentice and some of it was loose and falling apart. Still enjoyable. Will visit again soon and give U update.

Great place to eat sushi in Noho. The price was very affordable with everyday 20% off on special rolls and affordable Asian alcohols. The sushi tested awesome and the restaurant atmosphere was really cozy and nice. All the staffs there were so kind, especially the waitress who took care of us 😉Will visit again 💯

This my family and I's favorite sushi spot in the Valley! We've taken so many friends & family here because the fish is fresh, it's prepared well and the atmosphere is great. We often order the garlic edamame, the garlic is perfect also the spicy tuna hand rolls, good proportion of fish to rice. The sushi combo and sashimi combo are the best value! I stopped ordering baked rolls and cooked fish after going here because I actually enjoy the taste of quality fresh fish. The only thing I would improve is the servers being a bit more attentive with providing more napkins, wasabi, water, etc during your meal. But all-in-all this place is wonderful. Highly recommended!! Oh and don't forget the saké!

Excellent sushi and while they had many of the same things it seemed different and somehow better than others. Service was efficient but maybe a little overworked. Not sure I needed to see a loop of tuna carcasses being dismembered throughout the meal.

Came into town for a day at Universal Studios and stopped by Sushi Ran for a quick bite before hitting the road. Wasn’t expecting much but the experience ended up being great! We ordered the ramen and sushi roll combo and everything tasted amazing. The customer service was top tier and the food couldn’t have been out quicker! Highly recommend!

Beautiful place, I ordered the party platter B over the phone and it was ready in less than 40 minutes. The sushi was really good and they called me when it was ready. Very helpful and yummy! Definitely will come here again! ⌯' ▾ '⌯

Very slow service. Came to pick up and order and was arrived the store manager told me it would be exactly 1 minute and I have a concert with him is it exactly 1 minute? And he replied again yes one minute exactly will be ready. Now it’s about 15 minutes and the order is not ready yet. And he keeps tell me one more minute. I don’t believe he understands what time is and how time is measured. Food is great however service is poor because they have so many orders and only one cook just the manager or I believe he’s the owner and one other person in the whole restaurant

In the beginning I was quite impressed by their misas which was really good. The ginger was a bit too sweet but the wasabi was good as well. At this point I'm not sure if the place is worth four stars or not. Most of the food that came out was really good, the place was rather clean I was a bit less impressed by the menus which looked like they were grabbed from somewhere else. The main reason I'm giving three stars of this place is because I ordered something called a sushi pizza which had on it cheap chili sauce from a bottle which was not mentioned when we ordered it, on top of some sticky rice bed. I have no idea why on Earth someone would make such a dish that is so bad the rice got stuck to our teeth and the sauce made the pizza quote taste horrible. Take that thing off a manu.

Sushi Ran is your typical Southern California Strip Mall Gem. It's next to a smoke shop and a few doors down from a Thai restaurant in a small location with limited parking. The staff is friendly, attentive, and there's a 20% off daily happy hour. There's adequate seating, so it's more of an intimate place with Jazz playing and pretty chandeliers hanging. We had the Spicy Garlic Edamame, Jumbo Scallop Carpaccio with Uni, Tonkotsu Ramen, Baked Salmon roll with Jalapeño, and Red Blossom roll. The rolls were fat and everything was flavorful.

Great , very delicious sushi and sashimi, super fresh, prises between 15 to 20$, and 20% happy hour whole day !!! Unbelievable, totally recommend !!!

Reviewing based on one of the no rice rolls (Red Blossom). I loved that there were no rice options available, but the balance was just off for me on this one. Way too much imitation crab meant the roll was really salty and the fish flavor was overwhelmed. That being said, service was lovely and fish was fresh.

The sushi was fine and mediocre, but the service was rushed and unprofessional. Came here for sushi on a Saturday night and around 9pm realized that they close at 9:30 (which is odd for even a strip mall restaurant on a Saturday night). From the moment we sat down at 8:15pm we felt rushed to order, eat and basically get the f*** out. As we tried to eat our food the waitress began taking condiments off our table around 9pm so we would finish up and leave. At 9:15 she asked us if we wanted the rest of our food to go AS we're putting food in our mouths. At 9:25 they opened the front door, on a pretty cold night. We left at this point, but I'm wondering if they would have physically picked us up and put us outside at 9:30pm had we not left. This was such an unpleasant experience that I never want to come back here again. I understand the restaurant needs to be closed but there should be a little curtesy towards the customer.

Good sushi at a reasonable price! That's hard to find lately so it was nice to have affordable and good sushi. Thank you!

**5 Stars** I recently visited Sushi Ran in North Hollywood, and I was thoroughly impressed! The sushi was incredibly fresh, and the service was spot on. Though it's a small place, it definitely packs a big punch with both quality and ambiance. I ordered the garlic edamame, which was delicious, and we also enjoyed a few rolls, all priced very reasonably. Plus, there's parking available, which is always a bonus. I can't wait to come back here

LOVE THIS PLACE!! we recently moved to NoHo & were looking for a good sushi place. This place is amazing!!! Perfect hole in the wall sushi place. the prices are good, good staff, & the sushi is very good quality! Everything feels really fresh & high quality. Its a cute casual place for dinner or lunch!

Food was good but the server with the short hair and glasses was very nasty towards guests. Would not return.

Rude manager. The lady with the short hair cut is very rude and rushed us. Sushi was very mediocre. Small seating area. Sushi chef wasn't very welcoming. Won't be back

This spot is a hidden gem & I can't wait to go back! The servers were so friendly and the environment was so clean. My friend and I opted for this dinner bento box where we picked 3 items that also included salad & miso soup. It was so filling & affordable too. Can't wait to try it again!

Stopped by this restaurant for a late dinner on Friday. My husband and I were seated promptly and our waitress was quick at taking our order. We were originally going to get a large sashimi plate and some roles, but decided to go for the medium plate of sashimi and ramen. The sushi chef must of heard us talking about their specials that they gave us a complimentary sample of one of the items, which was a yuzu fish sauce based salmon sashimi. It was really tasty. My husband's only complaint is that the waitress didn't bring us the actual bill before taking our card from our table so we were not sure what the total was, but overall the restraint was nice and the ambience was not too loud.

Absolutely loved this little hole in the wall sushi restaurant! The selections were amazing and super fresh ! So addicting and super duper yummy !

The restaurant itself is kind of on the smaller side but the Sushi here was so fresh it's worth the wait. The waitress was attentive and helpful. New favorite sushi spot.

I specifically requested NO CUCUMBER & they ignored my request. The rolls were not tight & they did not use white sushi rice but some tasteless brown rice that is mot pictured on their website. In addition they did not include utensils or napkins with my order. VERY POOR service & the food was meh. I do NOT recommend this place

I've come here a few times now. Small strip mall sushi joint, looks like a lot of them. Staff is very friendly, chefs too. Very low key whhich I like. I always get a Chirashi bowl, which is quite good here. Also they have a Sashimi Bi Bim Bap bowl, which is quite interesting, and cheaper, very affortable. I recommend it! Also good saki. Nice place if you want fast quality sushi. Good for maybe up to 6 people inside at a table.

Izakaya Sushi RAN serves decent sushi. The amount of fish and options available are limited. There is still quite a variety. The price of sushi and combinations are little more pricey than anticipated for the amount given (this is in comparison to other sushi restaurants I've gone to). The service of the place is wonderful. The waiter and waitress were incredibly friendly and helpful. If you're in North Hollywood and looking for a place with no wait for sushi, this place has a lot of tables available with a decent sushi menu!

Well first time for restaurant delivery. Food arrived promptly and hot. I am sorry, but I did not hear the doorbell although I was sitting less then 8 feet away with no TV, radio etc on, so I was unable to tip the delivery person. I am not sure how I make that up. Food: I only ordered 2 items, a cucumber salad, nice, and a yellow tail collar. Cost for the YTC on line $15.95 ok with me, however, the bill that came was only $10,95, (this was the cost on an old menu I had from Sushi Ran, somehow I missed this clue). My second clue should have been, it smelled fishy, before I opened the container. The outside of the fish looked liked fried chicken, over crisped and way over cooked. It was worse than the baked chicken I cooked last night that I threw out, because it was dry. This was worse, it's fish. I picked off the dry part as best I could and did manage to get some ok bits, not bites, bits. I had to try to eat some of it, as I hadn't eaten much all day and my doctor said I had to have some protien. Being currently unable to walk and out of a long hospital rehab stay I was thankful that I would be able to order from a restaurnant and have it delivered. I had been to Sushi Ran before and had been very satisfied. I guess I should have written the last sentence in the beginning of this review, but I'm still tasting the old fish, and being on antibiotics I can't even have a Scotch to get rid of the taste. Will I go back, not sure, as there are so many sushi restaurants within a 4 mile radius with a lot more atmosphere. Will I use Yelp for restaurant delivery again, you bet I will. So wherever you decide to dine, in or delivered, may you have a wonderful experience and enjoy every bite, and if you don't, make sure you let everyone know and anyone else who will listen or read a review. For the money that we are currently spending on eating out, even if you are wealthy, we should be demanding the best food and the best service. P.S. the heck with antibiotics, have to get rid of the fish taste!!!

Place is decent with great service. Their sushi of the week is fresh. The only downfall is the parking lot is a little small as it caters to other shops as well. Happy to be back soon!

I like the food here. Restaurant is always clean, Sushi is always fresh and their Bento boxes are a good value.

This is a great little sushi restaurant! We came on a Friday night and it wasn't too busy and we were seated right away. We ordered the Red Blossom Roll, Sexy Roll, and WB Roll. The rolls came out quickly. They looked great and tasted better! Everything seemed fresh and flavors were great. All the special rolls were 20% off which made it even better. The service was wonderful. The servers were very nice and attentive. They have a small parking lot. Many of the spaces are reserved for other businesses in the building, but we were able to find a parking spot with no problem. This is a little gem and I will definitely be back!

We were one of only 2 customers there, and even then we feel that the service was not professional. Once we paid, we were not a priority. Had to walk up to ask for help even though we called the waitress that was very nearby and just ignored us. Bye, never coming back. I had been coming here for over ten years.

I wanted to like this place but everything in my sushi plate was sweetened. The rice was sweet, the seaweed salad was very sweet, the cucumbers are sweet . I could not enjoy it. For anyone needing to cut back on sugar - stay away!! The salmon do but i has very very little salmon roe. It was the first time I did not finish a sushi meal.

I was recommended here by a few people and I also see lines here at times so on a whim, for a late lunch, I decided to go there because the usual spots I go to typically close 2-5pm. I rarely go to a bento box style sushi restaurant and now I regret going The sushi was thick, like almost a couple of inches thick. One of my yellowtails had almost full on skin. The rock shrimp was fried jumbo shrimp, which threw me off because anywhere else, rock shrimp is a normal medium size. I sent back a few things I didn't like and they were accommodating, the service was good, and the place was modern clean. I noticed people like that it's large portions but sushi is not about big portions, it's about the experience. Sashimi is supposed to be a melty one or 2 chews at higher quality sushi restaurants. I did not like having to chew through thick raw fish. Quality over quantity for me especially when it comes to raw fish

2nd time trying Sushi was a 7/10 tasted sweet? Came for the uni but not available. (Should not be advertised if not available) service was pretty crappy seemed rushed, waitress didn't even give me a bill just picked up my credit card from off the table. Not worth a 3rd try prices were also not the same as was I was rang up for.

They are very clean and atmospheric is warm and cute. The host/waitress,Minayo was very nice and had an adorable smile I ordered a sashimi salad and a tea. I recommend this place.

My fiancé and I live about few minutes away and this was our second time here. The food has been great both times! This is our new sushi spot. The location is convenient and they have parking which makes it so much more accessible. The service even better! Our host was really nice and and the person that was making our sushi was really friendly. Highly recommend and will be coming back again!

Excellent service and great price. The bulgogi was well seasoned and the sushi was very fresh. It was nice that the sushi and sashimi pieces also had fresh wasabi on them.

I've passed by this place everyday for the last 2 years and wanted to stop by. Finally did and I'm glad I did the chef the front door guy were very nice and the sushi was excellent. The albacore was very fresh and the tuna was great. The place was cozy and I'll definitely be back next week, might even make this my sushi spot I used to go to Yuzu but I'm sick of their attitude and always hour wait.

Has been my main sushi go-to for over a decade! Hard to get in without reservations but by far one of the most flavorful, presentable & freshest sushi out there! For the first time, we did take-out and transferred it to a platter for looks....it was equally good.

Staple sushi stop for the less picky. They have lots of rolls and plenty of outdoor seating. Service is pretty good and fast! My drawback is that the sake prices are a little steep. In my experience, mediocre/fun sushi places should have affordable sushi to make up for everything tasting the same- and the enjoyment is to gorge and hang with friends.

GAME CHANGER! First words that come to mind when thinking about my dining experience here! I can officially say I found my new go to sushi spot! Food: the fish here is extremely fresh & the portion sizes are HUGE! There are many specialty rolls to choose from along with yummy appetizers & many protein/noodle meal options. Today, me & my fiancé went the specialty roll route & it was the best decision we could have made! We ordered the super volcano roll, abc roll, the number 1 roll & a spicy tuna hand roll. We ordered one other roll but can't remember the name. Volcano roll was filled with flavor & cooked to perfection, the number 1 roll was topped with flavorful crispy onions & the roll itself was to die for, the abc roll is a MUST order, & the spicy tuna hand roll we personally could have gone without. It was lacking compared to how good the other rolls were. Regardless it was an amazing experience with the food. Overall, sushi is 10/10 Amazing experience here I can't wait to come back!

The first time I came here was through yelp! I called a local famous sushi lace and the wait was 2 hours. I searched for sushi near by and Sushi Ran came up. The moment I called Monica picked up and reserved a table for us right away. Since then Monica and Victoria have been awesome hosts and I definitely will be back because of their service and the fresh fish they serve. Don't even think twice! My to go sushi place

To make up for receiving wrong item a little while back, the restaurant called when I placed an order tonight and comped me an order of salmon roe. It was most appreciated.

We just had dinner at this establishment. Just want to say how awesome the service has been. We come here all the time for their great, scrumptious, and satisfyingly tasteful food. My favorite is the shrimp tempura roll and blue crab roll. Many thanks to sushi chef Ted and our amazing host, Michelle. The whole staff is awesome and very attentive . I highly recommend you check out this place if you love sushi!

I have to agree with some reviews that I read today the quality went downhill big time here I use to eat here 2-3 times a week before the pandemic and back then the food was pretty good. Today I ordered two different dishes and both were very disappointing first dish was love roll that the tuna that wrapped the roll wasn't fresh the color was brown rather then red and it didn't taste good Second dish was Superman burrito that tasted not fresh To make things worse the prices went up and it was very expensive Specially for this low quality sushi
