Sushi Rock in Las Olas, Fort Lauderdale, is a hidden gem that truly lives up to its name. We arrived early and had the entire restaurant to ourselves, which made the experience even more personal and enjoyable. The atmosphere is vibrant, with a fun rock ’n’ roll theme and good music playing in the background—it feels like a perfect fusion of sushi bar and rock lounge.
We started with the crispy rice with spicy tuna, the perfect appetizer—crispy, flavorful, and satisfying. We also had the Great Balls of Fire, which came with a wasabi kick that was tolerable but strong enough to make us laugh at each other’s reactions.
For rolls, we ordered the Snoop Dog, Blondie, Salmon Chicharrón, Sublime, Red Hot Chili Pepper, Big Blooper, and Black Widow. All were fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented in a sushi boat, making the experience feel even more special.
A standout detail was the fresh chopped wasabi—not the typical paste you see everywhere, but real wasabi with a clean, vibrant spice. It wasn’t overpowering; instead, it added the perfect kick to wake up your taste buds and complement every bite.
To pair with our meal, we tried the Lychee Saketini—a refreshing, slightly sweet cocktail with a delicate floral aroma and the smooth finish of sake. It was crisp, light, and balanced, making it the perfect drink to enjoy with sushi.
This little hole-in-the-wall spot easily has some of the best sushi I’ve ever had in Fort Lauderdale. Between the creative rolls, fresh ingredients, fun drinks, and rock ’n’ roll vibe, Sushi Rock is a must-visit on Las Olas!
