Google
Look who I ran into at my favorite sushi spot and they absolutely loved the food and service so I had to try it out and I wasn’t disappointed at all 10/10 recommendations the best in Broward hands down

Semere Mahderekal

Google
First of all the service here is so warm and welcoming which instantly put me in a good mood. The sushi was incredible fresh, flavorful and filling. The fried gyoza were amazing if you only had them steamed you will love the fried even more. Honestly such a great hidden gem would recommend all to go for a nice sushi date or solo.

Google
The best!! Their signature rolls are amazing. The wallflowers is my favorite. All of the appetizers are good. The service is good. Love this place!

Google
Lovely little sushi restaurant. Truth be told, some of the best sushi rolls I’ve had in a long time. Staff was friendly/courteous, music was to my liking and food came out swiftly. It’s always a plus when there isn’t a wait and Walking distance from our office. We’ll be back for sure.

Google
It was my second time here, I liked it overall. I had the Thai Iced Tea which was sweet and refreshing. It tastes like a regular sweet tea with a milky twist. I had the Crab Rangoon, which was really good, crispy and savory served with a sweet sauce. The chicken Pad Thai was okay, a little on the sweeter side. My partner had the Dragon roll which was crispy and savory. I would recommend it here. I recommend the Rock N Roll over anything.

Google
Best sushi in Florida. They actually have REAL wasabi if you ask for it. They charge for it of course but it is night and day compared to the standard paste wasabi. All rolls are excellent, one of my favorites is the Wallflower. Music is great too, and owner, chefs and servers very friendly.

Google

Google
This is a small store front located directly on Las Olas. There is street parking that you have to pay for and a lot behind the restaurant that is also metered. I was very pleased with the portions of the appetizers (tuna & conch salads) and of the rolls. My 2 friends ordered sake martinis and absolutely loved them. Everything was fresh and our server, Helen, was so pleasant and helpful.

Yelp
Well that sucked. I haven't been to this location in about 3 or 4 years. Last time I was there the food and service were fantastic and the place was absolutely packed. This time around the food was awful. From the look of things I think they had a change in ownership. We decided to go there for dinner last night and at around 7:30 pm on a Thursday there was only one other table occupied. I should have taken that as a sign that things weren't good and went somewhere else, but we decided to push forward. As for the food, we had a party of and 5 we got a variety of sushi rolls, the keto salmon skin fries, the fried rice and the steak teriyaki. I'll start out with what was good. I actually ordered a salmon jalapeño roll but wound up getting the Spice Girl roll which was spicy tuna and avocado and sliced salmon on top. Even though it was wrong, it was pretty good. The sauce that came with it was actually quite spicy, I really enjoyed it. I also got the Big Bopper which was a tempura covered roll with salmon and tuna. This one tasted a little bit off to me like the oil in the fryer needed changing or the rice was old. Maybe both. The fish was completely nondescript as well, so it was like eating weird tasting fried rice globs. And it was $23! From what I heard from everyone else the other rolls were either average or not good. The California rolls had a weird taste to the rice as well and the fish didn't seem that fresh. Same for the tuna and crispy rice roll. My wife got the steak teriyaki and fried rice and she said it was horrible. The steak was tough and seemed reheated and the sauce was overly sweet. The fried rice was also clearly reheated and everything was served with wilted, rotting romaine lettuce on the side as a garnish. Why? I have no idea. The worst thing we got was the salmon skin "Keto" fries which were literally a served cold. We told the server about it he took the plate, apologized, disappeared for 2 minutes and came back with the same plate lukewarm. I guess he microwaved it. Overall though, it was inedible and insulting. Food aside they also did a mandatory tip on the order which I did not appreciate especially since the service was a bit spotty. I also want to mention if you're calling the place Sushi Rock and you have album covers of rock bands all over the wall you may want to put some rock music on the playlist. The fact that they're playing Paula Abdul and Beyoncé in a "rock" place is absolutely ridiculous. Overall I was very disappointed I would definitely not go back here again. It looks like most people in Fort Lauderdale already got the hint and aren't showing up either. Zero stars, one of the worst sushi meals I've ever had.

Yelp
We ordered takeout which was fresh and prepared quickly. The Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice was some of the best I've ever had--the rice was perfectly cooked & with a generous spicy tuna portion. The Big Bopper Roll was prepared with ample portions of each fish which all blended well with the avocado and asparagus. I typically don't like rolls with the seaweed on the outside, but this was fried with a great outer crunch. Can't wait to try more of their offerings!

Yelp
Was looking for a light meal prior to heading to the airport and found Sushi Rock. My daughters and I split three rolls. While I don't recall the names they were all very good. While the place was dark I loved the 80's music. We were here early on a Sunday, and there was only one other table. Unfortunately, service was slow as only one gentleman was preparing sushi. I will come back the next time I am in the area.

Yelp
Went for my friends 40th birthday. The appetizers were excellent. The signature roll of the house did not disappoint. Affordable, clean, and friendly staff. A spot to check out on las olas.

Yelp
We headed in a little later on Friday night and were able to get sat right away which was amazing. Our server was extremely friendly. I've been here a few times and I like the atmosphere. It's small but it's funky and the rolls I've had have all been great. It's also a very good spot for a date night since it feels intimate. This time we got edamame to start, shrimp shumai, and my main was the Pink Floyd roll. The food came out in good time. The waiter made sure to check on us and keep our drinks full. It was delicious.

Yelp
This place had really good sushi, I got a black dragon roll and it was seriously great. Service was great, everyone was really nice. Chill ambiance, place was small, but cute.
google avatar

Yelp
What an amazing hole in the wall restaurant. I went there for dinner last night, and I was blown away by the quality of the food. The sushi was extremely fresh and they had a bunch of different selections of rolls to pick from. Our waiter quickly got our drink and food order and put them in. The ambience is quiet and small, but the food makes this place of one of a kind!

Yelp
I use to come here a lot when I lived on Las Olas. It was better than I remembered. The sushi is always fresh and the service is great. I love the rock theme inside with all the record covers of the great rock bands. My rolls/sashimi were tasty and satisfying. Iconic place in Fort Lauderdale. I will always eat here!
google avatar

Julien H.

Yelp
some restaurants have a great food, some have good portions, some have great value. This place fell short on all fronts. You're getting essentially publix quality sushi at a los Olas price. If I would've paid half the price of what I did, this would be a five star review, our issue with it was just the insane markup on what is incredibly average food. There are tons of other spots nearby that we wish we would've gone to instead. With Location if they improved either the portion size or quality of the ingredients just a little bit, it would probably be worth it

Yelp
This restaurant is really fun on the inside. 70s 80s and 90s band pictures line the wall and a really nice staff greets and serves you. We had a lychee sakatini that was pretty good, but then the Hamachi Kama appetizer wasn't that great. It felt like a whitefish cooked entree that we had to carve up ourselves served as an entree. The sashimi was fine, but the red hot chili pepper roll was wayyyy too spicy. We planned on ordering more food but the spicyness made us lose our appetite so we had to leave. I've heard great things about this place but we didn't have that experience.

Yelp
amazing food, the service was amazing, and the ambiance. A must need in your life :) got the black widow roll and house salad always hits.

Yelp
I found this place and decided to try it on the way to the air and sea show. It was just ok. It had a funny smell like sewer water, but I saw other diners so we decided to stay. Ordered the sushi bake which was decent, just imitation crab on top of rice with a sauce. It was served in a cute dish. My daughter enjoyed her JB roll which was reasonably sized and I ordered the fried rice with everything in it and it tasted a lot like Paella. It didn't have an authentic fried rice flavor, but it was a good portion and packed with meats. I may try it again, but it is really pricey and I think there are other places in the area with a better selection of food.
google avatar

Haleigh P.

Yelp
Visited sushi rock during vacation and I was not disappointed. I found this place searching the internet and decided to give it a shot. Tried a few different rolls, all were very good especially the black widow. Service was pretty good and the place stayed on theme with the "rock" music/memorabilia.

Yelp
A hole in the wall but This place is 10 out of 10! I have been to many sushi restaurants but this is one of the best I have been too. I Cannot compare to anything I have eaten in NY so I have to come back and visit.. service was great. And what made it better was the fried oreos.. Thank you Sushi Rock!!
google avatar

Alexander A.

Yelp
Been here 3 times and have only had good and prompt service. The Michael Jackson roll and Rock N Roll which were my instant favorites and all I e ordered on each visit. Saki was pretty good, too. A little pricey, but totally worth it!
google avatar

Catalina U.

Yelp
Popped in for what I think might be the first time. I'll start by saying it was safety-friendly with seating separated by dividers and masks worn by staff. We ordered the tuna tataki, miso soup, Sushi Rock and Red Hot Chili Peppers. The tataki had a nice lemony flavor but the tuna was a little over-seared for my personal taste. I like the tuna a bit more raw, but it was still a good dish. My friend with the Sushi Rock lives by that roll and orders it whenever she's in. I loved my RHCP roll too! It was spicy but not in an overwhelming way. I was surprised at the size of the rolls- they're really big for the price. I almost didnt finish mine, and I'm an eater!!

Yelp
Great food. Super friendly and attentive staff. One of the best places I have been to in Ft Lauderdale.

Yelp
Baaeeebbbyyyy ... let me tell you something. This place here has some of the BEST sushi I've ever had and that's saying something considering I've had just about every sushi place in this city. If you haven't been here, it's a MUST try if your looking for great sushi. This place is kind of a hole In the wall.(Don't be like us and judge from the outside.. the "richer" looking sushi place we chose last time had the worst service and food, better looks doesn't mean better food, just saying.) Carmen and Ivan were our servers. They were super friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and gave us the best suggestions about what to order based on what we liked. We ordered the crab ragoons, miso soup, shrimp steamed dumplings as appetizers... all tasted pretty darn good. No complaints other than the dumplings being super small but the taste was great! Now let me get to the good part... the sushi rolls were AMAZING!!!! Ordered the Big Bopper and the Pink Floyd. The big Bopper was HUGE and packed with flavor! The Pink Floyd had the best crunch filling I've ever had... I originally thought it may be Mediocre because the imitation crab meat on top kind of throws the presentation off but it was one of those "don't judge a book by it's cover" kind of things! Also amazing!!! The ambiance was great too... inside is cozy, customer service is great and the music genre was versatile and kept us grooving in our seats the entire time. Will definitely be back and with more people!!!

Yelp
Sushi rock is the best hidden gem sushi spot in Fort Lauderdale. Always great fish, fresh, and great service! Such a good go to.
google avatar

Lena L.

Yelp
This place never disappoints. Apparently I haven't updated my review in 9 years! Just ate here again the other night and you can't beat the price and quality for the duet sushi boat. We like to upgrade the rolls. You won't be disappointed giving this place a try.

Maggie C.

Yelp
Best sushi we've had in Fort Lauderdale! Ordered the crab Rangoon, red hot chili pepper roll & spider roll (forgot what they call it there). Everything was delicious and portions were great. 2 people & we were full after those 3 items. Sake was great as well. Service was prompt and friendly.
google avatar

Isabel V.

Yelp
This is my husband's and I favorite place for sushi. It was our first date and it has been our date place ever since. Before COVID it was a lot more lively with al sorts of old school records on the wall and surrounding area. Now since COVID they took down all their interior decor and it's a lot more empty inside, which is a bummer. The rolls are all yummy and fresh. The staff is very nice.
google avatar

Oriana S.

Yelp
Went back again and this time we were able to sit inside. Big difference! It's really a cozy, nice place. The service is excellent! The waitresses are super nice and do an excellent job!! We ordered the gyoza and JB rolls. AMAZING!! Soo freaking good! Definitely coming back!
google avatar

Ramsey P.

Yelp
The place looks like a small hole in the wall spot but was definitely worth the visit. Sushi was great and everything tasted fresh. Rolls were much bigger than what we expected. 1 signature roll would probably be enough for 1 person. I do wish they had more raw options and a bigger beer selection though.
google avatar

Stacey G.

Yelp
Loved this place so much the 1st time, went back the next night! All the rolls are delicious!! Do you like cold sake? Coconut? Try the coconut sake. Omg... I live in California & can't stop thinking about it. Shop local, eat local, support local!! I can't believe I didn't take pics! I was visiting with family & slipped my mind. Just go have a meal! You won't be disappointed.
google avatar

Yelp
This is one of the places we always seem to gravitate to when in Ft. Lauderdale. It's small but the sushi is great and the staff is very attentive. They have interesting rolls and the prices are good. Go check it out!
google avatar

Harout A.

Yelp
Another staple of my Fort Lauderdale visits. Sushi Rock delivers famously delicious and filling sushi rolls along with a vast array of menu selections for novice and expert sushi consumers. My gripe about this place would be the size of the establishment, and the speed in which the food is presented. Otherwise, the food is phenomenal and the decor/ambience is absolutely unique. I would recommend this sushi spot for anyone who likes to experiment and for those who have specific flavors to feed.

Rebecca D.

Yelp
Phenomenal sushi and atmosphere! Highly recommend this sushi place in Fort Lauderdale!
google avatar

Sandy B.

Yelp
We got several yummy rolls as well as dessert. The service and variety were great. The restaurant is small and was mostly full when we arrived, but there was a table available. The Oreo Speedwagon was a nice way to end the meal.
google avatar

Laura M.

Yelp
The sushi was so great! We were visiting from out of town and read about this small, hole in the wall establishment and decided to try it. We arrived late 8 and the place was busy so, I'll give the place a bit of grace. The service wasn't great. A group came after us and just sat down at a table that had just been cleared. There was a waiting list and we were next and the people did not notify them that the seating was not seat yourself. So, we waiting another 15 minutes for another table to open up for us. The sushi and sake were great and I would highly recommend this place, minus the line hoppers.
google avatar

Mike M.

Yelp
This places rocks! Great music, fun purple lighting, small tables and sushi bar seating available. Server was friendly, helpful and attentive. The showcase sushi rolls were phenomenal. Highly recommend the Michael Jackson roll, also the Red Hot Chili Peppers roll was fantastic. Good place to start your night on las olas or just catch up with an old friend. Definitely worth a visit.
google avatar

Yelp
Back again to celebrate my niece''s birthday. Best sushi in South Florida! Along with the calamari fries and the abundance of rolls ordered, the staff surprised her with green tea ice cream and a hilarious rendition of "Happy Birthday".
google avatar

Holly K.

Yelp
Small hole-in-the-wall sushi place, that has been around for years on Las Olas. A bit cramped on the inside, and you will feel like you're eating on top of another table. However, the food is solid and the sushi is always *fresh*. Plenty of "basic" rolls, as well as unique rolls on the menu. Large portions of sushi for a decent price, service seems to be a bit on the slow side though.

Christian A.

Yelp
The ambiance had a cozy Mom and pop feel. Staff were friendly and helpful. The food was amazing . I am a big sushi enthusiast, trying to discover the best sushi for my cravings. Everything we ordered was fresh and filled with an abundance of flavors. This gem definitely has the best portion, flavor for the price. The crispy rice tuna tartare has to be one of the best I have, warm rice, fresh tuna.

Yelp
After hearing great things for a while we decided to give it a go today. Location: the front door faces Las Olas Blvd. So, very close to where all the action is. There was plenty of parking on Las Olas but, there are also several lots around the area Ambiance: semi sleek casual. Clean appearance. Cozy Food: There is alot of variety on the menu. There were four of us and we ordered a couple of appetizers and sushi/sashimi plates. They were beautifully presented and really delicious. I would say the portions are really good for the price. All 4 of us enjoyed the food alot. My favorite was the salmon on the Sashimi plate. It was a nice cut and good quality. Customer service: This took it down 2 stars for me...once we were seated it took 5 minutes to be acknowledged. Once we were it was because I flagged down the server. Not sure where he disappeared to after that but, he didn't some back for a while. Eventually when he did (about 10 minutes later) we all placed our order. He brought it all out...we were catching up and after an hour we were not checked on once. Again, we flagged him down for the check and Eventually he brought it back saying the manager had to come by to split it...ok....no one came so after about 10-15 minutes to make it eaafor him we just split it 50/50. I would cut slack but, there were only 2 other tables in the entire being served so, not exactly too busy to have that kind of neglectful service. Overall, I would eat the food here again. I would maybe try another time and hope for a different server to see if the experience is better.

Yelp
Great stop! Small, but great service and menu. The Offspring was DELICIOUS!!!! We really loved everything we got. Even though avocado rolls were not specifically on the menu - they were happy to make them by special request for my girls. Keep up the good work!
google avatar

Ricky R.

Yelp
Used to be the best sushi joint in Fort Lauderdale. Menu changed so much. The sushi menu looks like it supposed to accommodate basic ass people that like California and spicy tuna rolls. All the rolls I mentioned in my last review do not exist. Super disappointed.
google avatar

Niaz K.

Yelp
Sushi Rock!!!! I can't believe it took me 150 trips to Las Olas to find this little tiny amazing sushi cafe. There's SO many restaurants on Las Olas, but sushi rock has my heart. The servers are super friendly, the sushi is super fresh, and the place is very clean. The location is prime. Just a short scooter ride away from the bars. It's a very cozy and causal place. And the music never fails to impress me. I ordered the rainbow roll, best one I've ever had in Fort Lauderdale. And my friend ordered the red hot chili roll (?). Both were fantastic. Sometimes I wish I never found this place because now I'm here all the time when I'm on Las Olas. If you want quality food on Las Olas without paying a fortune, step right into Sushi Rock because it ROCKS!
google avatar

Ali K.

Yelp
Really cute sushi spot downtown. Great location if you're out and about and craving some sushi. It's cute inside with a tiny outside section.
google avatar

Yelp
Loved it so much!! Nice dinner date. Ordered the small raw sashimi plate and 3 rolls everything was so good !!!
google avatar

Yelp
Honestly this spot is the best sushi on las olas! Friendly staff and well priced. Always a great experience!! I can't wait to go back !!

Yelp
It was very dark. Could not see what I was eating. A very small place. Sushi rice had no flavor at all. The Udon was bland. It had not flavor in the soup. They udon noodles. Food wasn't taste . It's located next to a smoke shop and building looks old.

Yelp
All day can say is OMG This place is fantastic. From the music, to the seating, to the food and finally the service This place is not fancy, but what it does have is amazing tasting food. The service here is also fantastic. By the time that we got there it was pretty busy so it took a long time for us to get our food. However, it was well worth the wait. Sushi Rock is definitely a Hidden Gem. I was walking by and didn't even realize that this place was even there. There's nothing fancy outside about it and it is definitely a hole in the wall with fantastic Music.
google avatar

Manuel Q.

Yelp
Looking for nice sushi with an authentic atmosphere? Come here. We were walking around looking for a place to eat and, even though from the outside the place doesn't really look VERY appealing, we decided to go for sushi and try this little place. What a gem. Service is just AMAZING. Having worked at a sushi restaurant for about a year, I can safely say that this place a serves really nice food. We went all in. For appetizers: 2 Steamed Gyozas (very delicious) & some steamed Shrimp Dumplings (also very delicious). 4 pcs of Salmon Nigiri: very fresh and the rice was just delicious and had perfect consistency. 2 pcs of Tuna Nigiri: very nice as well although not as good as the salmon ones. For entrees: we chose 3 rolls out of the menu: The Magic Dragon Roll (just like a Dragon Roll everywhere else), the Smoked Bagel Roll (Salmon and crean cheese - First time I try it with smoked salmon....so delicious) and last but not least, the Sublime roll (this was the best roll of the entire lunch).. To top it off we ordered the Oreo tempuras... never disappoints... they were delicious. Come here and treat yourself!
google avatar

Sarvin K.

Yelp
So let me start by saying I hadn't had any sushi in over 3 months and was craving it badly with my friends. Due to the coronavirus we called ahead and found out they were open and they were nice enough to start our order before we got there (they don't normally do that, understandably so, but we were starving and luckily they made an exception). We ended up getting 2 rolls of the red hot chili pepper, 1 roll of Michael Jackson, and 1 roll of Blondie. Michael Jackson was my favorite! It felt like a whole warm meal in your mouth. The red hot chili pepper and blondie rolls were fantastic as well. It all hit the spot and satisfied my sushi fix. The service was wonderful. Everyone was very accommodating and kind. Sushi rock rocks!
google avatar

Mae B.

Yelp
Hadn't been to Las Olas in ages stopped in and was so excited to see this places was still here and still as delicious as ever. Compared to other sushi restaurants the portions were very generous, kinda wish the server had warned us because we almost needed a bigger table when the food came out. For 2 we ended up ordering enough for 6! No worries we powered thru and slow and steady win that race. We didn't make it anywhere but to passout after having full bellies and dreaming of that meal again.
google avatar

Isaiah R.

Yelp
the sushi was amazing! it's a small spot but the workers were very inviting and the service was very attentive. we had the spicy edamame and a couple white peach martinis along with the sushi. i'd definitely recommend trying this place if you're in the area!
google avatar

Brenda T.

Yelp
The staff was extremely friendly. I felt comfortable stuffing my face alone at the bar. Everything was super delicious and I will def be back for more!

Yelp
The sushi was amazing and we had great service. Loved the spicy seafood miso. Lots of cooked items too on the menu too.
