Sushi Rush at Grand Central Market is a must-visit for sushi lovers! We ordered the A5 Wagyu sushi and the Jumbo Scallop sushi—both were incredibly fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. The quality of the ingredients truly stands out, making for an unforgettable sushi experience. Highly recommend!

When I came the ignored me and didn’t even clean the table. I got a crispy rice salmon it was super small literally snack size. The lady with the bun was eating from a bag with her bare hands which didn’t look very sanitary. I asked for a glass of water they didn’t even want to provide me one.

This review is to complain. Ordered a $20 pitcher with Sapporo draft, which was a great way to cool off during an afternoon with 103F temperatures. No food was ordered, although the photos and rest of the reviews here look fine I found the female employee with glasses to be rather rude and found her giving “mad dog” side-eye glances while drinking. Definitely off putting. Beer was 10/10 and service was 1/10. Strongly regret tipping.

Delish! If I could go back in time I would order more of the 2 piece offerings rather than the rolls. Everything was good but the Japanese Yellowtail nigiri was top notch. I love the short menu and the speed in which everything was ready, especially on a busy weekend evening.

I had the Rushroll 5 piece and loved it! This was the perfect lunch dish, all of the rolls were pretty fresh. The rushroll included Salmon with cucumber & rice cracker Bay scallop yuzu sauce with masago Spicy tuna with cucumber & crispy onion Yellowtail cucumber with scallion Blue Crab with cucumber

Great new restaurant in the Grand Central Market! Food was quick, well presented and delicate just as sushi should be. I was surprised at how high quality the fish was. I'll definitely be coming back to get more of the menu since we just split the sampler platter out of curiosity.

Stopped in to GC DTLA on 04/05 for a quick bite before heading home. Right off the elevator you walk down and see Sushi Rush on the lower level. And just by eyeing the customers food selections at a first glance - the food looked really promising so we took a chance. We ordered the hand roll that came in three. It was fixed so you couldn’t make your own selections which is fine. We were in a rush anyhow. We also ordered the truffle sushi nigiri and both items were incredibly fresh. The only downside was the cashier. When we asked where to wait for our food, she lectured us on “the food takes time” and didn’t exactly answer the simple question.

Stopped here when at Grand Central Market and it did not disappoint. We got the sushi omakase. It was incredible - fresh, flavorful, high quality - every bite melted in my mouth. Since there are 2 pieces of each type of fish with the omakase, my husband and I split one omakase order, and then we ordered some of the rush rolls which were also 10/10. Highly recommend.

I am giving this restaurant 5 stars mostly because of how much the owner cares about his restaurant and providing a great experience to customers. There was a discrepancy about my order, and he reached out right away to try to clarify and rectify the situation, which I deeply appreciate! As for the sushi itself - this is a really solid casual option. A great option in the Grand Central Market itself. Seating is limited, so be aware of that. They have a solid happy hour menu! We got the pitcher of Sapporo for $18. Turns out there was a mixup so we had the party plate. My only complaint is that my rice fell apart on half of my rolls. Some of the toppings can be a little overpowering, but that's a personal preference because I really like the taste of the fish itself. The fish was very fresh, good quality. But every type of sushi was very unique. I had never had anything like that before. The extra flavor on top was definitely a new experience. My favorites were the salmon and tuna pieces. The rush roll was difficult for us to figure out the wrapping at first, but once we got it, we appreciated the idea of the rush roll with the nori being used almost like a tortilla for a sushi taco. The flavor for the rush roll was great! This was probably my favorite bite overall!! I would like to come back to try the scallop and the taro. Those two options look great. Please support this business. The owner is very kind and cares so much. DTLA and GCM is lucky to have them.

had their 3 rush roll set, super packed w fresh fish! i had the tuna, salmon & bay scallop. all condiments are self serve. the rice felt a bit dense. i did like the nori concept, it's wrapped to maintain crispness! which was great in my case bc i had to wait for my friend to get their food at another stall and it didn't get soggy. friendly & fast service.

Super easy menu, I love that they have sushi on display, thought that was cute. The man taking my order was super nice. Directed me where to get containers for my sauce. The sushi was so bomb and super fresh fish. I went back and ordered two more! I thought they had reasonable prices. For sure would come back and try different rolls.

The $25 salmon zukushi set was pretty worth it. It came with 8 nigiri pieces and one hand roll and was pretty solid in quality. It did take a little bit of time to make but that's considering they were making 3 other orders for ours to get them out at the same time. For a stand inside of grand central I found their price to be fair.

What a great addition to GCM. Coming back from Japan, I completely understand the owner's concept. A casual QUALITY sushi spot with the perfect price point. I love that you can get a full omakase menu here for $48. Their toro is also melt in your mouth. I try and stop here every time I'm in GCM, especially when I just want a snack. The only thing that resembles this type of concept is Sugarfish, and that can get pricey. Definitely stop here and give it a try.

Just WOW! The freshness, the quality, the happy hour. Try this place, it's a must. The fish was so fresh, it felt like I was in a high end restaurant but with the ambiance of a laidback sushi bar. Go for happy hour for $18 pitcher of beer. The sushi not only looks beautiful, it tastes beautiful, too!

Tucked away in the Grand Central Market, this place is a little gem. They have some counter seating if you'd like to eat there or they can pack it to go so it doesn't get soggy. I ordered the Classic rushroll $28 and they were absolutely delicious and generously filled with protein. It includes bay scallops, tuna, salmon, crab, etc. and they offer sauces on the side like yuzu ponzu, spicy mayo, and soy sauce. The service was quick and friendly.

I was craving for some sushi and found this place to try for lunch! It's located in the grand central market so it does get pretty crowded and so many food options to choose from! I ordered the 5 hand roll set and it was surprisingly fresh and tasty! My favorite will have to be the scallop one! I love how the seaweed is in a plastic that you pull off when you eat each hand roll so it stays crispy! The price is great for its quality and size! Definitely a great place for a quick sushi fix!

Delicious, fresh and very reasonably priced. The person taking my order was very knowledgeable and patient! Plus service was fast. I loved that you can sit at the counter and eat and order more if you didn't get enough! Plus they had variety of sauces

I was pleasantly surprised by Sushi Rush at Grand Central Market! Their sushi is incredibly fresh, and the service is quick. I ordered the yellowtail with yuzu and the toro with caviar sushi, both of which were delightful. To top it off, I tried two open handrolls: the salmon with rice crackers and the yellowtail cucumber with scallion. Both were delicious and creatively presented. The staff were sweet and efficient, making the overall experience great. Just a heads-up: seating at their bar is limited, so plan accordingly. Highly recommend for a quick sushi fix in the market!

STEPH JUDGEMENT: Great fresh casual sushi bargain. Was looking for a light lunch option while at the Grand Central Market and sushi sounded good. I got their Sushi Rush combo-a nice selection of nigiri sushi and a roll for $25 as of this writing. They also have a free miso soup with Yelp check in! Service was friendly, and I found their food to be fresh and good quality. I also liked their special nori preservation system for their rolls that keeps the seaweed crunchy and dry until you're ready to eat it. It's not fancy, but it's a good value worth revisiting.

We were in the area & wanted a quick bite so opted for Sushi Rush at the Grand Central Market. The stand along with the omakase like seating was a cute little vibe. I chose the rush roll set of 3 which included: salmon, bay scallop, and spicy tuna which turned out to be around $18. I have no complaints about the flavor or freshness because both were up to par, it was the messiness of it that was NOT it for me. Even if I followed the way they instructed me to do it, every. single. one fell apart for me so that turned me off instantly. I couldn't take a bite without something falling out. Good place to try but I really hope they do something to keep it more intact which would make it more enjoyable in my opinion!

It is located inside Grand Central Market so it tends to be a little crowded. Seats are bar style where you can see the chefs preparing the food in front of you. The staff were friendly and helpful. The fish tasted very fresh and in the set comes with scallop, salmon, spicy tuna, yellowtail, and blue crab hand rolls. My favorite was the scallop, but all of them were very fresh and flavorful. They provide plenty of condiments to pair it with and the ginger is cut into tiny pieces. The set was $28 and I shared with my boyfriend since we are planning to try other places here in grand central market. I think it was good and worth the price!

Great hand roll set, gives you a fun shareable platter to get a taste of salmon, yellowtail, scallops, tuna, blue crab. We shared 2 sets with 4 ppl and it was a good balance.

Today marked my 5th time eating at sushi rush. I normally get the happy hour sampler and always feel incredibly satisfied with the amount. The quality of the fish stands out and the fun garnishes make each bite a party for my taste buds. Not only is the food great but the service I receive here is the best of any restaurant in the market. I came at a pretty slow time and chef personally grabbed me a room temp water from their downstairs storage room. I was embarrassed from having him go out of his way for me but so grateful that he cared.

The food was sooooo good. Very fresh and innovative the way they present you with your hand rolls. They have plastic on the seaweed to keep it crispy and fresh. Very easy to pinch off and remove. I particularly liked the bay scallop and the yellowtail. Would come back 10/10! The service was quick and it was a bit hot because it was 80 degrees out, not a great place to cool off. Would love it more if it was air conditioned even a little.

Didn't expect the sushi here to be so good since grand central is always packed. Everything tastes fresh and delicious. Servers were on point and super attentive. You can't beat the price point either. Personally, I think this is the best place overall in Grand Central. Sushi Rush is a must if you're ever in that area

Super high quality fish. Just super tasty! Was up in LA for the weekend from San Diego and stumbled onto this food hall. Honestly can't wait to go back to Sushi Rush and also to try a bunch more stuff that all looked so good!

I had a crab hand roll and a veggie hand roll it was very good, you need to add your condiments to you liking do I add wasabi and some soy sauce. It was fresh. It went well with my saved ice

Came here for lunch with the family. There was no cashier when I placed my order so I had to come back a few minutes later to order and pay which was odd. Anyway, sushi is ok. Definitely a welcomed addition to GCM since there is no sushi/sashimi spots like this. I got the 5 handroll set which was decent except for the salmon which was a bit fishy. Overall, solid option but small portions for the price.

Randomly decided to stop by Grand Central Market for a light and quick dinner. Sushi Rush is new and still in soft opening mode, so we decided to give it a try! The staff was incredibly friendly - Took the time to provide recs and check-in on us. I was a little concerned about the freshness and quality of the sushi due to the hot weather, but wow, I was pleasantly surprised by how flavor all the nigiri tasted. I ordered the jumbo scallop, albacore, tuna, toro with caviar, and yellowtail as a la carte... What I should've done was just paid $48 for the omakase since I practically ordered everything in the set except for the salmon belly. I left feeling satisfied and will definitely come back!

Would recommend that when you order that you make sure they actually have your order. I I had the woman take my order, watch me sit down at the counter and then she went ahead prepared everyone else's food. I finally asked and she said she forgot. No remorse, no apologies. By then, had to wait another 25 minutes. :(

Soft and fresh fish! Rice was a bit crumbly so I ended up just using my hands. I would recommend asking for condiment cups for the sauce options even if you are dining in. Very friendly and prompt service! It's a great addition to GCM :)

Grand Central Market, where Sushi Rush is located, is within walking district of the downtown courthouse. I came here on a jury duty lunch break. The fish is fresh, perfect seasoning, and they keep the seaweed crispy by keeping a plastic film between the nori and the fish until you eat it.

Today GCM is almost entirely food stalls. I work nearby and visit pretty frequently. It's obvious this is a brand new stall, but I was very happy with the food and service. Having open seats with a view to the kitchen, and a nice selection of clearly labeled condiments is a nice touch. Having fresh wasabi on the tuna was a really nice touch. I tried the albacore, salmon and tuna nigiri along with the scallop RushRoll. All were tasty, fresh, and craveable. Will be going back and trying some of the sets.

So delicious! I loved how convenient, delicious and simple everything was. The fish were incredibly fresh and I appreciate the detail to use the pull-away wrappers to keep the nori from getting soggy. I had the miso soup, tuna nigiri and rushroll set. Everything was so good it was hard to pick out which I liked most. The miso soup was flavorful and packed with seaweed which is already saying a lot compared the quality of other fast casual Japanese food places. The service was excellent. They were all friendly and you can see them make your food fresh at the counter. I loved that there was plenty of counter seating and tables nearby. It was packed midday on Thursday and I was glad to be able to find seating that was close by so I didn't have to walk back and forth while waiting for food or if I needed anything. One of the most pleasant "takeout" style sushi experiences I've had. Highly recommend!

I often come to Grand Central Market, and when I do I visit Sushi Rush! With their great beer and selection of top tier sushi, it's always a great idea to stop by Sushi Rush!

This little spot was busy on a Monday night which can only mean it's good! Definitely was not disappointed, great value for good food.

Me: very good sushi. It's probably the best sushi you can get at this price point. My gf: I have celiac, and the chef was very accommodating. He customised the omakase menu for me to make sure I could eat everything. The seafood was so fresh and everything was delicious! We will brave the GCM parking garage just for this.

Solid lunch spot in grand central, friend and I grabbed some hand rolls and some nigiri. The sets are pretty good deals! I had enough to eat but definitely wasn't overly full. A good light option - would come back!

Great service! They did open a bit later than the rest of the vendors here, but I say we'll worth the wait. They show you instructions on how to peel off the plant based plastic film thing. They have their own seating as well if you prefer to be seated in a more bar style. Sushi rolls came out quickly and stayed intact.

I got their signature sushi rush set. Very high quality. There was only one guy there who did everything and I am amazed. This place would give Sugarfish a run for their money, if they can keep up with the "sushi rush"... lol. Actually, it only took about ten minutes to get my order. I got my order to go and it was nicely packaged, especially the hand roll which came with an instruction manual. I made sure to get the spicy mayo and ponzu sauces... they are incredible. Next time, I will make room for the shaved ice dessert. I got distracted by McConnell's nearby.

Came here for a quick lunch and they definitely live up to the name! I enjoyed the sushi here and if you love sushi like I do, you can tell that it is high quality. The service was very fast and got my food within 5mins. Grand Central Market bring the best vibes to compliment the dining experience.

We ordered the deluxe party platter, party platter, and California rolls for a New Year's Eve gathering. Everything was so fresh and delicious. My favorite was the otoro with caviar. . I like the variety of sushi and the presentation was so pretty.

GCM is just a fun spot in general, but this was a great quick sushi spot, with amazing service and good, quality fish! Got the miso soup and the SushiRush plate

New addition to GCM. Good service and delicious. I got their standard 8 piece sushi plus roll for $25. It was so good, I got a second one! The guy serving us was nice and friendly and the sauce options were nice. Rice was a little crumbly but overall great little spot for reasonably priced sushi without having to skip over to little Tokyo. Would go back!

While the sushi is good, and even experimental in its use of a few garnishes, where it loses a star is the price to sushi ratio. They were touting a seasonal special of 17 pieces of nigiri, so I decided to trust their recommendation, while it did have a couple of scallops, over 12 of the pieces were salmon and yellowtail (the cheapest of Nigiri usually)!yet they charge over $50 for it. I could easily popped around to Sugar Fish just a few blocks over and gotten an entire meal of much higher quality sushi for 40. so of money is no object given them a shot otherwise seek better and cheaper fare.
