"Tokyo’s legendary sushi-ya has opened its only overseas outpost in the Lion City. Owned and supervised by chef Ryujiro Nakamura, and helmed by his young protégé, Sushi Ryujiro Singapore offers two omakase menus that include otsumami and edomae nigiri sushi. Japanese rice is dressed in a blend of four red vinegars; most ingredients are also shipped from Japan for authenticity. With only 14 counter seats, reservations are essential." - Michelin Inspector

Sushi Ryujiro

"Ryujiro Nakamura’ open-hearted character keeps the mood bright in this vibrant, full of laughter restaurant. The fish is flavoursome, the staff youthful and energetic. Rice is seasoned with red vinegar made from sake lees to keep the focus on the tuna. The omakase is original in presentation yet respectful of the traditions taught by his mentor. It begins with nigiri sushi of medium-fatty tuna and ends with soup stock-flavoured thick omelette roll. A good beginning and an end are vital in all things." - Michelin Inspector

Their eel was the best eel I ever had. However the sequence is little bit different from other sushiya(The course started with chutoro nigiri) Not sure if it's good or not tho. Rest of the course was ok but they use citrus(yuzu and lime) in almost every pieces so it didn't highlight any sushi eventually. Also there was a small piece of plastic vinyl in my miso soup. I almost didn't see it because of the scallion. The chef simply said sorry about it and gave me a new miso soup. I know it happens sometimes but I expected better reaction from them since I payed around 33000JPY for single lunch. The serving tempo is too slow compare to what you get each time. My stomach could digest what I had in the beginning during the course. I wasn't full at all after all. The sushi wasn't bad but I'm sure that you can find better but cheaper one

Had a great time here as a foreigner passing through. Great interactions with the sous chef and other patrons despite a) not speaking Japanese b) arriving five minutes too late. The nigiri rice has noticeable vinegar elements even to a foreigner; great for my personal taste

Very satisfied with my visit to Ryujiro. All the nigiri’s are delicious very well balanced between temperature of the rice shushisu and size. All the side dishes like “norezore “ and ankimo far better than other sushi restaurants I tasted before, flavours were extremely delicious. Service is as very attentive and they explain the dishes in English too. Is a hard reservation to take but completely worth. [February 2025]

Sushi master classes here, perfect technique on sushi. Tier 1 food for midrange price. The main counter has 10 seats but I do not think they look after all customers well enough, some services are slow and have been making mistake from middle of the course to extras. The use of tableware is very impressive, just beautifully presented with design.

If you're ever in Tokyo and want an unforgettable dining experience, you have to check out Sushi Ryujiro. We dined here and were absolutely blown away. They serve over 20+ courses of Omakase excellence, and every dish is a masterpiece. Watching the sensational chefs at work was an awesome experience. The seafood was incredibly fresh. The toro (tuna) was deliciously fatty and melted in your mouth with rich, buttery perfection. Sushi Ryujiro is hands down the best sushi we have ever had and one of the highlights of our 3 week trip in Japan - SENSATIONAL ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We booked our reservation at Sushi Ryujiro a few months in advance via Tableall, and it was absolutely worth the wait. With its Silver Award on Tabelog, our expectations were high, and yet, the experience exceeded them in every way. This is, without a doubt, the best sushi restaurant we have ever been to. The highlights were the three cuts of tuna, which literally melted in your mouth. Every piece of sushi was crafted to perfection, reflecting the skill and dedication of the chef. The ambiance was elegant, and the service was impeccable, making our dining experience truly memorable. We highly recommend Sushi Ryujiro to any sushi lover. It is an extraordinary journey that is well worth every penny.

A wonderful sushi experience! The food was delicious and was such a wide variety of fish. I kept changing my mind on what was my favorite part! As tourists who only spoke English the experience wasn't as fun because we couldn't converse freely with the chef and other guests but we enjoyed ourselves nonetheless. Would definitely recommend if you're wanting a special night out!
