Currently open on Fridays and Saturdays, they make very good temaki with high-quality, flavorful ingredients, many of which are imported from Japan. It’s a great setting for a casual date that doesn’t require much advanced planning but still feels special. The location is a little awkward—it’s in the lobby of the Hotel Z, but below street level, shoehorned in beside the entrance to the speakeasy The Newsroom—and the speakers positioned directly over the bar can make it hard to hear. Sushi Saint is the newest, must-visit handroll spot in Long Island City, offering an intimate 10-seat sushi counter experience by Michelin Star Chef Michael Collantes. We tried the Ave Maria 5 Set ($55) and loved each handroll: •    Bluefin Tuna (akami) with black garlic – My favorite! The black garlic sauce was an umami bomb—rich, caramelized, slightly sweet, and tangy. I’ve had black garlic in Asia, but this was my first time finding it in the States! •    King Salmon with lime miso, pickled jalapeño, and microgreens – Bright and balanced with just a hint of heat. •    Crab with miso brown butter and cucumber – Buttery and delicate. •    Truffle Mushroom Jam – Earthy, umami-packed, and unique. •    Scallop with brown butter and cucumber – Sweet and creamy perfection. We also couldn’t resist a few a la carte handrolls: •    Negi Toro with fresh wasabi – Fatty and fresh. •    A5 Wagyu with fresh wasabi and mushroom jam – Luxuriously melt-in-your-mouth. •    Ikura Salmon Roe with yuzu soy and shiso – Bursting with citrusy, briny goodness. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with neon accents and Sakura flowers, creating a stylish yet cozy vibe. The service was friendly and attentive, making for a great experience.

Never have I ever had such a perfectly delicious meal. Every bite, every flavor, every single morsel was beyond. The intimate dining experience, the service, from start to finish was just perfect. Highlights were the A5 wagyu, the hamachi, the salmon... truly each roll was more delicious than the next. Already planning our next visit. Thank you for such a beautiful and yummy dinner.

You know how in the movie Ratatouille, the chef is transported to his childhood because of the meal he was eating? When great food is served to you, it evokes memories and the flavors take you places. That’s the way I would describe the amazing omakase experience I had at Sushi Saint NY. The sushi was delicious, full of subtle flavors which blew me away with each and every bite. Some of the flavors also evoked memories of favorite dishes served to us by my dad when we were younger. I also ordered some hand rolls on the side. The yellowtail hand roll is a must try!!!

I can say a lot about this place, but let me keep it short and sweet: WALK AWAY! This was by far the worst restaurant experience I’ve had in NY. The chef was handling food with the gloves/hands he used to touch the payment machine, his phone, and just about everything else that you can imagine and name! And it’s just the beginning of huge hygiene red flags - how the food was being handled made me really concerned about my health. The fish was sitting out at room temperature, the rolls were overloaded with rice and sloppily made (nothing like the photos in the reviews), and they were drenched in soy sauce. It’s completely overpriced for the tiny amount of fish and poor quality of food they offer. And to top it off, a 20% gratuity is automatically added to the bill, when there is no one that refills your water. You can thank me later!

Sushi Saint is by far the best sushi spot, not only in Orlando, but possibly in all of America. The omakase experience is other worldly, with head chef Sam not only making the most delicious pieces of sushi you can imagine, but also educating you on the process and providing you exceptional customer service. He was even kind enough to let me try the Munk Fish Liver, something I have always wanted to try but never got the chance! The experience is a 11/10, I could not recommend it highly enough. Also, shout out Derrick for the incredible pairings and friendly service!

Blown away by the flavors of the hand rolls. My favorite was the king salmon and second was the A5 wagyu beef. My partner got a 5 course set and his favorite was also the king salmon followed by the spicy toro that he got as an add on.

Food was delicious! Decor/ambiance felt like an Airbnb that caters to Bachelorette parties. Nearly empty even though it was Friday. Our server was v friendly but kept forgetting what he’d already brought.
